This was a fantastic tour and great value for money. We did the bus in/boat back tour from Kununurra to Lake Argule. Spectacular scenery, great commentary and generous arvo tea. Saw crocs, eagles, and wallabies. Highly recommend.

A fantastic tour

This was one of the most well organised, professional but friendly, informative & educational guides I have ever encountered. The landscape is stunning. Definitely recommend if you are in Kununurra.

Discovery cruise on the Ord R with entertainment by Joe the cruise guide

This was a tour that I thought would be just OK. In fact it was outstanding . Beautiful scenery , lots of wildlife to view and most if all we were entertained by Joe , our guide, throughout the cruise down the Ord R. Joe was knowledgeable , patient with the patrons, clever and funny - with a very entertaining style . Don’t miss this tour if you come to Kununurra. And make sure Joe is working that day !!! We loved it .

Fabulous must do tour

What a great day out. We did the tour which was coach on out to Lake Argyle via Argyle Homestead with so much history. The lake and the Ord river and must sees in Kununurra. Great bus tour with Hazel and then the river tour with Mabo. Cruise on river was fast moving which made it enjoyable and cooled us down. Would definitely do this again.

Great guide, and pumpkin scones!

Very enjoyable trip, with guide Guiseppe (Joe) from Cardwell Qld. Pumpkin scones for afternoon tea onshore a lovely touch. a lovely last day of our APT tour.

Great Kunanurra experience

Cruising the river was wonderful and the scenery spectacular. Tour commentary was very informative - a relaxing and enjoyable break for North End travellers 👏👏🤪👍

Worth every cent

This would have to be equal to or better than any other tour that we have done in many years. Our guide, Joey was informative, funny and certainly knew how to handle a high speed jet boat. If you want to experience a thrill jet boat ride for 50+km on the Ord river, then this is worth every cent. At the same time, we got to see fresh water crocs and birds plus other animals and learned about the Lake Argyle water system.

Worth every penny

This was one of the best guided tours that we have done. The bus driver was very good and the boat skipper was above excellent.

A relaxing afternoon on The Ord

This was an amazing half-day tour. Pick-up at my accommodation by coach, amazing views of the Ord Top Dam, scenic cruise on the Ord River, tasty afternoon Tea, stunning sunset, photo stops for Crocodiles & drop-off at my accommodation by Coach are memorable highlights. Ord River Cruise

We took the cruise up the Ord to the dam wall. 55kms of beautiful scenery, changing to gorge country as we got closer to Lake Argyle. Great commentary and entertainment by Joey, our boat driver. We had afternoon tea with scones, cakes ,tea and coffee on the way back. It is a good fun trip with awesome scenery and lots to learn. Again, compliments to Joey.

Great Experience!

Joey was a fantastic tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We learned a great deal about the Ord River and it's relation to Lake Argyle along with information about birds and wildlife along the river. He was great a spotting all the things we needed to see. High tea was lovely. We highly recommend this tour. 5 hours may sound long, but the time flew.

An afternoon on the Ord.

Had a wonderful cruise with Marbo & Juana today. Marbo was very entertaining having valuable local knowledge and excellent vessel management of the waterways. We stopped frequently so he could show us points of interest. Thoroughly enjoyed our tour and totally recommend.

Awesome cruise

Awesome cruise, Jeff has a wealth of knowledge of the local history and the Ord river. He served up a delicious afternoon tea in a secluded spot. Sunset was beautiful. Highly recommend.

Stunning scenery, best day out

Amazing tour! From the bus pick up, museum tour, dam stop and boat cruise down the river, this day trip is well worth it. Stunning scenery and our skipper Marbo kept us well informed and entertained as we made our way back down the river for sunset. As his "self appointed deckie" he could have worked me harder but I can honestly say this is a day I won't forget 😀

Glad we did this tour

Initially not on our list of things to do but we are glad we have done this tour. Would highly recommend this tour company. It is well organised with very knowledgeable staff. The scenery was stunning and Jeff’s level of knowledge was astounding. We had a delicious afternoon tea and then an almost spectacular sunset which Jeff could not control. Mother nature presented some clouds at the wrong time.

Worth the trip

We did the trip with a bus ride to the Ord Dam and a cruise down t(e river back to Kununurra. The bus driver Hazel was lovely and really knew her stuff but all was lost as the amplification through the bus just did it work. Mabo the boat driver was quite a pleasant character with plenty of knowledge and heaps of ability to take us from the Ord river dam back to Kununurra. Afternoon tea provided was great and tasty. Our grips was that the boat seats were the most uncomfortable seats to have to endure for a 3+ hour trip. There were soft drinks supplied in cans for most people but nothing for those that only wanted water. It was paper cups and cold water at the back of the boat. You really couldn’t stand up as the standing area was far too small and the boat was fairly full. We saw a lovely sunset and saw some great fauna and flora.

Scenery and boat experience

We had a fantastic day. Boat is great. Not to be missed. Scenery spectacular informative and well coordinated. We did the boat up and back. Big day but really worth the effort. Mabo was our driver and was very professional. I think this would be the best experience to have in Kununurra

Was an amazing day first with our lovely coach driver Hazel was very knowledgeable and then onto our return boat cruise with Mabo was very knowledgeable and entertaining would highly recommend

A must do adventure

One of the most informative tours ever been on Guides did not stop sharing their knowledge & experience of the area up by bus stop at the homestead all so interesting & then back down the Ord with Mobo guide & enthusiast of everything. Ord River Discoverer Cruise with Sunset

Great half day on the river with the Ord River Discoverer Cruise with Sunset. The drive out was a good chance to see the country, a stop at the homestead was educational and interesting (complete with a bower bird!) a quick look at the dam from the top and then the best bit - the journey down the river, some parts slow, some parts fast! An absolute abundance and variety of wildlife. Our guide was really knowledgeable and the cold drinks were very welcome. The finish at sunset was timed perfectly. Can definitely recommend the half day on the water with this particular cruise.

A Must do Ord River cruise!

This is an amazing and interesting cruise up the Ord River to Lake Argyle dam wall and back. We were lucky to have only a few on board, so space aplenty to move around and take photos. Saw lots of crocs up towards the dam wall, although they are elusive and quick to hide in the water. Birds and a bat colony too. Had beautiful scones at a rest stop, fed the catfish- a very novel trip. Highly recommended.

Fun and Exhilarating

Wonderful luxury bus with Joey as captain, very informative. Exhilarating boat trip back up the Ord with Justin, he certainly knew how to ride those rapids. Lots of fun and photo opportunities and delicious afternoon tea with pumpkin scones and red papaw

Beautiful country, easy afternoon, good commentary.

Well run organisation and the bus trip to the lake was easy (picked up from hotel) and commentary was enjoyable. The cruise itself was awesome and also had good commentary and nice afternoon tea.

Well worth it

An interesting and fun tour with loads of info on local history and development of the Ord River dam as well as a local nature experience and a fun boat ride.. Afternoon tea was excellent too.

Amazing scenic river cruise

The Ord River has amazing scenery, and the tour guide has expert knowledge of the area. It was unexpected how beautiful this area is and equally enjoyed as much as the more famous Katherine Gorge.

A must do when in Kununurra!

Can highly recommend these tours - fabulous trip back by boat! Joey was awesome- loved hearing about the river and it’s fauna/flora, our lesson in catchment management was really interesting - plus his jokes!

Outstanding

We had a fantastic time on our tour. Our bus driver Jeff was very knowledgeable about the area and stopped at several interesting place. Our guide on the boat was also very knowledgeable. The scenery was superb and ever changing. Lots of wild life To be seen. The tour finished with an amazing sunset. Highly recommend this tour.

Excellent very interesting tour

Excellent Tour. Hazel was our busdriver. Ver knowledgeable and entertaining. We stopped at Durack homestead. Very interesting. Hazel even pointed out a rare Gouldian Finch at the bird bath. So exciting. Justin was our skipper also very knowledgeable and great skipper. Scenery was magnificent, only topped of by delicious pumpkin scones and local Juicy pawpaw. Ord River Ride

I have done the Triple J tour from the diversion dam to Lake Argyle or the reverse now three times. If I ever get back to Kununurra again I will do the trip again. If you are looking for fresh water crocs you will see plenty of them. For me the birds are of more interest, there are plenty of them, but if I didn't see a single bird the stunning beauty of the river and the rugged land would be enough. This is all seen from the shade of a comfortable boat. This is my favourite Australian tour. Joe Bainbridge

really worthwhile tour

This is an excellent tour, start to finish. Hotel pick-up was prompt and on both the bus trip and the boat the guides were very knowledgeable, the boat ride was spectacular and afternoon tea very good.

Feast for the Eyes

JUST AMAZING. Our guide MABO was extremely knowledgeable and funny. His guiding of our boat under rocky overhangs, close to shore to see sunbaking crocodiles, all the while taking care not to disturb them. The commentary on the different species of crocodile and explanations of the cage was interesting. Our afternoon tea stop was a surprise in a great setting. But... the sunset. OMG those red cliffs, was a sight I'll never forget. Do yourself a favour and don't miss this tour.

The guide was very knowledgeable and answered all questions. You would not have seen the sights we saw if not on this tour.

Wonderful cruise great guide!

Visited the Durack Homestead after doing the beautiful Ord cruise. Very impressed to see 2 Aboriginal Ilmas (wands) on the wall along with a few other Aboriginal artefacts- I was very excited to see them as they are only used in the Kimberley region. However no one knew anything about them - there was no descriptions or info. This seemed like a big omission as the Kimberley is rich with Aboriginal history and rare culture - such as the only place in the world where the Wandjina rock art is found. A few people who were on my tour commented that Aboriginal history seems to be largely ignored in this area while the Durack story is well known because of depictions in literature and film. A bit sad for the original owners of the country whose land was stolen from them.

Had a great day with Triple J Tours. A really enjoyable day with experienced and very knowledgeable guides. Jeff was terrific skippering the boat and knew the common and real names of every plant, insect, bird and river dweller we saw. Brilliant day out

Avoid duplication Wonderful experience. Word of mouth led me to Tripple J. Right from my first telephone contact, I was met with pleasantness and helpfulness. Collected on time and delivered to our boat. Vessel looked new and was very open and breezy. We met Lucas who was our guide and pilot. Wow! 4.5 hours went by in a flash. Great way to experience the Ord River and surrounding creeks. Lots of wildlife including multiple croc sightings. Driver/Guide was amazing. Excellent afternoon tea. A great experience.

Our tour began with Hazel providing a very informative commentary on the bus trip out to the dam, with the visit to Durack Homestead a highlight. The Jeff brought us back down the Ord River and Lake Kununarra to town. Jeff’s knowledge of the water and its inhabitants is amazing. We learnt heaps, and the delicious afternoon tea on the bank made the day complete.

Great information from the coach driver (Hayley or Heather, I think) Then the river cruise back with many stops for flora, forna, and wildlife with great narration from the Captain (Jim- I think).
