Very enjoyable

We really enjoyed this, more than we thought we would after wandering around before the tour. Our male guide was great, happy to answer lots of questions. The open fire was appreciated.

Devils at their best

What an amazing experience to see the little creatures from pretty close. It was so cool to learn more about them and our guide was the funniest. Loved it. We also like the fact that you can return the next day to see the devils during the day (and yes they are active). The only downside we thought was that the group was just too big. We couldn’t always see or hear the whole story. And people are like animals running and pushing to get in front. We thought that the guide could have asked the people in the back to switch with the people in the front so that everyone could enjoy the evening (especially with the quolls). Other than that, it’s a very interesting evening out while helping the good cause.

Absolutely my highlight so far of our Tassie trip. The English lady doing the tour was so passionate about the animals. Our kids (various ages) were quiet for the first time on our trip. The devils were so cute and entertaining. Highly recommend for any animal lover.

Thankyou to Sarah for opening our eyes to the life of the tassie devils and quolls. A very informative small group sunset tour , where you are able to pat a hand reared tassie devil and learn lots of fascinating " facts" of life in their world. A walk around the quolls, and then feeding of the devils. Money well spent in saving the numbers of these species.

Sunset Devil Tour is a Must Do whilst at Cradle Mountain

We loved our tour of the Devils at Cradle sanctuary so much, one of the best things we did on our Tassie holiday. I loved it so much I also adopted a Quoll while we were there. We got to hear about the lives of the devils and quolls, watch them feed and we got to enjoy a wine/beer and Tasmanian sweet treat also. Sarah was an amazing guide, love what this sanctuary is doing for these two endangered species/

Brilliant evening with Tasmanian Devils and Quolls. Guide was knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. Small group so got see see lots and the 1.5 hours tour time is bout right. Highly recommended.

Must do when at Cradle Mountain

Fantastic experience. Loved every minute and would highly recommended. Seeing the devils get fed was a great experience as was learning more about these amazing animals. Learning and feeding the Quolls was an added bonus. They are super cute and an animal I didn’t know much about so found it very informative. The facility is very well set up and the animals well loved. The staff were also great and very informative.

Are your guide Pru was amazing with great knowledge, also very passionate about the sanctuary 🥰, which made it even more amazing. Highly recommend a visit.

Close encounters of the dasyurid kind.

All staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Our guide very approachable and informative. Hearing actual Tasmanian Devils and viewing them interact, including seeing their ears flare red when angry, was wonderful. How can such a shy creature be so fierce? A joy for me was learning about quolls, how they are closely related to Devils, and that this organisation is helping build a quoll breeding stock to increase the endangered population. We arrived early and had the freedom to wander around the sanctuary before our tour.

Friendly and communicative keepers who are passionate about their animals...and that passion is contagious! The devils and quolls put on a great show! Worth the visit, absolutely.

Gives you a new perspective an animal people love to hate.

Seeing the animals up close and learning so much about them. Went in not liking Tasmanian Devils and came out quite liking them! The knowledge imparted by the guide was amazing.

Great experience and value for money

This was a really good animal experience. Sarah led the group and was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic. You’re able to get a really look look at both Tasmanian Devils and Quolls as well as learn a great deal about both species. I considered it money well spent and took a gazillion photos and videos 😊

Top Experience and a Must Do

We did the 7:00pm feeding tour which included time with a Joey which we both loved. This tour exceeded what I expected and I left with more knowledge and appreciation of these amazing creatures. The keeper/tour guide was superb, thank you (I have a new appreciation of poo 😂). Highly recommended. You need to book ahead. Do the late tour if you can.

Make sure you visit the devils!

Excellent, informative experience …guides are wonderful and spend plenty of time interacting with visitors, asking and answering every question …very patient with the children in our group. The guides clearly love their jobs and the animals they care for. It is amazing to see the devils n quolls feeding …they are ferocious and crunch through even a possums head!! Highly recommend everyone visiting. We combined a day visit in the morning then returned for the night feeding …..fantastic experience.

Interesting and informative

Very educational and informative. My 5 year old got a bit restless towards the end so probably better suited for kids a little older. You get to see the devils and quolls up close in their sanctuary environment and I have a new appreciation for these amazing carnivorous marsupials! The tour guide was really passionate and entertaining.

The tour guide was amazing, very knowledgeable about genetics, breeding, lifecycles etc. she entertained the audience well and gave plenty of relevant info. We thoroughly enjoyed it

A must do. The keepers were informative and very entertaining. We were advised to go early and see them before the feeding to see the difference and we are glad we did. They were amazing to watch. Would highly recommend.

Great way to see Tasmanian Devils

Great place to visit, staff extremely knowledgeable and friendly, was a great experience and well worthwhile. The animals are so cute and even though it was raining we had a great time. Would go back again.

Learn a lot and see some Devils

This was a great tour to see Tassie Devils and Quolls. Our guide Rory was extremely knowledgeable and did a fantastic job of educating us on all the animals. Pack several layers if you’re doing this in the winter - it was extremely cold!

Highly recommended feeding tour

It was a great education into some of Australia's lesser known marsupials. The keepers were very informative and answered everybody's questions. It was fascinating to see these carnivores eat their dinner. The quolls are very cute.

The night feeding tour was very informative and throughly enjoyable. The sanctuary is well maintained and gets you up close and personal with the wildlife.

After dark feeding and dessert with the devils tours

A must do! Amazing facility and the staff are so passionate. We really enjoyed the after dark feeding. We also stayed for dessert with the devils which was a highlight as we got to interact with a devil Joey. Our 8 year old love it and it was the best part of our weekend at Cradle Mountain

We had planned this outing without really knowing what to expect, but we were won over by the place. the explanations given by a passionate guide were clear and very interesting. we could see tasmanian devils and quolls, impressive!

Awesome place, must visit these angry little blighters!

We did the After Dark Tour and OMG we froze! It was so cold for us, visiting from WA on our 40th Wedding Anniversary tour of Tassie. We loved this place. The guy who presented the tour was passionate and knowledgeable. These places are essential to help save Tassie Devils but boy whilst these little guys are super cute they can be such angry little blighters! There were also Quolls and a few other species, which we didn't get to see on our tour as it was mainly about the Devils. Highly recommend visiting whilst at Cradle Mountain.

Amazing must see experience! Beautiful animals and the after dark tour was a great time to see them. The sanctuary is doing great work to ensure the devils and quolls continued survival. This project gets no government funding, so if you take the tour and buy merchanise you will be backing the work these people are doing in conservation to these beautiful animals. Gemma an engaging and knowledgeable presenter. Highly recommend!

A ‘Must Visit’ spot on your Cradle Mountain your.

A very worthwhile place to visit. The guides were very passionate about the endangered creatures in their care and very knowledgeable. It was amazing to be able to see quolls and Tassie Devils up close and watch them feed. We now have a much better appreciation for our native wildlife and the dangers our unique creatures face.

Devil's feeding

We loved this experience. You must enter the park area and the entry to the devils is after the Info centre on the right. It is quite a small set up but easy parking, a good gift store, friendly staff and a vast number of fenced-in areas for the tassie devil and the close relative the quoll. We spent about 40 min walking around the areas watching and taking photos of the animals before the tour. The tour was very informative and our guide had so much knowledge of everything about the devils. He was friendly, talked loudly and clearly loved the animals and was passionate about their preservation. We got to watch the devils and quolls feeding. The only thing is it was very cold - make sure you rug up. We did wear lots of clothes. There is nothing for food or drink there and it would have been nice to have a coffee machine there to warm us up - we wouldn't have minded paying. This tour is definitely worth it.

Great experience

Great experience, learnt lots about lol the animals at the sanctuary. Learnt lots about the two species of quolls that live in Tasmania, I didn’t know Tasmania had quolls to begin with. The guide had lots of information on all animals.

Worth visiting

Devi's@ Cradle is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and especially if the weather is bad (as there is not much else to do!). We booked the After Dark Feeding tour and the Joey Encounter. With the Joey Encounter we were able to get up close with the animals (in our case it was the wombat, quoll and tassie devil) by either holding, feeding or patting them. Both tours are very informative and the noises these tassie devils make during feeding time is something to behold! On site there is a gift shop and also a nice, warm room where you can hide away from the elements.

Please support them

What an amazing experience seeing these beautiful animals in their habitat. We heard of the plight to save these beautiful native animals and of the Spotted Quoll. Funding is urgently required to eradicate the disease that is endangering these 2 species. Please support this facility by visiting and learning what we can do to help support them.

Great display of threatened species, could get up close. The guide gave a very informative, engaging and amusing narrative about the animals as she hand fed them in their enclosures.

After dark Tasmanian Decil Feeding tour at Crale Mountain

Great experience. My husband and I went to to 5.30pm session. It was fantastic to see and hear the Tassy Devils and quolls being fed. Lots of great information about these special animals. The only tip I would give is to not book a stay too far away after this experience. Hubby and I were on hyper alert during our trip to the next destination as dusk is the key feeding time for Aussie animals.
