Great variety tour!

Inside Chapel history presentation was excellent! Impressive interior and history.! Distillery, in silent season, assigned us charming, experienced guide with talent for remembering names of all guest on our tour!

Amazing tour

Amazing tour all made possible by Eric, our amazing tour guide! He was very knowlegeable and engaging. The history of these locations was intriguing and overall a great day! Would highly recommend!

The best of the best with Eric.

We had Eric as our tour guide and he was fantastic. His knowledge of the area was great along with the wonderful stories he shared with us, and let’s not forget the bad jokes he shared 🤣. All kidding aside Eric was a fantastic guide and when we come back again next year we hope to find that he is still doing tours. Eric was very kind and caring in helping me and my husband who is handicapped in getting into and out of the coach. He is a true gem.

Rosslyn Chapel

Very good day with our excellent driver, Eric. The Rosslyn Chapel was beautiful, a knowledgeable guide gave us the history of the chapel and the family. Melrose is a nice small town with several places to choose from to eat. The Abby is under restoration so we could only walk around the grounds. The visit to Glenkinchie distillery was very interesting and informative with a great guide Tony. A marvelous day in all.

Great Day!

We had a fantastic day on tour with Marty! Marty is funny, engaging, entertaining and very knowledgeable on Scottish history and culture. It was a wonderful mix of history, scenery and local food and Whisky. We highly recommend this tour!

Absolutely superb! Eric, our tour guide, was well knowledgeable about border town but most all made the experience personable and pleasant. Thank you Eric. If you are in Edinburgh for a short duration, love culture, and want to have a little snippet of what the rest of Scotland has to offer i strongly recommend using Timberbush. Excellent value for money trip that opened my eyes to the beauty of the Scottish Lowlands. Offers something for everyone and even travelling solo it was great. Plenty of stops allowing you to experience local towns. Excellent guide!

Okay experience

Be aware this is not a guided tour, but rather a shuttle service to three locations. Rosslyn chapel and castle ruins, next stop Melrose Abbey ( which was closed with a metal gate around it), and then the distillery. The driver of the bus was friendly.

Rosslyn Chapel tour with the 4 Texas sisters

Our driver and tour guide was Graham S. He was an OUTSTANDING guide and driver! We ended up with a private tour for the 4 of us, 4 sisters from Texas. Graham was EXTREMELY knowledgeable, VERY ENTERTAINING, and made for a thoroughly enjoyable tour for all of us! We were constantly laughing and enjoyed all the extra information and background he provided!!!! We would tour with him as our guide ANYTIME!!!!

This tour was a lot of fun! Our tour guide was Stuart who made it really enjoyable. He was providing us with so much information and made it all very interesting and entertaining. We had plenty of time to eat for lunch or brunch in my case 😂. A few stops along the way for random views! Loved it!

Wonderful day

What a wonderful day we had with our guide, Stuart M, he was so knowledgeable and funny. Enjoyed all of the stops and how the tour allotted just the right amount of time to see everything. Loved the size of the group, it was just enough people to feel friendly and fun

Rosalyn & Glenkirchie

Great tour guides during the bus drive as well as at the chapel and distillery. Very knowledgeable, welcoming and funny. Everything was on time. The lunch break at Melrose was too early, the restaurants open at 12 the earliest

The guide was overly chatty and kept spewing out facts and information with no rhyme or reason. The minibus was very mini and had restricted legroom . Overall, not worth the time.

Scotland is lovely in the rain!

The bubbly enthusiasm of our guide added a much needed sparkle to the pouring rain. His joy in presenting the dramatic landscape, history, and breathtaking chapel made this a most memorable experience. The whisky tour was a brilliant addition that provided warmth to a blustery day.

Fun tour with a great guide

We were blessed with a second day with tour guide Stuart and learned even more about Scotland. It's obvious Stuart is a proud Scot who loves his homeland and is eager to share it with everyone. The churches were interesting to see and learn about, but James and I both loved the tour thanks to Stuart. Regrettably we never got to see the Glasgow Rangers, but would never would have considered a Trio if not for Stuart. He has a contagious energy for Scotland. Thanks for everything Stuart. Please look us up if you ever visit Indianapolis, we'd love to return the favor.

Not a great tour choice when your time is limited.

Not enough time provided for the stop at Roslyn Chapel. Melrose was a disappointing choice for a tour destination. Great people at Timberbush though.

The dad jokes never stop...

This was an amazing tour. Marty made the experience exceptional! Helen at Glenkenchie was a delight! Can't wait to come back and experience even more of what Edinburgh has to offer.

This tour was fantastic. Eric the guide was great and the bus was super clean and nice. Two USBs per seat. Definitely recommend the tour!

Wonderful day touring these fantastic sites with Peter as a guide and driver . He did a great job and made sure we knew when interesting things were coming up . Really enjoyed his commentary .

Private all day tour

Booked a private tour for the 8 of us since it was cost effective and more enjoyable to be able to stop when you want. We had a great day: on time pick up at our hotel and Callum was our driver/guide. The bus was clean, new and comfortable. Callum answered any questions thrown at him and fit right in with our group. It was easy to schedule our tour via email and communication was great. I would definitely recommend Timberbush Tours

Very knowledgeable and...

Very knowledgeable and punctual driver. Always made sure we were present before taking off to the next destination. Beautiful countryside and whiskey. Definitely would recommend.. the people at glenkinski are the most hospitable people I have ever met.

So much history

Rosalyn chapel has so much history. The 9.00 fee covered the 15 minute presentation by a member of the working church. So much to see and learn about the history! The Abby where Robert the Bruce’s heart was but a skeleton - they are going thru renovation but it was so interesting to see it this was. We could not walk thru as the. Ceiling could fall down. It may take up to five years or more until we can see it inside -the Glenkinchi was a fun tour with three samples at the end! Stephanie was our guide from France - she was awesome! All in all- very nice

Love scotland!

We had the opportunity to go on a 2nd timberbush tour with our guide Jim and it was great! A pleasant ride through the scottish borderlands to see rosslyn chapel, melrose abbey and the glenkinchie distillery. There were a couple of negative co-guests who complained they were cold/hot/had to pay for their own add-ons...just generally drags. Jim handled them professionally and graciously. He saved the day. He never ceased his kindness toward all. Much respect. The scenery is stunning. All proprietary individuals we encountered were wonderful as well. Lovely day!

Great!

The Kelpies are a must see. Graham was our driver and he was great. Good balance between talking and music. Rosslyn Chapel was incredible. The stone carving must be seen to be believed. The Scottish Borders are a well kept secret.

History and beauty

Our first tour with Timberbush Tours, did not start particularly well, mostly due to an unexpected delay caused by car problems. Still, we more than made up for it, and what started as a disappointment turned soon into a resounding success, in no small measure due to our driver/guide, Adrian. He was kind, accommodating, and knowledgeable, but, most importantly, truly caring about the desires and needs of his passengers. He allowed us extra time when asked, and facilitated our entrance to both Rossylin Chapel and Abbotsford, so that we did not need to wait in line. While Timberbush may do well to improve its management (and avoid delays and overbooking), its true assets are its drivers, who are able to make up for the managerial mistakes.

Informative and fun

Every location on this tour was wonderful. Craig was a magnificent guide and went above and beyond even taking us to an extra hidden gem along the way.

Great day and well worth the cost

Great day tour, perfect length and our guide did a great job throughout the tour of providing commentary about Scotland, it’s history, and about the places we visited. Plan on paying admission to Rosslyn and Abbotsford house (about 22 GBP for both), but it’s worth it. There is also a stop for lunch in Melrose. We are at the Kings Arms and it was very good.

Best ever 8 hour day in Scotland!

Sorry Rosslyn Chapel had a no photo policy inside; but I understood why. The gentleman who gave the talk was very informative & charming. Our driver & guide, Stewart, was a delight. He got to know us all! Thought there was too much time at Melrose Abbey. The place was beautiful but haunting. My favorite was Abbotsford with its gardens.

Remembers who you are!

Stuart was a great guide. I was on another tour the next day and Stuart was at the same site. He walked up to me, recognized me and called me by name! Amazing considering all the clients he ferries. Shows he cares about his clients !

I loved every minute of...

I loved every minute of it! Stuart was an informed and friendly guide who took good care of us all day. Rosslyn Chapel and the castle ruins were beautiful. Melrose Chapel and museum was really interesting and Abbotsford House and gardens were just stunning.

Great trip through history

Thoroughly enjoyed our day trip with Timberbush tours. Rosslyn chapel was amazing and full of fascinating facts and legends. Melrose was pleasant for the lunch spot and Abbotsford capped off a great day. Our tour guide was Graeme, who was friendly and informative throughout. Slightly disappointed we didn’t visit the distillery due to Covid restrictions. This is only reason for a dropped star, as trip advertised on Viator as still including the whisky tasting. Overall though, great trip and well run by Timberbush.

Amazing tour of the Scottish countryside, Rosslyn Chapel and Whisky Distillery with family!!

Timberbush tours gave us an amazing guide (Adrian) who told us so many stories of the history and facts about Scotland! Adrian was a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide who was very patient with our big family. Rosslyn Chapel was a charming visit and the whisky distillery opened our eyes to the fascinating process of whisky making. The Scottish countryside was absolutely breathtaking! We would definitely come back again :)

Highly Recommend! Great tour!

Our family of six adults took this tour and we all loved it! Rosslyn Chapel is fascinating and the people who work there love their jobs and do an excellent job! Melrose is a lovely town (lunch at the Townhouse was delicious) and the Melrose Abbey was also very interesting. But we were mainly interested in scotch tasting and Glenkinchie Distillery was outstanding! (Keith was a great guide, very knowledgeable and informative!) Also got to see a bit of the countryside. Well organized, well run, and well worth the price! Highly recommend!

A Great Day

A wonderful way to spend a day, see some interesting sites and enjoy the Scottish countryside. Our guide was very professional, and pleasant. He kept the trip interesting.

A throughly enjoyable day tour from Edinburgh. Our guide & driver Marty was a great story teller, knowledgeable of Scottish history & entertaining with humorous jokes.

Rosslyn Chapel and other Scottish Border highlights

Excellent tour. Great tourguide Eric, alhough I was a little diappointed about him wearing trousers (the other guides that were at the departure spot wore kilts). Eric more than compensated that with his beautiful stories, his bright smile and the great music he played in the tourbus. Not very cheap, the trip, but more than worth it! The stops are in interestings places and long enough to enjoy (I really loved Roselynn Chapel) and appreciate. It was a day with very bad wheather, but in the bus The atmosphere was great. I would recommend this tour for adults only or maybe with older kids. Absolutely worth every penny! Personally, i was very impressed by Rosslyn Chapel, although I could not recall anymore why it was so crucial in Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code. The abbey was also nice, in a charming village, and the whisky visit was just the icing on the cake. Very entertaining daytour!

Good tour nothing spectacular, unfortunately I booked it last minute and they did not have it spanish speaking and they forgot the written fact sheet about the tour. The guide was super nice and helped a lot his name was Andrew

A great, jam-packed day

Really nice tour that didn’t feel like it took all day. The drive around the boarders was lovely. Rosslyn Chapel was so worth it and our guide walked us down to the ruins of the castle. Melrose Abbey was amazing- I only wish we had more time! The distillery part speaks for itself and the two samples were clutch. Our guide Martin was perfect! He is so knowledgeable and funny and gave great context as we drove to each site.

Lovely day in Scotland

We really enjoyed our tour with David who was fabulous. Ample time at each stop. David gave us lots of information and tips about what to see and where to eat. He also kept us entertained on the ride..Great stories and music.

Fun day out with Stuart

We had a small group, most with Scottish heritage, and Stuart really made an effort to customize the tour to each of us. He pointed out details related to our family names and histories, and tried to reflect our individual interests with his anecdotes. It was a really fun day! I found that though the tour went fast, I had enough time to do the things I wanted to do. Other people who need more might find it short. Rosslyn Chapel and Melrose Abbey are rich in history, the whisky distillery tour was incredibly educational even if the whisky wasn't to my taste, and the views in the Borders are breath-taking.
