Overall really fun!

Fun and exciting! Everyone was really friendly and it was an overall really great trip. We particularly enjoyed the chocolate and wine pairing.

No pickup

The experience of the tour was great it was the miscommunication with viator that was horrible. Apparently there was no pickup available from our location never should have been offered per vendor! Vendor paid for our uber ride to a meeting spot & we paid the return to our hotel. We would like to request a refund of uber ride. Please contact me so I can send over uber receipt.

Good day out.

We had very generous pours from the winery’s. The chocolate and cheese pairings were great. The specific winery tour guides were very knowledgeable too. Unfortunately we did not get to go to one of the wineries listed (De Iuliis) I am not sure why this was. This was listed on the itinerary and we were looking forward to this place. We were not told why we didn’t go here. The driver is a driver only - no extra information provided about the area. He seemed to always be in a rush and was happy that he was getting an “early mark”. A great small group however and you can easily get to know people. In comparison to other winery tours we’ve done it is average for its price.

Fun day exploring the Hunter. A beaut location best enjoyed by letting the guide take you great places- and letting the worry go of driving home after gorgeous wine

Great winery, distillery and food tour

It was great being picked up by our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide Peter at our accommodation in Cessnock. Though there was a mix up with the first winery he quickly resolved the issue and a substitute winery was found. The choice of wineries was great. The distillery chosen was great and the presenter there was personable and engaging. Lunch was delicious. Peter was very understanding when we had to deal with a family medical emergency in another state during the tour. He also added an extra stop at a chocolate factory at the end. We were then deposited back at our accommodation at the end of a lovely day. The only disappointment was there wasn't more cheeses to be tasted but we think that was meant to happen at the missed winery who couldn't accommodate our tour that day.

Enjoyable Hunter tour

Great day, visited a number of wineries and enjoyed the wine and cheese pairings offered at a couple of the stops.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING

Our favourite parts were the distillery and the cheese and wine tasting. Tom was an amazing host driver and would definitely recommend this company to anyone I know that are coming up towards the Hunter Valley. I wouldn't change a thing about this trip at all, the entire experience was great. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Fantastic tour! Cheeks our tour guide was awesome! Very well organised, didn’t feel hurried, beautiful wineries and cheese tasting. Lunch was yum!! Bought lots of wine and cheese. Would highly recommend!

Tom was an incredible host! From welcoming us at our accommodation (not on the pick up list but was not a problem for him) all the way through to the end of the day has been a sensational experience.

Tom was our tour guide and WOW it was one of the best experiences. I enjoyed every part and Tom was one of the most genuine, kind, fun and organised tour guide ever. Would 100% recommend! No negative comments, his service was amazing and everywhere he took us, we loved and the staffed loved him also.

Couples weekend away

Really enjoyed the tour. It was my second time and we only went to two places that were the same, but at these we tried different wines and cheeses in different sections of the winery, so it felt like completely new tour. Our driver Mark was so lovely! Very knowledgeable about the area, whilst also being fun and charismatic. The food at lunch was delicious and excellent quality. We got a taste of such a range of spirits, wines, beers, cheeses and chocolates. It was a great way to get a good broad view of what the Hunter Valley has to offer.

Amazing day with an amazing driver

We booked the wine tour pretty late and it was the best decision we made. An incredibly fun day despite the rain. The driver was friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. The venues we visited were welcoming and lunch was scrumptious. To top off the great experience, when we stupidly forgot our delicious cheese on the bus (in an esky provided by the driver) he made a special trip back to our accommodation to get it back to us. Highly recommend!

Running late and rushed tour

The Tour was running late so felt like it was extremely rushed throughout the whole experience, The driver was telling the wine tasters and guides that they needed to be quicker and hurry up. Chocolate tasting was pretty much non existent and cheese tasting was rushed and extremely quick with no explanation from operator. Lunch provided was good however and bus was very comfy

Really fun day. We visited some great places. The driver was friendly, fun and had a great sense of humour.

Not the best wine tour.

Not the best wine tour to the Hunter Valley winyards. Don’t recommend to anyone. Driver / Guide always late, in a hurry. Not very pleasant, not funny at all, short in words and explanation about the trip and the area visited. Also terrible choice of cellar-doors and winyards, not much interested about explaining and selling their own product, with poor quality service and product-tasting. Disappointed as I have done much better tour in the recent past with local guide.

Hunter Valley Daytrip

Good fun trip. Very relaxed and laid back. Driver was a treat and very entertaining. Would definitely recommend to all.

A nice day - don’t understand 5-star ratings though

The day was fine - no issues. But I have certainly had more enjoyable wine tours in the Hunter. Meant to finish at 4, didn’t get back to the hotel til after 5. Tour guide was very laid back but meant that we missed our afternoon activity booked through the hotel. Didn’t go to the best wineries, only visited 3-4 in 7 hours. Lunch was nice but overall I don’t think it was worth the $358 for 2 people when in reality I could have just driven us around for the same result (the amount of Alcohol consumed today meant I would still be able to drive). I am not sure if Easter crowds have affected this review.

Great Day Out

My husband and I have never been on a wine tasting tour before and were apprehensive as it was going to be a long day. We needn’t have worried though, as the moment we stepped on the bus we were made to feel welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, learnt a lot about wine, food was lovely and the distillery was fun. There was no pressure to buy and we would highly recommend this company.

Perfect for new people!

Great experience for people new to the Hunter Valley region! Everything was extremely delicious, and people were amazingly friendly and approachable.

Really great experience for a first timer. Got to taste many different wines, chocolate, cheeses and vodkas which gave us a lot of variety.

Experience Hunter Valley Highlights in a Day

Great tour, with a great guide, not rushed perfect amount of time. Loved the cheese pairing and chocolate pairing!!!

Amazing Experience

We were in a group of 4 on the bus which carried 18 in our entire group. Our group of 4 were the oldest over 50, but we are young at heart. We had a fantastic time with the young people on the bus all under 30. The wine tour was very informative, particularly the young girl hosting the tour at de Iuliis - top marks to her. The cheeses were fabulous and likewise the chocolates. The distillery was really great. Money well spent.

Great times in the hunter

Had a great tour of the wineries, made some new friends, Mark our driver was super friendly and entertaining throughout the day, very patient with the group and our drinking, the bus was nice and spacious. Would definitely recommend and do it again

Good fun

We booked this trip as a group of three couples to get a hint of the wine region. Pick up was from our hotel and due to COVID we ended up in a mini van just the six of us. Our guide Greg was knowledgeable and fun and we had a very enjoyable day learning about the wine making process and sampling lots of different varieties. First stop was De Iuliis where we were given a tour of the process and Shaun our guide was informative and interesting. He had confirmed white wine drinkers trying and buying red wine. This winery was the highlight of the day! From there we had cheese and wine at Wynward Wines which we all found a little disappointing after our first stop. It didn’t feel like we had our guides attention as he kept disappearing and it felt like not enough care was being given to explaining and engaging. It was also disappointing that the most of the wine was not made in the Hunter. Lunch next door at Twine was lovely. From there we visited the Hunter Distillery which was so much fun. Two of us even tried the chilli vodka! Last stop of the day was Glandore Estate where chocolate was paired with the wine. This had so much potential but somehow fell a little flat. Most if the wine was red which was a bit of a problem for half the group who are confirmed white wine drinkers. The four chocolates didn’t really match either - they were truffles and we felt squares of Flavoured chocolate would have worked better. It was a great day and we had a lot of fun but it was unfortunate that the best winery was the first stop of the day. It would have been good to taste some sparkling wines too. We enjoyed the day but with so many wineries, cheese makers and chocolatiers in the region not sure that the best were visited on this occasion.

Lovely Day in the Hunter

Awesome tour and a great day out! Our driver (Rob) was excellent and extremely nice and accomodating. Drank lots, bought lots and had a lot of fun with our group!

Hunter Valley Wine ( perfect)

Our driver (Colin) was excellent, on time and professional the tour was great and we learnt a lot from some very passionate winery people. One suggestion the wine tasting and cheese straight after lunch might have been more enjoyable had there been at least 30-45 minutes break, otherwise couldn’t fault it .

Birthday date

The only complaint would be that the distillery should be last , and maybe let people know what colour mini bus their getting picked up in so they don't get on the wrong one like we did and we were told it's happened many times before but the people were lovely about it all thank you for a great experience.

Winery + Lunch + company =❤️❤️❤️

Sam (Driver) was full of knowledge, about everything around the Hunter Valley. So easy to talk to and great music in the bus. (It’s so nice to see that there are people out there, that truly love their job.) It’s nice that there was only 8 people on the bus tour. We all had a laugh and chat together. It was perfect winery, perfect lunch and great company.

Colin - the real MVP!

Such a wonderful experience for my best friend and I! A great way to experience Hunter Valley without worrying about driving. Stopped by some cute boutique wineries, which we wouldn't have known about prior to the tour, and ended the tour in a beautiful location. Definitely recommend this tour! If you get Colin as your tour guide - even better!

Amazing, fun, and delicious tour all round!

A great day that delivered everything it promised! Went to some great wineries which were very informative and learnt a lot about the wine in the Hunter Valley. The cheese and chocolate tastings were also amazing. Our guide Sam was great too, easy going, fun and kept everyone involved the whole day. Would definitely do this tour again and recommend to friends!!

This is the second Zephers tour I have done in the Hunter, this time bringing along a friend from overseas. I have also done other tours in the Hunter but this one is always the most fun - we had Sam as our guide (Jan 2020) and he was funny, helpful and kept the spirits high in the group (and provided great tunes), he made the trip even more fun. As before, we went to some great wineries (the Hunter Valley Resort is the stop I always enjoy least, but the cheese is great and all the other tours stop here too) but don't let that stop you. You will drink great wine (and learn lots about the region and wine itsefl), you will enjoy great cheese & lunch, taste vodka and have a chance to b some chocs, all whilst enjoying amazing views of this beautiful region - and you will have heaps fun, meet a great group of around 20 people and enjoy your whole day. We always choose to drive up and stay in Hunter, but we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour! Enjoy!

Amazing!!!!!

Had an amazing time! Phenomenal guide Ronnie had lots of character and was super engaging and insightful!!! Wine, cheese, liquors and chocolate was also incredible! Highly recommend!

Loved it

Amazing trip worth every moment! Dave was a wonderful tour guide and was early at the pick up point and waiting for us. His driving was great and the group that I was joined with was also very easy to get along. Dave proceeded to show us 3 different wineries with one also servig cheese with wine, which all were lovely. The package also included a visit to the chocolate shop and it was all together, an amazing experience. We were sad to say bye to each other at the end of the day but for its price tag especially, it was a bargain experience.

Not Zepher Tours

It was interesting because we booked with Zepher Tours but it was Hunter Valley Day Tours who picked us up and then driver worked for them and not Zepher. We had the option to book with HVDT but we chose Zepher because of past reviews.

A fun day out amongst the vines

As a group of six friends, we met our bus in Cessnock and with our very friendly and knowledgeable guide we had a fabulous and relaxing day out, visiting wineries that we had not been to before. Our first winery we visited was very informative and we were provided with a lesson on the differences between the different wine varieties and how they are produced. We had perfect weather on the day and the last winery we visited, Leogate Estate Wines, had amazing views from the tasting table. Such a shame we couldn't have spent the rest of the afternoon here! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and it was a perfect way to enjoy wine tasting in the Hunter without the stress of having to delegate someone in our party as the designated driver. Highly recommend.
