Best Egyptian Tour Guide

Best Egyptian tour guide so far! 10/10 for Mohamed! He is knowledgeable and passionate about ancient Egyptian culture. Native to Alexandria but knows the city better than any locals. Definitely book with him if you are into the Egyptian history and culture.

Friendly Tour Guide in Egypt.

After going to Egypt on a private tour with Ramasside Tours, I would highly recommend them. I enjoy private tours because it’s more intimate, you can get to know your guide and driver. You can also leave a suitcase in the trunk. I’d like to recommend Ayob (our guide) and the driver. Although in Egypt you might see crowded cities that need some cleaning up, the people of Egypt make up for that with their kindness and willingness to teach you about the life there. You will be amazed when you arrive at the pyramid complex. You’re welcomed by many dogs that live on the premises and are tagged. There are peddlers around the area. But they are respectful and say “have a nice day” if you’re not interested in purchasing trinkets from them. Take your time at the pyramids, there is so much to see. There is a panoramic area that we drove to and hopped on the camels for some great pictures. Ayob brought us to a place to eat lunch that was a traditional style. We absolutely loved it! Then we also went to a beautiful bazaar for shopping and my husband and I both bought Cartouches. Our driver took us all the way back to Port Said at the end of our tour. My husband and I used AirTags. We kept one with us and one stayed on our ship to help the driver locate the exact location. Start your tour early because of the long drives. I hope this review helps others!

Amazing food tour in Alexandria

We had an amazing walking food tour in Alexandria with Mahmoud! He is so friendly & knowledgeable! He lives Alexandria & was born here. He knows the best places in Alexandria to get authentic Egyptian food. We (my husband, college aged daughter & myself) were looking for a dinner tour & it was great! Doing a walking dinner tour in downtown Alexandria was perfect! We didn't have to deal with traffic or parking & it was nice to walk between the various courses of food! I highly recommend Mahmoud! He Ramasside Tours were great from the beginning with messaging via Whats App, accommodating our time requested, being on time to meet us at our hotel & taking us to amazing food locations! Thank you, Mahmoud, for a fantastic introduction to Egyptian food!

Awesome time in Egypt

The guide, Amir, picked us up on time outside the port gates. Amir was friendly, knowledgeable and asked us questions to ensure we had a wonderful tour. Amir helped ensure we were safe at the pyramids and coordinated our camel and our horse drawn cart rides. Our lunch and boat ride on the Nile were awesome. We returned to our ship on time.

Great Guide

The best guide we ever had. Her English was perfect, and she could captivate us with her words. The city is very interesting itself. The only problem was a quality of our transport and that our driver didn’t speak any English ( he was very nice but still it’s a problem), and we couldn’t communicate with him without our guide.

We went to Alexandria and it was awesome. Everything went great from hotel pick up to drop off. Alexandria is very beautiful and i definitely recommend this one day trip.

El Alamein War Memorials

Excellent and Economical way to see the War Sites of El Alamein from Alexandria. Mohamed arrives on time to take you on this Somber Tour. He is very friendly and very knowledgeable of the History of El Alamein. You couldn’t see all the sights without a tour as they are spread out over many miles. If you are interested in seeing the War Sights of this area, I highly recommend this Tour! A +

Paid for a solo trip - ended up with other people NO REFUND GIVEN

If you are a solo traveller DO NOT BOOK THIS TRIP. I was charged for a solo VIP tour yet there were other people in the car and didn't get to see all that I paid for because they were on a budget. Further lunch was eaten in a HOT car on a busy street despite me stating I wanted local fish. I am extremely disappointed with both travel company and Tripadvisor refusing point blank to reimburse me the difference of what I would have paid 1/3 of a VIP tour which I thought was very responsible. Well and truly SCREWED OVER. Most unfortunate as the guide were very good

Great day trip to Alexandria

We had a great day trip to Alexandria from Cairo . Bishu our tour guide for the day was very well informed on Egyptian history and we were shown many sites including the old Coptic church , Citadel by Qait Bay , catacombs and the library . We also had food in a sea food restaurant by the sea . Thank you for a fun day !

I'm glad I took the tour

The guide gave a lot of background detail about Alexandria. He explained the old and the new. The problem with Egypt there is too much to see when you have fixed time. I broke up Egypt into sections and Alexandria is a big sight in the north. I'm glad I took time to see a major sight in the north.

A long trip to Alexandria

Pros: - Enthusiastic tour guide - Went to *most* of the spots in itinerary - Tour guide had some helpful things to say at each spot and gave us time to explore on our own Cons: - The trip took 14 hours in total (longer than advertised) - Lunch situation was shady. Tour guide insisted on paying and we had to pay him $20 flat in USD. Didn’t get to choose our meals. - Trip felt rushed and would’ve liked more background on places we visited. - Did not get to see the beach and most of the second half of the tour (aside from Qaitbay) could be skipped - Tour guide was dropped off before us - Max group size is 5 but we had 10 in our car

A long drive that is well worth it!

The city was amazing. Deserves to be stayed at for a full night or 2 to get the full Alexandria experience. Both; the driver Islam & the guide Nermeen were top-notch.

Delightful day

Hussain was amazing. Her explanation was amazing and the way she took care of all our needs! Lunch at fish market was delicious! The library,church visit was great. She took us to local sweet shop which was a nice experience!

Alexandria day trip

Ahmed the driver took good care of us. The drive from Cairo to Alexandria was super smooth. The tour guide Mrs Amina Adel received us in Alexandria. Covered all the places. Lunch at a very good veg restaurant Mohammed Ahmed restaurant. Amina was excellent with the history of all the places and was very patient in explaining all our queries. Highly recommend them for Alexandria tours.

Good visit

Our driver Tamer was a very good person and helpful. The overall visit was good. The guide was knowledgeable. But we did not go to St Mark church and El Nabi Daniel mosque as scheduled. We had take photo of Pompay pillar from the car only. For lunch, we had ‘foul’ which is usually served for breakfast. It was very good but for the price that we paid (USD220), we expected to have a more elaborated lunch. We overall liked our visit to Alexandria but we somehow felt we missed out on some things and did not get full value for our money.

Fabulous tour of Alexandria with Wessam!

We had an excellent time in Alexandria with Wessam! She led us through the history and streets of Alexandria -- from the catacombs to the Citadel, through Roman, Coptic and Muslim sites, and of course the Alexandria Library! And, oh my!, the seaside lunch was marvelous! We felt we were not only in the hands of an expert Egyptologist but also with a friend. She understood our interests and our needs perfectly. We highly recommend a tour with Wessam!! 💖

Recommended Alexandria Tour

Booked with Ramasside tours so last minute at 11pm just a few hours before the tour so we were worried it might not be good but turned out well! Only downside was we didn’t get to see the library (my husband and I didn’t know it is closed on Fridays). Amina was the best tour guide we had so far. We tried 3 other different tour guides/ companies so far in Cairo. This one in Alexandria was the best. Amina had good spoken English, very polite, helpful and very informative. The driver was so friendly and good as well. They were very flexible and Amina allowed us to modify the itinerary to our preference. They also dropped us off at a recommended lunch place and Amina helped us order food before leaving. Highly recommend a full day Alexandria tour!!

Amazing day trip in Alexandria

We enjoyed the day trip to Alexandria with Iman. She is really friendly and helpful and a really knowledgeable guide. She explained all the sites beautifully. We went to all the sites mentioned and additionally to the pompeis pillar as well. Also, took us for a great lunch next to the seaside and recommended some nice fish dish. Loved the trip and would love to do that again.

Fantastic, going the extra mile and beyond

After a couple of hours' ride from Cairo, we got to the catacombs of Alexandria where our tour guide Eman was waiting for us She took us around many places and even recommended us a better option to visit replacing one of the sites on the tour which is under renovation at the moment. For lunch, we had an option for a meal or grab a sandwich. We went with the later because we just wanted to see more. She grabbed us a local sandwich with beans and other vegs which was incredibly delicious (oh, and cheap as well!) She got us around places where normally is hard to visit, and kept the tour entertaining, filled with history, anecdotes and fun riddles to resolve Eman is very dedicated to her job, and I hope anybody who visits Alexandria gets a chance to meet with her

Well worth the trip

Our favorite part was the library and its museum. Alexandria as a City is well worth visiting as it is different to Cairo. There is a certain mediterreanian vibe. You can see a lot of the sights in one day. We were very satisfied with the trip.

Good

All places are awesome and these were valuable to go. However time was very limited and guide kept talking so long. It is very important thing as a guide, and she has a sense of responsibility and great knowledge. However I wanted to enjoy everything by my eyes and feeling more. She skipped some points that are nothing to explain. I wanted to take more photos and see exhibitions well. She made me hurry even though participant was only me. We might have been more flexible. Also there were no contact from agency till right before picking up. I asked agent to confirm my booking, however no reply. I slept with anxiety in the night of before tour. Alexandra is very nice and guide and driver is also awesome. So I hope they improve issues and make tourist happier.

Great day trip!

The katacombs are a must! 1 day in Alexandria felt like an enough time to oversee the main places and monuments. We did this after going to south egypt and learning about the Pharaonic era, we thought this was a great final chapter. Our guide, Amina, was great! We only left one thing for a next visit: dive to see the underwater monuments (but this needs a special certificate and some prep beforehand). I'd recommend you doing it if you have one 'free' day!

Wonderful tour of Alexandria with a great guide

This was a great experience. The tour included the many historical landmarks of the remarkable city of Alexandria, as well as modern sightseeing points along its mediterranean shore. The visit to the modern library/museum offers great insights about modern Egypt, while the mosques, churches and roman ruins offer interesting views and knowledge about the more remote history. The guide Eman was very kind and helpful, and described the historical details of each location in a very clear and complete manner. Definitely a must see for those staying near Cairo.

Alexandria tour

This is definately a must do tour in alexandria. We were take. By our host Eman and her driver Hani to cover all the major attractions of this beautiful city. Eman is very knowledgable and will also give her time explaning the history. We stopped at numerous photo locations also. Overall it was a fabulous experience

Good guide, interesting sites

Eman was a great guide. The catacombs, Roman Theater, and library are worth seeing. It is worth going into the area around Pompey's pillar. There is basically no way to realistically see all of these things in one day without a tour.

Great experience in Egypt with Ramses' Tours

I spent a lot of time researching to find the perfect tour in Egypt from our cruise and definitely found it with Ramses Tours. they were very responsive and easy to work with via email. When we arrived, Eriny, our guide, greeted us with a wonderful smile, and Abdul, our driver, was an expert at the crazy traffic in Alexandria. We had an extensive tour of the sites of Alexandria over the afternoon and learned so much about the area. Eriny really knows her history and loves her country. We also booked the full day the next day with them for the pyramids and Egyptian museum, which was wonderful as well. They took us to great photo stops at the pyramids, and she really knew everything about the museum and we had a great lunch on the Nile River. Highly recommend Ramses tours and Eriny as guide.

Bonus City Tour of Alexandria

We had a great tour of Alexandria with Miss Eriny. Part of our Egypt vacation schedule changed, leaving our last day free. We decided to make a day trip to Alexandria and we’re so glad we did. Our trip planner Miss Nada was very helpful with adding on the last minute bonus city. Eriny took us to all the great sites. Our favorites were the Catacombs, and the Citadel. The fresh seafood lunch was delicious and the ocean views were incredible. Alexandria has such a different feel compared to any of the other Egyptian cities we visited.

Many Fascinations in Alexandria

The views by the sea were great and Eriny was knowledgeable on everything we did! As expected, each event or attraction was to be picked up by those going in.

Day Trip to Alexandria from Cairo/Giza

Eriny was a wonderful guide. She was very knowledgeable and offered so much insight into the past and present about Alexandria. Eriny made sure to give plenty of time for questions, as well as pictures. The tour was better than I could have imagined. Quick adventures of Alexandria

We went to visit Alexandria on our last day In Cairo. Our tour guide Amina made us feel welcomed and guided us as we’ve been good friends visiting the city for the first time. Her knowledge of the city made the tour exciting while making sure we were ahead of the crowds in the city. She took care of us and kept vendors away which is a plus in my book. I would recommend doing the tour if you have a bit of time.

The trip would of been better without the guide

Our driver was maybe the best part of the trip, our actual guide was horrible. From the beginning all she did was try and cancel parts of our adventure and later we found out she did not even bring us to all of the places that we were supposed to visit, she didn't talk to us or explain anything about where we were going and seemed to be upset the whole time

Fun Day

We had Mohammed as our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable, easy going and fun to be around. He took us to all the sights we requested and even treated us to some classic Koshary. I would not hesitate to recommend Mohammed to a friend visiting Alexandria!

Fun excursion day

Karim was our guide and very informative. We stopped to learn about the historical sites and he recommended the perfect restaurant for after our tour (not included). The transportation to and from Cairo was also very helpful. The driver was also great and stopped at a rest area for us on the way there and back.

Worth it

If you can afford an extra day in Egypt I'd recommend visiting Alexandria via this tour. The driver and tour guide were punctual and everything felt well scheduled and arranged. We managed to visit all places in our itinerary and I had extra time for e.g. taking photos or just being on my own. My tour guide (Irina) was knowledgeable and polite. And more importantly, the tour is private as advertised.

Very professionall people! Value for money!

Alexandria Day Tour From Cairo First of all, many thanks to Ali, Rokaia, Salma, Irini (tour guide in Alexandria) and our driver! You were wonderful, very professional and helpful! We started the day at about 8 am when they came and picked us up from our hotel and went to Alexandria, with a short stop on the way at Starbucks on the highway! We met Irini in Alexandria who took us to every spot we had in the description of the tour from Ramses and others, explained history behind (by the way she studied tourism), using very good English! We stopped for a quick lunch at a fish restaurant near the citadel and after we went back to our hotel in Cairo. Alexandria is a much modern city than Cairo, with a corniche that goes 30 km, where you can take a walk, see the sea, the gardens of montaza that are superb and the library from Alexandria, which is WOW! Defintely recommend this tour if you have the time. Last but not least, i need to expalin why these guys are the best: we had a little incident when we left the car, we dropped the wallet and glasses under the seat and forgot about it. We just figured that we don’t have these after 3 hours. So we called the traffic manager Rokaia to give me the contact details of the driver. It was almost 9 pm. She got in touch with the driver who found our belongings and along with Ali, brought them to our hotel in 3 hours. There was NOTHING MISSING. I’m glad that we found the people! They are very professional and stay in contact with you all the time, in order for the tourist to feel safe! Good job!!!!

Long day of travel made easy!

These guys are courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and wonderful! The sites were great and organized in an awesome way. Lunch was amazing! The whole trip was very relaxing -I even slept the entire car ride back. Alexandria was so awesome and full of history, I wished I had done more research. We would’ve stayed there for a day or 2 by itself. Great trip and I would recommend it to anyone.

Amazing experience from start to finish

Great tour of Alexandria with Karim. He was informative, engaging and had some good insight into local knowledge, especially about dodging the traffic!
