Gold Class VIP Great Barrier Reef Cruise from Cairns by Luxury Superyacht

Perfect day!

The VIP experience included hotel pick-up and they were on time to get us. At the pier we were greeted by very nice staff. The boat ride was perfect and snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef is a must. Recommend 100%.

Too average for the price

The boat went out and sped through very choppy water. I take motion sickness meds and even doubled down on them prior to the rode but was sick the entire time. I went on 2 other boat rides this trip and never got sick. The snorkeling was probably the worst we have done. There are just so many people and everyone is just in each other's way. You aren't even told which direction to swim or look. We were supposed to have a guide with this package but she said the water was too choppy and it wouldn't be worth a personal guided tour. The guide was very nice and knowledgeable but mostly gave info at the beginning and then was gone the ret of the time. I wouldn't go on this tour again. Too many people and no one directing people to the right spots to snorkel. The private room also smells pretty bad, like stale and moldy.

Great day trip

Had a great time underwater on this trip. Kiki and Ruth were great navigators underwater and Sammi was an excellent host in the cabin. Food was good and the marine life were out in full force.

Amazing!

Had an incredible time on the boat in this tucked away room. We got to start snorkeling first and saw a huge wrasse, turtle and octopus. Both snorkel sites were incredible. Sammi and Rach were fantastic! Highly recommend this tour!

Lifetime Memory, well worth Gold ClaSS

This was truly amazing and lived up to every 5 star review that we read. FIrst the GBR, it must be seen. To see it with your own prvate marine biologist for the first 30 minutes.makes it so understandable I am not a swimmer and Sammy made me so comfortable that I really enjoyed it. It is all first class, the best If you can swing it, Gold Class is the way to go.

Great Day onboard Evolution in the gold cabin

This was a very enjoyable trip right from the start at check in when Eddy picked us up and took us on board. We had the gold cabin to ourselves which made the experience even more special for me and my wife. We were very impressed with the attention to detail over everything relating to safety. Our briefing was given by Nick our personal host and marine biologist. He was very knowledgeable and made the trip very easy. I would recommend this VIP trip if you’re considering going to the reef and if you make it to Cairns why wouldn’t you do it.

Absolutely amazing

I booked this trip for my daughter and I. I would definitely recommend not only this tour with this company but also the Gold Class option. What a difference it made to be able to retreat to our own private air conditioned cabin. Included was a well stocked mini bar with soft drinks, chocolates and chips, cakes , tea and coffee. The personalised attention was also amazing. We were greeted by Nic, the Marine biologist, and were able to bypass the queue for check in. We were given a personalised introduction of what the day included and later had a private snorkel tour with Nic outside of the area the other passengers were swimming. We paid additional for an introductory dive which I would recommend. The pre dive information and instruction was given by Phil, who is also amazing. I don’t think you could find a more professional and accommodating team and there safety measures seem impeccable. It goes without saying that experiencing the Great Barrier Reef is a must for anyone… breathtakingly beautiful. I would recommend this tour and would definitely book the Gold Class option again.

Awesome way to see the reef!

Had an amazing time on this tour! We were treated so well, from a timely pick up to being greeted at the dock and a lovely private cabin! Everyone was so nice and of course, the reef was absolutely stunning!

Only Way to Go

Awesome trip. Evolution is big, fast and comfortable, the only way to go, when going to the reef. She gets you out there quickly, more time to dive. The staff where amazing and the VIP lounge is the only way to go. We highly recommend this adventure.

VIP tour Great Barrier Reef

We very much enjoyed our VIP experience. Eddie and Sammy (our host) were lovely and made us feel very special. The private room was lovely and had everything we needed - the weather was very windy and overcast so it was very nice to have a private space. All the staff were lovely and really helpful.

Amazing experience on the reef

We had a wonderful experience with the gold class lounge snorkel experience. Sammy was a great host, who shared interesting information about the reef and marine life and took good care of us. Amazing on of a kind experience!!!

Shout out to Eddie and Sammy. Both made us feel like VIP. They took care of us the whole trip. Even making sure we didn’t get lost out see :). Captain Nick was very cool and did a great job!

Great Exerience

When we booked this tour we thought from the photos that it was a private yacht that took only 8 passengers. It was misleading that way. As it turned out, it was a private VIP lounge on a catamaran that can accommodate about 130 passengers. But we got great treatment as the "VIP" passengers, including a private briefing from the marine biologist and a cabin attendant who constantly made sure we had everything we wanted. For the dive and snorkel experiences we were part of the larger group. The instructors were excellent, as was the marine biologist who took us on the snorkeling part. I would definitely recommend this tour operator, but it would be nice to know what you are booking if you book the Gold Class VIP trip. If you can afford the extra, I would go with that. It would be especially nice if you had your own small group of 8 or less in the VIP lounge with you.

The absolute best snorkel tour!

From the moment we were picked up to the time we were dropped off this tour was VIP all the way. Nicholas was the best naturalist and he made sure that everything we wanted or needed was provided. The air conditioned VIP suite was stocked with drinks and snacks (and sea sickness pills if needed), and was incredibly comfortable. We had personalized emergency procedure briefings and again Nick made sure we had fins, masks and suits ready when it was time to snorkel. He also took us on a private snorkel tour where we saw a tawny nurse shark and giant clams, as well as the incredible number of beautiful fish on the Great Barrier Reef. This was by far the best snorkel tour we’ve ever had. Thanks for a great day!

Made an amazing honeymoon!

Came to Australia from the US for our honeymoon. I wanted to make the trip extra special for my wife who loves animals and snorkeling so I splurged on the gold class for more time with the marine biologist. (It does come with many other benefits). The room was clean could probably sit at least 6 and was well stocked with beverages. But the best part was Sammy the biologist who talked to us then took us on a tour of the reef. Shay was our purser and made sure we were well hydrated and fed - she was amazing. Eddie from customer service got us right on the boat with no hassles. I really felt it was a good value for the extra charge. Great snorkeling at 2 sites! Very comfortable cabin. And an amazing crew deserving of praise!

Great way to dive the teef

This was a wonderful way to do a Great Barrier Dive Cruise. Sammy was our hostess and guided us throughout the day. Phil, the Captain did a wonderful job. We opted for a semi submersible tour at one reef. Phil got us close to the coral and Sammy gave insightful information both on the semisubmersible and a guided snorkel tour ( both included with the Gold Service) Lunch was great. Large selection. Drinks included! Great day all around.

VIP Gold Class Tour, highly recommend!

My partner had a great time in Goldclass! Highly recommend if you want to see the great barrier reef and have your own private room to relax in. We got our own mini fridge with drinks, alcohol from the bar, mini cupcakes, cheesecake and cheese with crackers on the way back as well as the main lunch for the day which included prawns, fish and salads. We visited 2 reef locations which were both really cool. All the staff were very friendly, thank you Imogen our marine biologist tour guide and all the staff for looking after us, it was super fun! :)

I never thought in a million years my husband would get in the middle of the ocean and do snorkelling but he did and love every bit of it thank you for a fantastic day

Gold class travel to the reef on the Evolution

We had the most amazing day today with the crew on the Evolution Boat. The staff the food all fantastic. Communication was excellent. We paid the extra and had the gold class experience which meant we had our own cabin complete with tea and coffee plus a fridge with an array of soft drinks. It was just my husband and I so we appreciated having space but we also spent plenty of time on deck as the trip is so relaxing. We would thoroughly recommend this trip.

A wonderful day on the reef in the Gold Class

We booked the Gold Class option, it was the highlight of our stay in Cairns. If you want to spoil someone or yourself, this is a must. You get priority checkin, no waiting in the queue. We had a lovey comfy suite, and looked after by Indie all day, she was the host with the most, and she took us out on a private reef tour. Indie showed us where all the best areas to snorkel and commentary on the types of coral and fish. The boat is new, modern and fast, a great day out, highly recommend this tour.

Gold Class Experience

Two of us joined the Gold Class Private Lounge smirking trip with Down Under Cruise and Dive and truly enjoyed the privacy with the own private room OB board. You will get priority checked in, skipping the queue. We were greeted by Eddie, and he is really a nice and chatty guy. He also constantly check on us on board to make sure everything was okay 👍. We also had a dedicated concierge service and Sammy was also great in taking care of us on board. The vessel is big and new and their staffs were cheerful and friendly. We visited 2 sites - 1st was Saxon Reef and 2nd was Hastings Reef. The first snorkeling site was less impressive but we managed to see two sea turtles here. The second snorkeling site was much prettier with lots of colourful and huge reefs. Also saw a giant clam here. Overall we enjoyed our trip with Down Under Cruise and Dive and would recommend visitors to use them.

Diving Dream

This is an amazing crew. They really took great care of us, making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves all day. From marine biologists, photographers to diving experts- we made the best memories.

Gold Class par-excellence

We booked the Gold Class option, and it was fantastic. Starting with a pick-up from our accommodation through the personal welcome at the quayside, to the individual greeting on-board, nothing was too much trouble. The "Gold Class" room was very comfortable (and private) and every member of the crew clearly had been advised of our status for the trip as we were acknowledged at every turn. We had our own Marine Biologist (Sammy) who was our main point of contact and was extremely knowledgeable. She provided a brilliant snorkelling commentary on the reef and was particularly helpful in catering specifically for one elderly member of our group. The buffet was more than adequate and whilst the cheese platter on the return to port wasn't available (it is advertised on the website) the offer of a practically bottomless bar was more than an adequate alternative. Definitely well worth what we paid.

Snorkeling at the reef

This was a great experience. First time going to the reef. It is just a wonderful place with a fantastic and friendly team. I did some snorkeling the coral, fishes and environment is absolutely breathtaking. At lunch time we had a variety of dishes, you can also get vegetarian, vegan, dairy free and gluten free meals. That was a lovely day at the reef. I recommend it.

A fabulous day on the Reef

Having our own 'room' to change and relax in was lovely, particularly as it was a windy day out on the water. The staff were fabulous, in particular, Eddie was extremely welcoming and constantly checking with us to ensure we were okay. Layla was lovely and helpful as were all the staff, but a special shout out to Phil the marine biologist who took us on a private snorkel and showed us fish and coral that we would never have seen had we snorkelled alone and he shared so many interesting facts about regenerating the coral and helping preserve our beautiful Barrier Reef!! He also delivered a delicious afternoon cheesecake on our return to Cairns :) It was a great day and highly recommended.

Overrated for the money but still a good experience

Absolute MUST do!! + heli

My mum and I did the Great Barrier Reef gold class tour and returned home to Cairns by helicopter. It was the BEST day and couldn’t fault it in any way. Highly recommend! Everything was so organised for us, and the boat was really beautiful. All of the staff were amazing and so friendly! Definitely have to do a special call out to Amber who was exceptional! Thank you everyone for the most memorable day, I honestly just want to do it all over again!

Fabulous day at the reef from cairns

From booking to disembarking 5 star service The tour is worth every penny and if you can extend to take the helicopter it is worth the extra money. We liked the submersive boat experience. We loved the gold class was worth every penny. Special out to Andy the marine biologist. And Brayden and captain Phil!! And all the crew and service centre staff! Very very impressed!!

A unique way to see the Reef

This was an amazing way to see the reef. Having your own cabin was a nice luxury, having your own Marine Biologist to take you on a snorkelling tour and talk with was priceless. Our guide Ali was super knowledgeable and passionate about the reef it really shone through. We visited 2 different reefs during the day North Hastings and Saxon Reefs and whilst geographically very close they are very different in terms of structures and marine life.

Absolutely amazing!

Had an amazing Gold Clss cruise experience. The crew was awesome and the spots they took us to for snorkelling were some of the best reefs we’ve seen. The staff loaded us with ample snacks food, tea coffee and drinks through the trip and the overall experience from start to finish was first class! Thank you guys!

What a wonderful treat. We had the lovely Emily look after us and she was amazing. Emily took us on a little snorkel tour pointed out all the beautiful coral, fish and we also saw a turtle. The service and hospitality by all the staff was fantastic. It was a fabulous way to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.

Experience of a lifetime, must do

Amazing experience, staff are on the ball and very friendly, helpful and supportive. The boat is amazing, even with 120 people Cruising and 20+ staff feel very spacious and well organised.

Amazing Experience

It was a memorable trip and an exciting adventure. We truly enjoyed the private Top Deck VIP experience. When we arrived at the reef, we had an attentive diving instructor taking us on our introductory scuba dive, We had an amazing experience and got some awesome photos. Snorkeling around the boat was easy and special with an abundance of fish and beautiful corals. We stopped at two snorkelling /scuba diving sights, both could accommodate beginners and advance divers. We learned a quite few interesting facts about The Great Barrier Reef. Over all it was one of the best experiences we’ve had. Thank you for making our trip special and unforgettable!

Great day out

Had a fantastic day out on Evolution. The staff were excellent. We did 2 intro dives with great visability and felt very safe. Great Boat and the helicopter ride back was fantastic

Perfect trip

As Gold Class guests, we were given excellent and extra care from the moment we arrived. The lounge was perfect, there were drinks, coffee and snacks. Sammy is super nice. She showed us around and answered all of our questions patiently. She also went snorkeling with us, and we felt very safe. It was unique despite the bad weather. The lunch was very tasty. I can only recommend this trip. The extra cost for Gold Class was definitely worth it.
