Sagrada Familia Guided Tour with Optional Tower Upgrade

Amazing colour and design in this beautiful church

Our visit to this beautifully colourful church was wonderful. Entering first thing in the morning, the sun coming through the windows cast beautiful colour onto the interior column. The church was also not too busy. Our guide Ara (?) was passionate in her knowledge about the history of the church.

Disappointing

My friend lost her passport the day of the tour and we had to deal with that immediately. That meant that unfortunately we were unable to attend the tour. There was no availability on any other day while we were in Barcelona. We were told we could not get a refund.

Good tour

We are glad we did this tour as we couldn’t have gotten into the Sagrada familia otherwise. However, we couldn’t understand what our guide was talking about. It wasn’t his accent; his words were like phrases that were strung together that didn’t make any sense. I would still do it just to get into the church which is magnificent.

Friendly and very knowledgeable tour guide

Paula was a great tourguide! She was so knowledgeable but also approachable with questions. I learned so much about Sagrada Familia and Gaudi’s life through her. (I would just comment that the mic wasnt the best so some sounds were muffled some times)

Awesome Sagrada Familia tour with Robert

We had a wonderful tour of Sagrada Familia!! Our guide Robert was very knowledgeable, and he made it so interesting we wished his tour could last 2-3x longer! What a beautiful time. 10/10 recommend.

Great guide

Our guide Marc, was very knowledgeable about the history and meaning surrounding Sagrada Familia. He moved a group of 25 efficiently and was excellent at explaining the details and relevance of each element. I would definitely recommend him as a guide.

There are no words. The cathedral just blew our minds. So glad we did the optional upgrade of Going up to the Tower. Coming down was quite an experience. Our guide Marc was brilliant.

Beyond beautiful, a must see in Barcelona

Our guide whose name is difficult to pronounce, something like Orancía. She is a wonderful guide, so knowledgeable and kind. Sagrada Familia is definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Barcelona. Then we went up the tower and walked down 400 steps. The views are spectacular!

Sagrada Familila Guided Tour

We really enjoyed our tour of Sagrada Familia, and learning about the history of building it, as well as lots of interesting tidbits from our guide! Seeing the inside was breathtaking, with all the beautiful colors of stained glass and the architecture. It was nice not to have to stand in line to purchase tickets and going through security was quick & easy. We met our guide pretty early (9:15 am), so the crowds weren't as bad as later in the day (but it was still pretty busy!). I am giving it 4/5 since I wish the tour was a little longer. The tower tour was not available at the time we booked this experience, so it is best to book early!

Good tour guide, bad busy crowd experience

Our tour guide Ara was very friendly and passionate as a Catalan native. I booked this tour at the last minute when all tickets have been sold out at other tour operators. This was one of the few times where I felt like I didn't get my money's worth due to the overcrowdedness of the Sagrada Familia with it being on the Labor Day holiday May 1. I wasn't able to appreciate both the church exterior and interior with so many people there. I liked that we were given earbuds to listen to Ara speak through the tour, but it was overwhelming crowd wise.

Great Tour of the Sagrada Familia, perfect amount of time

Great tour with Miguel. He is from Catalonia and was a great tour guide. He provided a lot of interesting information about the Sagrada Familia , history and the area. We all really enjoyed it.

Don't miss guided tour

This is a don't miss tour. The tour gets you inside much faster and provides information related to the history of the architect and structure. Our tour guide, Mark, was very helpful and provided a history of the building, explanation of the facades, future build and other things to see on the premises before leaving. There is a crypt below, if you can get in it, and Gaudi is buried there. There is a sanctuary museum and a school museum before you exit the property. The tour was just over an hour but provided all the relevant history regarding Gaudi, funding, the design and facades, etc. I highly recommend the short guided tour.

Don't Be 5 Minutes Late!!!

I was booked for a tour on Saturday, April 20 for the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Unfortunately, I made a mistake and we arrived at the tour 5 minutes late. The tour was already gone, and since I had no way to contact the guide directly, it took a few more minutes to locate the number and contact City Wonders. By that time, I was told that there was absolutely nothing that could be done. The phone representative said that she could not call the guide, we could not meet the guide at that point, there was no possibility for a refund, and that the only thing she could do would be to rebook for a fee, but since there were no other tours available for the next week, that was not possible. While I completely understand cancelling and refund policies and I take ownership of my mistake, I was appalled that a mere 5 minute delay would mean forfeiting an entire experience of an expensive tour. When trying to navigate a city, it is perfectly reasonable that people might make mistakes and sometimes arrive late. For example, I went on a much more accommodating tour the following day. I arrived early, but another couple was late, so the guide politely asked us all if we didn't mind waiting and she would call the couple directly. Having direct contact with the guide and allowing some leeway was, for me, the professional and accommodating thing to do.

Visit was great

The inspection of the cathedral went according to plan. The tour guide was able to catch one’s attention and was even cracking some jokes. He could build on the visitors’ nationalities and provide facts and details according to them.

Very cool experience

Sagrada Familia is a must-see in Barcelona (my teens said it was their favorite part of the whole city!), and having a knowledgeable guide like Marc definitely enhanced our experience. The tower visit was a good addition as it let us see some of the outside details up close.

Sagrada Familia

Toured Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain. Great overview of the building and Gaudis vision. Also, visited the small museum after tour. Highly recommend.

Disappointing..

We loved the incredible church. Our tour guide was very kind but it was an English tour and she was very hard to understand . It doesn’t seem appropriate to pay extra for small group and an English tour when we couldn’t understand most of it.

Amazing history and beautiful church!

Great tour and guide! Marc was knowledgeable and we enjoyed learning about La Segrada Familia. Marc pointed out the various facades and the design differences and changes throughout. I recommend taking the 4 pm tour for a colorful surprise!

Visit!

This was a great tour. Make the Sagrada Familia a stop during your visit to Barcelona. Miguel did a great job and I would happily take a tour from him again.

Very crowded but good experience overall. Liked the site but too many people in it made it difficult to hear everything the guide said.

Overall, great tour and guide but too accommodating to two guests who missed their earlier tour. As a result, it felt like our tour was a bit rushed.

Very good way to visit Sagalrada Familia

Very interesting tour. Miguel from City Wonder Barcelona was competent, easy going, funny and told many interesting i formations about Sagrada Familia - its story and details. Thanks to him I saw a lot of things that I would skip. If you want to stay longer inside the cathedral it is better to choose earlier hours of visiting - I had my reservation at 16:00 and sadly I had to leave after about two hours because cathedral was open till 18:00. I highy recomend both - City Wonders Barcelona and Miguel the Guide!

Great tour!

Great Tour! Miguel was an amazing tour guide and the tour was about 45 minutes and you can stay as long as you want afterwards! Meeting point was easy to find! Go in the morning or afternoon on a sunny day for best lighting inside!

An stress-free and informative small group tour

An easy entrance to the Sagrada Familia with Miguel, who offered some great basic information and history about this amazing wonder of the world! After a nice presentation, both outdoors and indoors, we were free to spend as much time as we liked there afterwards. We had tried to buy tickets too late, but by taking this tour we were able to get in at a time that was best for us and saved us from missing out! Couldn’t have been easier, at what appeared to be a stressful situation without a guide! The small group also allowed Miguel to give some personalized facts that related to our people, which was meaningful. He knew so much about the SF.. Thanks Miguel for taking care of our group.

A must see when visiting Barcelona. The best way is with a tour guide and skip the line. Our guide was very knowledgeable!

Fantastic tour! A must!

Our guide Miguel was wonderful! His personality and his way to tell a story about the cathedral is great. The meeting site was easy to find. It was very smooth entry into La Sagrada Familia. No waiting in long lines. The headsets were essential to hear our guide. We appreciated and learned a lot about La Sagrada Familia. Beautiful church. My daughter and I did the tower tour while my mom stayed in the main cathedral and shop. You do need to be able to do a lot of steps. But if you can, it is worth it. Definitely want to return again and maybe go to Mass there. I would definitely recommend taking this tour.

Viator is a scam

Viator is a scam! Arriving at the site, there was no place to exchange the “coupons “ for tickets. Such a disappointment for us. And a waste of money. Don’t use this scamming “service”!

Must see

The tour itself was very interesting and the guide knowledgeable. There was about a 30 minute delay due to the office not confirming tickets with the guide (not her fault) - hopefully a one-time problem but I would factor in an extra thirty minutes.

An okay tour which shoukd have been so much better considering where we were

The tour went for less than 1 hour and we feel for the price it was not long enough. The outside of the Sagrada Familia was explained more in-depth than the inside. The inside had so much detail and wow factor but not a great deal was explained. We have been on many guided tours and this tour left us disappointed.

Misleading map

Map provided to meet showed meeting place opposite Park. But not showing 2 parks. We searched an area opposite wrong park and missed tour. This should be sorted for future travellers.

Amazing experience

If you are in Barcelona, this is definitely something you should see up close as well as inside the church. Marc was our tour guide and was extremely knowledgeable regarding the history and architecture of this magnificent building. This is something that I will never forget!!!

Great Sagrada Familia tour!

The Sagrada Familia tour with Marc was great. His storytelling on Gaudi’s work as well as Christianity in general was on point. He spoke perfect English too! This tour is a great way for people to understand the building they are visiting without feeling overwhelmed with information.

Tour on your own for Sagrada Familia

Unfortunately, it was a very unnecessary tour-guided event. The guide himself was nice, but not necessary. You should visit it, BUT you should just buy the tickets yourselves, including the ticket to the tower. That way you can do the tour as you would like, in your own time. You don’t get any additional information that is added by the tour guides that you pay for on TripAdvisor. I would not recommend.

Amazing access to a modern basilica deaign

The tour left on time from the designated meeting point that was east to find. Miguel was very insightful. I highly recommend this tour as a way to skip the massive lines. We spent ~20 minutes in the basilica before the people climbing the tour departed with the tour guide. That was adequate time in the basilica . Note that access to the crypt where Gaudi is entombed is only available at 7 pm during evening services.

Another church. Beautiful architecture, but at its core,another church.

Yes this is a church with incredible architecture inside and out, but if you have no interest in the religious aspects of the tour, we were looking at our watches after 15 or 20 minutes. We would suggest viewing it from the outside, and reading about the Gaudi involvement on your own.

Breathtaking!

Margarita was a terrific guide and made getting through a popular destination much easier. The Sagrada Família is worth the price of admission and so much more. It is amazing and any pictures do not do it justice. The tour was full of wonderful information.

Never Use Trip Advisor to Book.

Your booking/voucher system was a fail. We missed the tour by minutes because we could not find the meeting point on the street in time. Tour company had no kiosk, sign, or representative at the meeting point--we were only minutes late. Will never use Trip Advisor again to book. We would like a refund.

Awful

So we got there at 9.15 am and tge guide had already left without us despite tour starting at 9.15 am They had no further availability today so we had to buy tickets elsewhere that cost €116 for 2 people I asked for a refund was told would have to email!! Not a happy bunny 😓🥵

We've been to Sagrada...

We've been to Sagrada Familia in 2012 and 2018, and now in 2023. This visit with Ana was very memorable. Although there was more construction outside, inside there was less noise and disruption as well as fewer people. With our excellent well-informed guide, we especially appreciated this visit. We also were able to ascend to the towers, which was breath-taking as well as challenging--especially the descent clinging to the metal framing and incomplete railing. Bucket list checkoff!
