Best way to LEARN surfing and have fun doing it.

Private lesson was terrific. Could not surf at all to start with. I wanted to learn to ride a wave and I ended up riding many. Jason the surfing instructor is terrific and knows exactly the process to get you surfing and keep improving. I absolutely loved this experience and it’s the highlight of this year for me. Got a second lesson two days later and learnt a lot again from Jason. I feel like I’m set to keep surfing now. Next time I’m visiting Gold Coast I’ll no doubt pop in again.

My daughter had a lesson with Jason and she can’t stop talking about how great it was. Jason was a fantastic instructor and put her completely at ease. If you go with a good attitude and trust your instructor there’s no way you’ll be disappointed

Goegeous day at Spit Beach! The waves were perfect for beginners - able to stand up after just a few tries. 5 stars.

Great for family with young kids

We're a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids aged 7 and 9) from Hong Kong. We had a great time with the private surf lesson. The coach was very attentive and accommodation. Our kids learned to surf with the basics within 30 minutes! Adults had difficulty, the coach was very encouraging. We'd definitely try this again when there's a chance.

Best surfer company ever!!

I can't say enough good things about get wet. The instructors are relaxed, happy, knowledgeable and keen to help. The groups are small so you get the benefit of individualized advice based on your level. The transport was always on time and super friendly drivers. The office were very accommodating as I kept adding more (and then more) classes. I did four but wish I could've done more. I spent a bit of time watching other surf school classes before booking. The other classes in surfers paradise were large and I saw people getting no help at all. I'm so glad I booked with Get Wet instead (a couple in one lesson said they tried another company first and it was terrible, after their first class with Get Wet I think they were booking more). All the instructors over my 4 classes took the time to tailor their advice to my specific technique (Or lack of 😂). They also advised on waves, surfing ettiquette, how to pick surf spots, and safety. All the tools you need to go it alone. But to be honest, I had so much fun with these guys I wouldve booked more lessons! Thank you to the wonderful office team, drivers and fantastic instructors. Special thanks to Jack and Emilio who were just so encouraging. Doubt be in any doubt that this is the absolute best surf school you could pick.

Bad company with poor equipment and insufficient instructors

My family of 6 paid for a 2 hour private lesson. We have surfed twice before but are basically beginner level. This surf company was disappointing. They had terrible equipment. Didn't have adequate sizing for mandatory surf shirts. The ratio of surfers to instructor was 6 x 1. That is insufficient, particularly considering the level of instructor we had. Very young and inexperienced. 1 of the 6 never surfed. I stopped surfing after a few rounds because it was so chaotic and my children were not receiving the private attention I had requested and paid for. They should have provided 2 or 3 instructors for our group. Instead, I feel like I got shortchanged having paid 420 AUD when only 3-4 of us could surf. Bottom line. I wouldn't recommend this surf company to any beginner family or group. If you go, make sure you demand and require at least a 1 x 3 ratio for private instruction. Also, I would also bring your own equipment and gear. You will be disappointed with what they provide.

Great first surf lesson for newbies!

Honestly I was pretty nervous about surfing, I'm not good in water so it's never been top of my to-do list, but I'm so glad I did! Andrew had me standing up within the first few attempts and smiling the whole time, actually gaining confidence rather than getting down about failures - the best kind of instructor for nervous newbies!

We’ve done group lessons with Get Wet previously and they were great. This trip my 10yo did a private lesson with Andrew. He’s amazing with the kids. My son thoroughly enjoyed his lesson and grew in confidence and enthusiasm for surfing. It was a beautiful morning at the Spit. We’ll be back.
