Costa Brava Small Group Tour from Barcelona with Traditional Lunch

Great day trip

They don't cater for Vegetarians - unless you're on a diet

A nice way to visit the costa brava, but let down by the included 'meal'. Not suitable for vegetarians. Structure of the tour is nice with free time stops, except we didn't go to the Castle of St Joan, and instead had 2.5hours at a lunch stop in the middle of nowhere. No main meal for vegetarians to eat - only the option of having 2 tiny starters (which we were informed of on the way to the lunch stop). Starters were poor, one of the serving staff was very rude and was reluctant to serve me my second starter and my included drink. Not good to be stranded somewhere for 2 and a half hours on a 10 hour trip with no alternative places to eat. Would have been nice to be informed when booking the tour that there would be no vegetarian main meal available so that I could have brought my own and requested a refund for the cost I paid for a meal. Messaged the tour operator about this after the tour and they told me they would refund me 15% for the cost of the meal (yet to receive that) and also tried to insist that 2 small starters (3 slices of bland grilled vegetables and 4 croquettes) was a sufficient replacement (hint: it's not). It's 2024, vegetarian options aren't rocket science and shouldn't be an afterthought. A sandwich would have been more substantial than what they offered (and charged me for). As you can tell, this spoilt the rest of the tour for me, because I was hungry.

A pleasant day trip out of Barcelona.

Unfortunately it rained for most of our trip which put a dampener on the whole day’s experience. The Botanic Garden was very pleasant with its sea aspect. The lunch was average… fairly basic food & wine.There were hours spent on the bus with the guide speaking loudly to the driver for most of the time on the way back. Tossa de mar was a picturesque township with a castle which was worth visiting, very quaint. The guide was friendly whilst walking around & did give us some snippets of interesting information at every stop. Worthwhile experience to escape the hustle & bustle of Barcelona for a day if visiting for 5 days or more. Better to go on a sunny day!

Outstanding day trip to see the beautiful coast.

The trip was a great way to see the beautiful coast. The gardens were amazing. They had an outstanding variety of plants that were beautifully designed and maintained. We couldn't stop taking pictures. The beaches were also beautiful, but for us, the gardens were one of the things that will make our trip memorial for the rest of our lives. Our guide, Pablo, was great at sharing his knowledge of the country and made the trip both relaxing and fun. It is a great way to leave the cement of the city and enjoy the beautiful coast.

Amazing Costa Brava

What a beautiful tour from start to finish for our last day in Spain. The itinerary was perfect, enough time at each stop and our 3 course lunch was amazing! Our tour guide, Sergio and his assistant Pablo were very knowledgeable of the areas we visited and made time to speak to everyone in our group of 15. A thank you to our driver for a pleasant and safe trip. We definitely recommend taking this small group tour to the Costa Brava area 😊

Great food, beaches and history.

This tour is great for anyone looking to get a combination of Catalan history, great beaches and good traditional food. Marta was amazing as well. So nice and knowledgeable about the history of the country. Couldn’t recommend this tour enough.

Okay at best

The guide, although nice, did not guide much. Way too much free time without any guide. The tour involved a lot of uphill climbing, for older folks like us, it was too much. This description should mention that there is much climbing.:

Beaches on the full-day trip are the highlight

The stops along the coast were the highlight, the two beaches, swimming in the Mediterranean, the resort town of Tossa del Mar — especially the old walled town — is great for strolling, restaurants and shops. Alex our guide was highly informative and enjoyable. Recommended!

Good pace with history and beach town, chill

Rod and Lidia were good- came as a family of 5 - good facts and history education- gave great highlights- forced to sit in back of bus- seats not comfortable but everyone else was comfy- usb chargers in seats!!

Costa Brava / Blanes / Tosha De Mar

Rod had so much to offer with his knowledge and explanations for any questions we had He offered many insightful comments along the way and his passion for Catalunya was so evident Lydia our driver was very good and the whole experience was wonderful The food for lunch was fantastic Great value for our money

Costa Brava group tour was our good decision. Right from the Bus to the Driver guided by our tour guide everything was as described and as per our expectations.

This was a well-planned, well-paced excursion. Nu was a great guide and very informative. We loved the Marimurta Botanic Garden and the lovely seaside town of Tossa de Mar. we had a great lunch at a farm.

Great sampler of Girona Region

This was a pretty amazing tour. One of the best ones I've been on. The guide Marta was just great. She gave us a lot of information about the places we went to whilst giving plenty of time to explore and to quote Marta "Get Lost in the streets" and her friendly and fun nature helped make the tour enjoyable. Marcello our driver drove well and was a comfortable ride to each stop. The longest drive was about 1 hour and half at the end of the tour back to Barcelona. It gives you a really good taste of the Girona region and Pals whilst not the main point of the tour was a highlight for me. Definitely recommend and if I do come back to Barcelona, will use Explore Catalunya again! Marta also gave me a load of recommendations for my remaining days in Barcelona, including some tips for Tapas which were great. Definitely a great tour guide!

Tour lacking organization and information

Tour guide poorly organized. Struggled to take food orders for lunch. Orders could have been organized ahead of time or on the bus trip. Wasted time at first stop. Did not seem knowledgeable about the area. Gave some incorrect information. Trip was too long. Area visited was beautiful. Lovely gardens. Traditional lunch was okay

Can't leave Barcelona without trying this

Our guides were fabulous. From the moment we checked in Niu was very attentive to look for situations to explain history related to the many landmarks along our tour route. The day went by so quickly. A must do tour.

Wonderful day up the coast

Pablo was an absolute pleasure to have as a guide. He was so friendly with everyone and made sure everyone was talked to and part of the group. He makes good jokes as well. I highly recommend this tour because the scenery and time you have at each place is phenomenal. Thank you again Pablo! :)

Better Ways to Spend 10 Hours

Not enough planned activities to warrant the long drive. There should have been more than walking an hour in a garden with no guide, the meal was expected to be delicious and seaside and ended up be disappointing and inside. Followed by another long drive to walk around a beach town and castle for 1 hour on our own was not what I anticipated.

Best Tour!!

Everything was amazing! I went with my partner and we had the best time, the garden and beach were beyond what I imagined! Our tour guide Nu was the sweetest and so funny! The food was really good, it was at an old farmhouse, so beautiful and authentic we had the best time I couldn’t picture a better way to spend the day

Amazing views and guise

Had an amazing time with my best friend. and we had an amazing guide, Pablo! He was very kind and genuine, and very informative on the locations. Would definitely recommend a tour with him! It was an amazing day!

Wonderful experience

Loved visiting these towns and wish we had longer! Pals was small, cozy and sooo pretty. Costa Brava was insanely beautiful and the beaches were picturesque. Girona had so much history you could feel it walking through the city. Overall a wonderful time and Pablo was a very fun and informative guide!

The best tour and the best day at Costa Brava

It will be hard to beat this experience!!! It truly is the best! Costa Brava is just so beautiful considering we came from countries with beautiful beaches already. The tour is has the perfect blend of free time and informative parts. And the lunch is so good too. Traditional, very hearty and tasty. Like i said it will probably the best experience we had in Barcelona.

Beautiful costa Brava should not be missed!

One of the best day trips you can take! The costa Brava is not something you should miss if visiting Barcelona and this tour curated all the best, picturesque spots. Our tour guide was friendly and easy going. We got plenty of time on our own to explore or relax. The tour was worth the price and I would highly recommend this tour!

Best experience during entire Barcelona trip! Phenomenal views, great guys ( super helpful, but gave us space to enjoy), easy instructions, well organized

Full day.

Great day with three great stops. David our guide got us to walk/hike places we probably wouldn't have had we tried to explore these places alone. Was torn between exploring more of Tossa or the castle by the end of the day we were not moving fast enough to do both. Lunch was amazing with lots of options

Day in Costa Brava

Was a nice experience. Took us to some great spots, mind-blowing. However free time could have been longer. David was amazing and a passionate catalunian, who went out of his way to inform us about the culture and region, cheers!

Both main locations...

Both main locations (Costa Brava and Walled City) were excellent. Would suggest skipping the lunch in between locations and just drive straight to second stop and allow for longer visit and lunch on your own. The lunch was average and we sat inside even though beautiful day. Guide wasn’t super knowledgeable and was a bit lazy.

Fun and flexible tour

I had a great tour with Alex to Costa Brava! He was friendly, funny and helpful throughout the day. This tour was fantastic with plenty of free time to explore and I felt the day was timed out perfectly.

Xavi is the best

Xavi is one of the friendliest guides i ever had! Nice trip lunch was oki, he was great, giving a lot of recommendations. Recommend!

Xavi was a great guide. I did the Costa Brava tour we visited Blanes and Tossa de Mar. Lunch was incredible. Perfect amount of time at each location.

Costa Brava is way too convenient/close to miss out on

We were very glad we made time in our vacation for this day trip! It's so ridiculously beautiful and close to Barcelona that I really think there's no excuse to miss this unless you simply hate the beach and coastal town vibes. Our guide, Bertha, was very sweet and informative, but this ended up being less of a guided tour and more of a "we got you to the place, now explore!" type of situation. That said, we were given plenty of suggestions on what we could do; Blanes and Tossa de Mar were gorgeous little towns to spend some free time in and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring both. The scenery is just stunning!

Great day trip!

Excellent day trip from Barcelona. Marta our guide was great and great food for lunch. I think more time in Tossa would be better though. It’s such a beautiful town that o wished I had more time to explore
