Fantastic experience

I had a fabulous time. Our tour guide Carlos was really informative and helpful. Saw heaps of wildlife including Brolgas and crocodiles. We had enough time at all the stops and the pace was really good.

Enjoyed the action packed day-much driving, by enthusiastic and helpful guide Bec, who was a mine of information on the birds of Fogg Dam (we drove through fog to get there). also the introduction to Kakadu. Crocodiles were asleep.

World heritage listing well earned

Carlos was an amazing driver/guide. He was extremely friendly, witty, knowledgeable and very easy going and approachable. He took the time to chat with everyone individually. He was extremely helpful to me. I was travelling alone and was somewhat apprehensive about the walk up the rocks to see the various art work and to experience the amazing view at the top of the rock formations. He insisted on being my physical support as I made my way up the uneven and sometimes steep sections that had no handrails. Thanks so much Carlos for making my day better!!

10/10 recommend this tour! Autopia is a brilliant company that offers a smaller group experience, a well-planned itinerary, friendly and approachable staff and guides. Darryl was vibrant, approachable, friendly and knowledgeable of the area and the sites visited! We spent a considerable amount of time at all the attractions, Arnhem land is one of the most spectacular sites that you will ever see! I will definitely be booking future tours with this company again!

Kakadu day trip from Darwin

Highly recommend this trip as the scenery at Kakadu National Park was amazing and the experience was made all the better by our very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide Bec. Bec's stories of her personal experiences living in Kakadu made the trip even more interesting and she was able to take us all to some beautiful spots. A thoroughly enjoyable trip. Thanks bec!

A great NT experience.

We had Danni and Tom as guides full of knowledge and great at their jobs. We had a great day sightseeing starting at 7.30 am and arriving home at 7.30 pm was a long day but we covered a lot of ground. Would highly recommend.

An adventure in one day

A great trip, led by the entertaining, organised and highly informative Danni who also drove our purpose built 4WD coach. Yes, it’s a long drive, bumpy in parts and can be hot outside, but you are rewarded by being able to sit back in air conditioned comfort and take in spectacular scenery and expert commentary (and Danni’s version is also entertaining, not just a bunch of facts and figures!). There’s also no worries about damaging a hire vehicle or getting lost once you’re out of range and your online maps stop working….. There were other guides on the tour to keep an eye on the whole group of varying ages and abilities, who also did a great job. Thanks to “Wild Man” Damian for adding to the sense of adventure! Danni and the crew were professional yet fun, I highly recommend this tour especially if you do t have time for a multi day trip to Kakadu. We also did a one day Litchfield trip with Autopia, also led by Danni, and highly recommend that trip too. Thanks Danni and all the crew!

Best adventure

Was an amazing day. All the team members were absolutely fantastic. Danni was so knowledgeable. All of our group would have loved to sit round a camp and listen to her stories well done to Danni and your team. You will not be disappointed with this adventure. I will be back to take more stories in.

Great rock art, very long day on the bus

Great experience at Burrungkuy seeing rock art with very knowledgeable and interesting guide. A very long day on the bus and limited access within Kakadu due to the time of the year - I would come again but a few months later in the year.

Long way for little return

Albeit that we stood on the roadside for 1.5. Hours due to a shredded tyre that had to be replaced. The only thing we saw at Kakadu was some rock art, no water/waterfalls, not what we expected. Over 6 hours on a bus - just not worth it in our opinion.

Fantastic day trip to Kakadu

Our tour guide Dani was an amazing wealth of information, her knowledge of country and culture and willingness to share made it a most memorable day out at Kakadu.

Amazing Trip this Kakadu

Our tour guide Dani was awesome, right from getting on the bus made us feel welcome and prepared us for the day. Dani’s knowledge was amazing as we explored Kakadu and particularly the 1.5 hour hike to see the aboriginal art work and wonders of the environment. She made the trip so enjoyable the whole day.

Excellent tour

This was a very long day but well worth the trip. We believe that due to the weather , the trip may have been changed from ubirr Rock and cahills crossing, which was disappointing. Emily and Darrel did a great job taking us around with interesting facts of the scenery as we drove out. The jumping crocodiles are fantastic, but we had already done Fog Damn on a previous trip, so we went with the jumping crocodile cruise. Once that was over, we drove out to Kakadu. The long drives are broken up by stopping at the corroboree pub to buy sandwichs for lunch and then stopping at an art gallery in Jaibru to eat lunch. Then, to nourlangie for the walk around the rock art where Emily explained through the different drawings. Our biggest problem was in the afternoon. The long day meant we didn't leave Kakadu until late afternoon, and unfortunately, there was a very bad accident on the Arnhem highway, our only way back to Darwin. We had to detour back to Jaibru for 30 minutes before the call came through that the highway would be closed for the night. Unfortunately for Emily, it meant driving the 6-hour detour through Pine Creek back into Darwin. Circumstances that weren't anyone's fault, but it did make a longer day even more difficult.

Magestic

This was a long day, but totally worth it. Unfortunately I had to make a call to Autopia when 15 minutes after our stated pick up time, we were still waiting at our accomodation to be picked up. I had booked after hours the previous day and was assured by another guide on a tour we were on at the time that it would be fine to make the late booking and we would definitely be picked up as the manifest is printed off on the morning of each tour. They had also said they would leave a note for the guide, which didn’t happen. We were picked up shortly after the call I made, and on our way, so all good. I would rate the day a 5 if it hadn’t been for that small hiccup. Our guide Tim was professional, but easy going and lots of fun. He complimented the day with a cracking playlist of songs from local artists which was really special. Great commentary, a good sense of adventure and importantly a sense of humour! We did the croc cruise (for the second time, as we also did it on our Litchfield tour) and it was probably even more enjoyable second time as we weren’t so desperate to photograph everything. It really is a must do! Kakadu was spectacular, the scenery, the sounds, the walk, the rock painting and the stories - all so special. Would love to return to Kakadu on a multi day trip in the future. Definitely do this trip if you only have a day, but if you have more time, it would be worth dedicating some of it to this magical place.

Beautiful scenery, wildlife and rock art with a great guide!

We had an incredible day out to Kakadu with Becks as our guide. She was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained with fun facts on our long drive to the National Park. The rock art and scenery at Kakadu is breath-taking and well worth the long day tour. We didn't opt for the croc cruise but luckily we saw a crocodile (plus birdlife) in the wild at Fogg Dam while the rest of the group went on the cruise. It was like our own private safari!

Wildlife & Aboriginal life & art

Emily was a 1st rate guide! She had to speak & drive a huge van at the same time. She was extremely knowledgeable about everything from wildlife to politics of the national park to Aboriginal culture.

Leigh went the extra mile even during unfavourable conditions

Our trip to Kakadu looked troubled from the start given the recent heavy rain in Darwin and surrounds, as expected for the wet season. My partner and I went to do the Jumping Croc tour but unfortunately we seen no crocs due to the really high (and fast flow) of the Adelaide river - smart crocs staying out of it! Ironically we seen a couple of salties in the wetlands driving up to the cruise. When we got to Corroberee, our guide Leigh checked in with HQ as he was advised the Mary River was peaking out and predicted to spill across the bridge, which would have effectively left us stranded in Kakadu - they made the right call and decided to turn back for safety. Whilst frustrating as a guest, we understood what we were getting into given the season and safety comes first! Leigh was a fantastic tour guide from the get-go, telling us interesting facts and stories about the local environment, fuana and flora, as well as informing us about social issues in the area. He went the extra mile when he was advised to take us back to Darwin and showed us some extra spots on the way back. I hope to re-book with Autopedia in the future as they deserve the business, fantastic team. P.S. it's apparant Leigh loves fishing; if anyone is really into fishing and Leigh is your guide, enjoy the hot tips and recommendations!

Brilliant day whatever the weather

This was a fantastic trip and certainly lived up to our expectations. The 2 women tour leaders Emily and Becks were outstanding in keeping us informed of everything. Their knowledge of local artwork and area were superb. Loved the driving by Emily with the running commentary. We had opted for the Croc Cruise on the Adelaide river which again was a good hour spent watching the crocs and the man feeding them. The stop at the Bart Hut Mount Bundey was very good. Excellent hosts and great food. A good few hours spent here due to the Monsoon and flooding. What was truly outstanding is the fact that the owner of this tour company came out to rescue us in a SUV bus. Thank you all for a brilliant day and showing us respect.

For a great time.

I went on this tour unsure if it was good, what a surprise it was. The guide Bec was so friendly, helpful and super informative. Her attitude was so professional it made all of us in the bus at ease and happy to be there. The scenery was just amazing and Bec, knowing her job so well got the ranger to open a closed gate. The jumping crocodile part was part of my tour and you could see how well they did their job. It was amazing to see the crocodiles approach the boat like children attracted to a ice cream van. Great experience thanks to a great guide.

For visiting Kakadu I would recommend a longer trip, maybe 2/3 days. But if you do not have enough time, as in my case, this tour allows you to see a bit of the park and enjoy its amazing landscapes and wildlife. I had already done another tour with Leigh, our guide, so as soon as I saw him I knew we were in good hands. He is a great guide and provided us with all the information we could need, from the story of the park and the aboriginal people of this area to the wildlife and climate of the region. This allowed us to get a great overview of Kakadu and Fogg Dam and it encouraged us to go back for a longer stay.

A real bucket list trip!

Had such an amazing day on the Kakadu tour. Dani, our passionate guide was full of knowledge and fun facts! I paid to do the crocodile jumping cruise as an add on and I fully recommend it. The team on the cruise were super passionate about crocodiles and were full of information. It was amazing to be up close with the crocodiles without it feeling touristy and unethical. Sadly I was unwell from the heat later on in the day and Dani was super helpful and caring - thank you Dani for looking after me!! I really had such an amazing day and could not recommend this trip enough!!

Mixed reactions

This trip is not for everyone. First the time on the bus is much longer than you are led to believe from the short description online. The bus did not have very comfortable seats for such a long distance. At the site of the paintings there were significant areas with no steps, just rocks, and no or few railings. People should know this before signing up. That being said, our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area and aboriginal history and culture, being a lifelong resident of the area. She did an excellent job of keeping the tour on schedule, watching out for us regarding weather and hazards and making sure we got to see all the art available to us. We marveled at her energy and high spirits considering the high temperatures that day. I could not give a definite yes or no to whether or not I would recommend this trip to a friend. You have to really want to view this art (which we did) and be very flexible to conditions as they unfolded during the day.

Money very well spent

This trip was great. It was hot but amazing. The jumping crocs really showed off. Kakadu is a beautiful spiritual place. The whole trip had so many highlights. It is a long day but well worth it. Our guide, Leigh went the extra mile with his stories and his passion and love for the environment and the Territory. He made the trip very interesting. Thanks Leigh 🙏

Once in a lifetime trip- great guide I

I went on the Kakadu and Fogg dam tour with Tim it was a long drive, but it was fairly comfortable we had lots of cold water and air-conditioning and our guide Tim was very a knowledgeable crocodile Dundee type of local who gave us a lot of local information. It was amazing seeing the Kakadu rock as well as the beautiful scenery after the short walk and climb we didn't get the go down to walk around the Fogg Dam for safety reasons except for the lookout, which was amazing. Unfortunately, no food was provided despite the high cost. But Esky was provided and you can buy a simple lunch on the way. Food there was not great. My only grouse about the tour. It's worthwhile going despite the long drive , but you can probably can book direct with the tours operators at a much cheaper rate as I realized that pricing has changed recently and gone up significantly. Perhaps a sizeable commission maybe due to the booking agent fee?

My personal experience in kakadoo national park

Too fast the tour. It would be Better less stop but longer, possibly speaking with Australian civil aboriginal, It also would be useful some virtual 3d display or show or something like that tò explain aboriginal Life and habits. Nicola Fraietta from Italy

Kakadu in 12hrs

Great guide so knowledgeable and informative and engaging, but without him it would be a very very long day. If you just want to visit Kakadu then strap in for 12-13 hours, if you want to experience Kakadu i would spend a night at least, we did it the wrong way!

Kakadu

The rock paintings at Ubirr and climbing up the rocks for the amazing view of Kakadu were the highlight of my trip. Although I was disappointed there was not much wildlife to be seen, as it was not a wet time of year.

Memorable Experience in Kakadu National Park

We enjoyed our excursion to Kakadu with our guide Dani. She was extremely knowledgeable regarding the life of the indigenous people and the flora and fauna of the area. It was such a wonderful experience to see the rock paintings and learn the stories that went along with the paintings. It is a very long drive from Darwin. Visitors must be prepared for a three-hour drive each way.

Adventure

Everything really, crocodiles, rock paintings, the landscape. As we were held up by mechanical problems, we arrived at Kakadu layer than anticipated but the bonus was seeing flying Foxes in flight. The company & our driver (Matt) looked after us well.

Great way to see Kakadu

A great day tour. The driver guide was excellent, lots of local knowledge. Explained the landscape and how the weather affected it. They knew the spots to visit and timed arrival to suit the tide. Food stops and rest breaks well timed. I would recommend this tour for anyone who only has a day to visit Kakadu. Saw plenty of crocodiles in their natural environment, even saw one catch lunch. I rarely give 5 stars, so this is the real deal.

A Long Day seeing very little.

7.30 departure with Iris. It was a 12 hr trip but we only saw Fogg Dam, Ubirr Rock Art and Cahills Crossing. We had a couple of stops enroute for toilet and purchase of food as nothing was provided. The rest of the time was spent driving. We learnt quite a bit about the area but really thought the tour lacked in the fact we didnt visit many places - not even the local Aboriginal Centre. We felt sorry for Iris having to drive so far without a proper break. All our other tours were more interesting and food /snacks were provided. Recommend the Corroboree Billabong Wetland experience or Litchfield Park for much more interesting itinerary.

A day at Kakadu

The day started really well with the jumping croc boat tour Short and sharp , staff were informative and funny Headed to Cahill’s crossing and was amazed with the amount of crocs waiting for tide to change and get a feed From there to the Art caves which were amazing Beck our guide was brilliant She made us feel welcome , was very knowledgeable , polite , funny and has a great connection to the area. You know you’ve had a good day when you are on and off a bud for 12 hours and it goes quick. Thank you for a wonderful day Beck is a superstar so ask for her as your guide. Cheers Viv and Pat

5 star experience

This was an excellent trip, it was a long and very warm day but Becs our guide was amazing, she kept us amused and well informed throughout and did everything she could to ensure we all had a wonderful time. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone 5 star experience

Kakadu & Croc Cruise.

We had a fantastic time, and the guide Audrea was just amazing. I would recommend Autopia Tours their great.

All in all, it was a really nice tour and I can only recommend it!

The Trip was really nice and our tour guide was lovely and helpful! He gave us a lot of information, that was interesting. I can only recommend this tour! Also if you didn't book the crocodile jumping cruise, you might see some of them later on.

Long drive worth it

The artwork and the stunning landscapes were well worth the drive. Our driver/guide (Iris) was excellent - informative but not over-bearing, and coped calmly with bus issues. The optional tour to the Fogg dam was also great.

We had a great day and many memorable experiences. Besides the highlights of Cahill Crossing and Ubirr, our tour guide Becs made the trip unforgettable with her extensive knowledge and enthusiasm. The bus trip was very long but our guide made several stops which gave us breaks to get off the bus and see stuff along the way. Best tour we had in all over Australia. We were able to see salties, wallabies, emus, lots of waterbirds, and even a horde of water buffalos.

Excellent trip, excellent guide....

To get to see a small part of the park was a wonderful experience, enhanced by a knowledgeable guide ( Lee). We were expecting a long day due to the vastness of the country but were kept entertained throughout journey. Regular rest stops were welcomed as well as supply of cold water.

Overpriced tour with nothing included!

Firstly, Dani the tour guide gets ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ as she was knowledgeable and passionate about preserving Aboriginal lands and culture. However, I was greatly disappointed in this tour as it was extremely long without anything epic to see - a rocky lookout which was pretty average and some Aboriginal rock arts which was great but not worth the money I have paid! As a first timer in Darwin, I came here particularly to see the famous waterfall and canyon that shows on Google. I was greatly disappointed as this tour really misled me. Furthermore, after paying 240$ dollars, you expect at least something provided to you during such a long day, but not even water was given to us. If you want a jumping crock tour - pay an additional $50! What a rip off. Do yourself a favour and take the Litchfield adventures tour where you get all the spectacular views, swimming in waterfalls, rock holes and a Jumping crock cruise is included! They provided us with lunch, ice water and plenty of snacks throughout the day - and it cost 180$. I think that Autopia is disgraceful even though their tour guide was amazing.

Great, highly recommended day trip

The trip was absolutely awesome with breath-taking views, fantastic bird watching and amazing Aboriginal art work. Mattia was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and he made sure every group member enjoyed their time. Thanks a lot for this special day.

Good way to see Kakadu if you have only a short amount of time

I joined Autopia Tours Darwin Kakadu day trip while I was staying at Cullen Bay Resorts. Autopia picked me up from and dropped me back at the resort, which was handy. Although a long drive, the trip was enjoyable with a pleasant guide who had good knowledge of aboriginal culture and history. The highlight of the tour, the Ubirr walk with its amazing ancient rock art, the lookout over the floodplains, woodlands and dark ribbons of rainforest, was fantastic.
