Great way to see Old Town

This was a really great tour! We had a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide who really got excited about the subject. The small group size really made it personal and fun! I highly recommend it, especially if it is your first time in Edinburgh. This is a great activity for your first day or two in town, as it will give you a really nice overview of Old Town and you will see things you will want to revisit later. Also, it is a really nice tour for the whole family, even ones who are not Harry Potter super-fans.

Magical walking tour

Despite the cold driving rain this walking tour was great. I applaud the guide for remaining upbeat and professional in really dismal conditions. I learned so much and by walking I got comfortable with being in Edinburgh. This tour was full of great information, beautiful sights, and magic!

Wonderful tour, wonderful guide!

Angelique, our tour guide, was so amazing! Very knowledgeable, personable, funny, and entertaining. She definitely did her research. The tour itself was excellent with the stops planned and coordinated well. The tour also ran up to exactly the scheduled end time which was nice. Overall, this was a wonderful tour and I would definitely do another similar again!

Walking tour with ranging info

Our family went on the tour with Angelique. It included some Harry Potter, JK Rowling - and ranging commentary about the city and various issues. This tour was not for kids or for massive Harry Potter lovers. Other tours offer magic, capes, stories from the books - we even passed some - and for kids we would recommend those.

Great introduction to Edinburgh and all things Harry Potter!

We had a great tour with Kirsta. She was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Edinburgh and its connection to Harry Potter. So glad we booked this tour.

Unlucky with tour guide ? Felt a bit depressed afterwards .

Very unenthusiastic tour guide . Lacked basic knowledge of area we walked through and couldn’t answer simple questions asked by group members . In addition very disrespectful and dangerous trampling between headstones ( followed by the group ) over grassed area of famous graveyard . Not a great example to younger members .

Worth your while!

Such a fun way to learn about Harry Potter facts and get a lay of the land for Edinburgh! It was great to see all the places that inspired JK Rowling on creating a wonderful book series! Edinburgh really feels like you are in Harry Potter!

Lots of walking but we’ll worth it.

Benjamin was an amazing tour guide! I would highly recommend taking the tour and asking for him if possible. Made everyone feel welcome and included everyone.

Excellent HP tour with guide Benjamin

Great tour today with Benjamin. Visited lots of interesting places connected to HP and JK Rowling. Our guide Benjamin was punctual, super friendly and funny and was an expert on the series. Great tour!

Ok for the price

The guide had absolutely no way of identifying her as our tour therefore we wasted 30 minutes trying to find her and then trying to find the rest of the participants. It started things off badly for us. It was an ok tour, but we are Harry Potter fans and expected a little more.

A must for any Harry Potter fan

This was an amazing tour, with lots of comedic moments and information we didn’t know about.Benjamin was very enthusiastic during all the tour and made it more enjoyable, definitely coming back. Victoria street do make you feel like you are in Diagon Alley.

Great tour to visit the town

Kirsty was our tour guide and she was highly knowledgeable, very approachable, very funny. You can see that she is someone who trully loves movies, culture, and Harry Potter stuff, and of course... She is a Slytherin, which makes her even better !

BORING AND COMPLETE RIP OFF

This was DREADFUL - we went with 3 children aged 8,10, 11 and it was so boring that we left halfway through. I simply do not believe the review I read that stated how much children had enjoyed it. It was a complete rip off - a boring script with irrelevant details.

Really enjoyed, despite the rain !

Kirsty was a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide. Very good tour ! We had a bit of rain but she kept going and her Potter/ JK Rowling enthusiasm was really impressive.

Great tour guide

Brilliant guide , very funny but informative. Really enjoyed the tour and so did teenage daughters. Weather wasn't great but he keep out spirits up.

Fun

Guide was excellent. Made it fun and playful. Keaton was knowledgeable! As we had read there is no actual filming that took place in Edinburgh and the coffee shop JK Rowling wrote at is gone but you get to see her prints.

A must do for Harry Potter fans

Loved the tour. Benjamin was an excellent guide. If you are a Harry Potter fan heading to Edinburgh I definitely recommend this tour.

If you have kids, look elsewhere!

This "kids-free" tour is not a good one for kids. The guide seemed very nice, but very difficult to understand. My kids (3 and 5) were begging to leave after the first stop. We bailed shortly after, around 10 minutes into the tour. If you have kids, avoid this tour!

Harry Potter Tour - Edinburgh

Great tour with Benjamin! He was most excellent with Harry Potter knowledge around the sites in Edinburgh. He was engaging with our 7 year old son throughout and also provided some comedic bits along the tour. Would recommend to any HP fan young or old! Small tour group was a bonus for us too.

Amazing experience

Lovely walking tour through several locations in Edinburgh. Full and detailed explanation of all inspirational locations of the Harry potter series. Kirsty was a very chatty and very passionate fan of the series, it was really great to meet her.

Harry Potter Origins and more (Scottish ties)! Amazing and amusing

Benjamin was great! Had a total of 7 people in my group, me being with my partner. Benjamin had a combination of good HP humor/jokes to combine with origin story of said topic and mixing in Scottish elements to it. Pretty good for people wanting to experience IRL for 2 hours compared to several hours of research.

A very nice experience with a knowledgable tour guide. The tour was fun and you really get a picture of the town that inspired J. K. Rowling. Even if you are not a Harry Potter fun, you will enjoy the tour as it also includes historical facts about the city and the witch hunt. Great experience!

Perfect way to start our Edinburgh trip

Our inaugural tour in Edinburgh couldn't have been more perfect to kickstart our trip. A group of four, and it turned out to be the ideal size for comfort and interaction. Kirsty, our guide, deserves the biggest shout-out for making it an absolute blast. Not only did she unveil spots and details that shaped the books, but she infused the tour with incredibly entertaining facts. Even as a self-proclaimed book and film nerd, I found myself learning in the most lighthearted and amusing way. Huge thanks to Kirsty for turning the tour into an unforgettable experience!

Potter meets Edinburgh

The tour started badly, our train from London was late to Edinburgh and we were running late for our walk. It was around 20 minutes or so after the start time so we'd forlornly given up but then our guide, Tessa, didn't give up on us and she managed to locate us and we got to go on the walk after all! Tessa is a true Potter fan and if I ever go to a Potter pub quiz I'd want Tessa on my team! My kids were tired from our travel but Tessa was patient and kind with humour and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and learnt some Potter lore we never knew.

Magical Walking Tour

This was a great way to see Edinburgh with some added magic thrown in. Our tour guide Kirsty was really friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and mindful of the variety of ages in our group. We all learnt a lot and we are glad we choose the Harry Potter theme. We ran to time, the pace was good and lots of opportunities to take photos. I felt this was really well priced with the added bonus of kids going free. Communication was great after booking to. Thank you for a memorable experience - you are awesome ☆☆☆☆☆

Nice tour

This was a cute and fun little tour. Benjamin was very adorable and enthusiastic. I thought when it said “kids free” it meant no children but there was a kid on the tour so maybe it meant kids enter for free. Either way, nice tour.

Best Day In Edinburgh

Greetings to all muggles and wizards who are curious about taking this tour. We had the pleasure of being guided through the history of J.K Rowling and Edinburgh by Benjamin. Benjamin was knowledgeable, funny and enthusiastic ! We would love to do another tour with him!!

Our tour guide was amazing and so knowledgeable! You could tell she is a true Harry Potter fan! I loved seeing the locations where J.K. Rowling wrote her novels, as well as the cemetery where she found inspiration for names.

Awesome, unique Harry Potter tour

This tour was an awesome experience that avoided some of the crowds and offered something unique compared to the rest of the Royal Mile tours. Benjamin was an absolutely fantastic guide; he had such a fun energy and was knowledgeable, kind, funny, and engaging. My wife and I had such a blast and learned a lot about Harry Potter while also seeing some amazing architecture and scenery.

A historical and Harry Potter centric tour of Edinburgh!

A great walk through Edinburgh and we loved all the highlights of areas that inspired or were rumored to inspire JK Rowling. Our guide was knowledgeable and well rehearsed and we loved it.

Potter fans will love this tour

It was so cool to see a bit of Edinburgh and learn about parts of the city that inspired JK Rowling as she wrote the Harry Potter series. As an author myself, it was inspiring, and for my kids, it was very cool. Tessa was full of interesting facts and was also witty in her responses to questions from people in the group. It was a great tour and I would highly recommend it for families of Harry Potter fans!

A great tour

Benjamin was a magical host who made us laugh the entire tour. The kids (8 years) lost interest straight away but it was an enjoyable and engaging tour for the adults. We got a Good amount of steps up and saw a lot of the city whilst learning lots !
