Desert Conservation Wildlife Drive & Breakfast at Al Maha Resort

One of the best things we've ever done!

We have just returned from our fantastic tour and are still buzzing! Huge praise must go to our guide, Ali Moussa, who was excellent from the moment he picked us up. He was courteous, informative and entertaining - giving us plenty of information on the history of Dubai and the UAE on the way to the Wildlife Conservation, while also stopping to show us the Camel Racing track! Once at the Wildlife Conservation, he demonstrated his full range of skills with photography, driving and wildlife spotting which was invaluable. We enjoyed the complimentary water bottles, water and headwear which was a lovely touch. The drive through the Wildlife Conservation was peaceful and you felt like you were the only people in the desert! We saw plenty of wildlife at various spots and Ali was more than happy to slow down to allow us the chance to take it in and to get photographs. This is a great option if (like us) you don't want any dune-bashing as this is a nice relaxing drive. Then the breakfast was incredible. A wide range of options and some exciting new things to try! The tour was extremely well organised and this is clearly a company that cares about the quality of the tour over just cramming people in for profit. It was nice to hear some of the money spent on the tour is re-invested in caring for the environment and wildlife too. We couldn't recommend this enough - and make sure you ask for Ali Moussa!

Amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely fantastic our driver Ali was amazing picked us up from dukes the palm Dubai I have Mobillty problem with my knees Ali was fantastic. In helping us his knowledge was fantastic I would highly recommend this company and Ali who is a credit to the company From start to finish thanks Ali. The shaw family Newcastle upon Tyne.

Serene view of the Dubai desert ...

Our driver was waiting for us at the early appointed time and we were whisked off in a sturdy 4x4 to the desert. First stop was a quick spin-round the local camel centre to see these local animals. Then on to get the traditional Arab head-gear at the entrance to the reserve. Then the car tyres were deflated and off we went onto the sand, where our driver pointed out all the local wildlife. We had several stops to take pictures and take-in the brilliant conservation work the King is doing here. We were then dropped off at a 5 star hotel on a hill in the middle of the reserve where we had a 7 star breakfast, overlooking the flat grass plains, where the animals wondered freely. This was a top, top highlight of my holiday. The ride back to the hotel was smooth and full of conversation about the adventure we had enjoyed. Please book this excursion to do-your-part in the conservation of this beautiful land. Dune buggy activity is not the way to see the Dubai sands.

Oryx in UAE

What a day! The vast number of Arabian oryx was a surprise. Seeing them behind a fence was ok but we were sure hoping to see them roaming the dunes. After some rather anxious minutes with a few gazelles and some sand fish…there they were! Oryx on the red sand and munching on native plants. It was just great! We had a pleasant but a rather new guide who did not know too much about the birds or plants which would have been nice. The oryx were outstanding so that was why we were there. Lunch at the resort was really great and we enjoyed the view of the water hole as a few gazelles strolled by. If you want to see oryx then this is the trip for you!

An alternative to dune bashing

A wonderful experience that helps preserve the desert instead of ‘dune bashing’. Ali was a great guide and I learned much from him.

Excellent desert tour, great tour guide / driver

The tour guide, John, was excellent. Provided lots of information about the desert environment and wildlife. He stopped at some nice photo spots and took some excellent picture of my wife an me. The breakfast was great and in a nice setting. This was one of our best tours in Dubai.

Wonderful experience

Was a very nice morning seeing what the real desert had to offer conservation area with oryx’s being bred. Hotel breakfast was excellent.would recommend this trip although not cheap as some of the cost goes towards the upkeep of the area

This was an awesome with a very knowledgeable tour guide. The desert and wildlife in the UAE were wonderful to get to see and experience. My only real complaint with this tour is that the cost was a bit high for what it involves. It was the most expensive activity that we booked for our week and was shorter and involved less then many of the others.

What a great day in the desert!

What a great day in the desert! We saw lots of birds, learned about the desert plants and got up close to the oryx and gazelles. Even saw some fox tracks and snakes burrows. Oscar was the best guide with a wealth of knowledge on Dubai and the desert reserve, and also really fun to bird with.

Fabulous trip highly recommended

Fabulous trip I would definitely recommend, our guide was friendly and knowledgeable made the whole experience so much nicer. It was lovely to see the animals running free in a safe environment. The breakfast was lovely with so much choice, there would definitely be something there to suit everyone.

I did this tour with my mum and sister as an alternative to the more common dune-bashing drives which I heard can make you feel sick, and we all rated this as one of the top experiences in Dubai. The breakfast at the luxury resort was incredible - the view was amazing and the food was generous and really tasty. Our guide Austin was also very knowledgeable and very funny so the whole drive was really fun and insightful. Given it's a conservation area, you are guaranteed to see animals which is also a big plus. Would definitely recommend this!

Morning desert ride and breakfast with family

The bedouins cultural trip marks a beautiful memory for our family. We enjoyed every moment of it, from the camel riding, falcon performance, learning the local dance, delicious breakfast and the desert ride in a vintage Land Rover. Our guide is Sami who is very helpful and knowledgeable. All the staff are very friendly that created a delightful atmosphere. I would give it 7 star!

Beautiful way to experience the desert

This was such a beautiful way to spend a Saturday morning in Dubai. I live in Dubai and my sister is visiting for the first time so wanted to give her something more than a tourist attraction experience of the desert. This experience was beyond expectations. After an hours drive out of central Dubai we arrived in the reserve, we were given a flask to fill with water (a keepsake gift) and had the headscarf applied. We then drove into the reserve for our first stop. Our very knowledgable guide insisted we took our shoes off to experience the sand beneath our feet and be at one with the earth, this gives you a flavour of how sincerely our guide took his responsibilities as host, ensuring we didn’t miss a single experience, taking photos for us, and teaching us so much about everything around us. We finished the tour with a delicious breakfast where we were joined at the table by a gorgeous gazelle who lacked a few table manners but was excused on the basis of being utterly adorable. This tour is a must for anyone looking for something authentic, educational and gentle.

A great tour

A great tour with a friendly and knowledgeable guide - Khairi. The only negative side s that we would like to have seen dunes without vegetation.

Hot day and new friends

The guide was exactly on time to start the tour and the communications I had with the tour operator were easy and answered in a timely manner. The trip was exactly as expected. The guide was knowledgeable about the area and pointed things out in time for all to see, even stopping where possible to allow photographs to be taken. Yes it was hot and dry but the guests had plenty of water if needed and were cautioned about how to deal with conditions. The guide spoke English very well. I was surprised to find myself paired up with a couple from France. The guide was from Cameroon and of course spoke French. I actually welcomed this experience as it was very nice to practice my fractured French adding to the good experience of this trip. The expected wildlife was easily located as were a few unexpected animals. I would take another tour with the guide if I was staying longer. I got everything I wanted from this tour.

Don't Hesitate! Worth every penny!

This was everything we were expecting and more! Very elevated experience from the pick up at our hotel to the journey to Al Maha Desert Resort. The safari itself was spectacular. Our guide Emilio was very informative, we actually saw almost all the wildlife that day which they said was rare, The resort itself is first class and the breakfast experience terrific. There was an entire buffet to select from and an ala carte menu for your selection. All our breakfasts were cooked to perfection, frankly we didn't want to leave the resort. Perhaps you should offer an entire day resort to customers, it would be something I'd sign up for. I would highly recommend this, it's worth every penny and more.

Amazing!!!

We enjoyed the morning safari and breakfast tour with PH, it was amazing!! From pick up to drop off all was well planned and top notch. Our driver was pleasant and shared information about live in UAE. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed trying new foods. The drive through the park was amazing. Highly recommend!!!!

A wonderful way to experience the desert in style.

As this was our first visit to Dubai, I really wanted us to experience truly authentic Dubai places and people, and so visiting the desert was a must-do activity. I loved every minute of it! I chose this tour as my husband and I are not interested in dune bashing, and I’ve always been fascinated by animals. Our guide, Khairi, was very informative and helpful throughout the tour. The traditional Arabian headdress’ were applied which was so much fun. We saw Arabian Oryxes and gazelles galore! And the desert dunes were so beautiful. The luxury Al Maha resort we had breakfast at was magnificent. I felt very privileged being allowed to eat there! The whole morning was truly a unique experience I will cherish.

The desert is very quiet, clean and beautiful. We’ve seen a lot of special animals, and the tour is very professional. He knows a lot about the animals and the shares experiences with us. The breakfast was perfect, no matter the taste, the meal or the service are impression.

Wonderful wildlife desert tour

We had the best experience with knowledgeable guide and driver Oscar. Saw lots of birds and animals. Our guide was very accomodating, stopping regularly for me to take photos. The breakfast was 1st class. If you come to Dubai it’s a must do tour

Naturally beautiful and magical!

The best part of the excursion was being surrounded by the quiet expanse of the desert. My co-passenger and I were the only ones being driven around by friendly and knowledgeable guide/driver, Razak. There were no other visitors. Thank you, Razak, for the superb tour! The air was clear and fresh following previous days' rains; the sand was compact. Seeing oryx and gazelles wandering about in the sanctuary was magical! Thoroughly recommend this excursion if you are into nature. The breakfast in Al Maha Resort was very enjoyable. Razak explained to us that Platinum Heritage is the only tour operator in Dubai that does Not offer dune bashing. They are into saving and protecting the environment. Thank you for being so progressive in your vision. I wish there were more operators and visitors who shared the same views. Since it was their 10th anniversary we were gifted a special passport as a memento. Instead of plastic water bottles, we were given reusable ones with their company logo. So thoughtful!

Amazing morning in the Dubai Desert

Going on this trip was certainly one of the highlights of our time in Dubai! Our guide Ronald picked us up at our hotel around 7:00 am and drove us to the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve in a very comfortable SUV. We stopped to take photos with a fleet of vintage land rovers and also had headscarves wrapped around us. Ronald was an excellent guide, he was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna within the Reserve and patient with all our questions. We stopped to take photos of oryxes, gazelles, a local man-made lake and walked on sand dunes, before arriving at beautiful Al Maha Resort for breakfast. Both the selection and quality of the breakfast offerings were excellent, and the service impeccable. Altogether, it was a very memorable experience, and we would highly recommend it to anyone!

Best way to see the Dubai Desert

We did the personal tour - wife and adult son. Very professional. Car was very modern Ranger Rover. Guide was friendly and professional and informative. Couldn’t recommend more highly. 5 odd hours of great detail and knowledge. Enjoyed the breakfast at the resort - again high quality food and location was amazing! Do yourself a favour and make sure you tick this tour off.

Perfect morning in the dessert

We booked the Range Rover conservation experience with breakfast and were blown away by the morning. We were picked up pronto by our guide Oscar who gave us a fabulous insight into Dubai as we drove to the dessert. He was all morning an excellent guide. We were greeted at the dessert with traditional headscarves, able to take photos with the land rovers. Then we drove off in the dessert. It was perfect for us as we could hop in and out of the car whenever we wanted. Oscar was determined to show us the amazing wildlife and my husband got to hold a sand fish. We saw Gizelles, Oryx and other animals. We had so much fun walking barefoot in the sand and seeing the sights. It was great to learn about the positive changes too. Then we were taken for the most amazing breakfast. So much choice of hot and cold foods and then we were driven home and dropped off before noon! Just a day we will never forget.

Comfortable and informative tour

Highly informative and enjoyable tour. Ibrahim was an excellent guide. We saw many gazelle in the undulating desert landscape.

Hot air balloon adventure, camel riding and traditional hot breakfast with great guide

We have just been on the most amazing hot air balloon adventure followed by breakfast at a traditional campsite. Saif was our driver and guide for the whole journey. He was just amazing. Extremely knowledgeable about the area and answered all questions that we asked him. He had such a fun personality that it was a pleasure to go on this trip with him. Everything was done to punctuality and we were made comfortable and welcome by Saif, the balloon captain and everyone who looked after us at breakfast including Saif himself. The entire trip is a truly memorable one and made more special by Saif and his warm personality. My husband and I will definitely come back again and do the same trip and will ask to have Saif again as our guide.

5 star Wildlife Conservation Tour and Breakfast in the Desert

I cannot select just ONE highlight. This tour was one of the best (from beginning to end) I have ever had. Such a beautiful project (wildlife conservation efforts), a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide (Leesa from South Africa) and an amazing HUGE breakfast that was soooo good! Thank goodness it was at the end of the tour as I needed a nap after this breakfast. The menu in the photo was for items you wanted to order. This was in addition to numerous other items available on a buffet. After you place your order from the menu, they still offered pancakes, waffles and french toast if you were still hungry. Beautiful area for breakfast! There were hundreds of animals but the windows didn't allow for that great of photos and of course with all the sand, we didn't lower the windows. The manmade lake has fish and attracted numerous species of birds. I went in August (low season) so I was fortunate enough to be the only tourist with the tour guide and loved our one on one tour. She was so knowledgeable and absolutely seemed to love her job and shared my love for wildlife. Highly recommend this tour to anyone going to Dubai

A Magical Tour

We did the Conservation Drive and Breakfast at Al Maha tour, with our guide from Colombia - who was very friendly and spoke very good English, was clearly knowledgable about the conservation work going on in this area. A promp 7am pick-up and then off into the Desert - lots of chat along the way and then we saw Gazelle, Oryx and lots of birds. Really nice to hear how the area is being preserved and cultivated for the future. Then it was a lavish breakfast at Al Maha, where they wanted us to eat sooooo much beautiful food with 6* service. Then it was a drive back to our hotel and time to say goodbye - really enjoyed our trip into the unspoilt Desert area of Dubai and would recommend this tour.

Amazing wildlife in the desert.

Excellent tour into the desert with fantastic guide Mr Khairul. Knowing that we prefer wildlife photography, Khairul did everything he could to get us the shots we wanted. It was a great experience photographing desert animals. Tour ended with a wonderful breakfast. Thank you Khairul and Platinum heritage tours for the awesome time we had.

Super tour into desert no dune bashing excellent guide!

Platinum Heritage Morning Conservation Tour Collected on time (early actually) by our super guide Oscar. Only 2 other guests in the air conditioned Range Rover. Lots of cool bottled water supplied. Around 30-40 minute drive to the desert. Traditional headress for all, and yours to keep.Very relaxed informative drive (no silly dune bashing) with lots of photo stops. Lasted around 2 hours. Breakfast at Al Maha was very nice too, classy place. Oscar was a great guide with lots of info and interaction. Heritage tours were spot on throughout, always answering emails/whatsapp promptly. An exact pick up time advised night before. Highly recommended

A comfy desert tour

I really enjoyed this tour. Pick up was very punctual, the 4x4 was very comfy and classy. My tour guide Lionel was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave me heaps of information about the different areas of Dubai during our drive to the desert. The desert was beautiful and it was lovely to see Arabian oryx, gazelles and large lizards. Breakfast at Al Maha was so tasty and they even brought me out a birthday cake for my special day.

Unforgettable morning in the desert!

We spent an amazing morning with Lize as our guide driving out of the city and into the desert. We spotted lots of animals including the Al Maha antelope, mountain and sand gazelles, sand fish and monitor lizards. Lize was full of local knowledge and information. Our breakfast at Al Maha hotel was delicious in an unforgettable location. I feel like we really saw a different side to Dubai and I can’t recommend Platinum Heritage highly enough. Lize’s pleasant manner and knowledge of the area elevated the whole experience!

Dessert safari and nice breakfast

We had a great time in exploring Desert Safari. it’s a nice experience across the dessert while on a land remover. The view is marvellous and we saw oryx, gazelle camels along the way. Leonard is a super friendly and knowledgeable guy! Pleasure to Meet him. Would recommend him for ur tour.

A wonderful experience on a desert safari

My family and I had the most amazing time with Platinum Heritage. From the moment we got picked up from our hotel we were made to feel welcome by a really friendly and extremely knowledgeable guide. Our guide (sorry I forget her name) was with us all day and had great knowledge not only about the safari and all the activities we did with her but also about Dubai on a whole. All the staff we met were extremely friendly and accommodating; my two young sons could not have had a better time. All the activities (camel ride, falconry display, Bedouin breakfast and desert safari) were delivered with in depth knowledge, passion and consideration. The food that was laid on was plentiful and extremely tasty. I could not recommend this experience enough and would without doubt do it again

In 1 word “Wonderfull” !! Great experience and service. A tourguide who provided is with a lot of information. Our guide Lionel had a great knowledge of all kind of things as surroundings, area, animals, the dessert and even Dubai itself. After the trip we had a lovely breakfast at the Maha Desert Resort with everything you can even imagine to have for breakfast. Many thanks for the great experience
