Wonderful cruise. Guide very informative and spotted numerous bird wildlife and about 20 cros. Did the late cruise so saw sunset spectacular. Highly recommend this cruise. Bring insect repellent as after cruise everyone was bitten.

Sunset Tour was terrific with so much wildlife seen. The lovely waterlilies were a picture. Crocs on the billabong banks and in the water were a highlight.

Amazing experience, a must do in Kakadu

Amazing place, just an incredible, fell in love with Kakadu doing this experience. The guides were so knowledgeable, and it was such an interesting place. My family loved this, the sunset cruise was one of the best experiences of our trip to the Northern Territory. We saw so many crocs, sea eagles, ducks and so much other wildlife. Would recommend this to everyone.

We did the sunrise tour it was fabulous, very natural. The tour guide was very respectful of the environment and all that live there, he was very knowledgeable and the views were amazing, didn’t disappoint

Don’t miss this cruise

So much wildlife to see and so much to learn about this gorgeous part of NT. This cruise gave us a special experience as the sun set - we even saw a Jabiru chasing a frog!

Yellow waters a must see

Dennis was our guide for the lunch time cruise on the yellow waters and it was a most interesting cruise. Excellent commentary was provided on the multitude of bird species, fish, insects, wetland flora, crocodiles and even down to how feral animals ate upsetting the ecosystems of Kakadu. Dennis mixed his dry wit, extensive knowledge and passion for his people and culture into a very entertaining journey through the wetlands. Yes, we saw some crocodiles, jabiru and even a sea eagle and other birds of prey. At times it felt like the sky and water were one and overall it was a beautiful experience in a peaceful and magical setting. Thank you Dennis😊

Wetlands delight

As it was early in season only a small group the guide was knowledgeable and humorous.explaining First Nations cultural practices and connection to land.we saw several crocs, lots of birds.great trip

Yellow waters cruise

A bit disappointed with this cruise having been on one to see Nitmiluk. Don was informative about plants and birds however lacked the local stories about the local clan experiences. In retrospect a morning would have been cooler and we may have enjoyed more. On a positive note, the lillies and sunset were amazing.

A wonderfull tome on the south aligator river

We were so happy with the evening cruise that we took the morning one as well. The scenary is amazing. And the tour well organized

The Dawn Cruise - A must!

Absolute magic! Seeing the natural world wake up... so many amazing birds, crocodiles (we saw 3), the sunrise, the peaceful atmosphere - unforgettable experience!

Fabulous tour

The sunrise cruise was amazing and Christie was a very entertaining and informative guide. We saw several croc’s, amazing birdlife and the water lilies were blooming.

A nottobemissed highlight!!!

We did the 9am cruise (I feared we would miss the best, but we certainly didn't! Taylor and Batch provided superb commentary and maneuvering our boat SO close to both crocs and birds! A nottobemissed highlight of Kakadu!

A loved experience of Kakadu bird and animal life, local culture and history

The highlight of our stay in Kakadu - super knowledgeable and excellent narrater, Don, led us to the spoils of whistling ducks, sea eagles, a jabiru, crocs along with local culture and history. We literally breathed the experience.

Stunning Scenery and Excellent Commentary

Our Yellow Water Cruise which we undertook mid morning on our second day in Kakadu was wonderful. The scenery was breathtaking, the birds were beautiful and we spotted three crocodiles. Our guide, Jess was exceptional her commentary demonstrated an extensive knowledge of the local wildlife, bird life and a sound understanding of indigenous culture. It was an absolute delight and so much so that we are going to do the sunset tour on our last day. Thanks so much Jess and the team at Yellow Water Cruises.

Trip highlight

We did the evening tour with Paul on the Monday 29th, Paul's knowledge and professionalism were fantastic ..but really loved that quiet moment when we were still on the water as the sun sank below the horizon Highly recommend

This cruise has been the highlight of our holiday so far. Chrissie is an amazing guide. Knowledgable, accommodating and loads of fun.

A lovely river trip

The guide was entertaining and very knowledgeable. The river cruise was just the right length, we didn't feel rushed but got to see plenty of the river and floodplain, lots of birds and a few crocodiles. An excellent way to see more of the country.

Serene and Educational Tour of an Amazing Ecosystem

We took a 2.5 hour 4:30pm boat cruise with Gecko Greg and had a great time. The trip started off a bit warm, but we ran into a rain shower that got the port side of the boat a bit wet. In the rainy season, I recommend taking a rain jacket for that reason since rain tends to come down at a somewhat non-vertical angle. Anyhow, we saw a variety of birds and at least 6 crocs. One caught and ate a fish while we were watching which was cool. Gecko’s jokes and stories kept us amused and educated on what we were seeing. I can’t remember all of the birds that we saw, but there were quite a few. Gecko and his motorman made sure we viewed several Jesus Birds up close walking on water. I have to say - Kakadu is an amazing ecosystem and our 2+ hours out on the water was incredible and serene. Highly recommend taking this tour to see this amazing part of the world virtually untouched by human hands.

Awesome Yellow Water Cruise

Dennis, our captain and guide was very knowledgeable and informative about the area and wildlife. He related stories of his own life to make the experience a truly memorable cruise. Awesome morning on Yellow Water Cruise.

Amazing trip , we went on Sunrise and it was just magical. Dennis was a great tour guide with so much knowledge and good humour . Well worth it.

Great cruise to get a flavour of Kakadu in the wet season

Excellent way to see the Yellow River region in the wet season. Spacious boat with good pilot, very knowledgeable and helpful. Pointing out nests, birds and trees. A lovely experience.

Pretty but not worth it

The scenery was beautiful, no crocodiles. Very expensive for just a ride on the river. Definitely not worth the money… or the gastro that came along with drinking their water that is provided in the boat. Cloudy and funky stuff floating- not realising until too late. Several people in our group who drank the water have ended up with medical attention.

Jess was a great tour...

Jess was a great tour guide, very funny and knowledgeable. We toured in wet season which meant we didn’t see any crocs but I we got to see a lot more of the water way. Would recommend :)

Must see

Mandy is an outstanding tour guide, sharing her heritage and family's knowledge of the area, wonderful. The cruise is absolutely stunning, with the best of Kakadu on display.

Lots of crocs and birds

We went twice - in the evening the first day then early in the morning on the second day. It is worth doing twice as in November it is so hot that there is nothing to see away from the water. Very good on-board guide.

Amazing light and crocodiles

Our sunrise boat cruise gave us plenty of opportunity to view a large array of birdlife and crocodiles. As keen photographers we got some amazing close up photos with the early morning light being perfect.

Magic in Kakadu

We took the early morning cruise for the birding. We were met by our skipper (Dennis with two "n's" but you can call me master) and after a safety briefing, travelled all of 30 metres before seeing our first croc and interesting birds. Dennis was an amazing guide with a truly engaging sense of humour who gave us so much insight and background to the species we saw as well as the area and the challenges Kakadu faces. This area is rich in wildlife and the birding was amazing. It was a privilege just to be there. Thankyou Dennis, hopefully we will return.

Kakadu Yellow Creek Billabong Cruise July 2023

Dennis our guide knew a lot about crocodiles and crocodile safety. He also entertained us with his jokes and his knowledge about the billabong. We were able to see a lot of the local bird life and many crocodiles. Our boat was able to get up close to the crocodiles on the shore of the billabong. I thoroughly enjoyed this cruise and I can highly recommend it.

So many birds - well worth doing this cruise

The local guide was very knowledgable with a good sense of humour. Loved the emphasis on ecology and conservation - so much wildlife with great scenery and sunset all in the one trip. Well worth a trip to Cooinda (Kakadu) to do this cruise. If you are driving a hire car stay at Cooinda Lodge (hire cars cant be driven between sunset and sunrise in the NT)

Great guide! He was knowledgeable, calm and the right amount of humor. Top notch experience. Saw alot of great nature and wildlife (crocodiles :) )

Birds at sunset

Our guide knew the river and floodplain very well. He was able to identify individual bird songs and locate them for us in the trees and grasses on the banks of the river. He shared his knowledge of indigenous language and customs. It was a really enjoyable cruise.

Interesting Evening

This was an enjoyable experience with an enthusiastic guide, though not the First Nation’s guide which was suggested in the marketing. Plenty of crocs, even more birds.

Great Cruise on Yellow Water

A most excellent trip on the billabong. Quite pricey but guide extremely well informed, chatty and keen we saw as much as she was able to spot; we were clearly not hurried and came away so much more knowledgeable about the wildlife, culture and landscape.

Great early morning boat trip

This was one of the highlights of our complete Australia trip. Great atmosphere in the morning and lots of great wildlife! We fully enjoyed that boat trip.

Highlight of our NT visit

My family (mom, dad, 2 teen boys, grandma) took the sunset cruise and it was a highlight of our northern territory as well as whole of australia visit. The scenery was beautiful, and we saw so many bird species as well as tons of crocodiles. The sunset was lovely, such an amazing atmosphere. Our guide Dennis was the best and was full of good information as well as jokes. It was a fun trip and a must-do in our opinion!

Outstanding way to see Kakadu up close

This is a wonderful experience! NO stupid jumping crocodiles. Just lots of crocs and other wildlife doing what they do naturally. There was plenty to see. The landscape is gorgeous. The cruise was not at all rushed. We had an excellent guide as we explored the billabong as well as up- and down-stream on the South Alligator River. Great value for money.

A scenic cruise on a beautiful river full of wildlife

An amazing trip on a quiet scenic river full of wildlife, including crocodiles and many kinds of birds. We went in the late afternoon. The boat was comfortable and the guide very informative. Bring a good camera, the photo opportunities are endless.
