Went Saturday! Brilliant! Tour guides each way were brilliant so entertaining, funny and knowledgeable! All Staff on board were great!

This tour was so much fun. We hopped on and off and was able to explore the city and hopped back on to get a ride back to our initial start.

Cruise was fine but they failed on the basics

Cruise was ok and commentary was good but they failed on the basics of announcing when to get off the boat at the appropriate dock. Ended up on an accidental round trip because of it.

We first took the boat to Greenwich and found the most picture Greenwich market. We spent a few hours buying food and trinkets all the sides we saw along the way

Fun Transportation!

The ability to hop off and hop on the river cruise was invaluable! We were able to cruise the river as well as have a way to get to the Tower of London for a tour and Greenwhich

Great way to experience the city

A really nice tour and an excellent way for some sightseeing and avoiding the big crowds. I went with my family and they all enjoyed the tour. They do a live commentary with lots of funny information about the sights. They even park the boat in front of the tower bridge so that everyone has a great opportunity for pictures.

Worth it

Great ride. On time, funny guides/captains and no issues. Boats on time, clean and as described. We would choose again.

Great way to sitesee on a pretty day!

We lucked out on a beautiful sunny day with perfect temperatures. We missed our 10am boat but another was along in 10 minutes so that wasn’t an issue. The trip was relaxing and informative. Our crew did a great job. Food & beverages were available for purchase. Sitting up top gave a great view for pictures. I would do this again and again! Be sure to bring cash for a tip or ask for the QR code.

No heat on busses. Really Really Cold.

The buses were rerouted several times, because of protestors, which was not the fault of the tour company. We received an e-mail before we went that some of the stops would be closed. However, that seemed to change, by the minute, and no one told us, we weren’t going to the Cathedral. So, after three hours, we didn’t get to where we wanted to go. We would have gotten off much earlier if we had been kept apprised of the changed route. Also, be aware that the busses are not heated (or at least ours wasn’t).

Trip on the Thames

We just thought we were going on a ferry on the Thames, we weren't expecting the amazing, informative and funny commentary from crew member Dillian, it really made the trip so much more memorable. Thank you. Highly recommend to anyone with a sense of humour 👌

Customers not valued.

Excellent trip out to Greenwich in the morning. The return trip in the evening wasn’t very good at all. Due to lack of water on our 5.15 boat, we were disembarked at Tower Pier to get on the boat waiting for us - except there was no such boat. We were left on the pier for over 40 minutes without any seating, toilets or sufficient shade. No member of Citycruises staff was available to talk to us or offer a suitable apology. When we finally got back on a boat, there was insufficient acknowledgment of what had happened to us. I feel this was really poor show. Poor communications, negligent care of paying passengers and a remarkable lack of concern in regards to the reputation of Citycruises. It certainly did not impress the American tourists who were with us - well done incompetent Britain yet again!

nice relaxing boat ride

Glad we did this, don't remember the price, but I think it was essentially a very overpriced taxi, if you are only wanting to use it to get one end of the Thames to the other. However, we had a delightful narrator on our boat, funny, gave us some good history, it was a nice way to see things we otherwise wouldn't have made it to. Would recommend. Not fast, if efficiency is your goal, this isn't it. 40 minutes between boats seemed like a long wait. If you plan on "hop on, Hop off" at multiple piers, make sure you plan for lots of extra time. Didn't see a time table listed.

good, but not great

The bus trip itself was good. HOWEVER, we purchased a 48 hour usage plan, and there were no buses available on one of the days. I would like a refund for the 24 hours we were not able to use the bus. Also, finding the bus stops was a challenge as they are not clearly marked. I read that complaint in previous reviews and totally agree with this problem.

Long wait time to debark and the same speech each time. Didn't go to all 4 piers and as far down the river as we were told.

Good Thames Tour

A fun trip Thames Cruise. Friendly staffs and a light hearted history tour. I would definitely book this again in the summer months.

A wonderful experience

What a wonderful way to experience The River Thames and all the best sites London has to offer. The crew were charming making my mums 80th Birthday very special. A very big thankyou to Gary and Cynthia, lovely people and so kind.

Great cruise and value

Cruise was great and zahra made it even better!! Boat left on time and wasn’t overly booked. Staff was all very kind and helpful and even told a couple jokes. Must say Zahra who worked the refreshment counter was great , funny and even suggested other things to do during our stay here in London. Definitely recommend this tour.

Please keep the live commentary

My partner had not done this trip before, but had heard from his friend (a Londoner) and me how good it would be. In the event our return journey was far better than the outward one. This purely because there was no live commentary on the outward journey. Whilst I downloaded the app for my partner to listen to that commentary it didn't work well and spoiled the entire outward journey. Spending far too much time on the phone and missing many of the places of interest. We felt cheated, of what should have been and enjoyable and informative journey. Had we known before that there'd be no live commentary, as expected, we would have gone on the quicker Uber boat. HOWEVER our return journey was, as expected, with live commentary. Therefore we could look, listen, learn and enjoy that experience completely. Many thanks for that, it very much saved the day.

Hop on off boat

This was a very relaxing way to travel In order to see the sites you have to be very diligent with time I was able to get to greenich 1st and remained there until 3 pm. Each boat ride arrives every 40 min and takes about 20 to 25 min so not much time to see westminster area as the last and latest boat is 7:10 pm to check in The 1st ride out to greenich would have been more productive if they provided a tour of the sites as we went by on the river thames Actually the only boat providing any info about the sites was on the return from Westminster to tower pier and he was excellent So I recommend that all the rides provide this excellent tour info so we all know what we are looking at

River Thames Day Cruise

We had a great time sightseeing on the cruise and the staff was amazing!!! Simon and Gary made our trip spectacular and helped keep the kids entertained while we enjoyed the scenery. I’d highly recommend taking the cruise all the way to Greenwich

A memorable day out in London!

Great views of Canary Wharf, The Tower, the Shard and the London Eye. A very enjoyable day out and has to be one of the best ways to sightsee and explore London. The hop on hop off ticket was the ideal way to do it!

Good cruise . But expensive on Viator

The cruise is excellent. But information is minimum. You can start from Westminster Pier and stay on the boat and return. We did not know this till we reached London pier But even after purchase with discount it was expensive. You can purchase local ticket at just $46 per family

24 hour hop on/off is a good choice!

Very good commentary. Wasn't a recorded audio or usual tour guide, but English crew. Being a london girl, I appreciated his humour. He was very funny and actually very knowledgable about the landmarks which I thought I already knew about. But I learnt some new facts! It took me a while to decide whether or not to choose city cruises as I'd read some dodgy reviews. But they were great. We didn't use the toilets and it did run a but behind schedule but nothing major. We bought the 24 hour hop on/off. It was better than getting the train and good way to explore.

Thames River

Excellent Thames river cruise. Commentary from crew members made the trip from Westminster Pier to Greenwich Pier (and back) even more enjoyable.

Lovely on board staff but annoying boat cancellation that spoiled the experience

We bought a Go City explorer pass and this was one of the trip options. Four stops are advertised, though one is not really a different destination as Westminster and London Eye are just on opposite sides of the river at the same location. Great on board commentary though not a full “tour guide” type, which wasn’t part of the advertised package but funny and interesting never the less. Staff were lovely on board. Irritating that a boat was cancelled but the person scanning our ticket at the London Eye stop didn’t tell us so we wasted 30 mins hanging out on the cold pier when we could have been walking around taking photos etc or sat in the park with a drink. This meant our time was cut short and we couldn’t do the Greenwich part of the trip because we were going to the theatre and the children had got fed up with the extra waiting. There were lots of Uber boats that came and went whilst we were waiting, maybe that would have been a better option? The views from the boats were great though. Would give 3.5 stars if could.

Great value

This is an ideal way to begin your visit to London. We did this Thames river cruise our first day. It was a great way to get an idea of the location of places we wanted to explore later. We got off in Greenwich, which is a great place to spend the day. The boat staff, who are clear that they are not tour guided, do a wonderful job of describing everything as we pass. But do download the citicruise app for more detailed and professional tour guidance

Don't book.

Views were great. However, this was advertised as a live tour and we did not experience this. It also was so slow moving, that we were only able to utilize the boat once during the 24 hours. I do not feel like we received our money's worth.

A really good way to see London from the vantage point of the Thames River

It was a well managed and timely boat tour. It enabled us to conveniently get from Westminster to Tower Bridge, while enjoying the sites along the way. The narration was informative and lighthearted.

Great experience, easy to hop-on / hop-off, good variety of drinks/snacks on board, clean toilets, amazing sightseeing and great info from the crew about all the interesting places that we passed en route, entertaining, good photo opportunities, worth every penny! You could easily spend all day on/off board exploring London!

Don’t book

This is not a tour, it is a boat cruise. Book the Uber boat instead, you will utilize it much more and actually get to destinations in a quick fashion. Was originally okay with going slow since we thought it was a tour but… no live guide was available/ speaking. We also only got 1 ride of out the 24 hours. Not worth the money.

It was a convenient way to get around London, see and learn about the sights as well as get to attractions in a timely manner.

The experience from Hell

I travelled to London back in November 2023 and quite possibly had the worse experience of all time. Firstly over priced drinks who on earth pays £8 for a can of Malibu when you can get 3 for 7 in supermarkets. Secondly I have an image of a fury friend that my daughter discovered (we was sat at the front). This is extremely unhygienic and not appealing in the slightest I mean the poor staff working in these environments 24/7! I raised this onboard the boat however, not much was done due to circumstances involving management (POOR MANAGEMENT). I understand this could have been raised months prior to now however, as you could imagine myself and the kids are still traumatised from the experience we had will defo not be going back!

The scenery of London taken in on the Thames was breathtaking. The boat crew did a great job of narrating with a lot of sense of humor.

City cruises 24hr hop on hop off

Access to and from the pier was excellent, timetables easy to follow and understand, Ship was well presented, clean and tidy, facilities on board again clean and tidy, journey was very good, while we didn't download the audio guide, the crew did provide a running guide as to the buildings and the history, even threw in a little humor. Bar was expensive as you would expect, but staff nice and pleasant.

City cruise

I had a fabulous time with my daughter. Gill the tour guide was fabulous. His jokes were hilarious, and he was extremely informative as we passed all the tour sites. Leon at the Bar was also a great help, extremely friendly, and polite. Excellent communication and customer service. All round great experience.

Commentaries to be remembered

This was a Christmas present from our daughters. We took three trips in the 24 hours and all were excellent. The commentaries were all a bit different and each was excellent. We would definitely recommend this company and the cruise and can’t wait to do it again.

Excellent all round!

Amazing trip from Canary Wharf, first to Tower then after a good walk around, sailed up to Westminster. Lee provided a really interesting commentary on the way up from Tower. Highly recommend City Cruises. All staff were excellent. Thanks!

VERY disappointed - apparently they can cancel and not give you your money back

We got on the boat, got to the NEXT stop, and they canceled the tour due to winds and forced everyone to get off. We were aboard a total of 15 minutes and got dumped far from where we were heading. I was denied a refund because I booked through TA and not directly through the boat company. Direct was giving refunds, TA was not. Very very disappointed. This was supposed to be a 24-hour pass for the two of us to enjoy the city, and instead we got 15 minutes and a taxi fee to get where we wanted to go.
