Great Experience

It had been 56 years since I sat on a horse and this was a great experience. Although my horse was so relaxed I ended up lagging behind a bit. More time on the beach and less in the bush would have been lovely.

A relaxing way to experience Cape Tribulation

It is great to see this iconic attraction back up and running after Cyclone Jasper. Happy horses and great local knowledge from guide Jerry. The low tide meant the usual highlight of walking the horses into the coral sea was out and they don't allow cantering on the beach any more due to insurance restrictions but it is a beautiful way to experience the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation beach.

A must do!

We had an absolutely stellar afternoon with the team at Cape Trib horses. The drive there was sensational, the property was so stunning. Just free roaming horses everywhere and all so friendly and well taken care of. The guides/cowboys were good fun and easy going. The whole experience was excellent, my daughter loved it as did I!

Best experience

Our guide, Jerry, was funny and super knowledgable about the land, indigenous tribes and the early settlers. The horse ride through the forest and to the beach was beautiful and has been the highlight of my trip. He also took amazing photos of the experience.

Safe, Relaxing and Beautiful

Safe and well supervised riding for all abilities. The guides are knowledgeable and friendly. Location is beautiful and horses are in good condition. I would highly recommend this ride for horse lovers with a beach ride on your bucket list!

Amazing experience

Amazing experience, I would highly recommend! Riding through the water was an highlight and our tour guide Jerry was super knowledgeable of the land and the horses. He pointed out native wildlife along the way and went out of his way to take pictures for everyone. Would love to do it again.

Beautiful Horse Ride

Horse ride was beautiful and Jerry let us try some native fruits and was very knowledgeable! Such a nice tour guide. Lovely day!

Best ride ever

The guides were fabulous and had lots of knowledge about the area. It was a great ride through the rainforest and onto the beach. All in all a wonderful experience with very well behaved horses. Couldn't fault it. Thanks guys

In the Daintree ..... "Horsing around"

On a four day trip through the Daintree that my wife surprised me with for my birthday we decided to ride horseback along the beach with this company. Both ride managers, "Gauchos" Pedro and Jerry were excellent at managing the ride. Personable and Knowledgeable we couldn't have asked for better. The experience was both safe and exciting as we waded our horses through the beachfront water. This is something that is worth doing and bring your camera, especially for the ocean scenes. A ride in paradise

Awesome staff. Great location. Lovely horses. A gentle ride through an absolutely beautiful environment. Not something to do if you want to canter along the beach but if you want a simply lovely experience in an incomparable part of the world then this is for you. Our guides were wonderful sharing their local knowledge as we rode along.

From the Jungle to the beach on horseback

This is a very safe horse riding activity that takes you through the beautiful tropical landscape of Cape Tribulation. Gerry and the other horse guides were brilliant pointing out many of the plants and trees as we wandered down to the beach . We loved the scenery, the beach ride , the jungle trail and our super helpful guides and the beautiful quiet horses. Plus we saw a huge goanna on a tree as we passed by. Highly recommended.

Great tour for first time horseriding!

Very nice experience for beginners! We liked it that you get to see the rainforest and the beach during 1 trip. They could have chosen a different way back from the beach to the place where we started, but for the first experience it was fine. If you already have some experience the tour gives you some nice views, but you are only allowed the ride in a line behind each other, no further riding lesson or change in speed. The guides were really great! Made the tour much fun. They have many knowledge on the area!

Magical experience

Riding across the beach and through the water was just magical. The horses were wonderful and the two guides were outstanding and clearly passionate about the environment and the horses in their care, particularly Jerry.

Great and flexible Organisation, amazing and knowledgeable owner, who is always interested to tell the story! Beautiful ride through the forest and beach. It was a pity the horse we rode looked like she was very tired.

Beautiful experience

Stunning scenery and friendly guides. A truly wonderful experience. Suitable for people with no riding experience, the horses are very quiet and settled. Highly recommend it.

Great way to see Cape Tribulation

The guides were friendly & knowledgable, and the horses were really tame. This ride caters for the absolute beginner and is a great way to see the area. I loved the ride across the sand and through the water. My only complaint would be that the helmets need a good clean. My hair stank at the end of the ride, and this was despite me choosing the least smelly helmet that I could find.

A majestic day

Just really lovely people who provide great care for ex racehorses who are loved and treated very well. With plenty of grass for their retirement, each horse only does one 1.5-2 hour walk every second day. A lovely experience.

Wow! What a ride!

Fantastic!! The horses were super quiet and well behaved! What a wonderful way to see the Daintree Rainforest! The tour guides were friendly and very knowledgeable on the area, it was just unbelievable! 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Such a wonderful experience

Wow!! What an incredible way to experience the rainforest and the beach at Cape Trib. We had the best time. I took my two girls, 11 & 15, and we all loved it. Despite the rain it was the perfect afternoon. We even saw a cassowary, no crocs! The team was friendly and gave great local information. Well worth the visit!!

Amazing horse ride

An amazing afternoon riding the horses. It was raining but stuff were great providing all the necessary equipment for the rain. It was still a very enjoyable time. Highly recommend. Thank you!

Relaxing ride in the rainforest.

What a fabulous relaxing afternoon ride in Cape Tribulation. Through the rainforest then you come out onto the beach. Jerry was very informative about the local flora and fauna, and thanks to Brooke's keen eyes, she found my prescription sunglasses when we went back to look for them near the creek crossing in the ATV. Wonderful staff and beautiful gentle horses.

A great experience. Enjoyed the horse ride through the Daintree & on the beach. Was a bit disappointed that it was low tide so we weren’t able to get into the water too much. But other than that, the guide was very informative & we truly enjoyed the experience.

Beautiful horse ride on the beach

Amazing experience!! You can tell all the horses are loved and well looked after. We went for a beautiful stroll down through the forest onto the beach where we took the horses for a splash in the water. Highly recommend!

This experience was absolutely incredible i highly recommend it. The staff were amazing and so were the horses. Whether your a beginner or an experienced rider like myself this is a definite must if your in the area. My rating a 10/10 for these guys

Beautiful scenery, lovely horses and wonderful that the business is using ex racehorses who are able to live out their life free roaming on the huge property with the occasional plod down to the beach. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and took her time to ensure that everyone was comfortable with their horses. Brilliant for inexperienced riders, as the horses are nice and calm. As an experienced horse rider, I appreciated the opportunity to go on a totally stress free ride! Highly recommended and I will be back.

Fantastic tour

Amazing experience, we didn’t have the best weather but it didn’t matter, we had a great day. The trail through the rainforest and out onto the beach is amazing, and we even saw a wild crocodile. Jerry was a great guide, clearly very comfortable on horseback and had a personal connection with all the horses in the group, and his knowledge of local flora and fauna was impressive. Highly recommend!

Absolutely beautiful! Probably best highlight of my trip! A beautiful walk through the rainforest to get to a beautiful beach where we stopped and the tour guides took photos for us to cherish! Would like to thank a million times over! Couldn't recommend enough 😊

Breathtaking horse ride

The horses are ex racehorses that are in retirement comfortably and so open and free that it made the start pleasant knowing that the horses are really taken care of and are so friendly and enjoyable to Ride. Carl our guide was awesome had depth of knowledge of area and horse's which made it so much more enjoyable we felt right at home with these people and the ride was breathtaking through the rainforest and through the beach in amazement while carl was very vocal explaining vegetation animals and just a great guided experience would highly recommend.

Must do in Cape!!!

This was so wonderful!! We just happened along this experience while in the Cape foe another activity and we are so very glad we did it! The ride was calm and relaxing, the horses are gorgeous and well look after and being free to roam 450acres after a life of racing is just so heart-warming. Gerry was a great guide, filled us in on information along the tour and took photos for us all. Riding the horses out of the Daintree and onto the beach truly felt like a once in a lifetime kinda moment. Definitely recommended!!!

Breath taking & amazing

As we stopped on the beach to take photos a 3.5m (I think he said) was casually just watching us even though we were crapping ourselves. But was absolutely amazing breath taking. I have an injury and they catered for that need when we got back so I could get off without any issue. Can’t recommend them enough

Amimal cruelty at its finest

Unfortunately my time at Cape tribulation horse rides were not enjoyable. As a massive animal lover it broke my heart to see these beautiful animals suffering in extreme heat on a daily basis. Being in saddles from 10.30 am till 4.30pm everyday in the extreme heat of cape tribulation. If anyone truly cared about these animals they would not be forced to do two rides daily , 6 days a week in such extreme heat. The poor horses had very bad cracked hooves , skin missing from the saddles rubbing , masses on some of their backs from where the saddle was rubbing ,bites and stratches and some horses were lame and clearly needed to be retired as they were old and had alot of trouble on the rides especially oscar.A business like this should not be allowed to run in the summer months of North Queensland. I also witnessed Jerry a very kind and good man who actually cares about the horses at that business get utterly abused verbally by Steve over something so irrelevant, apartenly this has been a on going thing for a long time . The staff deserve better and so do the horses . Everything in this review is all truth as God as my witness. Please don't support animal abuse .

Amazing !

We had a fabulous time on our horse ride ! The team was helpful, professional and fun. The horses were calm and friendly. It would be great if there was an early morning/sunrise ride so it was a little less hot but otherwise I can’t recommend this highly enough !

My partner and myself had an amazing time on our horse ride. The staff were super friendly and seemed genuinely interested in making convo, plus they made us feel safe. The horses also were well looked after which was something we really appreciated. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to do something different while on their holiday!

Amazing Horse riding experience

My sister and I had an amazing experience with the 2 tour guides, who were teaching us all about the wildlife and plants along our journey. The ride is a gentle and relaxing ride going along the bush and into the water. Why I loved this experience the most however is that the horses are so looked after and muched loved. And that they each have their own story. Thank you so much for the amazing experience.

Spectacular scenery, well behaved and looked after horses, knowledgeable guides/horse people. A perfect afternoon, couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. My non-horsey partner also loved it, will definitely be back to do it again.

Scenic horseride in Tropical QLD

Thanks for a beautiful and scenic ride through the rainforest, on the beach and through the Water! Also huge plus that you stopped and took pictures of us! Only thing is that as an experienced rider it was a little boring not having fastet paces, but i understand the securance issue.

Best Daintree and ocean tour with horses
