A fantastic day out with Pippa from Hunter Valley tours. We visited bespoke, boutique wineries and stopped for a delicious lunch. Pippa is a fabulous tour guide who is knowledgeable and very friendly. Highly recommended.

Wines and kangaroos!

Nice company, fine wines, food and cheese. And we got to see live kangaroos on multiple occasions! All in a beautiful scenery. This was very much worth the money.

Perfect wine tasting day in HV

Julie set up a perfect day of wine tasting for us. She knew exactly when we needed food, when we were ready to move to the next winery, and her pick of wineries were a perfect fit for us.

Excellent wine tasting, lunch disappointing.

We visited some lovely vineyards and the hosts were very welcoming. The wines were excellent. The driver (Bruce) was great and very relaxed. The lunch was a picnic and similar to the chees board morning snack, rather than the sample menu on the advert, which was disappointing.

Worth it!

Great experience. Our accommodation was 20km out of the Hunter but Julie was nice enough to organise a lift for us. All vineyards were great. Food was pretty awesome. Would gladly do it again! Thanks for the great birthday weekend

Fantastic Hunter Valley small winery tour.

Friendly bus driver. Plenty of & good range of wines to taste at smaller family owned wineries. Pick up & drop off at accommodation. Shared the experience with 3 other couples from Australia & NZ.

Great time had by all

The bus driver Bruce was amazing. He was polite, kind and funny as well as he couldnt do enough for us even going out to get some pkts of chips as some of us hadnt eaten before the tour. The wineries were boutique specalist there was only one winery that were not pleasant and rude. Bruce was so apologetic. Otherwise a good day was had by all. Love the cheese and chocolate at the end of the tour.

Well-organized, relaxing, enjoyable day out

Julie planned a well-organized full-day wine tour. She picked my wife and I up from our hotel in the morning and we were joined by one other couple in the morning plus another 8 or so people in the afternoon. We went to 4-5 different vineyards + a spirit shop + lunch in the middle. Almost all the vineyards were great with welcoming, educating hosts. Highly recommend if you're not sure where to begin with your vineyard search and/or just want a relaxing day with everything planned out for you.

Well coordinated. Friendly and very helpful guide, felt like we’d known each other….. made us all feel comfortable.

Underwhelming experience

Comfortable bus and lovely driver. Wineries were slightly underwhelming. Felt like some were targeted to the wrong crowd (crass humour). Wish we had visited some of the bigger wineries (e.g., Tyrrell’s or Audrey Wilkinson). Meal was also disappointing - hoped for a meal at a boutique winery but instead went to Four Pines Brewery, which isn’t unique to Hunter Valley. We met some lovely people on the tour but wish that we had more definite list of wineries we were visiting, so we could make a more educated choice.

Great day !

We had a great day! The bus was very comfortable and all the winery stops were great! Julie our driver was amazing! We could put on our own music and sing our hearts out and at some points she even joined in !

Thoroughly enjoyable Wine Tour

We booked a private tour for four friends from Queensland on a Mercedes bus with Julie. Julie was a pleasure to work with arranging our custom vineyard tour. We were collected from our hotel in Newcastle by Julie. Julie‘s experience and hospitality was outstanding. We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour and Julie’s company. Especially enjoyed our wine tasting at Binet Family wines which was recommended by Julie.

Fun, full day

Our driver, Bruce, was an awesome. We were taken to wineries where everyone was knowledgeable and really friendly. Great way to meet people and have fun. You get a lot of day for your money.

A great day out

We had a great day out with our drive Bruce. The selection of venues were all good except lunch at the brewery which was less than average with many of us not finishing our meals.

We had a wonderful full-day tour with Julie in her gorgeous new van. She was just the right combination of friendly and professional, as well as quite knowledgeable about the wineries she took us to. She’s also a great driver and skilled at moving chatty customers from one spot to another without being obnoxious!

Julie once you meet her she will become your 👯‍♀️ BFF. Her smile, energy, and positive attitude is always present to make sure you have the best time of your life. Her energy is infectious. Even though I have countless girl friends who are close and supportive. I know in my heart of hearts that Julie is the one person in this world that you can trust and rely on in your time of need. This personal relationship is reflected in how she conducts herself with every customer on her tour bus as priority one. If you are interested or looking to have someone guide you through the Hunter Valley winery countryside. Then my best advice to you is not to hesitate. Call Julie and book her for the adventure of a lifetime. I can HONESTLY say you will not regret it.

Our travel company which I will not name left us high and dry. They booked events with out prearranging transportation for us. With less than 24 hours notice After calling 6 other hunter valley transportation agencies. The manager of HV Tours Julie answered our cry for help. She was able to rearrange her team of transportation experts all very well qualified experienced drivers and arrange transportation for us to two totally different locations and we were even allowed to join her prearranged group on their last stop as a special treat to us. Her service was so amazing and very much appreciated that we booked a second trip in two days. We thank you so much Julie May your path in life always be bright beautiful and full of sunshine and happiness.

Our second tour with HV Tours and it was just as good!

Can’t recommend HV Tours enough! We used HV Tours in January 2022 and had such a good time with Julie that I booked another tour for my birthday this year. We had Craig as our driver and he was fantastic, very knowledgeable and super fun - even gave me a birthday bottle of wine. We all had so much fun and will definitely be coming back again soon!

Best vineyard tour experience ever and I have done heaps.

Julie the tour guide was very professional and had a extensive understanding of the historic vineyards and close relationship with the owners of the vineyards we visited. I highly recommend HV tours as your tour guides.

Wine tasting

We tasted a lot of lovely wine. A lot more tasting than we expected. The hosts at the vineyards were very knowledgable and very friendly. A must for anyone who wants to taste good wine

Full day tour

Visiting boutique wineries that we haven't previously been to, experiencing their products and seeing some more of the Hunter Valley.

Our fun filled wine tour

Julie was our host for the day, she was amazing and informative. From wines to vodkas and gin along with cheese and chocolates. And a nice stop for lunch. A wonderful experience.

Good wine and good day out

The experience was great and enjoyed the wines . Having done a few wine tours it was a little disappointing that the driver did not explain the various stops as the last visit was food tasting only and the penultimate one was a “bottle shop” . The lunch was excellent

Boutique winery visits

Had a nice day in the Hunter. Our first wine tour of the region and it was lovely to go to boutique wineries that we otherwise wouldn’t have visited. The bus was clean, air conditioned and wheelchair accessible. We were able to visit 4 wineries and a distillery as well as a cheese/chocolate tasting and a brewery for lunch. Only two downsides! One was the distillery felt like we were sitting at a BWS. But mostly was that we felt that out driver (Don) was a bit distant. On other wine tours we felt like the tour guide involved themselves and chatted through the day, today not so much. Other than that we had a great day and would recommend.

Amazing experience

This was a fantastic half day tour. Perfect combination of wine tasting, cheese and chocolate followed by liqueurs. Julie was so friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour.

Amazing!

Chris bookended the day with his easygoing banter as well as filling the day with with information about the region. His selfie skills were matched by his knowledge, making the whole day an amazing experience from pick-up to drop off. The boutique wineries, chocolate and cheese outlet made for an extremely enjoyable day. Being a small group we were able to meet everyone and engage with all at the wineries/distilleries we visited.

Full Day Wine and Food Tour

Excellent Hunter Valley Experience. Well organised and executed. Visited 6 Cellar Doors all presenting a great variety of wines with good descriptions and background information. 3 Cellar Doors in the morning followed by a welcome lunch and then 3 more cellar visits before finishing with cheese made the day just fly by. Julie was a very friendly and knowledgeable host who lives locally and knows her wine region. Highly recommended!

Exceptional service !

This was my second time using this company and I was extremely happy with the service yet again! I will continue to use this company for all future Hunter valley bookings. They were easy to communicate with, kind, informative and fun! They were also extremely accommodating to my group and I having a 5 month old baby with us, they ensured we had a private tour so our baby doesn’t disturb other people on the tour, they allowed us to instal our own baby seat in the van, and were extremely accommodating as we needed to take the pram in and out and strap the baby in and out. Such a wonderful family owned business! :)

Fun day wine tasting

Great experience. Our driver Dave was wonderful too. Tasted many great wines. Lunch provided several options. Food was wonderful.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Julie was amazing! The tour was great! Long, so pace yourself with the tastings. I love that we did a chocolate & cheese, and spirits tasting alongside the wine tastings. One of our stops wasn't prepared for us, but Julie didn't miss a beat and quickly called another winery the welcomed us in right away. Also, many of the spots was BEAUTIFUL!

We had the opportunity to visit some lovely boutique wineries with a great group of people Our host, Dave was very knowledgeable & a fantastic tour operator Only thing we would have changed was the last stop we weren’t overly impressed with the stop over at the confectionery shop

Fabulous full day tour!

Just had a fab day out with Julie on a full day wine tour. Starting with a small but enthusiastic family run business and on to bigger wineries in the area. Not to mention the cheese and olives, gin and fruit liqueurs then finishing with cheese and chocolate! What more could you want! Julie is knowledgeable on the area, answering all our questions and is a great host and driver. Definitely highly recommend her tour.

Super Hunter valley wine tour

This was a great tour. Julie was fabulous and fun. The tour bus was clean and very comfortable. The tour itself was set up to experience the area winners from a start up location to seasoned ones with nice tastings at each. We were provided a morning and afternoon snack as well as a filling lunch - all were tasty! The pick up and drop off was a nice touch. Definitely recommend this tour!

Great Day

We were booked with another tour company for the Hunter Valley Wine tour, to be picked up at Newcastle. Two days before we got an email from the tour company that they wouldn't be able to pick us up and arranged with Julie at Hunter Valley Tours and we were the lucky ones. Julie is outstanding, friendly, professional and went out of her way to pick us up at Newcastle. We had a great time, great group and great tour guide. Beautiful part of Australia and very excited to final see wild kangaroos. Thanks Julie.
