Captain was excellent

The captain was very helpful and we liked him a lot. We caught 10 fish and neither my wife or I are fishers AT ALL. Mostly just wanted to get on a boat on the water. We could have snorkeled and spear fished but we decided not to. Afterwards it was cool having them cook the fish right on the beach. Only annoying thing was where you get seated there are a lot of people trying to sell you stuff on the beach but that’s at most beaches in bali

Amazing experience at such a good value!

Everything was set up for us. They chartered a driver to pick up up from the other side of the state (Kuta Utara) and the fishing part was split into 2 boats (2 pax + 1 driver per boat). Absolutely incredible experience, my friends and I had such a good time. They even allowed us to snorkel and eat their cooked food (the fish that we caught + rice and other extras) within the package. Seriously, one of the most value deals we've taken on. If you take this package, please tip everyone a little! They worked so hard and deserve every dollar.

10/10 fishing experience in East Bali

We had a wonderful day exploring the east coast on Bali on this trip. The timeliness, support, expertise, friendliness… it was a 10/10 day and my family loved it! Wish I could share photos but also don’t want to ruin it. Worth it!

Wonderful fishing with young kids

Super fun. The family had a great time. The fishing is simple and fun for little kids, and there's plenty to eat afterwards. Virgin beach is one of the nicest on Bali and well worth the drive.

100% Recommend, me and my partner have never been fishing but we thought we’d give it a try and we loved it, the two guides were very patient with us and showed us all we needed to know about fishing. At the end of the trip the two guides cooked the fish we caught and they were the best fish we’ve ever had so fresh

Great tour, amazing people, breathtaking views

We booked this tour because my husband likes fishing. First of all, communication beforehand was good, we were contacted and given every detail. The driver, Ngurah, was on time and throughout the whole day by our side, a funny guy to be around - so probs to him for making the day unforgettable 🥰 on the way home we asked if he knew any local restaurants for suckling pig and he took us to one without tourists, we had great dinner together. The fishing was on a traditional boat, two guys were our instructors, were very kind and funny, took us to many spots for fishing. There was never a feeling of rushing or discomfort on our side. Afterwards some of the fish we caught were prepared for our lunch - probably the best fish we've had for a looong time! Afterwards we went snorkling, unfortunately my husband was surprised by a big wave and we lost his pair of goggles in the sea,but one of the instructors really went diving for them even though we offered to pay for the lost ones. All in all it was a great memory to take home. Definitely recommend!!

Excellent Fishing and Tasty Lunch

This was a 5 star fishing experience but I only gave it 4 stars because our driver was difficult to understand and not very attentive. We got to go out on a local fishing boat and our captain was great! We caught 23 fish, including red snapper, grouper, dracula fish, and many others! We snorkeled for a little while but there was not as much to see after snorkeling on Nusa Penida. They cooked the fish for us back on land and gave us lounge chairs to relax in by the beach while we waited for our lunch. If you like fishing, I highly recommend this trip!

Not at all what I was expecting

It was very unfortunate that I got sea sick and our fishing itself only lasted about 20min. We got back to the beach and I was told that I could go snorkelling from the beach myself. It turned out that there was no fish to look at. The fact that the current is very strong, I had to be constantly on alert as it was very deep and I was with my 9yo. I couldn’t relax, it was stressful. On top of that the waves are really big and strong and again because of the current, it was actually not so enjoyable. The beach is pretty though. The food. Well, the hygiene is doubtful. I ordered a juice and at the bottom of the glass I had a metal strip, probably from the scratching sponge. It put me off straight. The food itself was eatable but there were so many flies, it wasn’t pleasant. The fish we caught was grilled for us for the lunch on top of the plate we got. From the description of the activity, I was pretty sure we were also going to the salt village. But it turned out to be just fishing and snorkelling. The driver was very friendly and chatty. He told us facts about Bali which were very welcomed. Overall, a very expensive trip to the beach and I could not justify the price tag.

Great Experience

Our driver Arya was very informative and friendly. He provided us with a lot of information during our drive to Virgin Beach. The fishing experience was very cool. Both fisherman were friendly and helpful. Afterwards the fish was cooked deliciously. Overall great experience! I can only recommend!

Not good.

Not a good experience. Captain was not accommodating. Basically felt like we were tagging along on his fishing day. Caught 10 small fish and he kept the biggest ones. We did not go to salt field or coffee plantation. It was not very fun.

Great fishing trip

We had a great time on our trip. Arya the driver was very helpful and friendly. Wayan and Velon the fishermen were really good, they put us in the right spot to catch lots of fish. We did more snorkeling than spear fishing but it was still good. The staff on the beach barbecued the fish we caught. Overall a great trip, would recommend.

Private boat and great experience

My girlfriend and I had a great time. The sea was to rough to spearfish and I appreciated the level of caution that our guides operated with. We caught several fish species including red snapper and triggerfish. I thought for the price that it would not be a private experience but we had a private driver, guide, and fishing boat. I would highly recommend this tour

We were treated 5 star with towels, sunbed, amazing lunch and a lot of care :) We had to move the date of the experience and did not have any problem with it too. Beautiful scenery and fun fishing

I’d like to start with our tour guide Arya, he was unbelievably friendly and informative about Bali and places we pass. With this, we was positive and upbringing. The trip itself was an absolute blast, our boat driver was helpful and very knowledgeable about the best spots to fish at - we caught many beautiful fish which was very exciting. We were then taken back to shore and treated very well - our lunch + fish were cooked and we were given complimentary sunbeds next to the beach. I couldn’t be happier with the service. If you like relaxed fishing and sightseeing this is the trip for you.

Not what we were expecting

I wouldn’t say it was awful but compared to what we were expecting it was disappointing. The positives are that the team were accommodating in letting us start whatever time we wanted and also after my gf felt sick and we came back Felon (our guide) was accommodating in waiting for me and then taking me back into the beach for some spearfishing. Felon also worked hard and helped me with the speargun and cooked the food great. So overall he was great. Where this experience was let down was partly in the expectation from reading other reviews and also for safety. My gf can’t swim and she elected to do line fishing. They had no life jacket and when we asked they brought one that was unacceptable. Neither the captain or the guide spoke great english. There was no reassurance or explanation of what we were doing. Lots of miscommunication and lots of lack of communication. The captain (who arguably they did say was not the regular captain) was the one who was meant to help my gf fish but he just put the rod in the water and gave it to her, no communication or anything. Felon also left me spearfishing on my own quite often while he’d be in some far off area, which is a huge no no. Basically unless you are incredibly confident and experienced I would be very hesitant to go on this tour. They also lacked a good enough amount of the right equipment. Certainly not for unexperienced fishers.

Amazing day out full of enjoyment

What an amazing experience we had!!!! Caught a lot of fish! Then enjoyed a beautiful beach, water is crystal clear, very warm as well. While we were swimming, we had our fish cooked and I must say it was so tasty!!!! Thank you for the whole experience! We will be back!

Good fishing and good food after

Our driver, Arya and the fisherman, Velon were fantastic hosts! Arya wa very knowledgeable and happy to enducate us on Balinese culture. The fishermen were easy going and we're having fun fishing alongside us. We caught a bunch of smaller reef fish but they were more than enough fill us up. The fish were grilled Balinese style and served with shrimp, rice, veggies and delicious spicy sauces. You could even snorkel on this trip if you wanted. We opted out to focus on fishing plus we had another snorkel trip scheduled later. Could not say enough good things about this trip. Highly recommend!

Most amazing experience!

Our adventure started with our tour guide Anta who picked us up from our place and everything went smoothly, he was really nice and made our experience all that much more enjoyable! Once we arrived to virgin beach we got ready and went off by boat to the fishing spot where we caught many fish and after we went snorkeling. We saw so many fish and even saw a turtle! When we got done in the water the staff at the restaurant cooked our fish and we got to feast :) what an amazing experience and I recommend anyone to do it as well!

Beautiful escape

Our driver, Anta, was wonderful. He was friendly, answered all our trivia questions about Bali and things we saw on our drive to Virgin Beach. He even came back to the hotel with his family just to return my husband's hat which he dropped in the car. The boatman was really patient with us. He moved fishing spot every time we didn't get too many bites. He even had us try trawling since we didn't catch many fish. Despite that, we caught a variety of small fish that were so colorful. The beach was so pretty, with the cliffs and atolls. Catch the blowhole when you're out at sea, it's tiny but still fun to watch. We had so much fun dipping and jumping the waves too. Great trip.

Real gem!

Highly recommend this tour. We were looking for something outside of Kuta, so this tour fits the bill. Sumo was our guide and he was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about Bali culture and customs. Virgin Beach on east Bali (about 2 hours from Kuta) was a real gem and very beautiful. The boat ride for the fishing was an amazing experience. We were on a traditional Balinese catamaran. It was a great day with beautiful sun and green-blue waters. The two fishermen who accompanied us were very kind as well. We caught many fish and the restaurant was kind enough to clean and cook our biggest catch. We also stopped by a natural sea salt factory, which was also a pleasant experience. I recommend Sumo and the East Bali fishing tour.

Fantastic Trip!

Absolutely fantastic day out! Our tour guide was Arya who was absolutely brilliant, he was very informative, friendly & polite also his English was very good too so it was very easy to communicate with him. Virgin Beach itself is so stunning & tranquil, we chose to fish with rod & line and we ended up catching 15 fish which was excellent, the fisherman on the boat were also very friendly & polite and they were very good at what they do. I would highly recommend this trip.

Wonderful

This was a wonderful experience. Our guide, Sumo, was attentive, knowledgable, and a pleasure to spend time with. We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing time on the beach and fishing in the Ocean.

Totally worthy amazing trip!

One of my best trips in Bali! You’ll get spear fishing, line fishing, snorkling and sightseeing all at once. Not to mention that your lunch will be well cooked with the fishes you’ve caught! Our guide and driver is Arya, and he is truly amazing. He prepared cold water and towel, and he tried his best to help whenever we need. We dropped our phone into the water and within a minute he brought out a bag of rice for us, trying to see if the phone can be saved. Not to mention that he is also our translator when we were at the salt plantation. Velon and Jablay are the captains on the boat. They help and guide us through fishing (fishing has never been so easy!) and they taught my husband how to freedive and try spear fishing. A very satisfied trip and we both enjoy it very much !

Our driver was great and made sure we arrived safely! Our guide was super helpful and we caught a lot of fish. Plus the food for lunch was fantastic! Would highly recommend.

Fishing in Bali - A Must!

What a great experience! My husband loves to fish back home and was super excited to try fishing in Bali. Our driver, Arya, was incredibly kind, patient and helpful and he taught us so much about Bali on the drives. Our guide, Velon, was also incredible and took us to two great spots where we both managed to catch fish! The restaurant on the beach was also amazing and the food was delicious. It was pretty cool being able to eat our own catches!

Overall the experience was amazing, great fisherman such as velon and our driver Ayra was terrific and made our long journey very enjoyable the entire time, couldn’t recommend a better driver for this trip.

INCREDIBLE 🤩

This was AMAZING! 10/10 recommend this trip - it's a private fishing tour on a traditional fishing boat. We caught 30 fish in 4 hours, and then for to enjoy them freshly grilled on the beach. 1. Our driver, Antu, was one of the best drivers we have had! He answered all our questions about Bali culture and also pointed out many cool things on the side of the road and views like the volcano! We will be booking him again for other day trips we plan. He was so polite, friendly and had a great sense of humor 2. Our fishing guide on the boat was knowledgable, great help and great teacher while on the boat. He continually rebaited the lines for us, and we even went to 3-4 spots when the fish slowed down the bites. All up the three of us (me, husband and fishing guide) caught 30 fish! Amazing 3. The lunch on the beach was amazing, the beer was cold and the water was divine and warm to swim in All in all, most amazing fishing tour we have done and will 100% do it again when we visit Bali again. Do not hesitate to book - it's worth so much more than you pay!!!

Great Fun

Great day in beautiful surroundings. Our driver was Cepot, he’s brilliant. Good driver, knowledgeable about the areas we were driving thru. Wayun our fishing guide really knew the fishing grounds. Fishing in the real Bali. And finished off with a beautiful lunch of the fish we caught. We really enjoyed our day.

Awesome day on the water!

Can’t recommend this trip highly enough. Communication from the local operator was excellent, our driver was very good and made the trip interesting. Our boat skipper and guide were both great and made every effort to look after us and make sure my husband caught lots of fish. Back to the beach to the café who provided an awesome lunch and cooked up the fish we caught – delicious! My husband who is a keen fisherman was extremely happy with the experience – a great local activity, really good value for money too!

Excellent

An excellent trip from morning til evening. Such a nice boat crew on the local fishing boat helping with normal fishing and the spear fishing. All followed with a local game changer of a meal made with the fish we caught and speared enjoyed on the beach front with a great view of the local Bluewater bay. Thanks Soren.

Amazing day for anyone

As someone that’s not really into fishing it was a beautiful and fun experience! The line fishing was fun, mixed in some snorkeling for myself and to top it off the beach was absolutely gorgeous and very relaxing.

Fishing adventure

Had an awesome experience out with reting fishing and spear fishing caught a huge amount then went and cooked and ate them on coconut coals, was hot aswell but plenty of shade on boat and anta drove us around and provided alot of experience and great conversation, even stopping along the way and got me a selfie with a monkey could not recommend this trip more!!

Amazing authentic experience

I booked this trip for my husband and I and it was amazing and authentic experience with skilled Balinese fishermen. We learned a lot of new things, tried spearfishing and even regular fishing from the boat on open sea while having a nice conversation. We caught a lot of fish and one octopus which was later grilled for us at nearby warung and it was amazingly delicious!

Fun fishing trip

We had a great time on this tour with our driver Arya, who is super friendly and helpful. The day started promptly with us getting picked up from our hotel lobby. We are staying in the Nusa Dua area so the drive to Virgin beach is about 2 hours, which is somewhat on the long side, but certainly within reason. Virgin beach itself was definitely a nice little hidden cove of great scenery and vibe. We got started with fishing as soon as we arrived and our fishing guides were equally friendly. They showed us how to do bottom fishing and despite both of us being complete novices, we still caught 7 or 8 fish after about an hour! Afterwards we continued with spear fishing. It requires a little bit of free diving ability here compared to other places that I’ve done it before, where the water is much shallower. I was able to catch one fish, which was totally exhilarating. All of our catch was then brought to a restaurant right on the beach and grilled. Certainly some of the best fish I’ve ever had! Overall, definitely recommend the trip if you are looking at trying out line fishing or spear fishing in Bali!

What a great experience

Our Driver Arya picked us up at the Hostel and drove us nearly 2 hours to Virgin Beach. He is such a great and friendly person and told us so many interestings things about Bali. He was a really happy guy at all times and this made out Trip so great! Would definitely recommend having him as a driver! When we arrived at the Beach we did not have to wait for long Instructions and could Start right away, what was perfect! We could decide if we want to go bottom fishing or spear fishing, so we did both and caught several smaller fish. After the Trip we brought the fish to a local Restaurant at the Beach and they made it for us. The taste was just great! At the way back Arya showed us different interesting things, like traditional salt making or nice views over the sea. The whole Trip was totally worth it and we can fully recommend the Trip! Thanks to Arya aswell!

Very enjoyable day out

My partner and I had a beautiful experience. Our driver and guide for the day picked us up from our hotel room and we cannot rate Made our driver highly enough. His driving was extremely safe and he also was kind enough to supply us with bottled, cold drinking water. The water was a little choppy, but I felt comfortable enough to go out on the boat with my fishing guide. Although we did not catch any monster fish, we caught quite a few smaller fish that was beautifully grilled for us on the beach over coals. A lovely experience and I will definitely do it again next time I am in Bali.

Good experience.

Our driver was friendly and on time when he picked us up. The drive was very smooth with no hiccups. Virgin beach was truly a hidden gem and it wasn't packed with people. We were skeptical of the boat ride because there weren't any clear instructions on how we were to board or alight off the boat. There were also no life vests (we were only fishing). Eventually I did get bruised up when we were getting off the boat because we were suddenly told to jump off while waves crashed against us towards the beams of the boat. That was the only sour note to this trip. Back at the restaurant, they did barbecue our catch and made us a great meal. We spent a couple hours on the beach until we were ready to take off.

False advertising

Dissapointed, We specifically asked for the spear fishing which was the entire point of the trip. After we booked, I messeged to confirm once again that spear fishing was available, to which they replied that it was. Upon arriving and boarding the boat they hand us some rods and we start fishing. I ask about the spear fishing and the guide says that only he has a spear and that we couldn't use it, I explained that I triple checked with the agency that organized this, and he said that we still couldnt use it. Apart from that, they would take us to places later where there were people all the time coming up to ask us for us to buy from them, which we understood and were okay with it. But when we bought from them and told them we didn't want anything else they became angry and would keep coming up. At no point were we disrespectful with them, yet when we declined buying anything else they would become angry. I later found out that they were related to the fishermen that took us, and they had been told by our guide to come sell stuff to us. The place they took us to fish in, had very small fish and was nothing like the pictures. Finally the driver almost got into traffic accidents several times and would drive erratically. I come from a country where the driving isnt great and has similar traffic culture to Indonesia, but it was still dangerous driving even by those standards. Even wearing seatbelts we were thrown off of our seats a few times. The driver still requested a tip, despite us having paid a lot extra for the driving. we gave him a tip and he got annoyed that it wasnt the tip he expected. overall not a good experience and dissapointed with how this is advertised and priced. The beach and the landscape was very pretty and the fish that was cooked for us was made very well. Apart from that I didn't enjoy this trip.

Awesome Experience

What a great little adventure we had. Caught lots of fish, saw some beautiful sights, the tour guides and fishermen were very friendly and knowledgable. I would highly recommend this trip for those who like fishing and want to see a more calmer side to Bali.

Great fishing charter, delicious fish

We had such an amazing day, caught about 15 fish, 5 big ones and the rest smaller. We ate a snapper fish which our guide caught on the spear. It w a delicious, our driver Anta spoke amazing English and took us to some great stops along the way home. 10/10 would reccomend this fishing tour, it was great!

Amazing day, would definitely recommend

We had a wonderful day at magnificent Virgin Beach in East Bali. We caught 2 lobsters with our guide, very little tourists around. The water has amazing quality and this is not really a fishing trip, but more a full-day holiday experience as the nature around there is so beautiful.

Splendid day between fishes and white sand!!

What a day! Got picked up at our place and brought straight to the hidden Virgin Beach. There we enjoyed a lovely breakfast and went into the waters with one of the many local boats standing around. If you can hold your breath long enough be ready to spearfish on your own, if you can‘t you can watch the talented locals do so. Afterwards the fish got barbecued and a heavenly meal got served. Pretty day and worth the money, would join in again.

Excellent driver - fun day of fishing and snorkeling.

Our driver Arya was excellent. He was polite, attentive and very informative about the sights along the drive and Bali culture. We felt safe and well taken care of from pickup to drop off.

Great trip, value for money, our local guide Arya was great and safely navigated us through Bali traffic and accommodated to our needs would highly recommend to anyone who is new to fishing and want to see some hidden gems of Bali.

Relaxing day catching fish and enjoying the calm waters

A very long day but enjoyable. Went fishing and caught enough fish that they then cooked us for lunch. We then had a massage on the beach before being returned to our accommodation. A very lovely relaxed day.

Great day line fishing in traditional boat and eating fish we caught for lunch. Awesome location and views unfortunately no spearfishing as we planned for but still a great day.

Our driver Putra is very professional, punctual to pick us up every time, a lot of information along the way. And the location is also great, we got some fish and some really nice close encounters with sea turtles. The beach is very beautiful and clean, definitely enjoyed our day.
