Highly recommend the tour

The tour was very accurate to the itinerary our tour guide Louis and driver Steven were great and very informative. We learned a lot about Northern Ireland and really enjoyed the tour.

Cheap and cheerful

Chaotic joining with no communication because it was a Sunday. What travel company is closed on a Sunday. Our driver Lindsay was entertaining and knowledgeable but should he have been providing commentary and driving Stop at the whisky distillery is a total waste of time as you do not have enough time to taste and buy. Would be better to spend time at the tour highlight namely the causeway. That said and it is not the tour company’s fault the giant causeway is a bit underwhelming

Causeway Tour - Too rushes ad Solo Traveller Bullied

The itinerary is far too rushed, Only short stops at Carrickfergus, Bushmills, Absolutely rubbish stop for lunch. Barely time to walk down to the Causeway and back. Why are solo travellers expected to move because couples need to si together, I arrived early to get a window seat but was asked to move twice to an aisle seat. I felt bullied and pressurised, Giants Causeway

Excellent trip for GoT fans and sightseeing opportunities

What a fabulous day with our great driver Mark and our excellent tour guide Rachael.... We were lucky with the weather and fit so much in to this amazing interesting and informative day with stunning views along the Antrim coast en route to all the amazing planned sites Highly recommend this trip and hope your lucky enough to get mark or Rachel on your trip they were first class

Fun trip

Ben was a cracking guide. Informative and entertaining. Giants causeway was the highlight of the day

Great way to see these sights.

A really great value tour. We really enjoyed this tour. The views along the coast road were spectacular and all the places we visited were stunning. I chose this tour because of the couple of GOT spots it visits or goes through and it did not disapoint. The Hedges hotel at the Dark Hedges is a great place to stop and have a carvery, quick service with time to spend at the Dark hedges. Cafe on site too. Ben our Driver had a great sense of humour and his commentary was fabulous. We also got one of the sunniest days so far so that made the visit to all the sites much more spectacular.

Excellent Tour

Fantastic value for all the different sights to be seen. Lindsey was an excellent tour guide & driver! Very entertaining and full of knowledge and charm!

Dissapointment

We booked on the tour after being told that we could put our cases on the bus and be dropped off at the park and ride, as this was the day we were flying home. All seemed good and we thought great customer service. We arrived at the pick up point around 15 minutes early, we waited and waited until after 20 past the departure time, not punctual. Eventually a gentleman from the company arrived who we had spoken to prior to booking the tour said that the tour was overbooked and they were unable to take us. Disappointed is an understatement. We were left in Belfast with our luggage and no place to go. I would strongly advise against booking this tour as to spare your disappointment.

We really enjoyed our day. The stops were not too long or short. We were very lucky with the weather and it was perfect to enjoy the giants causeway in the sunshine. The coastline is just stunning. No other words are enough. I imagine the dark hedges look much more impressive when the trees are in leaf. Kevin, our driver, was great. Really informative and a nice man. Thank you for a great trip. We would definitely recommend this tour.

A great tour. Fully recommended!

The locations speak from themselves. They will never disappoint. The coach was warm and comfortable and the route taken meant you could take in more views. The driver was knowledgeable added to the experience with interesting and humorous commentary.

Fantastic customer service. The owner of Allen’s Tours saved our day !

Fantastic day , especially Giants causeway . Just the right amount of time at each stop . Our mistake , but we boarded the wrong bus outside visitor centre , I showed the driver our booking ticket with Allen’s Tours and he told us to get on. Long story short - we were about to be dropped at an attraction in the middle of nowhere , we requested to get a lift back to Belfast . I telephoned the owner of Allen’s and explained the situation. Apparently this has happened before and the corporation bus drivers don’t seem to give a toss about completely messing up people’s days. Allen’s owner ( sorry, didn’t get your name )arrived in a mini bus and promptly drove us Tojoin the bus at the giants causeway. This took a couple of hours in all . I would totally recommend this company as they go the whole hog to ensure their customers are very well looked after. Thanks again .

Good value, good natured tour

Good value, good-natured tour. I was in Belfast for work and had a day to spend afterwards and it was a great way to see the Giant’s Causeway without any hassle. I enjoyed the driver’s deadpan delivery of his facts and stats. It’s a full day but you cover the sites quite efficiently. Just be careful to double check where you’re being picked up from. If you book through a 3rd party (like Tripadvisor) they might not know if you’ve specified a pick-up location.

Fantastic Driver and Guide

This tour was bought for us a gift and turned out to be truly memorable. I never realised the Northern Irish coast was so beautiful. The itinery was slightly changed from the advertised one but probably turned out a better option. We were blessed with good weather even though it was cold until we reached Giants Causeway. Although the Causeway is absolutely beautiful we were forced to return to the higher ground as the rain, wind and cold was just too much. Our driver was also our tour guide and had incredible knowledge not just of the Game of Thrones sites but also the history of Northern Ireland. So pleased we did this tour.

Would recommend

Had a proper trip with Allen’s tour. The driver Lindsay (Just leanrt that its a unisex name!) was very talkative and told us lots about the views on the way. Try to be more interactive with him and you’d have a more fun journey!

Great little tour, be prepared!

Met early to jump on with our driver Lindsay - he explained everything well. Highlights were Carrickfergus Castle (but no time to go in), The Dark Hedges and of course the Giants’ Causeway. About 90 minutes to explore the latter. Listen to his advice! I’d say bring sandwiches or use the cafe at the Dark Hedges. The Game of Thrones links are a little weak otherwise, but you do pass the Wall! It’s a long day - just over half of the time is on the bus, but it’s good value and there’s plenty of beautiful scenery to look at.

Well worth it

Weather made it difficult to see most of the site. But the causeway. Dark hedges and castle weed well worth the tour.

Giant’s Causeway & Game of Thrones Tour - Hmm

Just want to say that we enjoyed the tour, great scenery and knowledgeable driver however if you're a Game of Thrones fan you will be very disappointed. We did stop at the Dark Hedges but the rest of the Game of Thrones Tour was a random bit of trivia from the driver like "The Ice Wall was based on that", "That's where Aria Stark got stabbed" and about two other bits of trivia. It is worth mentioning that at no time was it mentioned that the walk to the Giants Causeway is 0.6 mile and very steep. I have metal knees and had a lot of trouble when I finally got there but not one mention that a bus will get you there and back for £1 each way. I gave in and got the bus back so I could spend more time in The Nook pub. All in all a very enjoyable tour but don't think you're getting a Game of Thrones Tour. I've noticed that Allen's did have the proper name of this tour at one time which was "Giants Causeway, Rope Bridge, Carrickfergus Castle and Dark Hedges Tour" and that is more accurate although you only see the Rope Bridge from half a mile away.

Misled and cheated

The causeway was excellent However I was totally disappointed with the game of thrones sites . To be told whilst the coach was travelling, if you look to your left across the field at the farmhouse there are some caves to the left where they shot scenes for the series . And again down the valley on the right was another place where they did filming . All while the coach was travelling, I found that insulting , to claim that we were taken to actual sites where they filmed scenes for Game of Thrones . It's false advertising to say the least as it totally misleads your expectations and should be removed from the description of the trip .

Lame

Just not worth the time. Giants Causeway wasn't worth the time, pointing out where an actor fell off the bridge, and a rope bridge is worthless.

A long hot journey from hell!

A journey from hell! The coach was very hot, the guide left his mike on which whistled and screeched when he stopped talking. He constantly said things like "I think" and "we gone the wrong way". Our pick up was 25 minutes late. We then stopped after after 30 minutes for a loo stop, then again at a terrible place for lunch, minutes after getting back on the coach he asked for a show of hands for people "wanting to stop for a further 15 minutes for refreshments before getting the Causeway and thus losing 15 minutes from our time at the Causeway. Needless to say the vast majority of us didn't." He seemed genuinely surprised when at least 10 of us got off the coach as soon as we could when back in Belfast. I long tiring, hot day, had I known we would spend 6 hours sitting on a coach I wouldn't have gone. The guide also admitted he knew noting about the GoT element of the tour.

Such a great day

From beginning to the end our day was fab. Lindsay our driver was informative, interesting and fun. The pace of the day was perfect with enough time at each stop to have a stroll and grab a cuppa. Lunch break at dark hedges was long enough to grab food and take a stroll. Loved our trip up to the causeway. Beautiful villages ports and seaside towns. Blessed with lovely weather was also perfect. Would highly recommend Allens Tours.

Horrible Treatment to Customers

Their tour bus driver scolded me in front of the entire bus because I kindly called in customer service to inquire about an issue I had with the tour. They then called him and I have no clue what was said on the phone to him, but the awful glare I received as I was lined up to get on the bus told me he was very unhappy. See the video for yourself, I’m shocked that this is the type of customer service Allen Tours find acceptable and even more shocked that their team has been ignoring my emails and calls. There has been no apology sent, let alone a refund for this awful treatment I received. My family and I had to once again deal with the drivers unprofessional and rude behaviour when we were seated when he came to the back of the bus to continue his rant. Shame on you Allen Tours. I came to Northern Ireland all the way from Canada and didn’t receive this type of rude behaviour from any other tour we had there except yours. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Not your average tour

A fantastic day with a ride around the city to introduce us to Belfast and out through the countryside hearing stories and history from our guide - a native of Belfast - Ben. Stopping at the "Dark Hedges" and Bushmills Distillery were a bonus and wonderful excursion to our primary focus- as The Giant Causeways were our ultimate destination where we were allotted plenty of time to venture off and explore and experience. On the way back to the ship we were treated with another ride around Belfast to view the murals and hear our guide share experiences growing up in Belfast. Thank you Ben for guiding us and all you did today to help us make memories.

Enjoyable day

Loved the giants causeway and appreciated the electric bus taking us back up the hill. The driver was very informative, and gave us good advice about the attractions. We found it preferable to take a lunch with us

Beautiful and stressful

Very informative, but guide could have spoken a littlebit slower for those who don´t have english as first language, missed 60% of everything he said. Also when my kid was crying, I tried my best to calm it down, he said he would drop us off in the middle of nowhere. To little time on each and every place what made the tour very stressful. Every place was so beautiful! But we weren´t able to enjoy it because there was only some minutes here and some minutes there, and where we actually had some time, there was this long walk, so compared to what was to see there - there was no time at all. Also he mentioned lots of places to adore during the tour, but did not slow down at all for us to get a better look at it. And the speed was already very high. Busdriver - Paul.

do not go on this tour!

Firstly the driver was rude the whole way could tell he didn’t want to be there, for context im irish catholic, i was very uncomfortable driving down the countless numbers of heavily Loyalist areas but assumed it was part of the tour so tried to ignore it. when the driver “educated” us (on the troubles i’m using educated very loosely) as he made racist comments skipped bloody sunday and easter rising and spoke only of loyalist “victories” then said they will never surrender northern ireland to england, went through two catholic area which he openly slagged off the whole way. Used the N slur at one point, told the coach to ignore the Palestinian flag in the catholic area his reasoning was that they stole land from england? made me and my partner genuinely worry for our safety for most of the trip. If roles reversed i’d say the same thing as i think these tours should be neutral as there is enough hate in Ireland than there needs to be, overall he made everyone uncomfortable and even left a couple at the dark hedges.

Amazing tour experience

Fantastic day out that made me fall in love with Ireland even more!! Driver was informative and had lots of funny stories. Bus was clean and comfortable. Happy with the amount of time given at each site. Loved it definitely highly recommend

Giant Causeway Day Trip from Belfast

The trip was good , but the live commentary was not at all good. Could not understand what the driver was explaining due to poor audio quality . Also the the The Hedges hotel where we stopped for the lunch was not good and the toilets were obstructed ( no water in WC) and the staff was extremely rude. Will not recommend this place to the visitors . Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed the trip and the scenic beauty!!

Take another tour option

This tour was run by “Allan’s Tour Bus”Hot day, no AC, you could not properly hear driver talk, speakers were all static, a couple asked for a refund, the bus Company told them they had to find their own way back if they wanted a refund - they refused so they were driven to police station. The whole bus full of people had to sit on side of road.while they worked this out at police station- Very bad experience.

Easy, hassle free enjoyable way to see Northern Ireland!

Excellent tour!! Our driver had great commentary, was very funny, and kept the tour on schedule all day. Bus was nice and clean and we enjoyed our day immensely. Much easier than driving up to Giant’s Causeway as traffic is heavy and parking lot was full. Highly recommend this tour, very hassle free way to see some amazing sights!

Amazing Tour, Great Craic and Service

We got married in Belfast but live in America, so had a lot of American guests come to our wedding. We treated our out of town guests to a trip up the causeway and it was amazing, beautiful scenery, great banter with the driver, and lots of photo stops. Everyone raved about the tour, couldn't recommend the experience any better.

Coach was old and dirty,...

Coach was old and dirty, no air con. Stopping at a pub with inflated prices for over an hour didn’t feel like a good use of time.

Overbooked tour

The tour bus was overbooked so the only seat available was the front with the driver. It was in the direct sun for which I cannot sit in for 7hrs. I got off the tour at the first stop and took a city bus back to Belfast. This was a horrible experience and I'd like my money back.

Trip was very nice, we going with 4 years old which must be free but we need to buy an extra ticket, and after all day driver think 7 people in the wrong bus, Not nice experience.

Brilliant Tour

So happy we booked this tour with this company! The price was amazing for the amount we got to see and do. The driver (Lesley) was knowledgeable and very funny, and shared some information to save us money on the trip (very handy!) The bus was comfortable, and I felt that we got enough time in each location. Brilliant tour!

Tour good , but timing should be made better for each stop

Good locations to see on this tour , but it was supposed to start at 9.30, left 10.00, meaning schedule was behind all day , plus dropping off people to cruise ship made the return even later…. Meant we were dropped off some way from our pick up point nr bus station and missed our connection so it cost us a lot more to get home … overall the tour was ok but passengers are not helped At returning points , as advertised

A Must-See Location ♡

If you can schedule in this trip to Northern Ireland, you must. It is an astonishing abd scenic view, so stunning it's enough to take your breath away. I recommend going when the weather is dry and sunny, during May - August for the best experience.

Great tour

Had a great time at the causeway tour organized by the hotel we stayed in. Tour driver was very funny and very informative. Stopped at a lot of great spots and sat on the side of the bus which give coastal views on the route to the causeway. The café we stopped at for lunch was excellent. Definitely recommend for your stay in Belfast.

Best day out

Absolutely amazing day out I was meant to go with a friend but they were too sick so I thought I would do it myself and am so glad I did. So informative and the scenery was brilliant I made a few friends the same day especially the driver he really looked after everyone all day and the lunch was beautiful ❤️ definitely worth a trip hopefully next time my friend will come as they missed an exciting day up the coast

Good value

The bus had air conditioning problem so the bus driver went to change buses. That put us about 30 mins behind schedule. Other than that it was a good excursion overall Ben, the bus driver and tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny. We did get back to the ship on time. Can recommend.

Rushed at all three points of interest

Not enough time at any one of three stops. Suggest half hour at first stop, castle, to experience the ambience; 1-1/2 hrs at second stop for full lunch if wanted and long walk to beech avenue; two hours at the stones.
