Swiss Tours Brings It Home

So first of all, this tour is by Swiss Tour Group. The best I. Geneva and we needed up using the tree major ones. Our tour guide David was incredible. For a group tour he connected with everyone personally and made the day fun and memoriable. Can’t say enough about David and the Swiss Tours. The day long trip went by quickly. Highly recommend doing the upgrade journey and including the boat trip. It’s a great way to see the shoreline. And when is began to rain, David quickly changed direction and brought our picnic onto the bus which was fun. SO make sure you booking with Swiss Tours, NOT KeyTours which was an epic fail on another one of our tours to Gruyeres. See review on Gruyeres for reasons why NOT to spend money for tours which did not deliver!

Excellent Montreaux trip by Roger from Key tours

Excellent trip by Key tours. We had Roger as our guide/driver for this trip. It was raining the whole trip and we were worried that our money would be wasted but Roger made sure that the trip was fun. He covered all the landmarks and also made sure that we had the best time in Geneva in this trip. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone coming to Geneva for vacation.

Highly recommend this tour

Spectacular tour, we would highly recommend it. Chaplins World is an incredible and comprehensive museum. You could spend hours there. Chillon Castle was very interesting too. The boat ride on the lake was lovely and we enjoyed our free time in Montreux. Roger was an excellent guide and this trip was well worth the money.

Wonderful day with David

David was an awesome guide. The tour provided a varied but busy schedule. Scenery was stunning. The wine tasting and picnic beside the vineyards was enjoyable. The Charlie Chapman exhibit was a lot of fun. The wax figures are very realistic and brought the home to life. The cruise on the lake was enjoyable and Chillon castle was very interesting.

Anglesy trip

Anglesey is a lovely part of N. Wales so much to see. Great beaches like Trearddur Bay and red Wharfe Bay. Stayed in Beaumaris great place. Menai straits stunning . Highly recommend it for a few days.

Beautiful views - terrible tour

We booked this tour through Viator with Key Tour S.A. and have a booking number to confirm. I am a travel advisor and do tours prior to recommending them to my clients. This is one tour is would NOT recommend. We were very disappointed with the tour. The views were amazing but for the money spent it should have been better put together and time managed better. First, check in is a cluster and should be better managed/marked since there are multiple buses and tours leaving from the same spot. Second, our driver was clearly flustered and after introductions, didn't talk to us again until we got to the Chaplin museum. Once there, he handed out tickets, and let us know the gates opened at 10a.m. and to grab coffee while we waited. We got there at 930 a.m. We were to meet at the bus at 1130 - so an hour and a half (Itinerary indicated an hour) which is way too long to be the Chaplin museum there isn't that much to see. We were then taken to "tour the vineyard" which is actually just you park by the side of the road and the guide has cheese packets, little cake and wine under a shelter. You can walk down the little hill and take pictures of the lake and mountains. He did talk more at this stop and then we were off again. He took us to Vevey where we spent WAY WAY WAY to much time. We got there about 1215 or so. He gave us boat tickets, told us to take the 2 p.m. boat and get off at Chillon where he would meet us. Then left. This part of the tour was a complete waste of time. This stop should have been 20-30 mins max and then on to Chillon. The "river cruise" is actually a water taxi - you make several stops before you actually get to Chillon. Once at Chillon, the guide met us, gave us tickets. There was no "guided tour." We were handed a map and told to be at the bus at 4 p.m. At 4:15p.m.we got to Montreal where the driver told us we had 30 mins to look around despite the itinerary allowing for hour. When mentioned he was like nah you don't need that much time here. We were very disappointed as there was more to do and see here then in Vevey where we were left for almost 2 hours. This tour could be great if they revamped it and worked with their guides. Ours was really not interactive and seemed disinterested. He seemed to want to just get this done and over with. The tour either needs to start with Chillon, then Montreux to allow more time here, and then end with the Chaplin museum. Remove the road side vineyard stop, either shorten or remove Vevey altogether. While the views are amazing, you can plan this better on your own or with a different tour company. We went Sept 2023.

Nice tour despite the rain

Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and it was pouring. I enjoyed the World of Charlie Chaplan more than I expected. The cruise to Chillon Castle was very nice and exploring the castle on our own was interesting.

Great experience

The whole journey was fantastic, starting with our amazing driver Normunds. He made sure to give us amazing facts and made us feel very welcomed and excited for the day we had ahead. Everything was amazing. The only thing that was slightly disappointing when we did not go to the vineyards and have wine samplings like it said we would but apart from that it was great

Excellent Day Trip.

Excellent trip, amazing sites & a beautiful area of Switzerland. If you book this tour, definitely add the boat ride along Montreux to the Chillon Castle option. You get to see the entire coastline from the lake -so picturesque! It’s worth the extra cost. Added benefit was a stop to enjoy wine & Swiss cheese, while overlooking grape vineyards & lake- gorgeous!

Wonderful

Wonderful experience. Our guide was funny and informative. Bus was comfortable and air conditioned. Beautiful scenery. Delicious wine.

A very good day overall. Much to see and do. The guide Roger was super helpful too. Perhaps a little more time in Montreux would have been ideal. Felt a little rushed towards the end.

This was a great tour....

This was a great tour. Lots of variety of experiences- the Chaplin Museum, the vineyard stop, the boat cruise, the towns and the castle. An interesting and informative day.

Stunning views and great sites, but not a guided tour.

This may not be for everyone...I have been to this region 5 times and on similar tours, so I know the area and history well. This particular tour had pros and cons... It was a very small group of 10-11 in a great panarama view bus. Guide was friendly and brought a nice wine and cheese picnic. There was a nice amount of time to spend at all locations and pace was laid back and relaxing. This was not a guided tour at all. The driver did not say one word about the history of locations or sites. We were totally on our own. Not really much time for lunch, but you can get yourself a bite at one of the stops near Vevey. Just know you will be getting a driver, not a tour guide.

Highly recommend it

Dimitri is an amazing tour guide. Love his passion. I had the best tour in Switzerland. The Chaplin museum was cool, Vevey was beautiful and Montreux Rivera was breathtaking

Good mixture of experiences

Interesting learning about Chaplin, I had no idea about his exit from the US. Very well done museum, with recreations of his famous movie scenes using wax figures. Please make sure you pay for the version of this tour that includes the steam ship ride, it was worth it & had some great views. The time was short to explore the Chateau Chillon so I’d recommend following the provided map with # signed posted. During your free time in Montreux I recommend walking to the casino to check out the Queen Studio exhibit; it is small but interesting.

Beautiful

Exploring Geneva and its adjacent towns. It was beautiful to see the vineyards, Chillon castle and Montreux.

Trip too compressed

Trip is too rushed for castle allotting only 45 mins, and about an hour for the chaplin museum. The montreux stop had a nice view of lake but was a bit pointless and tge time would be better allocated to the castle. Babis the tour guide was a nice guy

OUTSTANDING TOUR

Roger are guild and driver was wonderful. the tour was one of best tour Idone. Charilie Chapen world was a unexpected delight. Charlie Chapen world was very easy to get around to anyone offer elevator in his museum and house he live in. Vineyard terraces was interesting way of presentation done by Roger he offer picnic snack in middle of vineyard. What wonderful idea he provided. The ancient castle was very interesting. The town Montreux was one favorite city. This is an outstanding tour.

Memorable times

Our guide was excellent so was the scenery. We did not feel rushed at all. Amenities at all tourist spots were clean. The boat ride was shortcut,enough for the experience.

An unique experience visiting Switzerland

This experience was amazing from beginning to end. From the reservation with Viator to the communication with KeyTours Switzerland to help me join the tour after the tour had already left. The guide made it easy for me to find him and the group. I would highly recommend this unique experience to my friends and family and everyone else looking to discover the best of Switzerland!

Babbis was an amazing driver and tour guide. He made everything so easy and enjoyable. The places we visited were amazing we just loved the whole day.

Rainy day treat

Learning that Charlie Chaplin was more than “the Tramp.” Chillon Castle was great, but ran out of time to see it all. Great experience.

The day began with a visit to Vevay vineyards , on to Chaplins world with next a ferry ride to Chillon Castle . All of these were done with ample time to view and see what you wanted at each stop. The ferry ride was 1st class on a nice , crisp sunny day which made it more enjoyable .

Nice Tour

This was a nice way to vet a sampling of the greater Geneva area. Our tour guide, Neil, did an excellent job! The tour is expensive though.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL

I missed the tour completely because Viator sent me a ticket with the wrong meeting time. They admitted their mistake but I have been unable to reach anyone for a refund. It was handled completely incompetently and unprofessionally.

Delightful Guide & Interesting Sites

This was a wonderful day all around. Yolanda was the most thoughtful, well informed and friendly guide (a breath of fresh air compared to the awful guide, Neil, that we'd had the day before). She provided interesting insights about the region and was very engaging. We visited Chaplin's Museum (I hadn't been excited about that part but turned out to be really interesting), drove through the scenic vineyards, visited Vevey, a steamboat ride to Chillon Castle and ended at Montreux. A fun-filled day all around. It was also a small group which made it even more enjoyable.

Everything we hoped for and more!

This tour was everything we expected and more, provided by our lovely tour guide, Marie. She provided just enough details for us to be informed. All the locations selected had breathtaking views especially the vineyards and the town of Montreux. We were so glad we signed up for this tour and would highly recommend.

Great visit to the Castle, Chaplin Museum and Montreux. Castle is a must see in the region.The views of the vineyards are spectacular.

A Real Beautiful Swiss

It was a beautiful experience. It was all I could imagine I could see in Swiss. The Chillon Castle is a beautiful place to see. But I wish we could stay bit longer. There is a lot to see but practically we had to quickly pass through few rooms. But in general it is one of most to see in Swiss. Thanks

Amazing

This was a great day trip. Very comprehensive, and allowed us to see a lot of attractions and the countryside in a condensed amount of time. The tour guide Maggi was magnificent. Not only is her knowledge exceptional, but she is also a lovely person. Would definitely recommend this tour!

Great sights but poor guide, transport only

We had a new girl as a guide - first tour. She had no energy nor any interest to be there. Neither her nor driver knew the exact schedule of the tour nor directions. The tour was pretty much transport only, drop off to Chaplin museum, drop off to steam boat, drop off to castle. No history given, no significance given. We were taken to lunch to Montreux at 2pm for lunch to find most restaurants closed for siesta. Check your guide on the day before booking. Tour had potential to be good. We did another tour next day with a more experienced guide who had passion and energy and wanted to be there. When we complained to the tour guide - she was really upset and we were told the manager would get back to us - but I guess not!!! It was not a cheap tour!!

Ancient castle

Its an ancient castle with interesting different usage rooms...right on the edge of the lake....you can go in a boat which has great scenic views

A day trip from Geneva worth the effort - fabulous!

The wonderful castle of Chillon in Montreux will take you back in time. Steeped in history and the eery echo of those imprisoned will chill you to the bone. The lake views from the castle are mind blowing and peaceful. Take the train from Cornavin and enjoy the beautiful scenery and Swiss on-time-travel (really like clock work) with friends or family. I have taken many business trip visitors for a day trip and who years later still talk about their visit.

<p>The guide and driver were wonderful and every stop was great! Our favorite stop was Chaplin's World. This museum is the most different one we have ever been in. He was a film star and every room had running movie loops, display of scenes with wax figures, actual clothes and props used in the set. Enjoy hearing Charlie Chaplin speak and great you. See private home movies, visit his private music room office where he wrote music, wrote scripts and played his violin and piano. Loved it!</p>

<p>First off, be sure you book the gold tour. You get a lot more for your money doing that. Since entrance into the attractions is included, it also saves you time in line. Individuals who didn't book the gold were given the option on the bus and everyone ended up upgrading. I'm not sure if that is standard so I would book the gold tour from the beginning.</p> <p>I thought this was a very well-structured day. I felt there was sufficient time at each stop. I would've liked more time at the castle but that is because I like castles. Even so, I didn't feel rushed there either. </p> <p>I don't know anything about Chaplin, and I'm not a fan. However, I enjoyed the museum very much. The postings in English were helpful. I learned a lot and found it so interesting that I now plan to read his autobiography. </p> <p>Montreux was absolutely gorgeous and worth the trip for that alone. I walked the waterfront as well as the streets off the water and enjoyed all the scenery and shops along the way. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and helpful. The boat trip to the castle added to the trip. Again, gorgeous and relaxing. There are not enough adjectives to describe Switzerland's beauty.</p> <p>I take day trips on all my vacations. This was one of the best.</p>

There is no open air trolly ride of...

<p>There is no open air trolly ride of the wine producing area. I stead the bus stopped at a picinic table and the guide opened a couple bottles of wine, and they provided some dried meat and gas station sandwiches. Additionally we only spent one hour at the chateau, which was a let down.</p>

We loved the trip to Montreux...

<p>We loved the trip to Montreux. Maggie our guide was great. We had a picnic by the side of the lake at Veveux with sampling of local wine and we enjoyed it. It was a small group and we had a chance to talk to each other during the picnic. We particularly enjoyed Chaplin World. I have never seen so many people with a wide smile on their faces! The members of our childhood, watching Chaplin and laughing out loud to his political satires on silent screen was precious. What a heart trip!</p>

<p>This trip was pretty good. Didn't realize we'd spend time at the Olympic Museum but it was worth it and in fact, could have spend another hour there. Boat ride was great. And, visiting Chateau de Chillon was EXCELLENT. We could have skipped Montreux as only walked by some expensive stores and instead sped more time at the Chateau. Definitely need more time for the Chateau.</p>

<p>Pretty calm, easy going tour seeing the beautiful country of Switzerland and seeing the Chateau de Chillon. You also see the Olympic Museum, and take a boat ride on Lake Geneva. Overall not really a tour, just transportation to see some beautiful scenes.</p>
