Dinner vs Seeing the Sights….

We have mixed feelings about this tour. Nothing about it was negative but if you’d like to see the Danube River by night and get some great photos, it may be best to do a cruise specifically with this in mind. Having a 7 course meal doesn’t allow you to fully appreciate the sights. In hindsight, we should’ve considered this. Also a tip, don’t pay extra for the window seat, everybody has one. Natalia, our waiter was attentive and professional and the pianists and singer were good as well.

Eniko was excellent host and we had everything we needed, food was great, music was great, staff were great and the views were spectacular. This is a must do trip if you in Budapest. Love and thanks to everyone involved ❤️

Poor service and poor communication

Booked this trip 5 days ago, I had an email the next day saying that they had to cancel due to technical problems, still not got my £200 refund and they are not responding to my messages. Avoid this provider.

Cancelled by operator at last minute!

Cancelled by Silverline Cruises at last minute due to "technical problem" (actually due to insufficient ticket sales per a member of staff). Promised a refund, but not received yet!

Views, food and Entertainment in One!

The views were beautiful at night, this is a must! The entertainment and food was great as well.

Far too touristy

The two piano players were too loud for the space. We did the 6 course dinner and it was mediocre. The cruise was basically the cruise boat going from one end of Budapest bridge to the far bridge and then turning back…. Did this for 3 hrs. Very touristy. Would have been better to take an hour cruise to see the night lights.

Very enjoyable

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our river cruise The food was absolutely beautiful!! We enjoyed all 6 courses and we were very happy choosing 3/6 dishes ! The views were lovely and was great to be able to get some lovely pictures at night time. The only thing that let it down was the 3 power cuts which meant the boat had to restock to charge ! However they did give us a complimentary drink to apologise. Lovely music and lovely way to round off our holiday !

An evening on the Danube

Good welcoming, nice layout, welcomed drink (fizz) not very chilled compared with the red wine, too cold, 6 course meal, menu only for thee courses no idea what we're the first two courses (mousse bouche)?? The soups were nice and full of flavour, very delicious main courses, Salmon and Beef Stew but they could have been hotter, nice desserts, but lack of bread/crackers with cheese. For unlimited drinks very poor choices and very slow service, the wine served I don't believe it was a very good quality as two of our glassware of red wine was full of residue/sediment, apart from this an enjoyable night, plenty of pictures opportunities as Budapest is lovely at night.

Pleasant evening

Pleasant dinner with live music. Not so much a piano battle as 2 guys alternating on stage. Rainy evening outside but everything well done inside.

It’s worth it!

You can get an amazing view of the most beautiful buildings in the river. The food was good and the service too. The singer Patricia is amazing! She took some nice pictures from us. And of course she sings lovely🥰 the experience in general was really good. Thanks again for a beautiful night!

Piano accompaniment

We enjoyed our time on the Danube and the food was good. Our favorite part of the experience were the two pianists. They were skilled and entertaining. Our vocalist was just okay and service was very slow. We ordered the all inclusive drink package, and though we don’t drink alcohol, it took a long time to even get water when we wanted it.

We had an amazing evening on the Danube. Outstanding pianists and a brilliant singer. The food was good and we were offered so many drinks with our package, we had to decline some. Staff are fabulous! We read the reviews but our experience was first class.

A really great evening cruise

Our hotel booked this for us and we weren’t sure quite what to expect. We received a warm greeting and were shown to a great table. We had brought the drinks package and kicked off with a lovely bottle of Hungarian sparking wine. All six courses were very tasty and the service was absolutely first class throughout. We really enjoyed the two pianists, who were first class, and the singer who joined them later was great.

6 course with extra drinks.not worth it

View of the lite up building along the shore on the Danube River were beautuful. Food was not anything to boast of, staff was not cordial, only 2 glasses of champagne.

Incredible food, amazing staff and great entertainment

The 6 course meal was delicious with great options, the piano and singing entertainment was fantastic with beautiful night time scenes, and waitresses were very accommodation and haste with offering excellent service, very much worth the cost !!

Rip off merchants

Avoid the drinks package. They totally take the micky. First to order last to receive the drinks. Ask for another drink to be told sorry we're about to Dock no more orders, then the same waitress takes paid orders from the table next to us and subsequently brings their drinks. These guys are rip off merchants, we paid €40 plus for a drinks package and were lucky to get €20 worth of drinks. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Bought the most expensive...

Bought the most expensive drink package, what we were offered was the most cheapest of all. Food, main course was dry and cold, a brownie for dessert, hard and cold and tasteless

Views, atmosphere, great food - what’s not to love!

Wasn’t sure what to expect as the price was a little on the high side but we were disappointed. I am a fairly fussy eater and thoroughly enjoyed every course. We chose unlimited drinks and were happy with the selection. The pianists were very professional and plenty of known tunes. We weren’t expecting a singer so that was an added bonus. Loved looking at the sites all lit up - the highlight of our break away for sure.

Average Experience, no specic issues, it's the little things...

We were here on a rainy night which may have affected our experience. We arrived 20 minutes early and made to wait in a holding area with no drink service and no character and only about 6 chairs for 20 people. Once we boarded the boat, Piano dinner was on the upper deck, and a Hungarian show was on lower deck. We paid extra for a window seat, but ALL the upper deck seats are windows. Don't pay extra. The music was pleasant enough. But the 6 course was weird, about 2/3 guests had one color napkin to indicate a 4 course.. we had about 2 tablespoons of a cheese salad of some kind and a cheese plate after desert...it wasn't well explained there were food options. The food quality was acceptable, nothing memorable, but not poor either. Which was ok because we were there for the views. Due to the rain, they had all the windows closed so it was a bit stuffy, when we opened ours, they asked us to close them, even though no rain was getting into the cabin. So to take photos we had to walk down the wet outside stairs to take the pictures from the lower back exterior to avoid glass glare. We were over dressed because our ticket said dress code formal, so I was in a dress and husband in nice slacks and a vest. Most guests were in shorts, jeans and sneakers. It had a lot of potential, but starting with the poor first impression and misleading upgrades we call this an average experience.

Lovely way to spend an evening

Great way to spend an evening, be careful, it is 3 hours long but if you have the 6 courses including drinks the time soon passes. Left in the light which gave great views of Budapest and then when it went dark and the buildings were lit up the views were even better. If you want to get the best picture of the Parliament building then you must do this trip. Food was great and the entertainment was entertaining, all staff and crew were friendly and efficient. A great night.

Okay but a few things to note…

Firstly- I would say that we would recommend this experience. We think there are a few things to help travellers considering this. The boat was very clean and tidy and the upper deck dining salon looked amazing. Every table has a window so you do not need to pay extra for a window seat (not sure about seating in lower deck for other packages- but piano duel package- every table has a window) We opted for the drinks package- thus was fine but we felt we had to continually ask for a drink (two of our party were only on soft drinks as well) - and when things were brought, each glass was only a quarter full. This made us feel like we were having to continually ask. I would recommend just getting a bottle of wine and a bottle of water off menu and thus serve yourself. The food was okay - 6 courses and quite pleasant- I would suspect that nothing was prepared on the boat and hot courses were simply warmed up prior to serving. But everything tasted fine. The pianists were very skilled and the music was non-stop and pleasant. There was no ‘duel’ however as seen in other piano bars across the world. It would be easier to call this package ‘dinner cruise with piano accompaniment’ Lastly, the course on the Danube was actually laps of a route- thus we passed the parliament building 5 or 6 times. This was a beautiful building to see, but it felt unusual to go on a cruise where we just circuits of the same river section. As said at start- we would probably do this again but felt others would find this info helpful

Magical lights, delicious food and wonderful atmosphere

Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, wonderful sight from the Danube, the evening lights are magical. During the trip, the unique night panorama of Budapest, with the parliament bathing in the sunset, the illuminated bridges and special buildings, all this with cozy piano music. The staff is kind and attentive, the food is special and delicious, every minute of the cruise was a wonderful experience, we have not had anything like this before.

Everyone gets a window seat so please don’t sell a window seat. Food was great. Entertain was good but no battle. Female vocal was wonderful. Very comfortable evening, views were spectacular and easy access to docks. We would recommend as the evening was memorable.

Dinner on the Danube

Evening Danube cruise. Seating tight but okay but tablemates imbibed way too much beer and room very noisy. Entertainment diverting. Food so so. Ambience grand.

Great cruise, great food, slightly off perfect due to loud drinks-only groups mixing with dining couples

The cruise was tremendous. Great sights and the staff were lovely. The food too was excellent and would have not been out of place in an on shore restaurant bidding for its first star. However, we've had to drop a star as most of the top deck had couples out for a romantic meal like us, but this was ruined by a loud group of six friends who ruined the ambience for the rest of us. The tour operator should separate drinks only packages away from this deck to ensure the atmosphere is not compromised by loud groups.

Outstanding Evening.

I cannot rate this experience highly enough. We opted for the six-course dinner and paid the extra €15 each for unlimited drinks which was an absolute bonus; total, €72 each. The dinner consisted of amuse bouche, bouche bites, soup, mains, desserts & a small cheese selection; all very delicious and each course well spaced out. The drinks package included house wines (inc sparkling), beer & soft drinks. The food was delicious and the quality of Hungarian wines was surprisingly good. Boarding was efficient, the staff outstanding and everything organised superbly. The pianists played non-stop for three and a half hours and the maitre d’ was also the very talented singer. We were entertained with every genre of music from jazz to pop, classical to musicals. An outstanding evening.

Das Essen war nicht gut für den Preis den man bezahlt, die Getränke kamen erst auf nochmaliges nachfragen, das willkommensgetränk kam gar nicht, und zum Schluss kam die Kellnerin und meinte ich solle noch etwas bezahlen obwohl wir keinen Alkohol und das All inclusive Paket
