Ben was a great and indefatigable tour guide, very articulate and responsive. He provided interesting background information, music, anecdotes, and humor. The castle, national park, and lake/loch cruise were a wonderful way to see non-city Scotland.

Just what we'd hoped for

Our driver/guide Grant was knowledgeable, personable, and funny. The scenery is spectacular and the tour of the castle was better than expected, and the typical Scottish on and off rain didn't put a damper on the day.

Remarkable and breathtaking

Ally P was a fabulous guide — Knowledgeable, inclusive and funny. He made sure to take pictures for solo travelers. Stirling Castle and Loch Lomond and everything in between was breathtaking. Will definitely do more tours with Rabbie!!

We had the best tour guide/driver ever. Lizzie is a wonderful story teller. Her historical stories came alive and made the day trip so much more interesting. We really enjoyed this small group tour. I highly recommend this day trip!

excellent tour

Jeff C (I think our driver's name was, sorry that I've forgotten), was funny, informative, and brilliant at making the group welcome. I could have spent a day at the amazing Stirling Castle and Loch Lamond was stunning...as were all the side visits and roads we were taken on. The day seemed over far too soon,

Great Guide, Great scenery, Great Day!

The tour guide Grame ( and his assistant Steven) were prompt, informative, helpful and good tour guides! Grame was a wealth of historical and local knowledge, and just a delight! The Castle visit and commentator was good ( just wish there was more time (an hour) to explore more! Lunch stop was a nice respite, and it was a nice town to stop at! Lake cruise was relaxing and informative, and a great view of the Hills (Highlands)! Enjoyed the day!

Great day trip to Stirling Castle and the Highlands.

If you’re looking for a day trip to get out of the city and see the Scotland countryside this is the trip for you. Vans are very comfortable. Tour is very chill and laid back. Graeham was an excellent guide and was very knowledgeable about the history of Scotland. You will not be disappointed with this tour.

The Guide Makes the Ride!

The entire trip was great! Our guide, James, provided facts, stories and even a few well-placed jokes. I’ve been on these types of excursions before, and the guide’s attitude and knowledge are the two defining factors. James’ attitude was confident, competent, and one of service to others! He made the experience great!

What a wonderful day. Our guide John took us through the gorgeous back roads and provided so much history and humor. We loved the day and his recommendations for lunch and shopping. Stirling castle did not disappoint our tour was so informative and fun.

Marvelous experience

Despite the fact that we had some unique travel requirements, Tom made it work for us. He went out of his way to ensure we had a good visit. In addition, he is very knowledgeable and will even sing for you.

Great intro to the highlands.

Truly enjoyed the Castle tour. Particulaly the highland regiment museum. Wish we had more time. Guide was fun and knowledgeable.

Wonderful experience

Great tour, resourceful guide Nick, recommended! The weather was great we headed to Loch Lomond in the morning and had a nice lunch during the break. We went to the castle and spent the entire evening in the amazing castle with amazing view. Really worth it

Must do!

I loved seeing the highland cows, the small town we stopped to eat had really good fish and chips. The whole trip was worth it and our tour guide was great

Nice Pace and a Great Value

Our second great Rabbie's tour, this one out of Glasgow, departing out of the Buchannan Bus Station. This was the Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond and Cruise Tour. Our guide Reiss was well informed and very kind. There was only one other couple with a child on our cruise, which was really nice. The pace was relaxing without being boring, with just enough stops for food, breaks, sightseeing and lunch. The castle is very well kept, with great views, but it is not really furnished. Still a nice visit. The Loch Lomond cruise was great, only three other couples on the boat, one of the perks of a winter visit. There is coffee and a bar on board for purchase. The cruise gives a good view of the shore and area, and there is a nice narrative describing what you are viewing. There are restrooms on board the boat as well. Not too long of a cruise, and despite rain, it was still nice, we were glad we did it. Stopped in at Aberfoyle for lunch, we ate at the Fairy Tree. We ran short on our lunch hour because we were busy getting an impromptu fire station tour from Fire Captain Iain, but it worked out fine. The drive home was beautiful. The tour allowed us to return in time to still have dinner when we got back. We also booked the Edinburgh St Andrews and Fife tour just a few days earlier, which we also highly recommend. Great value, nice pace, highly recommend this tour. **Don't forget to tip your driver**

We had a wonderful day with our tour guide (Old) Cameron. He was very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area's history and all the sights we visited. During our ride, he played scottish bagpipe music which enhanced the whole experience along the way 😊. We'll definitely come back and book a tour with Rabbies again sometime in the future. Lochs and Castles - a perfect day

I booked this tour last minute when I found that I had whole day free in Glasgow. The tour was great. It delivered everything promised and more. Our driver was great. He was very knowledgeable and took care to make sure that everyone had their needs met.

Lovely day visiting Loch Lomond & Stirling castle

Ian was a wonderful tour guide and driver! Lot of fascinating geography, history, culture including music covered. Enjoyed boat trip around Loch Lomond, lunch in town, the scenic drive to Stirling castle plus the tour. We didn’t have lines, traffic was minimal and we enjoyed our grp of 11 Thanks to Ian for such a lovely day!

Perefect Experience

James (driver/guide) was exceptional and extremely passionate. He made this day trip delightful and we learned so much history from him. We were taken to scenic places for photography as well and overall the whole trip felt just perfect. To top it up, it was also sunny 😊

Great Option to get to Sterling Castle

If you're looking for a trip to Sterling Castle from Glasgow, this is a great option. Spent a good amount of time at the castle and a few little towns along the way. Cameron our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and shared some great history throughout the tour. The tour of Loch Lomand by boat was a little underwhelming but it was good to be out of the rain and inside a boat. For reference, we took a separate tour with the same tour company the next day where we went to the Western highlands and got to view much more of Loch Lomand as we drove North than I feel we got to see from the boat cruise. So if you're goal is Sterling Castle, this trip is great. If you want the Highlands and a more scenic view of Lock Lomand I suggest the Oban/Glencoe/Loch Lomand tour

Awesome Tour and the Tour Guide was Fantastic.

Castle with tour (highly recommend), towns we visited, and cruse of the loch was a fun family trip and learned a lot of history as well. Beautiful views and lots of pretty pictures.

Fantastic!

This was simply a magically glorious day. George was a lovely guide and Hamish was a great addition to our tour! We were so lucky to have a rain free day and the landscape and scenery was just breathtaking. I can't recommend this daytrip enough!!

A Memorable Castle and Loch Experience

This tour is an excellent sample of the rural regions beyond Glasgow and fitted in perfectly with our short time in Scotland. Being cooler weather meant small participant numbers but the tour was guaranteed and we really appreciated that, as we would have been disappointed to miss it. Stewart was an excellent guide, enthusiastic and informative about Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond and other Scottish topics of interest. We basically had a private tour and appreciated the easygoing conversation, the stories, info and music he shared with us along the way. He managed the entry tickets and meeting times in a no fuss way and really made this experience memorable and lively for us. We loved the visit to Stirling Castle and had two hours to enjoy that. The cruise on Loch Lomond was a great way of experiencing the waters and landscapes. Recommended.

Stirling, Castle of Scotland

Well worth the price of admission. Did a self guided walking tour which allow freedom to explore at leisure. I think Stirling is better than Edinbught castle.

Stirling Castle is a must

Stirling Castle is a must. Amazing views from the castle. The cruise of the loch was good but the pa system was not very clear. Nicola our guide was brilliant.

Nice day out

Had a great time on this day trip! We were a small group (just 4 of us and our tour driver James). James was chatty and full of information and he made the tour fun. Loved visiting the castle, felt like I needed more time to see everything fully though. We stopped in a nice village called Callander for lunch and we enjoyed the Loch Lomond cruise although it was a bit wet and windy, but it is October so expected!

Easy Countyside Tour with an Epic Castle, Scenic Cruise & Interesting History

Easy drive with nice stops and a reasonable start time (9am). Our guide, Jeff, was both humorous and informative. The Sterling Castle was truly an exceptional historical castle which has been beautifully preserved for generations to come. The drive was scenic and hilly, and lunch was in a cute little town. The cruise was calm and relaxing. Overall, it was a great way to see parts north of Edinburgh in a day without having to drive yourself and in a small group.

Despite bad weather tour was great

Tom the tour guide was terrific. The weather was awful but he made the experience a nice one. Will definitely come back in the spring when the chance of better weather is good.

Sterling Castle is an absolute must for history buffs.

Rabbie’s tours and drivers (in this case, lames) guides are phenomenal. Also at Sterling Castle , we had a guided tour by one of the Castle’s guides - and he did a great job as well. If you’re a history buff, you’d have the the opportunity to visit a very near intact castle that was built in either the 11th or 12th century and if you take the tour, you’ll get a good overview of the major events and battles that occurred in the lands that surround the high hill the Castle sits on. With Rabbie’s, after he Castle we headed north, saw great scenery and spent an hour on Lock Lomond prior to returning back in Glasgow. This was our 2nd Rabbie’s tour; the 1st was the 3-day tour to the Isle of Skye which is also a wonderful place to explore there our driver / guide was Cameron, and he like James, is a great person to show you around Scotland. We have 2 more Rabbie’s tours scheduled: Culzean Castle on Tuesday this week; and a Whiskey Tour on Wednesday.

So glad we did this tour!

The views were amazing. Our tour guide was awesome! Sterling Castle was something to see and it was truly a piece of history not to be missed.

Loch Lomand

Our guide James was amazing! He made the day for us. The sights were beautiful and everything was so well organized. The timing was so well done, we could enjoy each sight without being rushed but for so much in. Great experience!

Castle and Loch

The castle tour was wonderful! The small town where we had lunch was also great and had good shopping after lunch. The boat ride on Loch Lomond was disappointing due to the heavy rain.
