Great Overview of the Troubles!

Martin made the history come alive for us! He did a great job providing history of the area and sharing his own experiences during the troubles. Great way to see these sites especially if on time restraint.

Brilliant

Highly recommend. Tony was our tour guide and was just amazing! Very knowledgeable about the Troubles and was able to answer any questions we had. Whilst the Troubles is a serious topic, Tony made the ride enjoyable and we all had a good laugh! 5stars!

Unmissable tour of Irish history

Tony took us back to significant places in recent history and educated us on everything to do with Irish conflict, revolutionaries and the Troubles. He explained the amazing murals all over the area and detailed both sides of the story then took us to a little museum that we would’ve missed if we’d travelled the city ourselves. This tour was fascinating, heart wrenching and intimate. It is essential to understand the history of Ireland. Highly recommended also by another tour company we’d used for the Giants Causeway.

Tony - the best guide you could ask for.

Our Driver Tony was beyond kind. He was very punctual, informative and attentive. Tony went out of his way to bring us to a local republican museum tan by volunteers as we were on our tour from 12-1pm. The tour itself was fantastic, shown so much within the hour and we were fortunate enough to have the chance to take photos and take in the information given to us.

Riveting

A group of 5 of us did the Political Taxi Tour on Sunday, November 19th at 12 mid-day with Tony Gargan. The tour was riveting. Tony's descriptions were very detailed. His knowledge was encyclopaedic. His imaginative discussion was so atmospheric, that it made us feel what it was like during the troubles. He gave a very vivid description of the background of the troubles. Amazing tour experience

I’m a little late in this review (sorry Michael), but wanted to mention how amazing of a tour Michael gave my boyfriend Dave and I on our recent trip to Belfast. He was extremely knowledgeable and kind and a great person to talk to. He immediately made us feel welcome and like we were old friends. Highly recommend taking this tour with Michael if you want to learn about the troubles!

Eye opening!

This was an amazing tour given by a person with a close family experience in the Troubles. I don’t want to give away the spoiler, but be sure to ask for Tony to be your driver. Very informative and non biased.

A Substantial and Important Tour

Tony, our driver, presented The Troubles in a balanced and nuanced manner. His intimate knowledge of the events lent do much gravitas to the tour. If you wish to have an understanding of all that happened, please take this tour.

Great tour of Belfast

What an amazing tour. Our driver Tony was a wealth of knowledge, detailing the history of the dark troubles in Belfast. So much information, but provided in a clear, concise way! I would highly recommend this 90 minute tour if you are ever in Belfast. They never taught this history in school, and you will come away with an greater appreciation for the Irish people!..

Jackie was amazing!!! He was so interesting to chat to, and we learned so much, it was eye opening, eerie, significant, hopeful. He was open to answering all our questions and tailoring the tour for our interests as well. We highly recommend. The vehicle was clean and comfortable.

Great tour for a look at the wall art surrounding the troubles. Jimmy our cab driver was fantastic and very knowledgeable. I would recommend this to anyone as it is a story that needs telling.

Political Taxi Tour

We couldn't rate the taxi tour high enough. Our driver was excellent and so knowledgeable, he did a great job explaining all aspects of the troubles. The best city tour we have ever done. We also left a mobile phone in the back of the cab and the customer service was brilliant, they went above and beyond getting it back to us.

Extremely interesting. I would definitely recommend you do it. The driver was friendly and informative. I can't say the driver was neutral, it didn't spoil it, but it did leave me curious about a number of things. I would have loved to have heard the other side of the story.

Fantastic

Great tour, our guide Jackie was nice, funny and interesting and we had a great time. He had a genuine interest in everything he talked about and even stayed a little longer past our slot to have a chat as he saw I was also interested.

Michael our tour guide was one of the best guides we’ve ever had. His neutral view on what was a sensitive issue made the tour hugely informative. My knowledge of the ‘troubles’ was okay before hand but now I feel I could write a paper on them. Great to see and hear that the country is moving forwards in a positive direction. Would fully recommend City Tours Belfast to anyone visiting Northern Ireland.

Don't waste your money!

We bought these tickets through groupon prior to travelling to belfast for the weekend. I wish we had waited and paid more for a reliable service. We used our tickets last Saturday and sunday and to be quite honest it was a shambles. They made the route up as they went along. On sunday morning we got the 1030 bus from stop one to titanic and then headed up to the castle. It was a lovely day so we hoped to get off and back in the next bus home however after we visited titanic and then returned to stop one and waited another 15mins (we were already 15mins late in leaving from 1030) when we arrived at the castle our tour guide informed us that this bus was the last one therefore we were unable to get another one. We later attempted to get the bus to queens university however we were told that buses were running every hour rather than the poor 45mins the day before. Again, when we attempted to see stormont on sunday at 2.30pm we were told there were no more buses going to that area that day. They literally chopped and changed the routes and times of the buses to suit themselves. Like someone else has mentioned. I have emailed the company last sunday however no response despite them saying a 3-5 day response. My only advice is do not use the company. It is not worth it, this could have spoiled our weekend but we tried not to. We will return but will not return to use this company and would advise you not to either. I welcome response from this company to see if we can agree a suitable outcome for the disappointing service and non access to services. Thanks.

A one-hour tour that provides the most interesting information on Belfast sad but powerful history! Daniel, the guide was outstanding! Anyone visiting Belfast should experience this!! Thank you for your efficiency and kindness!
