Had an amazing experience. Our tour guide Javi was exceptional! Not only was he very well versed and knowledgable about Montserrat but he was also very friendly. We would highly recommend this tour hopefully you get Javi great time!!

Day at Montserrat

Great half day tour of Monserrat.

Monserrat is beautiful and well worth the visit to get out of the city for a morning. The mountains are spectacular. Javi was a great guide. He has tons of energy and loves what he does. He is very knowledgeable and organizes the tour well. Provided us with 5 options to choose from in our free time to personalize our tour. We drove up the hill which was good for us as I didn’t want to take the Gondola. The half day was enough for us and pick up-drop off option made good use of time.

Great 1/2 day trip from Barcelona

Matt was a great guide , explained all the sites on the way to the main attraction. We liked that our group was only 6 people and we got door to door service.

Small Group Monserrat Tour

Matt was amazing. So friendly and full of knowledge. It was an easy ride and super convenient with pick up and drop off right at our hotel.

Even if the weather doesn’t cooperate

Jose was knowledgeable and accommodating. We had a foggy day and couldn’t enjoy the mountain view, however, we did enjoy the Cathedral and the Museum.

Montserrat Monastery with Teo

Montserrat was absolutely beautiful, Teo made our tour so much more exciting. We had a wonderful day with him. Teo was courteous, helpful, caring, and fun we are for seniors, so we need that extra care that he gave us. Our other companions on the bus felt the same way.

Tour of Montserrat with a Great Tour Guide

My husband and I had a great time on this tour! We really wanted to visit Montserrat, but didn't want it to take up the whole day, so this tour worked out perfectly with pickup at 8:00 and back in town by 13:30. Teo was our guide and he was very personable, a great conversationalist, and informational. (Teo even dropped us off at a recommended restaurant in town instead of back at our hotel so that we didn't have to pay for another taxi).

Perfect half day trip to Monserrat

The views were amazing and our guide Ramon was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The tour was the perfect amount of time - not too long and not to short. Highly recommend taking the venicular up to the top as well (ticket is extra)..

Stunning views

Montserrat tour

Joan was early, we were late but he rose above it and delivered an amazing tour. He has a real passion for Montserrat and had a lot of info for us that you can’t get from a guide book. Really loves the monastery and it showed in his presentation. Know as the professor of Montserrat he had the younger guys bowing to his expertise. We loved it and really enjoyed our time with the olive farmer. We will be back for another trip with Juan or just call me Joan. Thanks Pete

Fun and knowledgable guide!

Javi was great - very knowledgeable! I would recommend him as a tour guide. We had a few hiccups with traffic that was beyond his control, but he was sure to make it up to us. Fun half-day tour!

Great family day trip while in Barcelona

Amazing and informative. Too many times we have visited famous locations and done just the basic audio tour, with disappointing results. Ramon brought this tour to life. Explaining everything from classical to neoclassical to baroque to modern. It was the history class I have been waiting for my whole life. My kid stayed engaged and learned things. Great tour, highly recommended!

Monserrat Experience

Great guide! Very informative. Helped to get us in and out of basilica, gift shops, etc. ahead of the crowds. Vincent knew lots of history and even put an humorous spin on it. Enjoyed the entire experience.

Joan was a great guide and Montserrat is beautiful

We booked a small tour and it was small. Just me, my husband and our 12 & 14 year old kids. Joan was incredibly knowledgeable about Montserrat. He helped guide us to what are the best options to see, as there are many choices. We definitely would not have done half the things without his guidance. He grew up in the area and loved to share his experiences with us. And bonus, we even saw his son who is also a guide while there. It was a very special moment. A few things to note, this trip does not come with a ticket for the black Madonna. You buy that separately while there. Also, if you want to go to the top of the mountain via the funicar that is also a separate ticket that you can buy there. We debated going with a guide or going solo and I’m so grateful that we had the opportunity to go with Joan. It was a beautiful day and one we as a family are glad that we did together in this way.

Half day Montserrat is worth it!

Javi was an exceptional guide. He picked us up from our hotel and we were comfortable upon introductions. He is born and bred in Barcelona and there is no limit to his depth of knowledge. He loves Montserrat and gave us valuable options to choose from so we could personalize our tour highlights in the time allotted. Montserrat itself I would highly recommend. It’s a special place and going up to mountains is a great juxtaposition to stay on Barcelona. It was a highlight for us.

Great guide, bad trip

Carlos was wonderful! A kind and gracious young man. However, the weather was very bad with steady rain and a very thick fog. You could not see any of the monastery standing 30 feet in front of it. Firget seeing any of the views, it was all white. I know bad weather is not viator's fault but they knew it was bad from the morning trip and we were in afternoon. They should have given us the option to reschedule or cancel, knowing we were wasting our time and money. The , it is on us if we choose to go. They did not, even after I left messages and called. I have used viator many times on this trip and in the past and I would expect a better treatment. Everything else has been excellent with them, except for this.

Worth seeing but short

Seeing the basilica. It was beautiful and always love shopping. The drive was very pretty. The stopping to pick up others was too long but I get it.

Must see Barcelona

Montserrat Monastery Tour

Our family had a wonderful experience with Joan, an exceptional guide, who drove us safely to and from the Montserrat Monastery while sharing interesting and insightful details about the Monastery and the Barcelona area. What a pleasure it was experiencing such a wondrous place in such friendly company. We only wish we'd had more time to explore the mountain trails and soak in the beauty of the surroundings.

HALF DAY MONSERRAT

This is a half day tour. We were picked up from our hotel and the drive was relaxing. Our tour guy gave us a few highlights of the area while driving and he answered all my questions. The Monastery is huge and you will need more time to look at everything. We were glad we took only half day but you can have the option to take the train back to the city if you want. There are a lot of places to explore around and the the line to see the black madonna is long.

Amazing

Alejandro was an amazing tour guide and anyone would be lucky to have him. Very friendly extremely attentive, professional driver, very personable, affable also took time with everyone in the group making it feel very personalized as if we were the only people on the tour with him. Highly recommend, definitely a five star experience with incredible scenery.

Excellent tour with Ramon! Arrived on time, gave us a through explanation of Monserrat, allow free time for exploring, and best of all was very accommodating.

Skip and do something else with your time.

Friendly guide, Carlos. Spoke excellent English and had a wonderful sense of humor. Unfortunately, the tour ended up being bilingual, even though we clearly signed up for English only. Also, we did not get enough historical explanations about the monastery. Had we known how the tour would turn out, we would have done some thing else instead.
