Tour Guide Very Knowledgeable

The walk was about 1.5 hours. The tour guide was very knowledgeable on Jack the Ripper. Only issue was the size of the group. We had almost 50 people so it was tough going from one stop to another. Some were older teens and you can tell that they’d rather be doing something else than learning the facts from the tour. I would recommend but wish they could manage the size of the groups better.

Brilliant

Went on a Tuesday evening/night and it was brilliant. The tour guide was very informative, not just about Jack The Ripper and his victims, but also the history of the time, etc. Would highly recommend it.

Tale end details ..

We felt the your guide should get 5 stsrs, as he went above and beyond for us as the tour left and didn’t wait for any missing people in the party. We finally caught up with the group and had a fun time but we’d felt disappointed that we’d missed the first two murders, and our guide offered to stay after the tour ended, sit and have a beer and share in the details we’d missed. He was amazing!! Made it totally personal. Contact information was vague though and could use a map of the route in the website in case this happens to others.

It never happened, tour guide never showed up!

Our group along with 2 others groups waited in the spot we were directed to from the Viator reservation page. We tried to contact the tour company several times while waiting with no response or answer finally had to call Viator who was very nice helping us request a refund. Not a good experience, 12 very disappointed people left hanging.

Tour guide didn't show up. Don't book with this company

Tour guide didn't show up, large group waiting for him. Text him with numbers provided but no response. Wasted my vacation time and 20€ cab ride. The refund is really not going to cover my lost. Very upset.

Fun!!

What an excellent and adventurous experience it was to walk all over White Chapel with a tour guide who was knowledgeable and engaging with the group! Our guide is an expert in all Jack the Ripper things. I highly recommend this tour if you’re into Jack the Ripper. It’s also fun to walk all over the area and imagine what it must have been like back then.

A memorable experience thanks to Andrew

We were able to witness a total immersion in Jack the Ripper's journey, thanks to Andrew, a guide as passionate as he was fascinating! Many thanks to him for these 1h45 of history and horror. We're delighted with the experience and highly recommend it!

Highlight of our trip!

Andre was an amazing tour guide! You could tell that he was passionate about the subject and it was very cool that he had a personal connection to one of the victims. We recommended the tour to another couple at the airport we overheard were on their way to London as it was a highlight of our trip! Not too much walking, and you go slow. Great for all.

Just okay but guide was great

The guide was great but I was disappointed in the advertising of Ripper Vision. The tour was not what I expected.

Fun & informative tour

Alan was a wonderful tour guide and storyteller! He was full of “fun” facts about the life and times of Jack the Ripper. 100% recommend!

Harry's tour was the best!

My 18 year old daughter and I really enjoyed this tour. Harry was very animated and incredibly knowledgeable and we got to see parts of London we would have definitely missed if we hadn't gone on the tour. It was great!

Ripper Tour

Exactly what you would expect. A nice way to walk through London’s East End. Guide was entertaining and engaging.

Harry was the best!

This was a very informative and entertaining tour. Harry had SO much information and made it into a story timeline of events with a mini projector with photos from the day, and he was very animated which made it all the more entertaining. 10 out of 10!

Decent

Thought this tour was just alright. Had high hopes for it. It seemed kinda scattered to start with so many groups and so many people taking tours around there. Could’ve been more organized because honestly anybody could’ve joined the tour from the street and not had to pay. Loved the info and details they went into. Some people said they thought they couldn’t see the projector, no issues for me. Liked that part. Just thought it was a little too choreographed and rehearsed. Would’ve preferred maybe a smaller group so they could get to know you and you could ask questions. But maybe that’s just me.

The Fall of 1888

Harry was an excellent tour guide. His story telling was awesome, engaging and entertaining. I learned a lot about Jack the Ripper and some history of London. Harry takes you back to the fall of 1888 and makes you feel like you’re living in the east end of London, talking about the murders and wondering who will be the next victim. Great tour, highly recommended.

An Interesting 2 Hour Tour

This tour was a lot of fun. We traveled through the White Chapel neighborhood and saw a part of town we’d normally not have visited. The “Ripper Vision” was a nice touch, adding visuals to an already gory story. Harry, our tour guide was fantastic. His story telling was enthusiastic and informative!

Crowded, but informative

This was a really informative, entertaining tour. The only problem was that there were too many people and it was very difficult to keep pace and follow the guide.

Great experience

What experience, the tour guide have a lot of knowledge about the killings. Also was a dinamic experience, because he not just show us where the killings occurred, he also show us photos. We recommended.

Grat Tour!

The tour guide was superb. He absolutely brought the entire tour to life (?). His narration was flawless, and he had an incredibly in-depth knowledge of the entire scope of the Jack-the-Ripper saga. He had been involved with and investigating this episode in London history for over 30 years and brought out every detail of the murders (not for weak stomachs). This is definitely a worth-while tour, and I wouldn't miss it if I were a visitor to London.

An excellent tour not to be missed

Our tour guide was amazing (he wore a hat and trench coat). The tour was super interesting and we would highly recommend it. The Ripper Vision didn’t add much as it was still pretty light out at 7:30 but the guide also shared photos.

The final stop - in a local hostelry - facilitated a short slide show bringing home more of the gruesome details (by the way this walk isn't for the kiddies!) and pulled the whole thing together. A very interesting evening spent listening to a remarkable man. Heartily recommended. Really enjoyed this

Very interesting tour with an excellent tour guide ( Mick). Fascinating insight into the area and the era of Jack the Ripper . Something different to do in London in the early evening.Seemed very easy to buy tickets from the shop near Aldgate East Station and meet nearby at 7.30.

Interesting tour of East London and insight into Jack the Ripper

I really enjoyed this tour. The tour guide was really in character and is clearly honestly fascinated by the story of Jack the Ripper. It comes across in his delivery and passion. He is also well informed on East London and how it changed over the years. I personally appreciated that insight. The theories at the end on the identity and connections of Jack the Ripper felt a bit wild but I will let you hear about them and make your minds up.

Brilliant experience

So pleased that our guide was Andre. He actually lived in the ten bells pub near spitalfields market in the nineties. You sense he loves his role and his enthusiasm resonates through everyone. He is so knowledgeable about the Ripper Murders. I had always wanted to do this tour and I was amazed at the alleyways and old buildings are still present. The ripper vision projected images brought to life some of the locations. Have to say it was a brilliant 75 minutes. We took Andre back to the ten bells pub to buy him a Drink and the inside is all original you have to see it

A brilliant, eye opening insight into the Jack the Ripper murders from a well informed, and engaging tour guide!

Alan was our tour guide and he was excellent. He made it a fun excursion & highly informative but we never lost the seriousness of the topic either. I have very limited knowledge of Jack the Ripper but the bits I thought I knew, in particular the characterising of the "Whitechapel murders" was debunked, not least through a contextual social history of that part of London. Was also interesting to walk around a part of London I wouldn't normally make a beeline for. A real eye opener. Heartily recommend to anyone with an interest in true crime and/or social history. Only shame was I wasn't carrying cash as would have tipped as it's worth more than what we paid for the tour.

Fun and informative!

Loved the backstory to the murders! Our guide was very knowledgeable. Walking around neighborhood was fun. Thought the theory presented was plausible. Ripper vision was ok. Overall, great experience and worthwhile.

Outstanding and incredibly well done

This tour was absolutely amazing. The knowledge that our tour guide Mick has is outstanding and he speaks on the topic in such a way that it grabs your interest always. Also speaking with Mick about his extensive knowledge about other cases solidified the idea that this was not just a job to him, this was something he was passionate about and also wanting to learn more himself.

Private Ripper tour

We had the brilliant Alan as our tour guide for our private group of ghost hunters who where tourists in London for the weekend! Not only was he informative, but extremely generous with his time and explanations but was happy for a couple of the guests to have their paranormal equipment out as we walked. A fantastic evening! Can’t recommend enough! We will be back again 100% Thank you ripper team! 👻

Disappointed with the organisation and made agreements.

We have booked this tour with groups of pupils before and always agree on a price beforehand and pay promptly. As we were now travelling with a large group of pupils whose English is not very good we specifically booked 4 guides instead of 3, and paid £2 per person extra for this. When we arrived only three guides were there and when I emailed Richard he said that prices had gone up due to Covid, hence the three guides. However, this was exactly the reason why we had paid extra already. In the email we came to an agreement and paid promptly, but the agreement was not followed. We would still like a refund for the money that we paid extra.

We really enjoyed the tour , been wanting to do this for a long time but don’t get to London very often as we live in the north east , Andre our tour guide was brilliant ,enthusiastic and informative , with his personal interest in Jack the Ripper , his theory of Jack the Ripper made more sense than any other I have heard .

Scam and unhelpful

Nothing. I contacted the tour saying my group would be a bit late. I never heard back. I messaged multiple times and received no response. I called viator and was told too bad, call the your guide, can't do anything for you. No refund, no reschedule, and nothing but attitude.

Exceeded our expectations!

We learned more than we thought we would. It was an excellent tour! Our tour guide Mick was the very best! I don’t think there is a more knowledgeable person out there on Jack The Ripper and he knows so much about lots of crime dramas! He went above and beyond just a guide. Great Tour

Our tour guide M.P. Priestley was very good. We understood everything he said and he has a good sense of humor. He was very informative and he also showed us picture slides of the events that happened.

What the heck?

Honestly can’t say it was worth the $45 we spent. Hard to hear the guide. Ripper vision didn’t work because it was too bright out. Felt very disengaged from what was happening because of all the distractions around and lack of microphone from the guide. I could have googled and walked myself and had a more enriched and engaging experience. Positive reviews were misleading. I feel pretty cheated.
