They were kind and appropriately protective and really made sure I had a good time, which is very important for a solo female traveler. They even assisted in haggling and kept me hydrated all day. Market tour

The experience and knowledge base of Kareem was great. The papyrus and cotton and perfume we could skip as it seems to be on every tour. The market at Khan el-Khalili was interesting but we could do this on our own. The history of the area was fascinating

Hesham did a great job coordinating with our guide. Our tour guide Bishoo was also great, friendly, knowledgeable and shared many great facts! The tour itself is very good, covers cool things and the market is very big! We also got to try Egypt's national dish Koshari, highly recommend this tour!

Excellent

We had a lovely day today with guide Ehab and driver Refat. The trip first takes you to a couple of shops in a different part of Cairo (spices and jewellery) we had already been to see the cotton, the perfume and the oils before so we were taken to the ones we had not seen before which was great. We then spent a lot of timing walking through the markets and Ehab was very relaxed on what we wanted to do, we told him what we wanted to buy and he took us there. We felt very safe and wanted to go to the markets with someone who could show us the markets and help us buy specific things. This is not a trip where you can really wander through the markets with a guide it is more specific to showing you the sites and the markets.

Concierge Egyptian shopping experience

Kareem was our guide and Hassan was our driver. Kareem was a knowledgeable, friendly, and sociable Egyptologist who provided us with a very nice concierge style shopping experience. We enjoyed learning how papyrus was made, seeing our cartouche charms be personalized, selecting personal fragrances, and spice options all before heading to the famous market. Kareem highlighted important aspects of Egypt, its history, and cultural elements while pointing out parts of the city throughout. The added guidance and protection in the market was appreciated. The private Feluca trip rounded a day filled with memories we will cherish.

Kareem Is The Best

This was an excellent trip. Kareem, our guide, was very fun and personable while also being very knowledgeable about all the sites. He made it very comfortable and enjoyable, and protected us at all our stops. I would highly recommend him!

Good experience of the market

Well planned by the guide who allowed plenty of time to shop safely with no hassle. Busy over Ramadan but felt safe with guide. Wouldn’t recommend doing this alone.

Lovely day in the markets

Lovely day with Ehab and team. Had a good day working through the perfume, Egyptian cotton and spice markets. Followed by a visit to the Bazaar and a boat trip. It was a really good relaxed day. Ehab and team were superb!!

Shopping in Khan el khalili

Our tour started at 4:30. Bisho messaged to confirm pick up. He gave us an amazing experience. We went to a cotton shop, gold & silver shop and an oil and spice shop. Bisho ensured that we were not harassed in any way and we felt safe and looked after. The market was not for the faint hearted and was extremely busy. We felt safe with Bisho. We did not experience any harassment. You would never want to do this alone without a guide. We got to experience what Cairo is like for many in Ramadan. Our driver Raffat took good care of us and his driving was safe, and was always there waiting to pick us up. His car was clean and had AC. Good trip for a couple of hours in the late afternoon/evening. 😊

Disappointed this time.

We told our guide was soon as we were picked up we wanted to enjoy the sights, smells, and culture of the market and we weren't interested in buying anything accept spices and finding a tailor for a blouse my wife wanted made of cotton. Instead, we were taken to a papyrus demo, gold shop and perfume demo. We only spent 10-15 minutes in the actual market and then the guide took us for the food. I was unable to eat the koshary dish he showed us (due to an issue with my throat) and the guide said $10/pp to upgrade to something I could eat...that was 2 fish tacos/pp, which were good, but not worth the fee. We felt totally taken advantage of! The guide was knowledgeable, but he did NOT listen to our wishes at all. Then the guide was pushy to get a TripAdvisor review posted by me before we left dinner. I could not review honestly as he was watching everything I typed and I feared we might not be returned to our hotel if I said something negative. This was a very disappointing afternoon/evening in Cairo. We chose this tour to have a private tour and do what WE wanted instead of joining the group from our river cruise. It seems a refund would be the gesture to make this disappointing tour right.

Sad aggressive taxi owner

The taxi firm owner Hisham was very aggressive in his attitude and told me despite booking the tour, a guide was not included. As with other customers we were taken to a pypirus museum to see how this was made. I then asked the driver to take us to the souq. The driver was fine but we finished the tour in less than 2 hours. Sadly this is how these tours work; we take you where we want to go, not what you have booked. I had the unfortunate situation where I had been basically harassed by this Hisham character and would definitely not recommend booking without th him via Viator

Great bazaar and felucca tour!

We had a wonderful time with Kareem on this tour. He was very knowledgeable and took his time ensuring we had sufficient time to check things off our to do list. We had a mishap with a lost phone and Kareem was very diligent in getting it back - we were very grateful. Highly recommend!

Our special day

We went to the Khalili Market with Karim. He was a real lifesaver because we did not know our way around. He was able to take us right to the stores to buy what we wanted and assist with negotiating. We were very pleased with our purchases. He had a lot of patience and was very cheerful. He made our last day special!

We had a great day at kham El Khalil with Karim as our tour guide.. we have seen alot of stuff and it was an action packed jam day and we felt safe on our private tour ....we felt safe and it was very hospitable here and enjoyed the local Egyptian culture.....

Such an informative and interesting tour of the oldest Egyptian market. Karim was wonderful! We learned so much about the process of perfumes and the history of buildings in the market.

We had a fantastic day tour and shopping in old Cairo and market . Heba was our guide . It is was pleasure to be guided by heba . The market not only for souvenirs but also for Islamic Cairo and nice photos . You can try Egyptian tea . Would definitely recommend

Cousin Kareem showed me around some awesome tourism blends local places, authentic papyrus handmade processing shop - awesome to learn about the process and see it on the go, and many other places. Picked me up from the hotel, dropped me back. Also he explained good deal from Egyptian history, geography and politics. It was enjoyable afternoon. PS: thank you for the complimentary snacks on the way back.

Great shopping day, also because of our Guide Doaa!

The shopping trip was perfect, thanks to our guide Doaa and the great driver. We saw a lot of special stores with Quality merchandise and not to pushy sales people. We felt really comfortable and the hospitallity was great. The visit tot the Khan El Khalili market was very nice because of the advice of our guide. In the end she hleped us als get a good deal at one of the shops. Were were a bit worried about the pushy sales people, but when you have your ons guids like we had this is much less.

Save your money. Visit the Market with a driver, no guide needed.

The Bazaar itself is charming, one can easily navigate it without a guide. Most of the operators will haggle, EGP better than USD. We arrived around 11am, which was quieter (for kids 6 and 9 this is best) and shops were slowly opening. Our guide gave us some information enroute which was interesting. When at the market she asked us if we wanted her to stay with us or wait somewhere. We opted for her to stay but she disappeared anyway. We didn't buy from any of her recommended stores so she was not too happy- I presume she gets kickbacks. We tried calling her but she was unavailable for over 30mins. The kids were hungry and thirsty and tired. Eventually the tour operator contacted her. Lunch was acceptable and tasty koshary dish with pasta, lentils, rice and sauce ( tomato for kids and hot sauce for adults if desired). We ate this enroute to the airport as the guide said time was too short - a very different tune when at the beginning we had "lots of time." In truth she cut our entire tour short, which we accepted, 1 to 2 hours is perfect. She decided to stop giving info on passing sights as we were not interested in perfumes or papyrus purchasing. Our tour operator was very difficult to deal with, quite rude, perhaps a language barrier, he charged us extra for hotel pick up and airport tranfer which we accepted but had hoped we would get a rebate since tour was cut short, not necessarily by our own choice in the end. He pushed us to get a guide. She was okay, but not being available on WhatsApp or phone for over 30 mins was unacceptable. We only saw the market. Recommend you get a driver and visit the market on your own. Not worth the money and the trouble of having to chase around for the guide, who didn't add any value.

First look at Cairo

Kareem was great! Very knowledgeable, great sense of humour and fluent English. He accommodated our requests in every way. Our driver 'vin diesel' was always in the right place at the right time and negotiated the Cairo traffic with panache. Overall a great experience and a wonderful introduction to Cairo. Highly recommend this team....

Informative and fun

The tour was really interesting. We had time to kill so hit the standard perfume store, papyrus factory, linen shop, spice shop before heading to the bazaar. Walked around Khan ek Khalili with guide Marsil and enjoyed conversation. Driver Moaz was also very competent and congenial. Although I’ve spent a lot of time in Egypt, I discovered the best falafel place in the bazaar so that by itself was worth the price
