Outstanding tour of Sagrada Familia

Our tourgiide's knowledge, enthusiasm and engaging personality made the visit to Sagrada Familia exciting and memorable. I enjoyed his ability to not only point out the many many exquisite details of the church but also explain them and provide spiritual Context.

Terrible terrible

While we were already in Barcelona, less than 24 hours before our tour, we got a notification that our tour had been significantly changed. We were supposed to get transportation from Sagrada Familia to Park Guell and have both tours together. However, the transportation was removed and our Park Guell tour was moved several hours later than planned. We had no choice but to accept this change as there were no more tickets available for Park Guell to purchase on our own before we were leaving Barcelona. We had other tours planned for that day and so we had to rush to get to Park Guell, running to make it in time. We were only a few minutes late, however we missed the group and were denied entry to the park. We made these tour plans months in advance and one day’s notice of a complete change is unacceptable. Customer service did not care at all when we contacted them over the phone, and didn’t even reply to our email. A terrible trip experience.

Great Descriptions

Seeing the interior of the Basilica and the beautiful stained glass. I sat in a pew and prayed and felt so peaceful.

Sagrada Familia

The tour for the Sagrada Familia was great. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and her English was very easy to understand. They changed the park guell to another day and we couldn't make it. They said we would get a refund for that portion.

Gaudi!!!

Both guides today were so well informed. Both Segrada Familia and Park Guell are amazing places. Gaudio was a genius.

Avoid avoid avoid

What happened to Charlotte in the previous review is EXACTLY what happened to me. Even down to asking the tour guide where the meeting point at Parc Guell was and her being quite short and unhelpful. It literally was like she was punishing me for not having paid extra for the transport. I had to ring the provider which obviously cost me in foreign charges and, having walked to Parc Guell myself, it turned out I was at the wrong entrance and only had 15 minutes to rush to the correct meeting point. The Sagrada tour was OK but felt quite rushed and I found it quite difficult to understand the guide. The Parc Guell tour (once I got there!) was fine as well but certainly not worth the extortionate cost. I contacted Amigo Tours to complain and request a partial refund and all I got in response was 'Unfortunately we are unable to proceed with the refund, as the tour operated normally and without any problems. We will send you the detailed meeting point by email, with or without transportation booking.' I then contacted GetYourGuide who I booked through and they said they had the same response from the provider but as a goodwill gesture they (GYG not Amigo) offered a partial refund. AVOID AMIGO they are rude, unhelpful and do not care about the customer at all!

Terrible communication, rude and unhelpful staff, expensive and disappointing experience

Poor communication and information from Amigo tours. Rude unhelpful staff. The tour itself was fine but I won't be booking with Amigo again thanks to the poor service. We booked a guided tour of Sagrada Familia and Park Guell (without transport). We knew we would have to make our own way to Park Guell since our package did not include transport, however the information in our booking details only gave a meeting point and time for the first part of the tour which was Sagrada Familia. We thought this would be fine as we could just ask the tour guide for this information once we got their. At the end of the Sagrada Familia tour we asked our guide Svetlana where and when we needed to meet at Park Guell so we could get there. She said she didn't know and that we needed to look at the booking information. We told her the information was not provided. She then gave our details to someone at the Amigo office and told us they would contact us to let us know. We waited for a while but didn't receive any message so called the office ourselves as we were worried about missing the second part of the tour. The man on the phone told us there would be a taxi to pick us up at 11.30 and gave us the meeting point for the taxi. I asked him if he was sure this was correct since our package didn't include transport but he said yes and told us to go to the meeting point. We would have liked to spend more time at Sagrada Familia but didn't want to miss the second part of the tour so rushed to make the 11.30 meeting with the taxi. We waited until at least 11.45 at the taxi meeting spot with no taxi arriving so called the office again and were told not to worry, the taxi was coming soon. After waiting a while longer we saw the guide, Svetlana arrive so went to talk to her. She seemed frustrated with us saying that we had to make our own way their since our ticket didn't include transport. We told her we were aware of this but had called the office and were simply following the instructions they had given us. She told us to hail our own taxi and ask it to follow her taxi so we tried doing this but the taxi driver didn't understand so we went back to Svetlana who was increasingly impatient with us, asking why we hadn't hailed our own taxi. We explained and asked if she could tell us the meeting point for Park Guell so we could instruct the taxi. She told us that it's very difficult to find the meeting point so she couldn't do this. She was rude and unhelpful but ultimately did hail a taxi for us and explain in Spanish for them to follow her taxi. We got there in the end and the tour itself was fine but we were incredibly unimpressed with the way we were treated. We later checked the reviews and found many others have had similar experiences. It is clear that Amigo tours doesn't care what your experience is like once you have already booked and paid for your tickets. At the second point we even heard Svetlana say that she hoped the whole group wouldn't turn up. Disappointing experience, stay away from Amigo Tours.

Fun and easy option

Great tour, very educational and well explained. Very nice and available tour guides with great knowledge of the monuments and history of such. Loved the professionalism. I would certainly recommend :)

Park Güell with Amigos Tours, A+++

We accessed Park Güell with Amigos Tours via Go City tickets. We were sceptical as it was a time-specific walking tour, and we'd read some negative feedback on Trip Advisor. This tour was one of the highlights of my family's trip to Barcelona. The tour guide was terrific; he was so knowledgeable and a lovely person. I would recommend this tour to everybody, you really won't be disappointed.

We were expecting a smaller group The Sagrada Familia part of the tour was good. The Park Guell portion gives this review a lower rating. We were put in 4-5 separate taxis and taken to a place to meet near Park Guell. Did not follow the description of commentary along the way of different sights. Left alone on a street corner with no instructions of what to do. When we saw your guide we joined 30 more people. Not a small tour.

Do this one on your own

The attractions are of course amazing but the organization was horrible. We spent 45 min at the beginning for La Familia to get started. The guide was good. and then we spent 1.5 hrs in the middle transferring and waiting for Park Guell. The guide at Park Guell microphone didn’t work which made it difficult to hear and when we did it was not very interesting. A real disappointment. I suggest doing these two on your own. Taxis will drop you right at the entrance and audio guides are likely better.

Excellent Tour of Gaudi

La Sagrada Familia & Park Guell were amazing. Our tour guides were friendly and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour with this company!!

Well worth it

Excellent tour guy. One think that I wish is not to mix English and Spanish language. Bring water if it is hot outside.

So disappointed

I was 5 minutes late for the meetup because I went the wrong direction on the Metro. They did not wait for me and I was not allowed in. All other tours I have been on the guide has waited 10 or more minutes for any stragglers. I tried to catch up with the second half of the tour, walking a long way, and did not get to the correct entrance to Park Guell. It was a crushing disappointment.

Hands off from this agency

NEVER again with Amigo Tours... :-( We had bought an Explorer Pass from Go City. They tell you you can chose from 50 attractions. Once bought, you recognise that e.g. for Park Güell you have to make a reservation to get in because it is only a guided tour. If you just want to see the park on your own, there is no way to get in, you will not get the ticket for entrance alone. The tour guide from Amigo Tours has obviously a group ticket and no single tickets per person. Unfortunately, we stuck in the traffic and were late. We called them and they said we shall go directly to the entrance, but our taxi driver was not quick enough and did not find it immediately so we were too late and the guide did not wait. I called again Amigo Tours asking for the ticket just to get in. I thought they could deposit them at the entrance counter and we can join the tour guide later, but they said, it is not possible to reach the guide during the tour because the phone is switched off and they have only group tickets, so they cannot deposit. I acknowledged the situation. They were not helpful at all nor customer focused or at any solution interested. They said we can either book with them directly or use the Go City Explorer Pass but they need a new QR Code, whatever that meant, it was not clear at that moment to me. Since I still had some attraction left on our pass we decided to book again Park Güell and it worked for the reservation. That was on Sunday 30th April. On 1st May I got a call saying they cannot take our reservation with the same QR Code. They explained me that their system needs another QR code but funny enough the reservation worked out. Long story short, I got in contact with Go City and asked them to sort this out with Amigo Tours. Amigo Tours seemed not to be willing to co-operate and withdraw the first booking and use the bloody QR code for the second booking. It was a nightmare, we have been discussing and discussing..... I work in the service industry and I know what customer focused and solution oriented means..... THAT WAS NOTHING OF ALL OF THAT!!! Finally, we did not book directly through Amigo Tours because we had to pay again and we did not buy another pass or attraction at Go City. At least Go City seemed to be willing to find a solution with us in terms of offering a refund of 10%. Go City were also in contact with Amigo Tours trying to sort this out but unsuccessful. Regarding Sagrada Familia obviously there are different capacities it varies where you bought your ticket. At the official ticket counter in front of Sagrada we would have been able to book but without the towers, here you have to book very early in advance. However, the Explorer Pass was not valid there and we would have to buy additional tickets and would have still the attraction on our Explorer Pass which we initially wanted to use. As a recommendation... buy your tickets at the official websites separately (more expensive but worth) and book any tours early enough. For some attractions you have to book a time slot even though you go your own way without guided tour.... This was not the most relaxing city trip, too many uncertainties and surprises....

Mixed review

Our tour guide was wonderful;; informative, engaging and upbeat personality. The tour group size however was too large and there was too much time wasted waiting around.

Expected better

Too much time wasted getting the group organized, especially before Park Guell. Guide was informative but a little hard to understand at times due to accent and microphone issue. Security required EVERYTHING out of pockets and belts removed. Next time it may be better to visit the sites on my own.

Good content, Terrible organization

We were told to meet the guide at a specific location. When I arrived, there was no one there, so I requested assistance from a guide with another company. He told me that the Amigo Tour was meeting inside the Emporio store around the corner. When I arrived, there was no guide and no one in the group knew for sure if this was the right place to meet. Eventually the guide showed and we headed off into two groups. My Tour Guide was David. When we arrived at La Sagrada Familia, we learned that the company sent him only 10 tickets and that there were a total of 11 of us. David informed us that one of us would be unable to enter the building. He left us standing for 45 minutes in the cold and wind while he tried to resolve the issue. The entire group was getting quite upset knowing that someone had to drop out. When David returned, one couple agreed to voluntarily drop out so that the rest of us could join the tour. Sagrada Familia was amazing, but I felt that David walked us through the interior very quickly and that we spent more time outside viewing the facades. He was quite informative. To get to Park Guell, we had to wait for taxis. They didn't have their own transportation. At PG, our new guide was Sylvia, who did a very nice job of explaining Gaudi's work. Again, I felt that it was rushed. I feel that we should all be partially reimbursed for the stress and inconvenience we experienced.

This tour was excellent! The guides were extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Sagrada Familia and Park Guell showcase Gaudi's best works, and this tour immersed us in Barcelona culture and history.

Terrible experience with Amigo Tours

Amigo tours overbooked us and others on this tour after canceling an am tour (they said the cathedral was closed in am when in fact it was not) the day before and then rebooking everyone in the pm for a morning tour and overbooking the afternoon tour. Some were not rebooked at all and were leaving that day and never got their tour. Amigo left the tour guides, who do not work for them, to deal with the situation. The guides ended up negotiating with the cathedral to let all participants in, Amigo told them to have some people wait for next tour Also the tour is advertised as 5.5 hours when in reality it was about 3 hours and two hours of waiting. Needless to say Amigo failed us and others in multiple ways on this trip. They sent us a cancellation to our what’s app when all prior communication was via email, so we initially missed it and had to call to get everything straightened out for rebooking. After doing this, they still didn’t recognize us for second tour…..

Tour Guide very Knowledgeable

Manu, our tour guide was fantastic and enthusiastic. She accommodated our needs and answered all our questions. She went above and beyond. Very informative tour, highly recommend this tour.

Park Guell and Sagrada Familia Tour in Barcelona

The guides knowledge of Park Guell and Sagrada Familia certainly made the visit memorable. The visit would not have meant much without the background provided by the guides. Both sites certainly worth visiting.

Most unprofessional throughout Europe

I booked a Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell tour through GYG. On the morning of the tour it was very hard to find a taxi to get us to the meeting point even though we took a 40 min time buffer for a 10 min ride. Seeing that, I wrote an e-mail to the agency notifying them that we might be a few minutes late and to tell me if they can wait or we have to rebook. No answear was given. At 9:27, 3 min before and in the taxi around the corner, I wrote again an e-mail saying that we will be there within 5 min. No answear. At the meeting point after discussing to other tour guides we did not find our group. I called the agency at 9:39 to ask where is the group. I was announced that the guide entered the Sagrada Familia and it is not possible for them to reach him because he is closing his phone during the tour. The receptionist started to explain that they cannot deal with every ocurring situation and that I have lost the tour and the money. It seemed very dismissive. I then insisted that we at least get the Parc Guell tour and she accepted. Somehow, she could reach the guide to let him know that we would join the group at the end... The second part of the tour was delivered nicely by Marc, but it looks like the company's attitude towards our situation was unprofessional even though diplomatic. It seems that the Amigos Tours usually dismisses the clients and I believe that more could have been done to come to a resolution. For example, I proposed to join the tour in one of the next 6 days and was told that they are fully booked. I checked their calendar through GetYourGuide and I found availability.

The experience was amazing which was made even more so by our wonderful guide, Sara. Having a guide was great, S she provided much greater information than just reading the placards in the basilica

Park Güell & Sagrada Familia Tour with Clara

This past weekend my friend and I took this tour and Clara was our tour guide. My friend and I were very excited to visit these two very popular spots in Barcelona and everything lived up to our expectations that day. As a fellow tour guide myself back in Canada, Clara was a fantastic guide. She used the perfect amount of knowledge and humour to make the tour entertaining and interesting. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Barcelona!

Wonderful combined tour of Park Guell and Sagrada Familia

My wife and I and our adult daughter really enjoyed our tour of Park Guell and Sagrada Familia led by our guide Clara. She not only gave us a interesting information but she was very enthusiastic and knowledgable. We are originally from the US and are learning to speak spanish. Clara spoke english for us but also spoke spanish for the rest of the group which made the tour especially beneficial for us to practice our spanish listening skills. The tour took us through the amazing Park Guell and then we took a small bus and went to the unbelievable Sagrada Familia. We were given an hour for lunch and found a great restaurant nearby and then began the tour at the Basilica. Clara again demonstrated her knowledge of the history of the building and it’s construction and Antonio Gaudi by conducting an informative tour and pointing out some amazing details of the structure. We had done a tour of Sagrada Familia a year ago with a different tour group and felt the tour we took with Clara was far superior than that tour had been. I would highly recommend this tour and especially Clara as your guide.

Very informative

Clara was an excellent tour guide and did a great job with the challenge of presenting the tour information in both English and Spanish. She knew her stuff and was able to move our group of 26 along very well all afternoon. We would recommend the tour with Clara! The bus transportation between the park and cathedral was very comfortable and convenient.

Recommended

The Park Guell part was a little bit boring, and lacking substance in general, but the Sagrada Familia one was absolutely great. Overall, recommended! We toured with Clara :)

Lovely places

My family and I really enjoyed visiting these two beautiful places. So much to take in, lots of stunning architectural features and so much to explore. Gaudi designed state of the art monuments.

Overall experience at Park Guell

It was a lovely historical visit. The weather at that time of the year absolutely gorgeous. At Park Guell, it was really crowded but you still felt the quiet. Amazing gardens, freakishly pretty buildings. The staff seemed to be overwhelmed by the crowd and as a result they were slightly snappish and not that helpful. Only the lady in the house was really professional and pleasant. Explaining the magical nature of the build. Well done. Saddest part of the visit was that once you exited the paid section of the park, you aren’t allowed to come back in. It just dampened the enjoyment of the park for us. The park journey is broken and as a result we ended up not fully seeing all areas Book online to avoid queues. Massive queues!!!!!

Park Guell and Sagrada Familia

We really enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide was excellent. It was a bilingual tour English/Spanish. She did a wonderful job going back and forth without losing the other group’s attention. Very informative and beautiful sights. I would recommend this tour.

How cool is this Park? WOnderful designs by Gaudi. You do need to be prepared for walking climbing steps, but what a view!! Get your ticket ahead of time on line.

Very bad

Arrived late to Park quell due to the taxi driver's strike and neither Viator nor the other tour agency subcontracted by Viator helped me to find accommodation in another tour. In addition, I was not refunded by Viator.

Bad experience

Our group of four had intructions to meet at the bus station entrance, we arrived there a half hour Early. Waited and waited till 15 minutes after the 7:50 designated time. No one showed up, a family Of four were waiting as well. They phoned the amigo tours and was told too late can’t join tour. We were at wrong gate, kids of family found tour group and we were allowed to join late. Very stressful!,

Everything Gaudi......very...

<p>Everything Gaudi......very informative. Park Guell epitomized how much Gaudi and his vision were ahead of its time. It made me wonder what else he would have given us had he lived. Each pice of his work tells its own story and leaves you in awe.</p>

<p>This was an amazing tour of Antoni Guadi's masterpieces. I'm so glad we booked this tour instead of trying to tour the park and the Basilica on our own. Our tour guide, Sarah, grew up in Barcelona and was a fountain of information about the park, La Sagrada Familia, Antoni Guadi, and Barcelona. We learned so much more than if we had tried to read a tour book or even listen to an audio tour.</p>
