Wineglass Bay Cruise from Coles Bay

Another brilliant cruise with Pennicott Wilderness Journeys

Our 2nd cruise in 6 days with this company. The staff on this cruise, once again, are a credit to the business. We chose the Vista Lounge with lunch. What is fantastic about this company is they cruise with only 1 person. This vessels holds over 100 people and on our trip there were 13 of us and 4 of them were upstairs. Everyone is offered ginger tablets before we head off and given tips to help with sea sickness. The staff are also very safety conscious and if anyone is out on the front or back deck, one of the staff comes out and stays to monitor/assist you moving around. We saw seals as we left the wharf. We then saw more seals, sea eagles in their nest, various sea birds, whales heading into Wineglass Bay and whales heading back home. Beautiful coast line and some interesting stops like the Twin Tubs and then dropping anchor for lunch in Wineglass Bay. Lunch was a prepacked meal, but very good with a variety of fresh produce and cold meats. There is also a licensed bar that sells a variety of hot and cold drinks and snacks.

Great day! We decided to do the cruise and had a perfect day. Weather was great, whales, seals and birds were out and about and the landscape was amazing. The crew were engaging and eager to ensure a positive experience for all onboard. Thank you!

There were humpback whales which was exciting, seals and the water was flat so a very comfortable ride, lovely lunch and bubbles. It made our 65th Anniversary special.

A great way to see some spectacular Tassie sights.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this trip and found it well worthwhile. We splashed out on the sky lounge and am so glad we did as the food and service was excellent along with the excellent commentary from Noah the skipper on the day. No complaints at all and highly recommend this one to see the sights in the bay. We even came across a whale in our travels which was an unexpected bonus.

The crew were great and very caring and informative. The cruise was adjusted to the conditions but still we were able to see a lot.

Not to be missed

This cruise was fantastic. We took the upper deck "Adults Only" option and were not disappointed. To sit in the middle of Wineglass Bay and have lunch with a glass of wine - where else in the world would you want to be. The Team members were fantastic, particularly Noah and Anna. The care taken by Anna in helping passengers who were experiencing motion sickness and those with mobility issues was exceptional . Great team .

A terrific day out!

We opted for the premium option, which worked really well, as it was pretty rough and we had plenty of room to relax and move around. The whole outing was terrific, great commentary which made you feel as if you were participating in a really special adventure. The skipper took the boat in for close inspection of interesting features - fur seals, shy albatross, rock formations, beautiful beaches. History, geology, wildlife - a fascinating mix of information and anecdote. The scenery is spectacular, wildlife exceptional (and so good to have it all explained and highlighted). I recommend everyone to take seasickness tablets before they board - the crew provided ginger tablets, but it is a very exposed area and, despite the skipper's best efforts, some turbulence is inevitable. Service was great. Highly recommended.

Great adventure

The beautiful coast line and very lucky to have calm waters as we entered the Tasmanian sea. Staff were very friendly & informative

Beautiful views of nature

A wonderful crew took us around spectacular scenery. We followed a pod of dolphins, saw seals playing and enjoyed a lovely lunch. The only downside on the day was that the comms were playing up so we didn’t hear a lot of the commentary.

Cruising Delight

Fantastic crew, stunning scenery, and memorable wildlife. The dolphins were an absolute highlight! Everything was done with absolute professionalism and the utmost concern for passengers.

What an amazing experience. The weather was great but a little windy and chilly but it was a great value for money experience. Must be done.

Wineglass Bay and Beyond

This cruise far exceeded my expectations! After initially feeling disappointed that it was a rainy day, this soon turned into 'how lucky are we'? The crew were magnificent and looked after everyone so well. The captain kept us all informed and, although it rained, this meant the colours of the rocks were more vivid and the waterfalls more spectacular. It also meant the wildlife were more active and we got to see fur seals, sea eagles, albatrosses and more! The lunch was very delicious too! A fun 4.5 hours that was very memorable!

Incredible views. Excellent service by the crew. Very friendly atmosphere. Food was great. Staff were very attentive and approachable all the time.

Pleasant day out on the water

The cruise is a pleasant trip around to Wineglass Bay. Points of interest and some history are noted whe cruising along. You have the option of spending time out on the deck if you wish. Our trip included seeing seals, dolphins and albatross. Lunch was nice, you also have the option to purchase drinks if you wish

Great way to see Frecinet sights

Overall a wonderful experience! The boat and particularly the crew were excellent and you get to see sights and the bay and Tasman sea landscape that you can only see by boat. We saw seals, dolphins, eagles and lots of other birds.

Absolutely the best day

We did the Wineglass Bay cruise with lunch today. The whole experience from start to finish exceeded our expectations by miles. On the cruise we saw seals, dolphins, sea eagles and other rare birds. Lunch on board was also well presented and the opportunity to have wine while anchored quietly in Wineglass Bay was superb. Best day cruise ever!

Enjoyable

We enjoyed the cruise and saw lots of wildlife, staff were the highlight and lunch was good. Whale season would of been better time to go

Great Cruise Great Staff

We really enjoyed our cruise in the Sky Lounge. The weather was not great - some rain and rough but we managed to get out into the ocean and to Wineglass Bay Noah is a great skipper and Kate looked after us really well The lunch was very good We saw dolphins, Albatross- several and Sea Eagles (2) A really enjoyable day 4/5 only because the weather was not great

Great day even though we couldn’t go to Wineglass Bay

This tour was fantastic. I was initially disappointed, as very windy weather meant that we could not go into Wineglass Bay, but had to go an alternate route. But we really enjoyed the day anyway. We saw lots of wildlife - seals, dolphins, albatross and other birdlife. The scenery was amazing. We paid the extra for the Sky Lounge and were pleased that we did. There was more room upstairs (banquette seating rather than rows of chairs). The food was delicious, with oysters and a plate with smoked salmon, cold meats, salad, cheese and fruit. There was a nice range of drinks included in the price. All the staff, including the captain, were very friendly and pleasant, and the commentary was engaging and interesting.

A great day out on the sea

Even though the weather wasn't sunny it was a great day out on the water from Coles Bay to Wineglass Bay. Even if you don't have sea legs they look after you offered ginger. The lunch was great value

Amazing

Great views and what a treat we saw dolphins - twice! Sadly weather was too rough to get to Wineglass Bay but still had a great time. Safety was their main concern which is important.

Awesome cruise full of adventure and fun.. despite the bumpy weather!

Noah and the team were amazing guides. Entertaining, insightful and professional. Food was beautiful, views were outstanding. The experience was one of the highlights of our Tassie trip.

Scenic Beauty

The boat ride was beautiful with stunning sights. The scenery was beautiful and the crew outstanding. We had a great day, we saw seals, dolphins and albatross. We would highly recommend.

An overall good value cruise

The skipper kept us informed about all that we saw and even ventured out a bit further off shore to see if any mammals were jumping around. It wes a calm day at sea. The plowmans lunch exceeded my expectations. The staff were very helpful

Fantastic day trip

Ewan and the crew were amazing. They were attentive, funny and so full of information. Ewan took the boat to more places so we could see as many things as possible. We even had dolphins swimming around us. Lunch was a great bento box. All in all it was a fabulous day. Highly recommend this trip.

An absolutely awesome day!

The wind was blowing a gale in the wrong direction for the cruise to safely go to wineglass bay so, we had an alternative cruise. The cruise was even better! we sailed to places that are usually off the grid. We saw so much wildlife in their natural habitat - seals, seabirds and dolphins. The boat was very comfortable, the staff were amazing - very friendly and could not do enough for you. Ginger tablets were provided to all at the start in case of sea sickness.,

Worth every cent

The cruise far exceeded my expectations. The staff were simply fantastic and so knowledgeable of the local area. Highly recommend ☺️

The surroundings were spectacular. I was particularly impressed by the crew who took very good care of us from start to finish. Ploughman’s Lunch was excellent. Very attentive to one passenger who was seasick. Thank you

A great day on the water.

The crew were very friendly and informative in a casual professional way. They made everyone feel welcome and did everything to ensure we all had an enjoyable cruise. There were always looking out for their guests, ensuring we were all safe, without being in any way overbearing or intrusive. These guys have really nailed it and it looked as though they enjoyed themselves too. The lunch was good and the service great. Ewan was full of good commentary that was fun and informative. We had a great time with Wineglass Bay Cruises and highly recommend them.

The dolphins and seals but the scenery was spectacular east coast of Tasmania is absolutely gorgeous we will be back

An amazing experience with the opportunity to see lots of wildlife.

This was a fabulous experience. The boat was first class, the accompanying food and drinks were excellent. The crew were amazing, friendly, easy to talk to, with more than their fair share of bad puns! This was one of our best experiences in Tasmania. We saw seals, two pods of dolphins, which delighted the passengers by surfing the bow waves of the boat. We also saw sea eagles and flying fish. We had amazing weather, so all up, an amazing day.

The scenery was...

The scenery was breathtaking and the crew were amazing, friendly, funny and informative! We saw numerous dolphins and the captain went out of his way to find them.

Very friendly and informative guides, great weather and a wonderful place

This was a great trip the giliides were very informative, friendly and funny. Saw pods of dolphins, some eagles, and a fisherman catch a shark. The natural scenery of the coast is beautiful

An amazing experience

Fantastic day out; although I was seasick. The others in our party were fine. Noah went over and above to ensure I was ok at all times. Even offering complimentary drinks (water, tea, lemonade) and changing over my sick bags. He even handed me my lunch box on departure as I didn't eat it during the cruise. All staff were friendly, welcoming and up for a chat.

Wineglass Bay Cruise

We had booked this cruise via a travel agent in the UK so did not quite know what to expect. We were very lucky with the weather as the day before had been very windy with rough seas and we wondered whether we would go or not. On the day, the sea was calm and we were able to take the full cruise to Wineglass Bay. We had paid for the Adults Only option which means you are in the upper deck with excellent food and unlimited drinks throughout the cruise. We had a snack mid morning, plus an excellent salad lunch which included fresh oysters. The Captain and his crew were very knowledgeable about the area, explaining the local history and introduced us to both dolphins and seals. The Captain also had a great sense of humour! There is no opportunity to go swimming during this trip. This was a great day out.

Stunning scenery

The crew were amazing, the scenery absolutely stunning. Food and drinks delicious. Had an amazing day and were lucky to see seals sunvajing on the rocks and a pod of dolphins escorted us into and out of Wineglass Bay. Fabulous trip. Special thanks to Tas for hosting and Noah the skipper, both have fantastic knowledge of the area, the wildlife and impart it with obvious pride and they don't make it seem like a chore

Fun, Must Do

Excellent Crew, informative, fun, friendly, efficient. Knowledgeable. The Captain of the boat was amazing, spotting the signs for dolphins and other wild life and navigating in such a way that everyone on the boat got to see them. Highly recommend this tour!

Outstanding Cruise

This had it all, friendly staff, beautiful scenery, great weather, whales, dolphins, seals and a great lunch! The three of us thoroughly enjoyed the cruise from Coles Bay to Wineglass Bay. The captain was very informative as well. There was a bit of swell running so considerately moored in a calm bay while having lunch. A must do in the area if the weather is good.

Wildlife

We saw lots of dolphins, birds and a few seals. Sea cliffs are fantastic. The front deck is accessible, you can really enjoy sunshine, wind and views.

Fantastic Day Out

This tour was beyond expectations- the crew were fantastic and kept us entertained with their comments. Great Aussie banter. Extremely well organised - the meal was great . The crew kept us well informed of history and the wildlife to expect. The Captain went out of his way to stop and point out the native seals and dolphins etc. it was a great day.

Spectacular and fun day

Scenery was spectacular Crew were welcoming, fun and caring for their passengers. Nothing was too much trouble - they were about making our day special Great knowledge of the various features especially letting us know where a pod of dolphins were around, showing us the blowholes, caves and waterfalls

Best Day in Tassie

Cruising on a high powered catamaran, in the Tasman Sea, along the amazing coastline, to Wineglass bay with the sun shining and calm seas was one of the best days ever. Then it got even better when the skipper spotted several dolphin pods feeding. I've never seen so many dolphins together at one time. Later in the day we also viewed a few fur seals. The crew was lovely as well. It was a Wonderful experience!

A terrible experience

Frankly we shouldn't have gone out because of the poor weather. It was very rough and many of us spent a large portion of the trip using the sick bags. It curtailed our plans for the rest of the day/ evening as we were very unwell.

Amazing. You must do this

We had extremely calm conditions and paid for the sun deck. It was amazing. The crew were fantastic, friendly and caring. Thanks guys

Exceeded all expectations

I would highly recommend this to anybody considering this tour. Of course every day will be different, but we had beautiful weather and saw lots of wildlife (including dolphins and fur seals)! The team was very friendly and funny, interacting with everybody and making everyone feel included. There is tons of commentary along the way and the captain points out any fascinating animals or sights on the cruise. TLDR: Yes, book this tour!

Great crew make every cruise a winner.

We had a magnificent day, little wind and slight sees. This meant thE skipper had lots of flexibility and we saw it all. In close to the coast with the seals, out with dolphins feeding and magnificent Wine Glass Bay all to ourselves for lunch. We brought our own lunch as kids are fussy eaters. Beer wine coffee and soft drink available very reasonably on board. A couple of our group got a bit sea sick and the crew were great at helping them. Skipper and crew were fantastic and really keen to make sure everyone had a good day. Pretty expensive but we say worth it. TAKE THE FREE GINGER TABLETS WHEN THEY ARE OFFERED.
