Our Hungarian dinner with locals was great. A nice young couple with a baby. Food was great. The pickup and return to our hotel was very unique and greatly appreciated. A highlight of our visit to Budapest.

Wonderful way to spend an evening

Excellent evening and the food was wonderful, Hungarian gourmet! Hosts were reliving and gracious. Highly recommended. Would do this again if I come back to Budapest.

It was a wonderful cultural experience that centered around Hungarian family life. Using family recipes and locally sourced foods. Great communication and transportation.

Wonderful Evening with a Hungarian Couple in their Flat

Attilla picked us up and helped translate. George and Kata (both young architects) were wonderful hosts and cooked up a four course meal ending with crepes for dessert. Good conversation learning about their lives, and seeing the quarters people live in in Budapest. Highly recommend. --Eric & Debora Edmunds

Dinner with Young Hungarian Professionals

We were picked up at our hotel by Atilla, the tour director, who took us to the private apartment of a young English-speaking Hungarian couple, both architects. We had a fascinating evening. Dinner was a "grandmother's recipe" and delicious. The couple was charming and gave us a real education on what it means to be young in Hungary today. Very informative and fun. These were real folks who let us into their homes and lives. Not to be missed.

Dinner with locals is a winner!

Atilla was fantastic! We wanted to do the dinner with locals in their home, but needed certain adjustments to the normal event. Atilla somehow managed to accommodate our unique requests with no problem! He has a fantastic personality, very welcoming and making you feel comfortable immediately. And the hosts, a fantastic young couple, made us an incredible dinner, with Danny even making a cake. I would highly recommend Atilla for any tour!

An Experience to cherish

This was the highlight of our visit. Atilla picked us up at our hotel and took us to the home of George and his wife. She prepared a 4 course traditional Hungarian dinner. We had many dinners and lunches at different restaurants in Hungary, and none compared to the dinner at George's house. The evening was filled with good conversation and laughter. I recommended it to friends we met on our cruise, and they said it was also a highlight of their trip. To have an evening in the home of a family is an experience few get to enjoy, but it is one that will be cherished for our lifetime.

We had a wonderful dinner with our Hungarian family in their comfortable and welcoming home. Our guide Atilla did a wonderful job translating and keeping the dinner talk lively. The food was wonderful and plentiful with two Hungarian wines, a starter, soup, a main course and dessert. In addition to all this we were picked up and dropped off at our lodging. Definitely a highlight!

Our Traditional Hungarian Experience

Atilla was the perfect guide, polite, knowledgeable, punctual and willing to go out of the way for a special picture opportunity on the way home. He took us to a local home for a traditional Hungarian dinner and stayed to translate for us. The food was just what we wanted and the company was comfortable. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

Great evening in Budapest

Sharing a meal with la local couple was a great experience. The tour guide and owner was great. Even though there was a lot of translating happening, the evening was filled with sharing information and enjoying each other’s company We would definitely recommend this tour!!!!!

Feel like family! Enjoy supper with folks you feel like you've known for years :)

We now have a Hungarian Family! Get off the tourist path and give this a try. Atilla was amazing. Hotel pickup is HUGE, not all tours offer this. The drive to the home was a bit of a scenic tour, a bit of educational country information, and a lot of laughs with someone who felt like we had been friends for years. Arriving at the humble home, we immediately felt like family. George and Gisela (spelling?) welcomed us warmly. The home reminded me of my grandparents - comfy, full of history. I enjoyed the chats we had (Atilla is tremendous at translating), and the laughs! So many chuckles over stories we both had to share! Enjoyed also seeing photos of their son and learning how Atilla had known the family for years... it was a special window into their lives and their hearts. Oh and the cooking? Give me home cooked meals any day! We left with hugs and smiles (and even a garden gift from George, which melted my heart). A thoughtful and genuine experience - you won't regret it if you book this!

Incredible Dinner and unique experience.

Our family had an wonderful time meeting Andras and his parents. His mother prepared an absolutely delicious meal. We really enjoyed the evening and getting a local perspective. Kids also loved it! Very grateful for the opportunity.

Day trip

This was our second time on this tour we were here 2 years ago ! So wonderful both experiences! Very knowledgeable and personable was Attila. We used him a second time. Highly recommend ♥️

Relaxing way to see Budapest and more

I had been to Budapest 2 years before and done a tour with Andras. This time we did the tour with Attila. If you are short on time or just want to see the highlights without worrying about the details and how to get around - this is it. Attila picked us up promptly and took us to all of the highlights of Budapest. Some of us couldn’t walk so well so it was great. I know what to see already since I’ve been here before, and we definitely saw a lot in a short period of time. We also did the personal Hungarian dinner. You see where the real folks live which is something different. Good food and enjoyable company. We enjoyed the day so much, we booked Attila to take us to Eger. Sure I could have driven myself, but who wants to drive back to Budapest after drinking some wine?! Not I! He’s very kind, easy going and flexible. So you can probably arrange other excursions or personalize what you want to see. Lastly, you get this personal touch at a very reasonable price. So go ahead, relax, and spend some time with some real Hungarians.

Second time on this tour for some

It was second time on this tour for some in our group and first for one other. There are many things one does on vacation that aren’t memorable, this isn’t one of them - very nice and memorable day with Atilla and with Andras’ parents. Highly recommended! Thanks very much for another great day!!

Brilliant and personal

Had an amazing tour with Andras and lunch at the house of his parents (who were so welcoming and lovely it really made our trip). Andras was great with the kids and clearly has an exceptional knowledge of, and love for, Budapest. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Incredible Evening

We were picked up from our hotel lobby by our driver and wonderful guide/host Andras. It was a very nice ride with lots of local information and points of interest mentioned. We arrived at the home of his parents and all 6 of us were welcomed very warmly with glasses of palinka poured immediately. It was an amazing dinner full of Hungarian dishes and dessert and was greatly enjoyed by all. I would highly recommend this experience for anyone who wants to enjoy true Hungarian food and spend some time with a wonderful family.

We spent a WONDERFUL evening with Andras and his incredible parents in their home. Probably one of the best things we have ever done. Gracious hosts and Andras our guide was spectacular. The food and drinks were wonderful, but more importantly we were able to get to know a wonderful family. I would highly recommend this and I would highly recommend Andras as a guide. Jeanne

Brilliant

Just one word - Brilliant It was one of the best experiences in Budapest. Wonderful hosts and great local food. From drinks to deserts everything was simply superb. Homely food and great setup to get local experience. Strongly recommend and must do in Budapest. Andras was a great guide and made our trip fun.

Home visit and tour around Budapest

We were four couples traveling together and spending 4 days in lovely Budapest. We chose this tour because we wanted to see the most of Budapest in a relative short time and we wanted to experience something different, which is why we also choose the Hungarian lunch in a Hungarian home. Our guide picked us up at 11.00, we went with a minibus around Budapest, and we had a few photo stops during the tour as well. After the tour, we went to the home visit. The host was very friendly and it was a great experience. The food was okay, nothing special, but quite okay. Our guide during the whole tour was also friendly and we would rate him “average”. It would be nice if he spoke more and was a bit more prepared.

Super, ein MUSS für jeden Budapest Trip !!!

Tolles Event mit ganz netten einheimischen Ungarn in deren privaten Haus etwas außerhalb der pulsierenden Metropole. Ein unbedingtes MUSS wenn man sich für Land, Leute und Bräuche interessiert. Die Gastgeber, ein älteres glückliches Ehepaar, denen es wahrhaftig Spass macht Ausländer zu bekochen und sich auszutauschen und der Guide, der Sohn der Familie waren sehr angenehm, freundlich und wir hatten auch sehr viel Spass und Freude. Vielen Dank an die tollen Gastgeber !!!
