A brilliant day out in Triund

It was brilliant day out hiking with our guide, Sachin - he really took care of my friend and I, always checking in making sure we're okay throughout the approx. 4-hour trek up. Definitely very kind of him to always be watchful and prioritizing our safety. The hike wasn't easy, but the view at the top at Triund made it all worth it. If I'm ever in Dharamsala again, I would do the hike again and stay overnight at the top. Sachin is also a fantastic photographer - he definitely knows his angles and picture compositions. This was one of the best, most memorable activities I've done in Dharamsala.

Challenging but rewarding hike w/ a great guide!

We did the Hinking Day tour to Triund with Mr. Onkar. He was the best guide we could ask for. He was respectful and communicative. He was very knowledgable and we learnt a lot from him about the area, the trail and hiking itself. He kept us on pace and encouraged us towards the end as we were running out of energy. We don't think we would have made it all way without him. The trail itself is very nice. It was challenging but rewarding for us and we have minimal hiking experience. It took us just over 3 hours to go up at a steady pace with lots of breaks. The view at the top is great! The communication with Raj to set up the tour was also great. My only wish is that we started earlier so that we could have walked down from Gallu devi temple to mcleod. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a challenging but rewarding hike!

Triund day trek

Amazing day with a great trek and a great guide, Ranjeet. He was very experienced and knowledgeable and great company. We will be using this firm for the challenge mountain from Triund!

Fabulous Trek

Fabulous views. our guide Avinash was very knowledgeable and spoke English very well. He was excellent in guiding us up the mountain. always keeping us on the mountain side of the trek and helping us up and down the icy slippery parts closer to the top. We would not have made it up without him ! We were wearing trainers which was fine for the most part but not for the snowy bits. We definitely recommend hiking boots and walking poles. great little cafes on the way. The best Chai I have had in Dharamshala. A hot meal at the top was also very welcome ! All in all a great day out with the family and having a guide makes it so much more enjoyable.

Enjoyable trek but over priced

The trek up Triund was very enjoyable and the guide really helpful. Definitely something I would recommend to others but I would suggest booking elsewhere. I paid a premium to Viator for a private tour but I ended up on a group tour. The response from Customer Services was very poor so I won’t use Viator again. Just book direct with local operator for a fairer price.

Excellent tour.

Excellent tour. Fabulous views. The group weren’t known to each other beforehand but we all gelled well and ended up having a well-earned beer at the end.

Hire a guide, they know what they’re doing!

Hiring a guide was the best decision we could make! Not only was Ashish friendly and talkative which made the trek fly by, but also he was kind enough to hold my hand on the tricky parts to ensure I didn’t fall. If it wasn’t for Ashish, we wouldn’t have seen the top of the mountain and the stunning Himalayas!

Triund Trek

You may think you can do Triund without a guide but trust me you need to go through these guys! Sachin was an incredible guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. The mountains were spectacular and wouldn’t have been anywhere near as good without Sachin’s guidance!

Great trek , encouraging guide and splendid views

Great trek with a wonderful, encouraging and knowledgable guide Vikas and a very good driver on extremely narrow roads ( extra cost) as we took the trek from the temple. It was a beautiful experience with amazing views on the plateau. Trickier coming down especially if you are a little older with any knee problems. One caution! Take the option to buy your own entrance tickets as it is only R200 so the addit is not a good deal at all and goes on agent commissions with no value to end user! This is the only reason I did not rate 5.

Wonderful Father-Son Bonding trek to Triund. Definitely put this on your itenary.

We (My 21 year son and me) had an amazing trek to Triund today. Definitely recommend doing this in your itenary if in the Dharamshala area. Not a trek for the faint hearted so make sure you’re mentally prepared to walk up and down 12+ km and a total ascent of about 1000+ meters. our guide today was Sachin and he was a great person gives you your space but adds value through the journey.

Trek to Triund

We had a wonderful experience. Our guide Ashish was excellent. The view from Triund is amazing. Highly recommend this to all. An excellent way to spend a day in the mountains!

Great experience!

The guide was helpful throughout. Patient and friendly - thoroughly enjoyed the trek and the view. This was a solo trip Left Gullu around 10 pm, reached Triund 1 pm. Left Triund at 2.15pm and reached Dharamkot 5pm with multiple breaks. If you are going with family/women, please start earlier to have sufficient buffer.

We had a great trek with Mr. Sachin, he kept us motivated & informed! Really great day out, and would recommend starting at Gallu Temple to do it in a reasonable time! Get out and enjoy!

Excellent hiking tour to Triund

This hiking tour to Triund from Dharamshala was excellent. My tour guide was fantastic. He provided me with additional helpful and interesting information and answered all my questions. I am 60 years old and not used to hiking, so for me the hiking tour was quite demanding, but the views along the hiking trail are worth it. This tour is excellent value for money.

Challenging but amazing.

Amazing trip. It's not an easy walk, so be prepared with good walking shoes and right mindset. Skip the walk up the road and take taxi to the base. The guide was excellent. You are in good hands with this company.

Nice trail with nice guide and good service

We went hiking from Gallu Temple to Laka Glacier. Comfortable and not very difficult trail, possible to make it for 2 days. Himachal Bylocals helped us with a guide, transfer from McLeod to Gallu Temple and with a guesthouse. Every service was great! And the price also good. Raj helped us with all requests, found a transfer for us and was very pleasant at all. The guide was good also. We liked views, scenery and atmosphere of Triund and Laka Glacier. If you will be in Dharamsala go hiking definitely!

Worth the effort for amazing views and information

We had a fantastic day with our guide, Ashsish, who was informative and charming. He was considerate to individual needs. The trek is steep in places and very doable. It is worth the view all along and amazing at the top. The booking and meeting arrangements were also well done. Highly recommended !

Triund Day Trek.

Great trek, fantastic views on the way up, easy terrain to walk on, sturdy hiking shoes still required. Once at the top the view is breathtaking, well worth it. Tour guide was helpful and knowledgeable. Note, once you meet at the pick-up point it is either an extra 5km walk to the start of the trek, or you can pay for a taxi.

Great hike with awesome views

Great views, fantastic hike. Hike is definitely more difficult than other reviews suggest but doable for any level hiker. If you have any lower-body injuries such as ankle or knee sprains, avoid this as the terrain requires solid gripping. Highly recommend hiking shoes and not trainers. Worth it 100%

Day hike to Triund and back.

The views were spectacular and the guide was very courteous. He was mindful of varied fitness levels and able to look after the entire group.

Hard work, great rewards

Context: I’m 71 with two new hips, relatively fit, a walker and cyclist etc. I walked from McLeodgung, 9 clicks in 5 hours and down 6 clicks to the temple, another 3 hours. So, 15 clicks in 8 hours and a climb of 1000 meters. I was knackered. Going up is solid unrelenting ascent. Tips: take sun block, strong shoes and plenty of water, I had a guide. Mr Ranjeet, a totally fab bloke and something of a local hero - walker, runner. I’m glad I did it, but it was bloody hard work.

Fantastic Himalayan experience

Loved my tour with Ranjeet today, had a fantastic time and the weather was amazing. Really liked that there were plenty of places to stop and buy refreshments (especially the lemon juice drink just up from the waterfall!). Would highly recommend to anyone.

Great guide, fabulous views, satisfying trek

We did a day's hike to Triund and back with Ranjit who was fantastic. We were quite slow but he was so patient and helpful throughout. The trek itself is gorgeous and the right balance of challenging and doable for new trekkers. A must do in Dharamshala !

Best monsoon trekking experience, gorgeous views of the Dauladhar mountains and the valleys below..

We had the best experience of our life on our trek to Triund, the trek was a tough one, but the gorgeous views that we got to see from the Triund top, made us forget all the effort and difficulty that we had to go through while trekking. The monsoon has made the trek magical with many water streams flowing enroute, the clouds playing hide and seek all the time, and the gorgeous greenery of the hills. Our guide Ranjith was very good and encouraged us through our journey, and he accomodated our last minute decision to stay overnight on the Triund top, which gave us an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Dauladhar range in the evening light, with rays of the setting sun falling on the snow capped mountains and illuminating the entire range, it was a sight to behold. Next day morning we woke up to the most beautiful views, with the sun rising above the Dauladhar mountains and lighting up the entire valley below, it was an experience that would be etched in our memories forever.

The agency was very good and very accomdative. The guides especially Mr Susheel is very experienced and super nice. Had a wonderful experience.

Asheesh an excellent Triund Trek Guide

I was delighted to do the Triund Trek with Asheesh as guide. Starting at Galoo (Gelu) it is the three hour hike to Triund with a stop half way. An amazing mountain top ridge. Return walk was 2 hours. Asheesh was knowledgeable, local and paced the walk to the needs of the group. He seemed to know not just the terrain and the walk and the history, but most of the local guides. There was bottled water at the cliff side cafe half way up and at the top of Triund. I would recommend Asheesh to anyone as an informed, warm hearted and professional guide. He is also an experienced mountain climber and guide.

Beautiful hike with a very helpful guide !

Sushil was a very helpful guide. He was on time and gave accurate information about all timings and ETAs. He helped us cross all sketchy sections. He was also very friendly and polite. Thank you for a great experience !

Beste guide I could wish for!

I had a great trip with guide Sushil to the Triund. All the communication I had with Raj was also very nice. Due to bad weather prediction I felt a bit insecure to go but he was so friendly to encourage me and to help me out with raincoat and walking stick. As weather can be in the mountains I only had sun that day and hem the hike was amazing. The last 1000 meter was steep and due to the fact I'm here in early feb still covered with snow. My shoes (trail running) did not had the best grip but the guide went beyond to have me safe and to give me a safe feeling. Sushil is knowledgeable and I would really recommend going on this hike! The view on top was amazing and left me speechless. I'm an semi experienced hiker but I'm also careful I would definitely recommend to this trek with guide especially when the snow is there!

We had a very nice day with our guide Ashish. We would never have found the way up to Triund alone. Our guide helped us find the way, made sure we felt comfortable and safe. Especially for first time visitors with not much time it’s highly recommended to walk with a guide. Ashish was also entertaining, funny and we could ask him a lot of questions about the place.

Triund Trek

Amazing experience. Super awesome guide Ranjeet who was very motivating. I was prepared to only go half way but he convinced me the fruits of the climb will be stunning and it didn’t disappoint! While we were there he also operated the shop and made people Maggi! Easy booking experience, clear communication from hosts.

Chai with a View

My daughter and I wanted to hike to Triund but were not confident going it alone. Ash was the perfect companion. He met us at our hotel and organised the taxi to the temple. He let us go at our own pace and shared some local knowledge. The company were very easy to deal with, prompt and courteous. Highly recommend.

Great Experience!

Having Raj sir as a guide for our tour made our trekking experience even more better. For a beginner like me, not only was he patient and helped provide tips to make the walk easier but also provided the encouragement to reach the top. Highly recommend Himachal by locals for such activities!

Great Triund Trek- albeit to the halfway point!

Being above 60, I'd wanted a private guided trek to Triund so that I could do it at my pace. Raj Bhatia of Himachal Bylocals understood my requirements perfectly. He organised pickup from the hotel and an excellent guide- Sushil. A bit out of shape after 2 years of Covid enforced inactivity, I found it quite strenuous to start with but with frequent rest halts and Sushil’s encouragement was able to proceed quite well. At the half way ‘Magic Point’, I realised that going forward to Triund and back on the same day would be beyond my capability so decided to retrace. Even the halfway trek was quite a thrill - the views are fantastic and the whole experience gives you a high of a different level! For a person beyond 50 and not an experienced trekker, I would suggest an early start (I was lazy and made a late start), plan on camping overnight at Truind and return the next day via Bhagsu waterfalls. Though the trek is classified as easy to moderate- it is quite strenuous. The track is narrow and rocky, mostly uphill with very few easy stretches and becomes steeper and more difficult after the halfway point. Special thanks to Sushil for a very rewarding day. He was extremely cooperative an encouraging.

Excellent Triund experience

My guide wasexcellent, Rey knowledgeable about the local flaura/fauna and history, was great about leaving me to my pace as needed, prompt about arrival and much more.

It was good

The place was amazing. The original guide couldn't come due to some personal crises but we were arranged with another hiker on spot. The new hiker was a bit in hurry and couldn't communicate well thought the hike. But he was humble and respectful. Overall the experience was good.

Breath taking

The trekker was very experienced and we guys being first time trekkers he knew how to tackle the problems faced by first timers. The trek was very beautiful and highly recommended.

Trek to Triund

We were 5 friends on a day tour hike to Triund. Our guide was excellent who explained us and took good care of us all throughout! We were happy to have completed the trek during snow and rain!
