Great experience – amazing sights, fantastic tour guide

This trip was wonderful! The driver (James) was a very knowledgeable, professional, and personable guide. He organized all the logistics with us in advance, was very flexible and helpful with tailoring the activities and timing to our interests, and took us to a number of unique sites along the way to and from Monserrat.

Luxurious, informative, and very friendly chore!

James is an amazing tour guide! He showed us things we found very interesting along the way, and was very good with precise directions on where to go when we got there. He was very friendly and the Mercedes van was a very comfortable beautiful ride! I highly recommend

Beautiful views

We had a great half day tour. James picked us up on time and drove us to Monserrat. On arrival he explained how & where to get tickets for the funicular and suggested an easy but scenic walk we could enjoy once at the top. He had pre booked our tickets for the church visit. And when we had finished he picked us up at the point he dropped us off. He gave us some interesting information along the drive. We had a great time. It was a beautiful place. V scenic. The route down from the funicular was long but was a clear path (mostly gravel). We went over our time slot but it was worth the extra cost!

Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey

The car was comfortable; the views were wonderful. We took way too many photos. One member of our party had mobility issues due to a recent knee replacement, and he was able to participate fully in our experience. The Basilica was beautiful and the experience of seeing the Black Madonna was very moving. Jaime Gassol, our driver, was very knowledgeable about the area and the history. We did not complete everything we wanted to do within our allotted time and paid Jaime for an additional two hours of his time --well worth every cent!

Great visit to Montserrat with James

James was really easy to communicate with before we arrived Barcelona and during our stay. He arrived on time at our hotel and we headed to Montserrat at our scheduled time. He arranged tickets for us to the Madonna while the choir was singing, it was beautiful. James was great!

Knowledgeable Montserrat your and airport transfer

We were on a 2 day visit to Barcelona so had time constraints. We booked Jame’s via the Viator app for a private transfer and tour of Montserrat. James was extremely punctual, reliable and professional. He messaged the night before to confirm the arrangements, was able to book the tickets in advance to avoid the queues. James provided good local knowledge to make out 2 day stay as efficient as possible. We would highly recommend Jame’s.

The best Montserrat tour!

My wife and I had the privilege of touring Llopart (a boutique winery) and Montserrat Monastery in Catalonia, Spain with Auto Drivers and our guide James and what a treat! James is professional, dynamic, and passionate about his country and showing it off! He’s a knowledgeable guide who knows the area extremely well and an expert in the history and culture as well. He’s also a skilled driver who navigated the dangerous roads with confidence and ease. The comfort of the private vehicle cannot be understated. Our highlight was the flexibility of the tour. Unlike crowded tours, our private experience allowed us to detour to some special places - arguably some of the most beautiful all of Spain while lingering and taking it all in! Plus - James offered lots of tips and insights as to how to maximize the experience. Our tour was a delight from start to finish and I would highly recommend James.

Memorable day at Monserrat

The tour to Monserrat was one of our favorite days of our trip. James was a great tour guide and was very ready to communicate with leading up to and during our trip. He drove us to Monserrat providing us interesting info on our drive about Monserrat and Barcelona. Our trip included children and grandparents and he navigated our needs with compassion. After a morning of hiking and touring the monastery, we added on extra time to stop of lunch. It was the best decision! It ended up being our favorite meal of our entire trip! Amazing!! Would definitely recommend this to trip!

Excellent Driver

James was an excellent driver and gave us much information about Monserrat and the monastery. We were more amazed by the mountain than the monastery! If I were to do it again, I would get a guide to accompany us into the monastery and grounds.

Montserrat Private Tour

My wife and I had a great time in traveling and visiting Montserrat. James reached out to us a few days before our tour and also secured tickets to listen to the choir and enter the church's be able to see up close the Virgin Mary. On the way to Montserrat, we stopped a few times on various sites that have great views of Montserrat and the Catalan countryside. He also recommended to make sure to try Mato cheese while in the monastery. Going back, we took a different for another great countryside vista. He was also very accommodating in my request to do a very quick stop to take a quick snap at Camp Nou. Thank you so much James!

Outstanding views! A must do when in Barcelona!

James was awesome! We had a fabulous day with him. The views were totally breathtaking! Like many that left reviews- we simply didn’t have enough time. We would highly recommend James and the Private Tour.

Beautiful Montserrat

"Private Half Day Tour in Monserrat with Driver" was a wonderful experience. James is an excellent tour guide, professional, courteous, with a wealth of knowledge on the history of Barcelona and Montserrat. He thoughtfully asked us what we wanted to get out of our tour, and made sure we were satisfied. We heard the famous Boy Choir (L'Escolania) and the Black Madonna - and the views! Wow! Only regret is we didn't have more time when in Barcelona, or we would have made this a longer tour, to explore more & hike around Montserrat. Highly recommend!

We had Adriano and Adrian as our guides. Adriano is very informative and made accommodations on our likes. It was worth the private half day tour.

Easy, Fun Tour

James was wonderful. He had the tour very well planned, his explanation of what we were seeing on our way to Montserrat, as well as when we got there was interesting and informative. We had about 75 minutes to tour on our own which was the perfect amount of time. He offered to drop us off for lunch and took us to a great tapas bar full of locals. One of the best meals we had in Barcelona and we wouldn’t have known about if not for James. Highly recommend this tour!

Great Tour!

James was a great driver and tour guide. He knew a lot about the area and stopped at a couple of places on the way to Montserrat for pictures. He also booked us early morning tickets to La Moreneta. We went right in and avoided the crowds. We were also given enough free time to go up the funicular and take some pictures up on the mountain and back down. We enjoyed this tour and would recommend to family & friends.

We booked the half day with hotel pickup with Viator. It was easy, Miquel was prompt, very fun and knowledgeable and made it easy. He is a conscientious driver too.

On time, clean new car, friendly, coherent, fluent, knowledgeable, prompt communication, discloses charges and conditions upfront, no hidden charges, accommodates to your convenience, gave clear directions on what to do and where to go while attending attractions. What else a tourist, who is the foreign country and does not know what to do and where to go can wish for??? James even gave his jacket to my wife because the weather was cold. Montserrat Visit

We had a great day with James driving from Barcelona to Montserrat. He was very communicative to make sure our expectations were met. He was able to secure advance tickets for our viewing of the Black Madonna, so we were able to skip a very long like. James is friendly and very knowledgeable about the area and the culture. He made sure we stopped at some great photo spots, too. To top it off, we shared a fabulous lunch before he dropped us off at the airport after our tour. Great experience. Highly recommend.
