Great trip!

Awesome tour! Our tour guide, Owen, was wonderful! Great stories, super personable. We got to see so many things we wouldn’t normally have gotten to do and it was great to have a comfortable bus to ride in. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Pretty destination, tour guide left a lot to be desired

Mark was rude and made sexist & racist jokes along with comments about a passenger’s weight that no one found funny. The audio system kept malfunctioning so he stopped giving commentary along the ride. Two stops were skipped, and when I questioned this he got defensive and said I was looking at a different tours itinerary when I pulled up the exact listing for this tour. Also there were 35 people on the tour- something I wish would have been mentioned when booking because it was a big larger than I was expecting. The reason I’m giving 3 stars is because the Isle of Skye & Fairy pools were incredible and worth the trek! I think with a different tour guide this could be really great.

Isle of Skye Day Tour Review With Mark

Our tour guide Mark was excellent! He made us laugh throughout the day and provided so many stories and so much history. His tour was a true pleasure. Isle of Skye and the castle were absolutely spectacular. I would highly recommend this tour.

Driver Mark was very funny and gave good commentary along the way. He was very considerate with many rest room stops.

Great value for money, a great day on and around Skye

I had a great time on Skye & at the Fairy Pools with Donnie and the group. Donnie was an excellent guide with an even better road trip playlist. All of the stops were well timed, and Donnie had plenty to tell us about each point along the way. I would highly recommend this tour if you're considering it!

Breathtaking Experience

Mark was a wonderful and experienced guide. He kept us entertained with his humor and knowledge of the area. We were able to have picture stops along the way and Evan had time for whiskey tasting on the way back. The best part was the stop at the Fairy Pools. This was absolutely breathtaking! Portree was quaint but actually not the highlight for me this trip. Just don’t miss the Fairy Pools and have some good walking shoes. It’s about 2 miles round trip.

Highly recommended if you want to see as much as possible on Skye

We had a wonderful day complete with great stories and wonderful sights. From meet and greet with the highland cows to the beautiful fairy pools. Memories were made.

Our tour guide was Donnie. He brought a fantastic personal touch to the tour that absolutely made the trip! An absolutely fantastic experience, definitely recommend the fairy pools! The water wasn't as cold as expected but I didnt allow myself enough time for a plunge, which I definitely regret! Would 1000% recommend sitting on the left of the bus for the best views.

Tour to beautiful places..

Fairy pools was lovely.. tour was ok too. The driver was good but he was going superfast. We are ok with his jokes but not ok with racist jokes though and called out passenger by nationality. Spoilt our mood for a while. Not very nice. Fyi we are asians.

Wonderful Experience

Went on the tour with my 11 year old son. Mark was a great tour guide with a witty sense of humor. My son and I loved this excursion the best of all booked during our 2 week stay in Scotland!

Good tour

Tour is good and lot of information ,photo stops, lunch break, rest room breaks. Tour guide was nice n lot of good stories.Before booking please consider following. **** not even an option to visit a castle it's just a photo stop **** not at all enough time to hike fairy pools till end or swim at all.enough time to roam around n take pictures If schedule is well organized then we would have hiked fairy pool.

Great Tour and Guide.

Mark, our tour guide, was excellent. We covered a lot of ground and saw many historical sites. Mark was very informative and a great bus driver, guiding us through the narrow roads of the Isle of Skye.

Amazing!

Our guide Owen was the best!! Super interesting and engaging. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. Hit all of the major sights we wanted to see while in the Highlands.

The mesmerising views were just awesome, it was out if the world, i would definitely go again , this was value for money and puckup and drop by the operator including commentary on board was great.

Great day at Skye and Fairy Pools

This was a great trip but a long day. Donny was very sweet. Sometimes it was hard to understand because the people in front of the bus heard everything and those in the back didn't. My suggestion is to have someone drive and someone give the tour (not the same person)

Average trip to Skye and Fairy Pools.

My wife walked to the fairy pools in heavy rain, and still enjoyed the scenery. I felt that our driver/guide could have provided more local history and information during the trip. On the way back, he basically talked to one person in the front seat and not to the entire group.

Great day with breath-taking views!

The highlands are a beautiful area. The drive was enjoyable and views were stunning. Loved the free-time in Portree, as well as all of the stops. The time at the fairy pools was just enough to complete the hike there and back.

Beautiful landscape worth seeing, but could have been much better organized

Isle of Skye is gorgeous! The landscape is not to be missed. The roads and weather made the drive challenging, but our driver handled it all exceptionally well. The plan for the day was not well communicated and sadly we skipped two of the stops with no explanation. There were a lot of extra bathroom stops that seemed to kill a lot of time that could have been better used. We had assumed that the castle entry fee not being included meant that it would be at our option - not that we would be told we could not go inside, even though we were at the castle for an hour and 20 minute bathroom stop! I think we could easily have made it inside as we had hoped to do. The Fairy Pool hike was amazing, even in horizontal rain! I wish we had brought an extra change of clothes for the ride back. Did not appreciate the way the driver publicly scolded some of the passengers, Also the audio system malfunction made it hard to follow some of his commentary. Overall a worthwhile tour, but room for improvement

Could be better

Good tour, but… Here are some things that would have made it significantly better: skip all the filler stops and allow more time at Eileen Donan. There is no need for coffee stop+lunch stop+bar stop. A quick stop at a sandwich shop would have sufficed. We paid for what the description promised, not the random stops. Also, why bother with 2 short stops at Eileen Donna. On the way to Skye and back. Neither affords enough time to see things. Skip this random stuff and figure out how to allow 1 solid hour at the castle.

Adventure day

It was a lovely day adventuring around Isle of Skye. Our tour guide was great! The stops were nice and lunch was a beautiful spot.

Beautiful Highlands

My husband and I took this trip for our anniversary and had a lovely time. I do wish we had a bit longer of a stop in Portree as we really only had time for food and a bathroom break after being behind some slow drivers. Mark was a blunt but fun driver as well. I am glad we got to see more of the Highlands and Skye on this trip.

Beautiful and full day trip!

Owen was a fantastic driver and guide. He even brought carrots for us to give to the highland cows. He knew just the right amount of time at every stop. Each stop was beautiful. Thanks for a great day trip!

We had a great tour with Stephen as conductor. Beautiful sights and plenty of time to enjoy Giants Causeway. Recommend 100%

Fantastic trip at Inverness

One of the best things done at Inverness and the tour guide and driver “dobby” made it so interesting also took some secret spots which is mind blowing! Plz ask him to take “secret spots “

A nice day!

Overall, this was a good experience. Our guides were very nice and tried to make everything interactive. The fairy pools were amazing. Parts of the hike can be steep, so keep that in mind if you're travelling with anyone with mobility concerns. My only complaint is that we completely skipped the castle, and were not given an explanation as to why.

Worth the trip

Tour was informative and set at a good pace. Fairy pools were amazing and bus was comfortable. Bus was well navigated on tiny roads.

Great tour

Donnie was great. He provided us with lots of historical facts and different stories about various areas as we traveled and made our stops. The views were breathtaking and loved it all. Great experience for my first tour.

We had a great day with Donnie! Even though we had a few technical issues with the microphone, Donnie adjusted as we went and made sure everyone had great experience!

Hiking in the highlands

This day trip was the highlight of our two week trip, truly the trip of a lifetime. Tour guide Donnie made everyone feel like friends and thanks for the secret stop 😉 I recommend comfy waterproof shoes and a rain jacket regardless of what the forecast says for the day.

Amazing trip. The driver and tour guide were lovely. I had three children with me and they were great with them. It was such a beautiful tour. I was blown away by the beauty of the Highlands.

Beautiful Fairy Pools

The fairy pool hike was beautiful. The day is pretty long but Peach is a great tour guide. I don’t know if I’d recommend doing this in April. The weather was pretty cold and made the hike not quite as enjoyable.

Highland Experience Tours-Careless and unreliable operator. Avoid please.

The tour operator ( Highland experience tours) canceled the trip and no curtesy was shown to bare minimum inform until 8.09 am through email. The starting time was 8.00 am. We reached the pickup / tour commerce point ( Waverley . Inverness old town ) around 7.45 am on 28th Oct. Had to call them and ask as no bus/mini bus showed up. All other operators were ON with same highland tours . Thankfully, WOW tours which is another operator accepted us and our day and disappointment was saved. We would never be again booking again with Highland Experience Tours . It’s also disappointing the Trip Advisor promotes such operators who lack basic hygiene. All it takes is to inform few hours in advance. Saves so much of trouble for travellers.

My wife and I had a great...

My wife and I had a great tour led by some of the best tour guides, Peach and Donnie. It was great to have locals give real accounts of history of the Highlands, tell stories, and share the beauty of this area. We not only explored some scheduled places, but also found a few other fun places such as Invermortisen Falls, the Talisker Distillery, and the Sligichan Bridge.

I have to say this was the absolute best trip and feel very lucky to have Donnie as our driver and the wonderful Peach as our guide they are a dream team if you are fortunate enough to have them as your guides you will not be disappointed It was a magical trip and they stopped at extra special stops that weren't on our itinerary I am speechless at what a great trip and experience this was so thank you very much

The tour was great but the best part was Peach and Donny. There was a weather related glitch in our later plans and Peach Resolved our problem. Lovely lady, great Guide. She and Donny were a great pair!

Inverness to Skye a day trip worth taking

Donnie and peach or excellent tour guides. They are both locals to the area and have extensive knowledge. The trip from Inverness through loch Ness to the isle of Skye was beautiful. The isle of Skye’s incredible site at every turn. It is an enjoyable trip to take, and the guides made it all the better.

Fairy Pool Experience

What an incredible day! Donnie was an excellent tour guide and driver. He took us to many spots- Urquhart Castle, Eilean Donan Castle/ beautifully lit at night. The town of Portree was quaint and a lovely lunch spot. The Fairy Pools were beautiful and we enjoyed the hike up and back. Donnie regaled us with interesting historic tales and trivia of Scotland. Most excellent music choices on the bus. It was an incredible day. Highly recommend Donnie as a guide and this tour.

Best tour hands down

This tour ended up being the highlight of our trip in Scotland. Peach and Donny were hilarious and so informed. The views are breathtaking, and the stops are unique and so much fun, making this the best tour my husband and I have ever done. P.S we loved the secret stop!

Don't book this day trip

I was waiting for the tour bus at the pickup point and it did not arrive. When I called them, they said the trip has been canceled. They gave very unprofessional reason for the cancellation and said we have sent email yesterday. Imagine you are waiting for dream vacation and the tour operator does not care to call you and inform that trip has been cancelled, you are stranded alone in an unknown city, miles away from home and wasting your day. Please save your day and your vacation and don't book from this operator.

Excellent tour!

Tour far exceeded expectations and would highly recommend! Could not have seen this much in one day navigating on our own!

The Great Disappointment

Nothing - it was canceled less that 12 hours before we were suppose to have the tour. Really disappointing.
