One of the best and most craziest experience in my life. The tour guide Ashok was super friendly and very knowledgeable.

Beyond excellent

We were blown away by how good our guide Mr Ashok was. He was very informative arriving at each place and offered knowledge during our visits on everything from Buddhism to cricket, area history, Gaddi nomadic customs and Tibetan culture . He is an experienced mountaineer too so very obliging in answering our questions about the views of this Himalayan range throughout the tour. The sites were well chosen and the timetable well planned for the best of each site. We enjoyed every minute of this tour. We were surprised we had been gone all day but the time flew. Our driver was excellent too, delivering and collecting us at each site with efficiency despite traffic snarl-ups, and navigating busy hilltop and town centre roads safely and comfortably.

Great trip for solo travellers

I took the six day tour to dharamshala and Dalhousie from Amritsar. Excellent trip with a great driver (Vijay), which they kindly tailored to my travel arrangements. I would gladly recommend this trip to anyone. They even helped with booking hotels and trains for me before I arrived in India. A really good tour and great value for money.

Highly professional and informative. Recommended!

Would highly recommend this tour. My friend and I were provided with a guide (Malik) plus a driver (Vijay) who picked us up from our hotel in a comfortable, clean car. Although we had seen some sights before on our own, having Malik provide us with the history and cultural background was way better. We learnt so much on the day, Malik was a super informative guide and nice guy to boot! Norbulingka Institute was particularly informative with our guide who had a great deal of knowledge about the skills being demonstrated which enhanced the experience greatly. If you want to learn more of the Tibetan Buddhism and temples, historical and cultural backgrounds of the people and local environmental points of interest and challenges, this is well worth the price charged.

Dharamshala Delights: A Mix of Culture, Nature & Learning with Aashish

Our tour of Dharamshala with Aashish was a mix of beautiful nature and interesting culture. We saw the peaceful Dalai Lama Temple and the Gyuto Monastery, where we learned a lot about Tibetan Buddhism. Aashish was great at explaining things, especially at the Norbulingka Institute, where we saw how Tibetan art is kept alive. The views at Dal Lake and the Bhagsu Naag Temple's waterfall were amazing. Shopping at Divine Buddha Handicrafts in McLeodganj was fun, and we found some cool local crafts. Aashish made places like the Church of St. John and Naddi View Point even more special with his stories and jokes. The whole trip was a perfect mix of learning and having fun in beautiful places.

Experience Dharamshala highlights with an excellent guide

This tour is the best way to sightsee in Dharamshala and Mcleodganj if you're only in town for a day. Ashok (English-speaking guide) and Abhishek (driver) were prompt and friendly and very patient with elderly family members. They accommodated all our requests and needs, and went above and beyond in transporting and guiding us through the important sites of this area. Our guide Ashok was extremely knowledgeable and helped us understand the history and significance of what we were seeing and experiencing. Highly recommend!

One Day visit

The spots are nicely selected. It is good tour if you are short on time and coming with family. It is a touch more expensive and if you try and find local taxi people you can do the complete your at nearly 50% less cost. But apart from the money, point are good , driver is good and the cab is clean. Thanks

Awesome tour and views around Dharamshala

Great tour. It actually took us 9 hours from Bestwestern Revanta McLeod Ganj (started 9am, returned 6pm). Tour organizer is awesome and responsive. Guide and driver were really nice. We covered a lot of ground, including scenic views from Gaddi, walk through a Naddi village, climbed up to the waterfalls in Bhagsu, lunch at the Mcleod Ganj market, Dalai lama’s residence and temple, Gyuto monastery, and then art institute at Norbulingka. Packed day. Be prepared to walk (which we loved). We registered close to 20,000 steps on apple iphone.

Nice time spent in beautiful places

Really worth taking this company for services in the Dharamshala area. I made 2 tours - 6 hours McLeod Ganj and Dharamshala tour on one day and Rock temple and Kangra fort on another day. Everything was well organized and smoothly done. Mr. Raj from Himachal Bylocals was very responsive and helpful when needed - even helped me to settle some issues with a hotel in Dharamshala on the day of my arrival. Tours were really well organized and informative - nice places to see and learn about the history and development of these areas. The guide, Mr. Varman, was really informative and entertaining, showing around the area, temples, places and nature views. Thank you for nice 2 days in this lovely place!

Great tour of the sights

It was a wonderful tour, communication was excellent. We saw all the key sights in a limited timescale of an afternoon. The guide was excellent at providing information and answering questions.

Must do for everyone!

It was an amazing experience from booking, being picked up in the morning and being dropped off. When we started we were asked about our preferences. At every step of the way our comfort was taken care of very well. Our driver was well trained and drove so comfortably on the mountain roads. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was very flexible in our demands.

Beautiful Trip

Mountains always have my heart and it was my second visit to Dharamshala. A place with combination of peace,adventure ,spiritualism and beautiful views. I really enjoyed being there and visiting some beautiful places like Dalai Lama temple,HPCA stadium, Mcleaod market and specially the Bhagu Naag trek which leads also to a beautiful cafe named Shiva cafe where you can literally enjoy delicious food and amazing time. My visit was beautiful and you can also explore many more places like Palampur which is also an amazing place. I am also looking forward to visit again and have a stay in Palampur.

Aashish was my guide and now friend. We connected very well and have the best day I have had in a long time. This is my 2nd trip traveling around the world and his is the best, most knowledgeable, caring and understanding individual I have been blesses with in my travels.

Excellent introduction to Himachal Pradesh

Ashish was an excellent guide who tailored our tour of Himachal Pradesh to our interests. When he found out we enjoyed nature, he added a scenic walk between two mountain villages so that we could see the local people and wildlife. He is an incredibly knowledgeable guide, and was never noting when delivering his information. We highly recommend!!

Great overview of Dharamshala

I highly recommend this full day private tour of McLeodganj and Dharamshala. The tour was delivered by a very experienced guide on behalf of Himachal by Locals company. Our guide, Vikas is a local and highly experienced. He was very knowledgable and informative and gave my group a great perspective on what we were seeing, the main sites of the region, but with an insight to life in this part of Himachal. I strongly recommend this tour if you have only short time. It is suitable for all ages and provides great insights to Tibetan culture and religion. If you feel more active have a look at their trekking trips - I would happily go back and take one of these more adventurous trips with Vikas. The driver and car were also fantastic, safe, professional and fun.

Great guide experience

Vikas was an excellent guide sharing his wealth of local knowledge of Mcleodganj and the surrounding villages. All the stops were well planned out based on weather and proximity. It was truly a joyful day and time well spent.

Wrong season but still an experience

Unfortunately, I was there at the wrong time of year; the waterfall was dry, the monks and the Dalai Lama were on winter vacation, the lake was being dredged and I decided not to visit a church. Nevertheless, my guide Ash and the driver were very good; Ash gave a good tour of the Hindu temple and was a very good guide in other respects. The atmosphere in the Buddhist temples was also a very beautiful experience against the backdrop of the snow-capped Himalayas.

Visite très intéressante des principales attractions de la région, avec un guide très compétant expliquant l'histoire des lieux et leur intérêt, et répondant à toutes les questions. J'ai aussi apprécié qu'on me donne tout le temps que je désirais pour me promener dans les endroits et faire les photos que je souhaitais. On ne m'a jamais pressé. Le chauffeur était aussi très compétant et conduisait prudemment. Bref une très belle journée, je recommande.
