Relaxed, fun and tasty

The tour was excellent. Meeting point was very straight forward. Plenty of walking, learning a lot about the history of Barcelona, tasting some lovely Spanish food and delicious wine. Anna was a very good guide, very chilled and knowledgeable on the area

Ana our guide was fabulous. As there were only 2 of us on the tour we felt a bit spoilt . Ana gave us lots of historical information at various times as she guided us around to the tapas bars. The food was delicious and plenty of it. Certainly worth the effort to participate in this event.

A great way to spend the evening with friends

The food and drinks were great. Our tour guide Lilly was wonderful! She’s very knowledgeable about the history of Barcelona and Catalan. She definitely made the experience enjoyable and interesting.

Great food tour and historical background

Juan took the time to educate us on the origins of each food and drink that we tried. He was very knowledgeable and taught us so much about vermouth iberico ham and traditional tapas. He made it a great experience for us.

Great food tour in Gothic Quarter

Our guide Juan was very knowledgeable and gave us a great tour. We went to small, local places and enjoyed tapas and a drink. We learned some Barcelona history along the way. It was delicious and a perfect way to start our discovery of Barcelona. We’d highly recommend this tour.

Juan was an excellent guide and very enthusiastic about his city. The variety of food/drinks was excellent. We went to some small family owned establishments that I would have never found on my own. Very traditional Catalon foods.

Unique walking tour with tapas & tastings

We had delicious beverages and tapas throughout the Gothic district with our wonderful guide, Liliana Benassi! She was very knowledgeable of the history of Barcelona and showed us not only main sites along the tour but also hidden treasures we never would have seen on our own. The restaurant stops were unique, quaint & had a history of their own. We sipped wine, beer & vermouth, along with tapas and a dessert. We enjoyed trying it all & also sincerely appreciated Lily working with establishments to accommodate several food allergies. I highly recommend this tour with Lily!

Fantastic food tour!!!!

Magdalena was a wonderful host! Two of my faves: The Basílica of st Mary’s and Pablo Picasso’s work on the architecture school. The food was PLENTY!!! And they were capable of accommodating my vegetarian practice. It was perfect♥️♥️♥️

Excellent Tour with Wonderful Guide

This tour is a great mix of culture, history and delicious food and drinks. The places we visited were smaller and more local which I like. The tour guide Iris, was awesome. Made the tour even better and she's passionate about sharing her knowledge of the area and the food we sampled.

Great tour guide, good food, misrepresented experience though far fewer tapas places were visited

I enjoyed the guide - she was great. However the food tour I was sold said 8 tapas and 4 drinks. We went to four tapas places and the last one had run out of the one food item we were supposed to taste. Every tapas place was good - with an interesting history and a more local flavor however I'm upset that I spent $120 and didn't eat enough. I went to another Tapas place afterward to have a little more food because I was still hungry. I am not a huge person that has a massive appetite - I'm in shape and keep fit. I had eaten little that day as it was a travel day for me so was looking forward to the 8 Tapas places --that was why I picked the tour. There were many other tours with fewer tapas stops. I'm disappointed as this is the first time I've booked on this website - Viator. I'm hoping to get some kind of credit for a future tour.

Amazing Experience

Wonderful experience. Our guide was Liliana Benassi and she was amazing. The amount and quality of food and drink was surprisingly good. Liliana made sure everyone was well taken care of and went above and beyond at trying to accommodate dietary restrictions of some of the guests. My only recommendation would be for the tour company to inquire about dietary restrictions before the tour begins so the guide doesn’t have to spend time on this when the tour begins

Amazing Experience

This was a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was Liliana Benassi and she was amazing! She went out of her way to ensure everyone was having a good time. She even did her best to meet the dietary restrictions of some of the guests. Highly recommend this tour! There was a good amount of food and drinks served - I was pleasantly surprised at the food quality and quantity. My only recommendation would be for the tour company to inquire about dietary restrictions before the tour begins since the wonderful guide spent a considerable amount of time trying to navigate this on her own.

Such a fun evening

This was a great experience, some very tasty tapas and delicious drinks, as well as lots of insider knowledge about Barcelona. Our guide, Lili, was amazing and looked after our group so well! As a solo traveller it was a great experience to meet some other people, and a really fun evening.

This was an outstanding tour. Lily, our guide, was very informative and entertaining. The food and drinks were plentiful and delicious. This was what we needed to kick off our visit to Barcelona!

Excellent Tapas and Drinks!

A good tour. The tapas and beverages were excellent. We went to 3 tapas restaurant, 1 dessert place, and 1 pinxto place. Our tour guide Magda was also very good, nice, and helpful. would say this tour is light on the History of the Gothic quarter of that is what you are looking for in the tour. I would recommend this tour if you are looking for tapas and drink tour!

Enjoyable experience

Great tour!

Great tour! Sara was our guide and while we booked a group tour, it turned out we were the only ones so ended up with a private tour. The food was very good, special experience with Pau at one stop where we will definitely go back for dinner next trip. Had the best patatas bravas (and we’ve tried many). Overall highly recommend!

Good food and fun!

My husband and I had a great time and tried many delicious dishes and drinks. Well worth the money. We love doing food tours when we visit places because you get to try different foods and learn about the city as well.

Tapas in unique and extraordinary places

Our family of five with two generations really enjoyed this tour. Juan is an excellent guide who provides great information as well as group care and management. The tapas places he took us to were each unique and extraordinary. And we learned something about Catalon culture and Barcelona history along the way.

So much fun

Great food, great guide (Edita - I hope I have got that right), great company, great fun. We had two teenage boys with us and there was enough food to keep them happy. We saw many locations on the tour which we would never have gone to otherwise and learnt a lot of Barcelona’s fascinating history from our guide who was a local. One of the restaurants was so good that we went back another night for a full meal.

This was an amazing experience. Got seats at some lovely local restaurants. Juan was a great host and very knowledgeable of Barcelona. Our favourite activity of our trip to Barcelona!

Old Town Tapas Tour

I would rate it a 4.5 if there was an option to do so. Booking Booked a private tour for 5:30, received an email about changing the time to 6:30 but since I was on vacation and not checking email I missed this. When we arrived there was a group tour at this time and we were confused. Turns out they called as well but our country code was wrong in the app. REMINDER to check your details are correct incase they need to call. The tour guide Daisy quickly remedied this and got us refunded the difference in fare and we were able to join the group. Food/drink Our group was a total of 7 women and we went to 5 stops. It was the perfect amount of food and drinks to be full and satisfied and a small enough group to enjoy the conversation and keep a good pace. The first stop was a large bomba (fried potato and meat ball) and it was delicious, this also came paired with a full beer. We also enjoyed several tapas and wine throughout the stops that varied from average to delicious. The wine did not disappoint and was delicious at all stops. We ended with a cava and a pinche (olives and raw fish) which I loved as it is something I would never order on my own and was not disappointed. Overall We have gone on food tours in every country we have visited and this one did not disappoint. Our guide and group members made this enjoyable. The food was delicious although I wish there were more things to try that I hadn’t eaten multiple times in Barcelona already on my previous days there but I would still recommend this tour for anyone visiting who appreciates food and trying places you may never otherwise stumble upon.

Private Tour - due to only two rain hearty folks!

The evening of our tour it had started to rain lightly. Since this was a walking tour it seems all participants except me and my husband cancelled. This meant we got a tour from Juan that was outstanding! He took is to wonderful out of the way places Old Gothic area of Barcelona. My pictures show a bookstore/tapas bar and a lovely tapas place with a wine cellar that is proudly on display. He shared interesting history of each place as well as details to the food and drinks we shared. Food and drink were outstanding and Juan was an excellent guide.

Really fun tapas crawl with a super knowledgeable guide sharing history of Barcelona and food and wine. Great variety of tapas, and learned how good the locally made vermouth is!

Desi was a wonderful guide- fill of knowledge about the city and about food. And she was very vibrant and energetic. The food we tasted and the venues we visited were wonderful. We would definitely recommend the tour and Desi.

Great food, wine and History

We had a wonderful tour of the old Gothic Quarter. Juan, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. We visited some of the lesser known establishments and enjoyed ourselves just as if we were locals.

If you are ever going to do a food tour... do this one!

I have done close to 100 food tours all over the world, this is one of the very best. Our guide Daisy was wonderful! She was knowledgable about the history and culture of Barcelona, and was passionate about sharing this with us. One thing that makes this food tour special, (and tours in general with the company Intrepid/Urban travel adventures) is they make each tour authentic to location in support of the local communities. Each place we visited, and each item we tried was not just local to Catalonia, but to Barcelona specifically. One highlight of the tour is the oldest book store in Barcelona, a family run business, that serves a traditional cuisine in a handful of tables in the book store. It is really quite special when you can experience a culture and it's authenticity. I highly recommend you do this tour.

Great tour to do on your first day

After 2 years of very little travel we decided to have our first city break. So glad we did in Barcelona and that we took this tour to explore the wonderful tapas adventures of this city. We were a small group of 8 people and the guide made sure we are all catered for. In true catalan style, after a few drinks and bites we were all good friends, and after the tour some of us stayed longer to discover the neigbourhood night life. What a great day and night.

Amazing cultural food tour!

What an amazing tour. Enjoyed with a great bunch of people and the guide was fantastic. Really knowledgeable and provided suggestions to other restaurants I should visit during my time here. The food was delicious, and I really enjoyed hearing stories about local life and the neighbourhoods we discovered during the tour. I’ll certainly be on the lookout to join another Intrepid Urban Adventure tour in the future as this was just excellent.

Come hungry for this amazing tapas tour

We had an amazing tapas tour, with a great guide, Sergi! This tour will fill you up, so make sure you come hungry. We visited a great mix of tapas spots in El Raval and the Gothic Quarter, that ranged from local hole-in-the-walls to famous restaurants frequented by Picasso. It was a really good mix of places you would never find on your own and well-known spots you definitely wanted to see. And the food and drinks were delicious! Our guide Sergi was incredibly knowledgeable about Spain and the history of Barcelona, and had an in-depth answer to every question we threw at him. He was also clearly a well-known and liked local figure – the servers at the restaurants greeted him like an old friend at every stop. This tour not only gives you delicious snacks and a great overview of Barcelona tapas bars, but also a lot of history about the city. Sergi really took his time and made us feel like guests and friends that he wanted to have a great time. I would recommend this tour to any food lover!

Lovely tour

I have very much enjoyed this tour! We went to several markets, but also saw other places like a bar with an amazing view over the city. I ate things that I normally wouldnt know how to pick and this was very nice to try new food which were related to this region. Our tourguide was also very friendly, make you feel comfortable and gave us insights of the city. Overall very good value for this tour, would surely recommend it!
