Casa Milà - La Pedrera is another one of Antoni Gaudì's masterpieces. It is a beautiful building that beckons you to visit it. Unfortunately, you are only able to visit a small section of the building which is really an apartment building. There are a few rooms you visit, but I would say 75% of the building is closed-off to tourists. Also, one of the most fascinating facts about La Pedrera is that the Milà family actually sued Gaudì for going over budget and he won. Not a word of that is mentioned on the tour. There is a photo op, which is handled sort of like a cattle call. You are shown four possible backgrounds at the register, but not allowed to choose. You get what you get. The attic was our favorite section due to its beauty and the ability to take our time. The rest of the house felt rushed. Visiting the rooftop is amazing with gorgeous views.

Beautiful architecture

This was a must see. The audio is very easy to follow, it actually triggers itself when you enter the various areas. No need to try and find the audio that goes with the room your in. This is a beautiful building and a lovely experience. A must see

Go to Casa Mila First!

We loved our tour of Casa Mila! We wished we had done it first (before Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell) as it was a great intro in Gaudi's architectural style, and they have diagrams of his others works.

Great Gaudi Modernista Building!

We have visited Barcelona over 4 times, but this was the first time visiting Casa Mila. Both my husband & I are seniors & handicapped. The staff at Casa Mila made the visit very pleasant. There are elevators for disabled people - very convenient. Only bad thing was we couldn’t walk around the rooftop. The elevator could take us to the rooftop, but we couldn’t walk around the rooftop. The steps were too steep and no handicap ramps. However, we were able to get a view of the rooftop , skyline and the busy exclusive shopping street below Casa Mila. One final tip - get entrance tickets & audio headphones from TripAdvisor. There was a long line of people waiting to buy tickets at 9:45AM.

LOVED Casa Mila! The way they have you enter made it feel less crowded. A beautiful home and a must see! The rooftop is breathtaking!

Great tour ... but be warned

Great tour - very interesting. Well worth the cost. No better way to grasp the talent of Gaudi architecture. Lots of stairs, though. But be warned ... lots of people on the rooftop taking the opportunity for own personal photo shoots! So, any photos you take will include an entitled poser (they don't move).

Concise and good pace.

Perfect self guided with a nice audio. One hour was perfect timing. Not crowded. Guides to help answer more direct questions or in case you get a little lost on self guided tour.

A favorite for us

It's always nice when a time-entry works as it should. We had purchased advanced tickets for a 4:45 entry time and walked right in. There was plenty of staff to help you in the correct direction and, after receiving our audioguide, we got in line for the elevator. After a brief wait, we were on our way to the apartment, which is beautifully furnished. The crowds moved well, so we were able to get some photos without others in them. There were two options for reaching the attic, either stairs or the elevator. The attic was much more interesting than we supposed. It gave one of the best explanations of how Gaudi came up with his engineering designs and there are models throughout. The roof was well worth the climb and offered beautiful views and photo ops. We took the elevator back down. There is a well-stocked gift shop.

Go here because….

1. It’s in the heart of a fab street - with Tiffany’s across the road (saw a €357 ring in there after our tour) so it’s a great area to look around afterwards 2. It’s inexpensive - 21€ each 3. It’s organized! You are in and looking around quickly and it’s not crowded 4. A leisurely 2 hours is all you need 5. Inside is as intriguing as the views from outside 6. This is the last building Guidi worked in before fully committing himself for the rest of his life to the Sagrada Familiar and he used many of his structural ideas he used here on the temple!

The whole trip was easy and wonderful

No need to line up. Scenery was beautiful and wonderful. People are nice. You can walk on your own paste.

It is simply fantastic and well worth putting into the top 10 of must-visits in Barcelona. DO get reservations in advance as it is so popular.

Interesting experience on living in that building and Gaudi’s methods

Such an interesting building and it was a pleasure to see how an upper middle class family might have lived in Gaudi’s day; also, quite a lot of good information on his technique. As well, they have an excellent gift shop, unlike many places. It was just very disappointing that they closed the roof, which the place is best known for, due to a minute amount of rain.

Curved building beautiful inside and out

Such an unusual apartment building. Really interesting to see how the rooms were laid out and what life looked like in the 1920’s. But as well as that you have the amazing vision that is the architecture of Antoni Gaudi. The roof with its guardians that look like chimneys is incredible and the entrance halls and just the amazing undulating shape of the building is breathtaking. A must see if you’re in Barcelona.

Amazing attic and rooftop

When inside the building, it's too crowded. When in the attic and rooftop, it's not too crowded and it's amazing to be there. We went in the afternoon on a weekday. If you have booked a time to go in, don't arrive too early, they won't allow you in until it's almost your booked time (like 5-10 minutes before that).

Excellent Tour

This was a great summary of Gaudi’s works and his though process that lead to all his creations. Excellent audio tour.

Get the VR glasses on the mezzanine!

Good audio tour. Very different to Casa Battlo and glad we visited both. Roof was closed as it was torrential rain which was understandable (also limited enjoyment of the courtyards as we’d of got drenched). Worth getting the VR glasses tour on the mezzanine floor! With the extras we spent about 1.5-1.75 hours

Great experience!

Just returned from our first trip to Barcelona and La Pedrera was on our to do list. We booked our tickets in advance to ensure we could see it during our visit. We booked the day admission for 11am, wasn't too busy but by the time we came out there was a lot of people/groups starting the tour so definitely avoid peak times. The audio guide was really interesting. There were signs throughout showing you which way to go. The rooftop was stunning, definitely the best part. Definitely worth a visit if in Barcelona

Great place to start your visit to Barcelona.

If you are planning to do a Gaudi tour I would highly recommend starting here. The apartments are somewhat interesting but the attic and rooftop provide an overview of his inspiration and visionary brilliance. I found this basic understanding allowed for an even deeper appreciation of the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell. And La Padres is in a beautiful part of the city with high end shops and side walk cafes.

Great experience, well managed

It is the most wonderful place. The design, architecture, style, and ambience of La Pedrera are just wonderful. The organisation of the number of visitors inside at any one time is well managed. It was easy to book tickets and communication from Viator was excellent.

La Pedrera-Casa Mila Tour

This, like most of the Barcelona venues, is a busy attraction. Entrance is timed and that helps in keeping the crowds in the room reasonable. This is another Gaudi architectural masterpiece with a lot of the highlights in the attic and roof areas. Very good audio guide.

A Must See

I recommend buying the tickets online for peace of mind; La Pedrera is a busy attraction. I visited during the day, and it was packed—as usual. Consider this when attempting to get that perfect Instagram picture. A specific angle from the rooftop allows one to have the Sagrada Familia in the background. I took a quick photo to show you, but good luck getting a good picture there. People were taking dozens of photos, looking for the perfect shot, and the wait time was ridiculous.

Bad value duting rain

Don't go when it's raining as they don't allow roof access, and the patio just after the entrance is unsheltered from the rain..while the building is large, only a few rooms have access. Staff didn't allow use of ground floor toilet after we finished the tour. Only the attic was worth the trip.

More enjoyable than Casa Batllo

Worth a visit. It's less crowded and there's more too see than Casa Baltto. If you can only visit one, then go to Casa Mila!

Out of this world architecture!

The actual building was fantastic and the organising of the entire tour was totally worth it. We had a small issue with out tickets, and we couldn’t access them through the app, although our booking was obvious, but the staff helped us with it. We skipped the line in order to join our group, and the people there helped us printing our tickets very fast. Definitely a must see!

Don’t pay to go inside

Beautiful on the outside but thoroughly unremarkable on the inside. Definitely not worth the cost of those overpriced tickets.

Quick tour for a time filler

Very unique house. Roof top was the most interesting. I had a couple of hours and this was a great fill in. Great area too

Good visit

Good visit to Casa Mila today. Much quieter and easier to negotiate than Casa Battlo was despite same timings. I would have liked to have seen more examples of the living quarters areas in Casa Mila. You see a typical apartment that was rented out - which was interesting. But’d luke to have seen the grandeur of Mila though. The attic space was interesting - and the roof top - but lacked the colours of Battlo. My favourite parts were the entrance hall area for cars with the beautiful staircase and butterfly wing gates, defintely worth a visit. The cafe was great too .

It’s okay… not too much to see… so it’s better to see it this way without guide.. there are definitely other better things to do.

Equally amazing and less crowded than Casa Botllo.

A Gaudi masterpiece. Very lovely and less crowded than Casa Batllo, though be sure to get your ticket in advance. First floor that is open to the public is a former apartment and is furnished in the time period. The “whale attic” is amazing with lots of models of other Gaudi buildings. The roof, while famous, may cause vertigo. The steps are very narrow—not for the faint of heart! There is a wonderful restaurant around the corner called Dora. Delicious and very pleasant.

A marvel waiting to be visited

I am not a big architecture lover but I found myself marvelling over the imagination of Gaudi and beauty of his work. Very impressed indeed

Loved it! Amazing rooftop

We had a really fun time here! It’s a bit more museum-y than casa batilo but also a lot less crowded. The rooftop is really cool and so is the attic. We did casa batilo in the morning and la pedrera in the afternoon and it was perfect

The roof top was amazing, how Guadi incorporated art into function. Alot of steps but well worth the time

Don’t miss this

Fascinating self-tour! The headset commentary was very helpful and informative. So much to learn about Gaudi’s inspirational and functional design abilities. He was ahead of his time in so many ways. We spent 2 hours in the house.

How does the rain rain water out

Having seen Casa Batlló earlier, I was a bit disappointed in this visit, the best part was the roof, lucky it was sunny that day. The housing was not that special although I did forget to ask when it rains heavy waster coming in the middle will run on the ground floor.

Great Staff - Helpful and Understanding

The people here at Casa Mila were so nice. We were not able to make it at our time slot and I emailed the company to change times and they were very professional and helpful. They changed out times and we were able to enjoy out tour there. Thanks for be so helpful and understanding Casa Mila and working with us.

Decent Visit

I certainly appreciated the architecture more of this building but you only get to see the lobby and the rooftop and the attic area. We spent about 1.5hrs total here as well and given the smaller areas, it felt a bit more crowded. Still worth a visit though.

Underwhelmed

I was a little underwhelmed by the inside of the house. I just didn’t feel like it was that visually interesting compared to Gaudi’s other works. The roof was cool but, if you’re going in winter I would skip it, it was freezing up there

Hard to Find but Worth Effort

We were scheduled for a 4 pm tour but were able to reschedule to an earlier time at ticket office. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Tour of apartment is ok but really interesting part is in the attic. Here you can see some of Gaudi’s architectural innovations and thought process. Due to rainy conditions, rooftop was closed which was understandable but still disappointing. We had a difficult time locating La Pedrera Casa Mila but I’m glad that we made the effort.

Spring Tour

It’s beautiful and a must see. There is a dire need for signage at the entrance as it is extremely unorganized and no one knows where to queue for their tour time.

This is a MUST SEE! You won't be disappointed!

What are you waiting for? You can't visit this city without seeing La Padera - Casa Mila and learning more about Gaudi's amazing mind and creativity. You won't be disappointed!

Glad we visited - nice rooftop

Good experience, especially with the unique decor and rooftop, fantastic for many photo opportunities. Audio guide gave lots of great information, however there were certain exhibits that were tailored more towards those into their architecture/ history etc.

Doesn’t compare to Casa Batllo. Rooftop is best feature. If you can only visit one Gaudi building, see Casa Batllo or Park Guell

The rooftop at La Pedrera Casa Mila is simply wow! Breathtaking views and stunning architecture. A must-visit in Barcelona!

A Wonderful Exhibit of Gaudi's Last Residential Commission

Casa Mila wasn't even on our original itinerary, but our original beach day got rained out and it was fairly close to our lodging. We visited on our second day in Barcelona and the biggest surprise was how much my eight year old daughter loved it. I'm an architect, so I knew I would enjoy it, but she made us stop at every station on the audio tour and wouldn't let us move to the next until the audio was complete. When we got to the roof, she let out an audible "Whoa!" at all the Dr. Seuss shapes, prompting other visitors to chuckle out loud. The tour was probably between one and two hours long, the audio was engaging and they have done a marvelous job of presenting the home as it would have appeared when it was built. Whether you are a fan of Gaudi or not, the roof deck alone is worth the visit.

More Gaudi inspiration

Gaudi was simply a genius and La Pedera is another example of that. A beautiful, innovative building, though - to my mind - not as mind blowing as Casa Batllo, just down the road. What we both particularly enjoyed here was the exhibition in the attic of Gaudi's other works, and his concepts. That was really good, though I felt it could have been in a museum setting rather than in this building - still, it was interesting and well worth looking round. The roof was also particularly interesting. On the whole, I did enjoy La Pedera, but not my first choice for Gaudi houses in Barcelona - that accolade goes to Casa Batllo.
