Another architectural gem in Barcelona. Beautiful inside and out. Highlights are the ceiling and the beautiful columns on the balcony. Must be a great place to see a concert. Don't miss this attraction

Enchanting Music Venue

Palau de Musica is absolutely beautiful and definitely worth a visit. It is a very quick visit though, and not necessary to spend more than about an hour. There was no concert or pianist when I was there and that was due to my scheduling. I would certainly recommend if you have the time you try to catch a recital or a concert.

True gem

What a wonderful surprise for something that was not on our original itinerary. The exquisite craftsmanship was unbelievable. Only wish that we could have planned to hear a performance here.

Beautiful concert hall

What a beautiful concert hall. It's not too crowded, you can sit down for a while to take it all in. This city is filled with architectural treasures and this is one of them.

Just beautiful - definitely worth a visit.

I was on the fence about visiting here given the cost, but am so glad that we did. Absolutely stunning building with so many details to take in. No wonder it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We booked tickets for the self guided visit with brochure from the official site about 3 -4 weeks in advance. We opted for the last timed entry of the day and it was not very crowded at all. The whole visit took us about 45 minutes. If your budget allows and you enjoy beautiful architecture, I would recommend.

Could have been organized better

While the narration was good, you need to connect to Palau WiFi in order to access the audio. They should have put a sign with the network name and password instead of everyone asking for it.

Technical Difficulties

Place was beautiful and easily accessible. Had to spend a lot of time trying to get the audiotour to load. I only had 8 hours in Barcelona so eventually I gave up. Luckily I sat beside a tour group and got a little bit of information from their tour guide.

Had trouble connecting to my phone for the self guided tour, but someone helped me do it. The interior was just amazing.

Beautiful experience

Extremely beautiful concert auditorium with fantastic architecture rooted in music and theater history. If you have a genuine interest in history and architecture, the self guided tour is great since you can do it at your own pace and take it all in.

SPAIN THE PLACE TO GO...

Lovely place would return again. Truly love Spain no matter what part its always an adventure. New food, great people, and friendly place to travel too. Enjoy just walking around, stopping at different spots to people watch and have tapas with a local tap beer. This is living and sharing fun times... Will be back at the end of the year!!!

That was expensive

The music hall was very beautiful no doubt but it was just that the hall no other rooms, it cost 19 euros for essentially one view I think 10 euros more like it.

What an experience!

Incredible trip. Really a romantic city and lots to do. Highly recommend. Happy we came. Will visit again. My wife and I felt it was a great trip!

Breathtaking concert hall

This beautiful concert hall is designed in the Catalan modernista style, built 1905-1908. The iron structure incorporated glass walls to allow more light.

I would enjoyed it more with a tour guide. The self guided tour wasn’t very informative But I recommend to visit it

Beautiful breathtaking artistry of Barcelona’s concert hall

The artistry of Barcelona‘a palatial music hall was very impressive. The floral ceiling design and Pegasus columns accenting the stage was breathtaking. I took the self-guided tour in August 2023. The nearest metro station was being repaired so I had to walk and ask for directions. There was a cafe also onsite. The concert hall provides symphony orchestra and flamenco performances.

A music hall not to be missed!

Audio guide was good but the building was fabulous. Staff was helpful as we lost our web connection twice. The explanations were spot on and the actual hall was a site not to be missed. Viator was fast and effecient way to purchase the tickets. No line.

Not for me, if not for free.

I think it would be more worth the price, if visited during a concert. To just come and look at the ornaments and other architecture - yeah, I mean, it's cute and all, but I'd expect this to be a place with free entrance.

Stunning 'Hidden Gem' of Barcelona

See a performance and/or do the tour - I did both and recommend each. Incredible architecture by the Father of Catalan Modermisme (and Gaudi's teacher), Lluís Domènech i Montaner. I used the audio-tour and I loved learning about the building's history and the inspirations for Montaner's architectural choices throughout the building. I purchased the combined ticket (2023 special) with the Recinte Modernisme (which Montaner also designed) and loved both. The Palau Musica is a must for architecture fans and anyone who enjoys live music. Seeing a concert was an added bonus - getting to experience the acoustics and atmosphere of live performance. They also have a nice indoor-outdoor cafe. This is a hidden gem in Barcelona and I highly recommend a visit!

Beautiful Building

Beautiful building. Loved the self guided tour which was easy to navigate. However it was not easy to download.

The dreamer’s Music Box

It is a dream music box! Much bigger it looks like from the outside. Loved the possibility of listening to parts of memorable concerts as they happened there! Loved the exeperience!

Magnificent interior

We were unable to get an English guided tour so we did the self-guided audio tour. The inside of the building is absolutely magnificent and one of our favorite places in Barcelona.

Amazing musica

The venue was amazing . There was a lot to see and my friend and I had a good time. I especially enjoyed the pillars

Music palace full of art and history

This was an amazing self guided audio tour of the fabulous music hall designed by the man who taught Gaudi himself. Informative yet casual as you took in the ambiance and art that surrounded you. We also got to hear the organ play! Nicely decorated area to get a coffee on the first floor. Every staff member was helpful with any assistance you needed.

Must see for Barcelona

Definitely recommend visiting. I booked last minute and so glad I did. I took the self guided audio tour and found the information helpful. The interior was truly amazing and must be seen

First class museum reflective of amazing talent of Catalan heritage. Colors are amazing, daring and bold, stimulating the eye and soul. We waited in line for a bit but, boy, was it worth it!

Beautiful example if Modernism

Such a beautiful place, stunning building inside and out! Tour was very relaxed with plenty of time to look around. Had a coffee in the beautiful cafe before leaving. All in all would highly recommend

Beautiful Place!

Great! The audioguide was very informative and it was a quick tour! We took about an hour to get through the whole thing and we went in the morning so it wasn't crowded at all!

Fantastic place!

This place is exceptional! Ended up staying here way longer than I thought I would. A couple of hints to the visit: The balcony with the colourful pillars are currently under restoration, so you can't go there. Anyway, it is still worth a visit due to the great hall. If you stay and wait for a guided tour to pass, they will start the pipe organ to play for a few minutes. Stay for this!

Impressive interior but poor audio guide, also construction work on the exterior

Very impressive interior. We could not make the best of our visit because: - extremely poor wife service, the audio got stuck repeatedly which made it very difficult to follow - we could not see any of the exterior because it is under construction works - the order of the visit is not properly signaled and we could not figure out exactly what to Listen next on the audio guide - the cafeteria staff is not helpful, very poor English

Stunning interior!

The architecture and amount of detail covering the interior is astonishing! Truly a must-see if you are visiting Barcelona! We did the self-guided tour and were able to get in right away with no wait at about 11 a.m. on a weekday.

Wonderful

Wonderful Gem was a highlight of our trip.

We went in the morning around 10 AM and were fortunate to hear a concert given by the Cologne Band. The exterior is blocked from view due to construction, however the interior alone is breathtaking. The level of detail in the palace is intense. Everywhere are sculpted, tiled, painted features, with incredible stained glass. The acoustics in this gem are amazing. The cafe' was closed when we went. My husband went up all floors. I consider it a must see. It is walking distance from the Barcelona Cathedral, so on planning a day: those 2 would be good to plan in the same day, even the same morning. Morning was a perfect time, no crowds.

Lovely building, self tour less than satisfactory because of technical difficulties.

The Palau was amazing - a do not miss location. The tour was self guided through your own cell phone and although had great information, it was hard to use and the program kept disconnecting. I would have really preferred a live guide and those were available, a much better option to choose.

Beautiful lication

Absolutely beautiful location! A hidden gem in the heart of Barcelona that many tourists miss. We were lucky to hear the organ while on our tour!

Pretty boring, you’re paying basically to see one room. Unless you’re really interested in the history skip this event

The Palau was stunning, however there was a tour but seemed to have already started and we had difficulty accessing the building . so we did not really receive the service that we paid for

Nice way to spend an hour

This music venue is absolutely beautiful to see! The big negative was the audio guide. It was very glitchy and not easy for someone not knowing Spanish to use. Just go and soak it in and not worry about the guide - did not find it gave much info anyway. Also right now the exterior is being completely renovated and you cannot see anything of the facade

One more thing off the bucket list

Easy enough. Go directly to ticket office and they will give you further directions. We scanned the self guide. This was something new but it was relatively easy to access and it worked well. Very interesting building.

Beautiful place in Barcelona

The place is absolutely beautiful and worth the view. However the balcony was closed when I visited, which is a bit disappointing, but still the main room is impressive !

Beautiful Experience

I spent two weeks in Barcelona, and I feel this was the most impressive building I saw (after Sagrada Familia, of course). It's beautifully designed and historically/culturally interesting, with a nice café downstairs (that's open even to non-visitors). It's also not that enormous, so a great visit might take about 90-120 minutes.

Highly recommended and worth the entrance fee. The self guided tour was easy just takes a little bit to prepare on your mobile device.

One of the lost beautiful concert halls in the world

Seeing my first Modernista styled concert hall was an incredible experience. We are attending a flamenco concert here in the next two days. We cannot wait!
