Brilliant tour

Steve took us to see some brilliant places, all of which had high 'wow' ratings. We were a small group and we had a great day. Highly recommended.

Paronella Park was just...

Paronella Park was just ok. You could see how back in the day that it was a happening place. It had rained a lot the day before and there was flooding at the park. Milliaa Millaa Falls were beautiful. This excursion was our second choice since our first choice got canceled.

I was really excited trip...

Waterfall & Park

We really enjoyed our day out. Steve our guide was funny, friendly & helpful. Our stop at Lake barrine was nice with tea & scones. I got to swim in millaa millaa falls , even though it was a quick swim it was refreshing. Paronella Park was beautiful, the architecture & grounds are stunning

Family holiday to Cairns 2024

Family holiday to Cairn 2024 Our family holiday to Cairns was a great experience . We booked the Waterfall rainforest Paronella park with Northern experience eco tour. The trip was amazing experienced with the great coach Steve. Our tour group were very happy with Steve and we learnt a lot about the places we visited. Thanks again Steve for making our trip so wonderful!

Definitely Recommend!

We really enjoyed this tour! The drive was a little longer due to cyclone road closures, but we really didn’t notice too much. The scones and coffee in the morning were great. All the stops were beautiful. Jim was an amazing guide and so funny! Really enjoyed our day. Thank you Jim!

A memorable day

The tour was personalised and the best option post the floods. A special mention about the tourist guide Steve who was very knowledgeable about different cultures & made a special effort to ensure everyone’s comfort.

Great tour worth doing small group size

In general everything was great and had good time. All the locations were good and the tour guide was nice as well

Great sites but rude guide

Really enjoyed the sites on this tour. Our guide Steve was very knowledgeable but unfortunately quite rude and very prickly in his attitude which was a shame.

Great tour

Steve was a good guide and took us to some extra stops and even stopped so we could all get some lychees from a farm. The views were great and the tour was very informative. Morning tea+lunch was good-tasting and I met some cows.

Great Tour

It was a relatively small group, which I appreciated. This tour is also suitable for the elderly and there isn't much walking involved (if you don't wish to walk) - we had a couple of elderly in our group (including my mother). We first had morning tea at Lake Barrine, and thereafter went to see the curtain fig tree, and millaa millaa falls, where a few on our tour went for a dip. There was a guided tour at Paronella Park and some free time to roam around. The last stop was Babinda Boulders (would recommend doing the short trail to Devil's Pool). I can't remember our guide's name, I think it was Jim? He was very energetic and enthusiastic, and was very determined to find us some platypus! We had an enjoyable day.

Best experience Cairns has to offer !!!

I have never done tours of any sort, however, this tour was absolutely AMAZING !!!! I was coming over to cairns for a holiday and I didn't really know what this tour was about, I just wanted to go sightseeing but this was way better than I would've ever expected. The tour guide we had was amazing, he was really informative, charismatic and all around great to listen to. He went above and beyond for us, as we went to the wrong pick-up location, he spent the next 15mins driving to find us. He was really nice and patient about it ! Our first stop was so beautiful, we had tea/coffee with the best scones you will ever eat. The scones were so soft and warm (best I've ever eaten), with a view that just took your breath away. He gave us time at each location to look around and really take in the scenery, did not rush us at all. My favourite was the waterfall stop, he told us about the different walks you could do and that you can go for a swim. It was the most beautiful site I had ever seen, we saw turtles and lizards, the water was refreshing and the view was beautiful. After we went to locally owned restaurant, that served us mushroom pasta and steak/lamb pie on a farm. The view was amazing and the food was delicious. The last stop was paronella park, the story behind it was great to hear and a must-see in cairns. Overall, this tour was the best part of my trip !!! I loved it and I am so happy that I booked this for my trip. If you have any doubts, please take it from me and JUST BOOK IT.

Great day trip out.

The tour bus was a good size so not too many people. The bus driver was helpful and knowledgeable giving some good info on various places. Also the seats were very comfortable while traveling in the bus.

ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING!

Jim our tour guide was full of knowledge, very nice and wasn't afraid of a few golden dad jokes. We are on our honeymoon and so happy we went on this tour, we saw and learned about so many amazing places. Morning tea was lovely and our lunch was fantastic. Definitely highly recommended. Thanks Jim for a great experience, we will cherish this day for a long time.

This tour is one not to be missed

This was one of the best tours I have been on. Amazing sights especially Paronella park. Steve was an awsome guide.

Enjoyable tour featuring beautiful and unique places.

It was a well-organised tour, and we saw many beautiful and unique places. Millaa Millaa Falls was spectacular, and Paronella Park was an interesting place to explore. We even saw a platypus and a cassowary! The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. However, the day was spoiled by allowing people to drink alcohol throughout the tour. By the end of the day, there were a number of drunk people who were loud and rowdy, which ruined the last couple of hours of the tour for the rest of us. There were teenagers on board too, so it didn't feel like an appropriate venue to allow excessive alcohol on board.

The lunch in idyllic landscapes and surrounded by cows, and delicous food was something I did not expect.

The trip to Barrine Lake,Millaa Millaa Falls, &Paronella Park was awesome. The whole experience was fantastic, the Driver, the people on the bus were great. Bur my highlight of the trip was the Paronella Park, a little disappointing that not see platypus as the shut off area to get to see them, but over all the experience was fantastic. The morning tea, lunch were also beautiful. I could not fault the trip except at Paronella Park the time wasted short. Could be an other hr longer just to enjoy the whole experience while you where there. In the time you could nit see all that you wanted to.like the tracks etc it was a little rushed to make the most of it. But over all you could not fault the day. Not even the weather. . Thank you.

Well-organised pleasant tour.

Brett was an excellent driver & tour guide. He conveyed information well, & was so organised we had a reasonable amount of time at the locations, & didn’t feel rushed. An interesting day tour.

Very worth it

Amazing day. Steve and Troy were both very nice. We got plenty of information about the stunning landscape where we were driving. Waterfalls and Paronella Park are absolutely worth visiting. Lunch was tasty. I highly recommend this tour.

Had Steve for our tour guide, and he was brilliant! He was super funny, very friendly and full of knowledge. Great tour, plenty of things to see and enough pit stops for toilets Great family cafe on the way. Highlight was the big fig tree, the mila waterfall and the paronella park

Paronella Park was excellent. Would’ve liked a little more time here though. We were late getting there so had less time. It was the main reason we booked the trip

I enjoyed the trip once I got on the main bus .The shuttle was a bit late picking me up and the driver muttered reef tour to me so I was a-bit anxious that I was on correct shuttle. Once I got to city driver didn’t seem to be able to direct me to main bus.

Wonderful tour, great views, lots of ecology, good food

Our guide Brett was super friendly, professional, knowledgable, and a great driver! I did not expect “eco tour” to mean ecology tour but that is even better! Stunning views with lots of tidbits about local fauna and plants along the way. Scones and tea at Lake Barrine and rump stake pies at BnB cafe were all outstanding. The rain was pouring really hard at our last stop in Babinda so we could not see much, but that’s life. Everyone on our tour was friendly and we all had a great time.

Paronella Park was fascinating. Steve, the guide was a wealth of information throughout the excellent tour. Along with his knowledge he shared his love of the places we visited.

A fun filled day with food, history and amazing views

What an incredible day tour. fabulous and informative guide and so many iconic sites to see and get to know more about. The views, the waterfall at Millaa Millaa were incredible. Wow, what a day!

One of the best tours I have been on. You just have to do it to experience these North Queensland wonders. Loved all of it, and Warwick, our tour guide, was so knowledgeable and experienced. Thanks for even supplying serviettes when you thought we'd make a mess with our icecreams 🤣

Our fun and fascinating day

Was an amazing trip. The highlight for us was milla milla falls and the lovely morning tea at lake Barrine. Also the lunch at the little place at Milla Milla, gorgeous family and very welcoming

Best tour ever

It is hard to say what was my favourite part. Michelle, our driver and guide, was excellent, her knowledge was all encompassing and she kept the passengers entertained. The Lake Barrine tea house was lovely, scones were DELICIOUS and the twin kauri trees were interesting. Loved the Curtain fig tree, what a beauty. On to Milla Milla Falls. Again just beautiful. Michelle commented that Mother Nature had gone all out with this vista. She was right. Lunch at the B&B was great, the pie was yummy. What can I say about Paranella Park. What an interesting, history filled attraction. My only regret is that I wasn’t aware that I could have spent the night there and seen the spectacular light show! Next time. All in all I have no complaints and the trip rated 5⭐️.

Beautiful Day in Atherton Tablelands and Paronella Park!

This is a really great tour if you would like to visit the Tablelands and Paronella Park but don't have a lot of time and/or don't want to do lots of driving! I got picked up around 8:00 near my accommdation and straight away Steve, our guide and driver for the day, was very friendly. On the drive to our first stop, you choose what drink you would like for morning tea and what meal you would like for lunch. The whole journey, Steve was giving us lots of information on everything we saw. Our first stop after the Gillies Range was Lake Barrine Teahouse where we had our drink and some delicious scones. After we headed to the Curtain Fig Tree where we had a little walk and then onto Millaa Millaa Falls. Really nice waterfall and you can go for a swim if you feel like it (but the water is pretty cold!). Then we went for lunch at a nice family-run Teahouse which overlooks the Tablelands. I definitely recommend paying the extra to have your morning tea and lunch included because it was really yummy, homemade, and everyone found it filling so we weren't hungry for the rest of the day. After lunch was Paronella Park. There is a half hour guided tour of the gardens and then around have around an hour to explore yourselves. There isn't much left of the buildings but the gardens are really beautiful and there is a really nice waterfall. We got back into Cairns around 17:30 so it is a long day but it is worth it! Everything is included and I got to see and learn about lots of beautiful places!

A great Day Out.

Being on a small group tour was great. We really enjoyed learning details about Rainforest life and the Atherton Tablelands. The Curtain Figtree was amazing and Lake Barrine was beautiful. Great Devonshire Tea in the Tea Rooms. Paronella Park was such an interesting place to visit and we could have spent more time there exploring the amazing gardens. Our driver, Michelle, did a wonderful job and we really enjoyed our day trip.

A Must!

I really loved the Original Day Tour to Paronella Park, Lake Barrine and Millaa Millaa Falls; provided by Northern Experience Eco Tours. Steve, our bus driver and guide, provided an outstanding commentary, as well as anecdotes and humorous 'tales' to keep us entertained. This tour encompassed the breathtaking scenery and attractions of National Parks and the Atherton Tablelands; a region inland from Cairns that is full of unique features: picturesque waterfalls, dense rainforests, limestone caves and boulders. The mountains could be viewed from the bus, including Mt. Bartle Frere, Queensland's highest mountain. Yungaburra, a quaint little village, was the perfect stop for morning tea and a stroll around its flower lined streets to admire the heritage buildings. Yungaburra is also 'home' to the towering 500-year-old Curtain Fig Tree, easily accessible by boardwalk. What an amazing sight that was! Everything about the tour was fantastic, however the 'Super Star' for me was Paronella Park. The story of Paronella Park and its designer and creator, Jose Paronella, is a fascinating one which began with one man's vision. The guide at the park did an outstanding job telling Jose's story; a story I will never forget. Thank you, Northern Discovery Eco Tours and Steve for an incredible day! The original review

This tour is amazing, it’s not too long and the tablelands are beautiful. Millaa Millaa falls is the most perfect waterfall I’ve seen and Paronella is beautiful with a very interesting story. Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend the full 2 hours at Paronella Park which is what you need, and it was rushed, I think we only had 50-60 mins there, most of which was spent on the guided tour. I believe we probably spent a bit too long at lunch sitting around after eating. When we return to Cairns we’d def have to look at Paronella Park again to have a proper look around. Nonetheless I’d highly recommend this tour. it’s just unfortunate we didn’t get the full 2 hours at Paronella

Fun experience

All of tour are so beautiful , Michelle the tour guide looks amazing k after us very well and always on time she’s soo knowledgeable and knows what’s she’s talking and she add jokes which is also nice , she drives really well and keep us all safe😊

Great tour

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we loved all the amazing things he showed us. Milla Milla Falls, the Curtain Fig, Paronella Park were all highlights.

Had a wonderful day with our very knowledgeable guide Brett. Pick up was on time. Brett share the interesting facts about the area all the way. Nice spot for morning tea and lunch, both have nice view and very relaxing environment and the food are good too! We are always allowed enough time for photos.

Fantastic tour with an incredible guide

The whole day was an awesome experience. We were picked up on time directly from our hotel by Steve, who was our guide for the day. He was immediately welcoming and hospitable. The drive up to the tablelands was lovely and Steve ensured that it was as nice of a drive as possible whilst he was giving a really informative talk about our surroundings. The whole journey from the lakes to the waterfalls was breathtaking and Steve even took us to some additional spots which were great! He was so knowledgable and really involved everyone in the tour. Parronella park was wonderful and the guided tour around there was fantastic as well. Be prepared as it is quite humid in there but the views more than make up for it! Overall it was an incredible experience and I cannot say enough about how much of an incredible guide Steve was. Highly recommend.
