Kate was a wonderful tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and gave us wonderful tips. 5 stars and would highly recommend doing this tour.

Amazing and worthy day tour to two small cities

The trip is very nice, it brings us to two different historical small cities. Avila and Segovia have many beautiful walls, palace and castle, they are different from the other museum in the city. The outside view are still open areas with trees and old houses, more similar with the actual view when the buildings are built and used. The Acueducto de Segovia was amazing. It a really good trip, our guide Kat explains the background history very clear.

Marvellous City

Both places were amazing. Kate our tour guide was very knowledgeable, patient and energetic. Please make sure to wear comfortable shoes because of lots of walking.

Great experience

We had a great day in Avila and Segovia. The trip was well organised, informative and with enough free time to explore by ourselves. Our guide was very nice, spoke in two languages all day - well done!

Don’t miss this tour!

We saw and did so much in 8 hours! I knew I wanted to see Segovia while in Madrid, but when I saw this one combined with Avila I thought that sounded even better. The meeting place in Madrid was very easy to find. The bus was very comfortable and our tour guide Kate was fantastic! I loved the bilingual tour - it let me practice my Spanish while hearing it also in English to make sure I didn’t miss anything. And the lunch was amazing! I thought it would be more like tapas and samples of things, but it was a full, 3-course sit-down meal in what had to be the nicest restaurant in town. Absolutely delicious and possibly one of the best meals we had in Spain. I highly recommend this tour!

Avila and Segovia

A wonderful day exploring the beautiful towns of Avila and Segovia. Kate the tour guide was a wealth of information and kept everything on schedule.

Gray trip to Avila and Segovia

Kate was super informative and very detailed. She gave specific information about every city and how much time we had to explore. She also answered any questions that we may have had. We had an amazing time and the drive was smooth sailing thanks to the driving of Patricio. 💖

Tour!

Kate was great!! This was a great balance of information and free time to explore! We enjoyed getting the option to eat lunch with the group or choose our own restaurant as well.

A well organized trip. We left and arrived on time. We got a lot of information about the attractions from José Luis. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Excellent guide, very knowledgeable. Places were beautiful, and the food was delicious. Would absolutely recommend.

Terrible tourist guide and travel plan

This travel company plan two languages in same team. Tourist guide is a Spanish, not good enough for be an English tour guide. He scheduled the trip plan also bad, maybe it was a good time for photography, but he still go his way then tell the lunch and give us two meeting times. I think he need to practice and be more ability as possible.

Very enjoyable and interesting

The guide Jorge was very knowledgeable and shared with us interesting historical facts about the sites. We also enjoyed that we had a fair amount of time to walk around the area.

Day trip to Avila and Segovia.

Amazing day trip. The tour guide Jose was so nice and mindful. I chose the meal which I wasn’t fond of. And I wish we could’ve stopped at the Avila sign and taken a panoramic pic of the city. Other than that the whole trip is amazing, book this trip. You won’t regret it.

Two cities in a day

The trip was very good, two beautiful cities in a day. Our guide Jorge was great, knowledgable and very patient. The only thing I would say is that there should be a little more free time in Segovia, I think that the trip could easily extend for 1 more hour.

Must see place when visiting Madrid.

We had a comfortable journey and the guide was patient enough to show and explain about the places. Booking was easy via online.

Fun and historical trip

It was a fun trip! Avila and Segovia are beautiful and full of historical stories which fluently spelled by our tour guide. Worth to spend a day for this trip if you are visiting Madrid.

Wonderful time spent!

The trip is fruitful and my family and I went so many beautiful places in Segovia and Avila. I hope we could have more time to visit the Acueducto de Segovia!

Impressive

Kate our tour guide did an excellent job and explained the history of Avila and Segovia. We loved having time to explore by ourselves.

Good trip

Great trip! Nacho was very educated on Avila+segovia and their history. My only complaint is that I feel like we could have spent more time in Segovia. We felt rushed for lunch (had less than 1 hour) and felt like more could have been seen, but otherwise it was a great trip.

Easy, enjoyable introduction to Avila and Segovia

Nacio is an excellent guide and handled the English portion well. He kept the group organized and gave clear instructions on timelines and meeting places. The tours of Avila and Segovia were enjoyable and educational. It's a great introduction to the area and the two towns. For Segovia we skipped the optional lunch and found a nice place on our own. You don't get a lot of time to wander on your own, but that's to be understood for a tour like this. Now we're well prepared for a return visit on our own in the future.

Poor guide in English

Visit was good but no free time was given as advertised. Guide explanation in spanish was more explicite then in English VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Àvila and Segovia Day Trip

Kate was our amazing guide, and we had a great trip! We met at 7:45am and returned to Madrid around 5pm. The bus was very comfortable and air conditioned. Water is available on the bus for one euro which was so nice. Only water is allowed on the bus—no eating or other drinks. We did not find a breakfast option before we left Madrid, but there was a cafe and bathroom as soon as we arrived in Àvila. My husband and I traveled with two of our teenagers and our 9 year old. We wore light jackets in the morning. It was a warm day so we left our jackets on the bus at lunch time before touring Segovia. The trip is a fair amount of walking and some steep stairs to get up on the top of the walls; my 9 year old was able to do it without any complaints. Thanks for a great day!

Amazing time

We had an amazing time with Kate she was very kind and helpful with everyone on our tour to Avila and Segovia. It was a very educational tour we learned a lot about both cities. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes it was a ton of walking the weather was perfect for the trip.

So many excellent sites to see on this tour. We did not choose the luncheon but rather spent more time in the shops of Segovia. I would highly recommend it.

Excellent and historical

Both Avila and Sergivia are historical and learning them from an expert was great. Both are well maintained and lots of facilities on the walking route

Poor service

Poor service from Julia Travel. Group was split in English and Spanish speaking. Our tour guide her English was very poor and was busier with the Spanish people who lost their group then us. Very little time in Avila to visit the walls. Segovia was very nice, but tour guide didn't want to listen at first as we only wanted free time until the bus was departing and not join the group. Other tour guide with the Spanish group his English was good, so don't understand why we didn't have him.

the cities were incredible, just went a little fast to get photos without falling behind the group. Jorge is incredibly kind and extremely knowledgeable and helpful!

Avila and Segovia

What an amazing day trip. Catherine was extremely knowledgeable and managed the tour very well. The tour provides enough for the day as a reconnaissance for a return trip to these cities for a multi/day stay.

Overall a very positive experience

Both cities were beautiful, and the time allotted in both was just right. I found the guide’s commentary (Jorge) to be good and evenly and fairly spread between Spanish and English given the mixed group. He was also very clear about meeting times and locations. Franklin was a very safe and steady driver. No complaints overall, but anyone with mobility issues should be aware of lots of walking and stairs.

We had a magical day exploring Avila and Segovia. Our guide Jorge was excellent. His kept us well informed about both areas and their history; not to mention his English was exceptional. Our driver Franklin ensured we arrived safely and efficiently. I would highly recommend this day trip to anyone with limited time, who is looking to explore beyond Madrid. Ávila e Segóvia

Ávila and Segóvia are Very beautiful cities. The Roman aqueduto and the walls of Ávila are Very preserved. The Castle of Alcazar os impressive. All the Royal families from Europe began there.

A 5 star experience!

Both places were exceptional and different. We included the lunch as part of the excursion which was smart. It was a great restaurant and served a yummy soup, wine, suckling pig, potatoes and dessert. No waiting. The tour guide did the tour in both English and Spanish- which initially I thought I would not like/ but she did a super job. Again both Ávila and Segovia are a must see!! The views are incredible!!

Great Day Out

We enjoyed this tour, it is an active day out, round 8km of walking. You need good mobility. Our tour guide Kathy was very proficient in English. This tour had more Spanish speaking clients , English speaking had to do a bit of waiting around and didn’t get as much value in time at the cathedrals and castles . Maybe rotate it around. We didn’t do the lunch, this gave us a lot more time to enjoy Segovia. The aqueduct is really spectacular and is just passed by, if you choose the lunch option. Glad we did this day, good value for money.

Amazing tour! Both cities are beautiful. I had the opportunity of doing 3 excursions through Juliá Travel: El Escorial, Toledo and Avila/Segovia. Tour guides were fantastic, and very knowledgeable. Special thanks to Katherine (Tour Guide). She is amazing!

Well organised tour

Really well organised tour. Comfortable bus, just enough time to get a good sense of Avila and Segovia. The tour was in Spanish and English so some downtime but I used it to look around. Irene was an informative guide. Highly recommended

Nice travel to the past.

Very good journey very everyone interested in history, you can experiance medieval and ancient Rome heritage. Also try some local food.

Worthwhile tour of Avila and Segovia

Kate, our guide, did a great job despite it being a large group and bilingual. I am used to smaller groups of just English-speaking tourists so found it a little rushed at times, no fault of hers. We were happy with the meal option. We were glad we did this tour.

Overall it’s amazing. Good explanation not only in Spanish but also in English, so it is quite friendly to Asian like us. We will be delighted if we were given more free time to explore at our own pace. Tour guide is friendly and talented, impressive!

Jorge is a fantastic guide. We also had Jorge as a guide on the All Day Toledo Tour. Our driver Franklin on this excursion is a safe and great in his job.

Enjoyed very much, would prefer more time to explore

All the attractions included were very special, really worth it! Great tour. The pace was a bit quick to fully enjoy all the attractions, but for a day trip it is expected, as lots of places were covered.

Avila and Segovia castles and walls

Kate is knowledgeable and gave good background info on Avila and Segovia. A few points that might be helpful about meeting points and meeting times. I would have prefer a written or printed info as it is not always possible to remember what was Kate told us. The group was split up according to different variations of tour.
