Absolutely love these guys, and would love to try again next time I visit Cairns. Energetic, fun, and engaging, although the weather ruined a bit of it. They stay strong and positive attitude. True Blue Aussies!

We had to pay an extra $177 on arrival, total of +$800 for 5 people The staff were good just way over priced for the activity

One of the best time I’ve had for a long time

I would love to thank everyone at raging thunder particularly Karel our guide on the raft I was on for one of the best time I’ve ever had . From time you get picked on the bus with wonderful staff and reach the gorge and the professional setup as you get on the raft and the fun begins, I highly recommend for every one to try this and this great people and company thank you Karel for making this fun

Brilliant fun Baron river

absolutely brilliant afternoon.! Well organised.! This is brilliant for families with kids or someone who has a trying it out for the first time .! If you want more of a thrill definitely do the Tully river .! Our guide today was Kyle he was absolutely brilliant.! Made the whole experience fun for my family and the other guys with us .! Five stars cheers mate.!👍

River rafting fun

Our family had a great day out on the river. Our guide, Ash, was amazing & we all had a lot of fun.

We had the best time with Kyle our guide, he was very good at his job, taking us through the rapids. Such a fun day out! Definitely would do it again!

Amazing first time river rafting experience

The most amazing first time experience for us! Convenient location from the town city, chill and easy going staff, great site for rafting. Although the rivers were a bit gentler than we expected, we were told they would be much more wilder especially after rain season! All in all, a great trip worthy of value P.S. Elliot was super fun and helpful, he offered to drive back to the hotel and return something of ours when we almost lost it on the raft!

Super fun!

This was great! The rapids were fun, but not too crazy - perfect for beginners. Everyone we interacted with was funny and kind but special shout-out to Ash who was a great guide even with no voice. Hope it gets better buddy.

Fantastic awesome afternoon

Pick up on time, our driver and bus guide Chris were awesome such a characters laughed all the way to the river. The instructions given were precise and simple to follow. They are repeated a few times along the river, for those who got too excited and weren't listening. Jack 21 was awesome and helped put us at ease and enjoy the experience he is an asset to the company. What a fantastic fabulous awesome afternoon highly recommend to any age 😀

Raging thunder adventures must do

I highly recommend this half day rafting adventure. Josh was our guide and he made it so much fun. My sister and I (in our late 40’s) went on a raft with a family of 4 (mum, dad and two teenage boys) and Josh. We booked online and self drove to Lake Placid and met the organisers and other adventurers there. Not overly Adrenalin inducing, the experience was a good workout and a lot of fun. I got thrown out of the raft on one of the rapids but once I came to surface, Josh was quick to pull me back in. I felt safe the whole time. I saw some older people on this day trip that would have been in their 60’s and the youngest would have been in their early teens. This really is an activity for all age groups. The views from the Barron River are also spectacular. Definitely do this half day experience if you’re looking for a fun afternoon adventure with like minded people. And ask for Josh, he had everyone on the raft laughing and having a great time.

Amazing experience with wife saved from water by experienced and friendly crew !

This is an amazing experience. Exciting and fun activities to do with family and friends. My wife was thrown out from the raft but was immediately safe by the crews. Amazing safely and taking care of the customers. Highly recommended.

Lots of fun!

Loved the white water rafting! Guides were great (thanks Josh!). The Barron River was beautiful and the Grade 3 rapids were so much fun!

It was awesome fun! it was my first time and it was unforgettable! there was a total of 8 ppl on our boat, 4 of us, 3 local tourists from the Victoria region and 1 guide and we were such an effective team!

Amazing trip - don’t miss this.

We had the most amazing time today. First did this trip back in 1996 but today was even better than we remembered. Our guide, Kiwi Cole , was brilliant - so much fun but knowledgeable and reassuring also. Made us all feel like the best rafters out there! Would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Cairns and Port Douglas.

Awesome fun!

Awesome fun doing this white water rafting experience. The guides are amazing, train you really well and are very experienced. The river and mountains are stunning to look at as you get an opportunity to jump in and cruise down the river. It's great value for a 3 hour trip. Loved it! And I totally recommend an authentic Italian wood-fired pizza and a glass of Montepulcano afterwards at Alessandro's at the caravan park overlooking the beautiful lake placid.

Fantastic fun white water rafting

Jake our guide was excellent. First time rafting and it was alot of fun. Lots laughter and getting wet. Very safe, wish it went longer.

Too many ppl

Too many people. 120 in fact on 21 rafts. Best if less people and rafts. Held up all the time in and out of the water. The bummer is that we did book thru a small tour but they meet up with all other tours. Nice trick

Rafting experience

The experience with Carlos being our guide was amazing. We enjoyed the serene views and the activity to the fullest. Will definitely recommend this experience.

A must do when in Cairns!

Such an awesome afternoon, so much fun and felt safe the whole time with Josh & James ( he drove us home on the bus) The team were great, so friendly, knowledgeable, very helpful and most of all fun!! Seeing the group work together when we went down the rapids was really impressive, commands were clear and knowing what to expect made me feel calmer (I like to plan so knowing what was coming was great) Was an overcast day with only a little bit of sun so wasn’t worrying about frying in the sun. A must do when you are in Cairns… will be talking about it for a long time to come, nothing we would of done unless we came up here!

Anxious Rafter

I had never been rafting before and I was extremely anxious about this activity however Levy, our guide, made me feel safe and comfortable and ensured I too enjoyed the experience. My fellow travelers who had rafted previously, had a great time fully immersing themselves in the experience. Another tick on the bucket list.

Had a great introductory white water raft for first timers today. A great combination of relaxing stretches and thrilling rapids! A particular shout out to our awesome and super friendly guide Eli (and not bad on the eyes either) who was really helpful and informative with all our questions. A big thank you to Eli and the staff who were so accommodating with our diabetic rafter, carrying his medication & allowing him to check his sugar levels on the water! Would definitely recommend.

Great experience and a lot of fun

We booked through a third party and was initially disappointed when we later found out about an extra $30 “river levy” that is charged on the bus for each person (this quickly added an extra $120 and because it was less than 24 hours - we couldn’t cancel. ). This term is way down on their website but was not disclosed at all when booking through the third party. We decided to suck it up as we were on a cruise ship and pretty everything in town had been booked. The bus could use a clean - there was dried blood on the inside of one of the windows and some mould in the back but it was ok - then there was about 20 minutes of standing around while the other busses turned up. However - once the trip began all was forgotten. It was amazing and all four of us - including my children aged 12 and 14 loved it. In addition to the rafting - We got to do some swimming through some rapids and always felt like we were in good hands with our instructor Ben. The crew were all friendly and there was a pretty good vibe across the team. They made sure we all had a good time. They all wanted to be there. I’d suggest taking a bottle of water in your bag to have a drink at the end as there were no shops etc to purchase any. We hope to come back and do the Tully adventure another time and wouldn’t hesitate to select the same company again.

Jack M is awesome!

We were lucky enough to be placed with Jack M as a tour guide. The experience was amazing, not only the rafting but Jack allowed us to hop out of the boat twice and float down the river. He was awesome enough to allow us to purposely tip the boat and jump off some rocks in our waiting time. This tour was off the chain, we would 100% recommend doing it and if you can, go with Jack M.

Carlos was an excellent tour leader! We had the best experience with him and felt extremely safe due to his high level of experience.

Brilliant intro to White Water Rafting for Young and Old ( 62yrs young)

Brilliant intro to White Water Rafting for Young and Old (I'm 62yrs young) . It was a great afternoon on the Barron River with Foaming Fury out of Cairns , Levii our guide/instructor was informative , friendly and fun . The rapids on the Barron were graded as 2s and 3s and perfect for 1st timers and the young and young at heart. But if you are looking for a challenge to test yourself and true exhilaration Foaming Fury also do half day and full day Tulley River experiences with grade 3s and 4s I did this trip some years ago and it was a thrill a minute !!!!! Great intro White Water

From booking, to pickup to splash time this was a really great little white water experience. Grade 2-3 rapids were just enough for first timers and those who had been before. This trip was exactly as described at booking…a few hours on the river, beautiful gorge and experience guides. There were 22 boats on the river…so it was a big group overall but the guides worked on pods keeping everyone having fun and safe. There was one particularly exciting rapid that challenged a few boats (and swimmers) but the guides were spot on pro with safety ropes and no one was in any real trouble! I've been on a few other White Water trips…this is a good intro….other longer, bigger rivers have a bit more punch to the number and size of some rapids…but for the length of time and the ease of access from Cairns…this is a great trip….our first timers had a great day!

Fun times for all

Awesome trip down the River. Fairly calm. Guide was phenomenal making a somewhat tame adventure exciting. Our group included all ages from 34 to 69 years old

Fun and an experience!

Decided to go white water rafting on my 65th birthday - taking my older teen daughter who’d not experienced this … WOW 😮 she had a blast! We both and her boyfriend loved it all from start and the fair dunking training- to the end carrying the boat back, a bit chilly! Missed the swim off the boat though think 🤔 Special thanks to BEN our guide/ captain/ teacher/safety officer/ story teller.. just a lovey Aussie guy.👍 The rest of the staff were helpful and fun - including Jacky(?) on the bus. The photographer did a good job and photos well worth it - and they revealed all sorts of unknown moments!🌻

Excellent family fun

An excellent afternoon at Baron River Rafting. A great experience for the family. Rapids were pretty mild but a great first experience for novice rafters. Max was a brilliant guide who made it enjoyable, informative, fun and kept us safe!

Good family fun!

We had an awesome day on the Barron River. Eli was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate and great for us as we had youngish kids. The rapids were fairly tame so it is a good one to do with children but if you want more of a thrill the Tully river would be better.

Good

Good experience, however it’s pretty tame and very much a stop start exercise. Constantly waiting around for every boat and to be honest the rapids aren’t that wild, we could easily tube down them.

All the guides were super enthusiastic, there was a great atmosphere within beautiful surrounding. The experience was very fun and I would definitely do it again.

Captain Carlos

Booked in really easily, and the company was helpful in explaining the full tour plans. Picked up and dropped off from the rafting which made it a stress free afternoon. Captain Carlos was brilliant as our guide/instructor and made sure we had the best experience and got absolutely soaked with minimal casualties. Overall, a great way to spend the afternoon. Highly recommend.

Amazingly Awesome, super Safe

Olivia was our awesome guide for the day. The team was super friendly and knowledgeable. Safety was their main priority and they managed a huge group of people with ease. Good clear instructions made they day unforgettable. Thank you to Olivia for an awesome experience.

Amazing instructors, the rest of the service was a bit crap

The instructors were amazing!!! We had Justin and he was brilliant. Can't thank them enough. Unfortunately they were really late picking us up and an hour late dropping us back which interfered with our plans. We stood shivering and wet waiting for the bus to arrive with our clothes. Also we saw no photos? Still awaiting. Maybe they just had a bad day?

Ripper fun

We had Dan the Bush Chook as our guide. He did a great job of keeping us safe with maximum fun. We Shared a boat with lovely people that made a great team. Rapids we perfect for a mixture of participants with different levels of experience.
