Small-Group Bangkok Hidden Paths Night Biking Tour with Guide

Great experience

I had a night bicycle tour with Pam and Kim who were super friendly and helpful, always with the smile on their face answering all questions and giving tips. The tour was great, including interesting hidden gems (between locals) of Bangkok too. Got to try yummy local snacks during trip. Highly recommend 🥰

A magical mystery tour!

Covered a lot of ground and saw plenty of sights as well tiny paths and streets. Impressed so many braved near monsoon conditions which did not spoil things too much - after all it was so warm!

It's worth the money:)

The tour was very well organized, the guides were very nice and the snacks were excellent. We also learned a lot of interesting things about the life of ordinary Thais. We went through the main street of China Town as well as the back streets, where I would not dare to go by bike by myself:) The guides were also very willing to take pictures of us. I definitely recommend it!

Wonderful trip

The great what you can have in Bangkok. Great touris guides. You never, ever gonna see such small and narrow streets in Bangkok without this trip.

Very unique way to see Bangkok at night

Very sweet tour guide. She smiled a lot but was quite difficult to understand. She spoke very fast with a strong Thai accent. I enjoyed touring the back alleys where no tourists are seen however it was very dark in some areas and difficult to negotiate tight turns. A person must be very comfortable on a bike. I enjoyed going to the Chinese temple and learning a little about the customs. I also enjoyed the exotic fruit and street food that we sampled. The flower market was amazing but I would have liked some explanation rather than just riding through. Seeing the city at night was beautiful and very different from the busy daytime. We were 8 people on the tour. We were not asked to introduce ourselves or where we were from at the beginning of the tour. Doing this is always a good idea to create a sense of camaraderie within the group. I have taken many cycle tours around the world . I enjoyed it but it wasn’t amazing.

Outstanding

It was a fantastic and informative ride. Our guide was very good. His name is North, a real gem. I must say the city of Bangkok is beautiful and the people there are priceless. The ride showcases all this in a short time and Chinatown is a must see. I must add if you are an inexperienced cyclist, the tight corners and dark alleys can be quite challenging. My partner and I loved every minute of this tour. Highly recommend.

Great way to see the city

Great way of seeing the real Bangkok. Very professional tour guide and accommodated us. The rain was pretty bad throughout but it added to the experience and really enjoyed it.

Amazing!

Amazing cycling tour around completely hidden parts of Bangkok that you’d never normally see if on your own. Felt completely safe the whole time and the tour guides were amazing and very informative. Would recommend to everyone!

Different kind of bangkok

The guides were friendly and very accommodating. They also made our safety a priority. The routes were easy to pedal and safe. Nice way to explore the back streets of the city.

A whole new Bangkok on wheels

This 3hr night bike ride tour is simply amazing. The guides Sandra and Flute are very patient and friendly who speak very good English. We got to see so many interesting places of Bangkok where cars can't access to. It is indeed a whole new experience for me even though I have been to Bangkok many times. Highly recommend this tour if you want something different than your usual sight seeing. I'm looking forward to my next adventure with Co Van Kessel.

Terrible biking tour, do not go there!

Terrible biking tour! Do not go there! Groups are way too big! We lost our daughter because there were so many people in 1 group, half of the group went right, half went left. Our daughter was left behind alone. One guide didn’t speak any English. We went there 7 years ago, it was perfect back then, small groups, nice guides. Now it’s a money driven company. Choose another one! Too expensive for what they offer.

An absolute must-do experience!

This was my second time in Bangkok and the second time doing a tour at this company (first time was 5 years ago, the bike + boat tour). We booked a night tour of 3 hours. At the start of our tour, there was heavy rain but rain ponchos were included, so this was not really a problem. Within 15 minutes the rain already stopped. Our tour guide Sandra was very nice, patient and genuinely enthusiastic. She took us around the little streets of Bangkok and showed us a different side of the city. Drinks were also provided and we even got to try some nice snacks. I went together with someone, but I can imagine that these tours are a nice way to meet other more adventurous travellers, especially if you're Dutch! :)

Amazing tour!

Was an amazing tour! You really get to see the 'hidden' side of Bangkok, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. We went to a market in Thonburi (which only operates on the weekend), and our guide bought some delicious snacks. Rode down many small alleys with no other tourists, and got a feel for how Bangkok citizens live. Definitely the best part of our Bangkok trip!

AMAZING!

Due to covid there weren't many tourists when we were traveling to Bangkok, so when we booked our tour we were all alone with our guide, Bob. It was such a great experience. Bob showed us Bangkok in a whole different way, in which we were unfamiliair. We learned so much. Bob explained a lot and answered all of our questions. We also were able to taste some street food, which was really great. We loved every bit of it and if we'll return to Bangkok we'll definitely book another tour.

Great Tour

Great Tour through the city! Food and wather is included. We were only two passenger. Even with a mask it was a great experience.

awesome everything

I loved every bit of it! So many awesome things; I got to see an interesting slice of life in which I was unfamiliar. Everyone was nice and I got some nice unexpected snacks on the way! I can't recommend it enough!

Biketour by night

We did the 3hour tour by night and were guided bij Sandra & Pataye. Very Lovely and helpful guides! We went too special places and the guides gave us extra information. Amazing experience! Wonderfull by night and snacks (yummy streetfood) and drinks were included!

A mixed bag

After reviewing the website and reading reviews, we decided this sounded like a really fun activity for our family. While not serious bikers, we do ride fairly regularly. The guides were really good and seemed very concerned with our safety. However, the bikes are not great, you need to navigate tight alleyways and avoid mopeds through the alleyways, ride on a sidewalk near the river all while avoiding trees and pedestrians and ride on a busy street through Chinatown. Unless you feel completely confident on a bike that’s not your own (and doesn’t have gears) and can navigate really tight spaces, this might not be the excursion for you.

Worth doing, for intermediate & better bike riders

Interesting & unique tour, got to see many back streets and alleys in and around Chinatown. Note that the ride includes many narrow alleys, sharp turns, dark lanes, and biking in inescapably close quarters to local pedestrians. If you're not comfortable on a bike, expect to find some of these areas challenging. But if you are, this is an interesting way to spend an evening.

Authentic local experience

This was an awesome 3 hour night time experience through alleyways, looking into homes. Not the usual tourist trap, this showed what real life and culture is like. We even got to try street food with the locals. Our host was amazing but I cant spell his name.... Gort? Nort?

Evening bike tour in Bangkok

This was a really fun activity which took us two parts of Bangkok we would never have explored by ourselves. Cycling through the alleys at night was an amazing experience and I thoroughly recommend this tour.

Awesome experience!

We booked a night tour to discover Bangkok off the beaten tourists spots. It was awesome! We discovered streets and places we would never have seen without our guides Cola and Pop (hope I spell them right)! The tour included drinks and also local food and was totally worth the money! I recommend it to everyone who visits this awesome city.

What a great Tour! Wonderful guides!

Yesterday we, my husband and me, made the 5-hours-bike-and-boat-tour. What amazing inspirations we had!!! Great Tour, useful advices, safe organized through the traffic of Bangkok, going through Chinatown, small streets, lots of information, beautiful tour on the Longtailboat! Best food, even for me as the only vegetarian! Thanks to Dao and Nita, the best guides ever! We will recommend co van kessel to everyone who wants to see the real Bangkok!!! Thanks a lot!

A very enjoyable ride

My husband and I did both the 3 hours day tour and the 3 hours night tour. Personally I preferred the night tour. It’s cooler and less crowded. Our tour guides Mimi and Kathy were friendly and tentative. Helmet (optional) and safety vest were provided. So were bottle waters and light refreshments. It’s a great way to experience Thailand in an up close and personal level. A few tips: 1. Since we rode through some tight spaces, I highly recommend you adjust the bike (or get a smaller size like I did) so you can stand flat-footed while seated on the bike. There were several ladies in the tour who adjusted the seat quickly after we started the tour. When I went on the day tour my bike was too high even when adjusted all the way down and I regretted not getting the smaller size bike. They have 28 inch, 25 inch and 24 inch. 2. Use mosquito repellent if you attract mosquitoes. 3. If you park your car in River City, make sure you verify parking before you leave. The office will be closed when you come back and no verification can be done.

Great bike tour in Bangkok

We did the evening ride with the lovely tour guide (Dao). It was an amazing experience to never forget. If you want to see Bangkok from different perspectives definitely recommend this tour. All the bikes were good and tour info was really great.

Excellent

I liked it very much, they teach and show many thing of the city Bangkok, and you have a many different activities to choose.

Best tour in Bangkok

Definitely a highlight of my time in Bangkok! Our guide was fantastic. We got to see a lot of beautiful sites at night, try some great street food snacks, and learn more about Thailand

WOW

It was amazing. You will see stunning suburbs, Bangkok behind the scenes and get to know a lot about Thailand. I would say the tour is for everyone. There are no mountain bikes available - just the dutch bikes. You can also rent a helmet

The original bike tour company in Bangkok

This is one of the highlights of my trip to Bangkok. I enjoy cycling and Co Van Kessel provided a really amazing night tour through the streets of the city. Snaking our way through alley ways and narrow laned, you see a different side of Bangkok - the local life. This is the original company that started cycle tours in Bangkok and they are very good value for money. I highly recommend it! Have fun!

A great way to see Bangkok at night

There were only 2 of us and our guide "Dow" (actually spelled Dau) on this 3 hour night tour through Bangkok. The cycling through Chinatown was a highlight, especially stopping to walk around there and sample some pork satay. The tour is a mixture of cycling and walking. Many of the alleys are dark and narrow, so being a bit more experienced on a bicycle helps a lot. We had lots of fun with Dow- she is charming, informative, flexible and has a zest for life. We would recommend Co Van Kessel Tours

Highlight of trip to Bangkok

I cannot recommend the evening bike tour enough.. an absolute highlight of my trip. It's great to get away from the crowds and enjoy the back streets of Bangkok at night. Our guide Im and assistant King were fantastic - very knowledgeable and great fun. Apologies if names misspelt! We visited Chinatown, Wat Pho (a joy to see at night when no one is there) and ate gorgeous food in an area away from the crowds. This tour is an absolute must !

Magical

Had a fantastic time on the tour. Was just brilliant and took us to places we would never have found on our own. It was such an experience to cycle through all the backstreets in the dark. Our guides Dow and Art were so lovely and really made it special for us. It was the highlight of our visit to Bangkok!

Temple Wat Pho, in floodlights but deserted..... very impressive.

Narrow, dark alleys, Temples in floodlights, quiet streets, exotic fruits you never dared trying, a busy flower market and a flexible tour guide. What a way to spend an evening in crowded Bangkok. Thank You Co van Kessel Company.

Fantastic, but not for the faint of heart!

We went on the night tour in an intimate group of 9 plus 2 tour guides: Im and Dear. Never been to Bangkok and this was an incredible way to experience alleys, hidden corners and the real way working people live in this city! I highly recommend this for people comfortable with biking especially in tight and dark spots. I felt completely confident that our guides wouldnt lead us astray but just making sure that people are aware that this requires a daring and adventurous spirit. A stop at Yaowat for mango ice cream and pork satay was a huge highlight!

10/10 A must in Bangkok

We booked the night tour and it was fantastic and definitely worth the money. Tammy was our tour guide and she was very lovely and really knows the city well. We got to see the quiet und beautiful part of Bangkok and a lot of places you normally wouldn’t see as an tourist. I would definitely book another tour from this company. If you read this Tammy..we are still laughing from your „no sexy in temple „ comment 😄

Top of the list for Bangkok.

One of the best things we did on our first time in Bangkok!! The night tour is cool in so many ways.... Value for money: 10/10. Ease of booking and communication: 10/10. Booked via phone, no fuss when we got to the office, cold drinks and toilets available, easy, fast and professional set up to get the crew on bikes and the tour underway. Guides: 10/10 Ling Ling and her tail guide (sorry forgot her name) were excellent! Friendly, engaging and they knew the area well and were able to answer all our questions. Sites visited: 10/10. Over 3 hours we saw Chinatown, Flower markets, Temples, Shops, Stalls, rode the ferry, ate local food and spoke to locals and much more... we were encouraged to stop, look, take photos and ask questions whenever we felt the need. Cold, bottled water stops included regularly on the tour...all included in the cost. Dont be put off by thinking that you will be slogging it out for 3 hours in the heat, the tour moves at a very easy pace and the night time lighting makes for great photos and is obviously cooler than the day...we can highly recommend this company and the night time tour...it was a highlight of our time in Bangkok and such good value for money!

Bangkok Cycle Tours - Must Do

This review actually covers 2 tours - which we did on consecutive days. As we only had 2 days in Bangkok, we wanted to maximise what we saw. And as we stayed in the Royal Orchid Sheraton we were a 90 second walk away from the Co Van Kessel office. Both tours barely overlap - so you can do both and see completely different things. They are the #1 rated tour company on TripAdvisor for Bangkok - this is not by accident. We did the 6 to 9 pm night tour first, and it was really great. Narrow and sometimes tiny streets and lanes, way off the beaten track and seeing things that you simply would not see, or places that you would not go without a guide. As this tour also covers the outside some of the main 'big' sites like the Grand Palace (outside the walls), and Wat Pho with the giant reclining budda (though that piece is closed in the evening), you actually cover a lot of the big ticket tourist sights without having to do them all separately. Chinatown was great too - we got to cycle along the main street and get a feel for the layout of the restaurants etc for the next evenings food. The second tour was the 5 hour boat and bike combo one from 1pm to 6pm, with a full sit down dinner stop included at about 4pm. Again, we saw places way off the beaten path, and without a tour like this you would simply never see them. The boat ride out into the countryside / suburbs was great, with the bikes in the back, and we cycled around tiny raised pathways and saw a number of smaller temples and made multiple stops and breaks. Then we had the boat back again to the Chao Phraya river. Sandra was our lead guide on both tours, and we also had Peanut and Ling Ling (i think). She was really great, full of knowledge and insight, and great with my 11 year old daughter. The cycling was never hard, even in the daytime sun, and we had plenty of stops for water and street nibbles. We have seen a lot of bike tours worldwide - i cannot recommend these tours enough - a must do in Bangkok.

Great bike ride

Nice trip! North our guide knew a lot about Bangkok. We had a group of eight people. You go to places where you normally don't go.

Fantastic bike tour with nice guides

Fantastic bike tour with nice guides. Got to see a part of Bangkok in fantastic lighting at night. A great way to see a lot! Pleasant stops on the tour with refreshments. Recommended!

top

Nice walk Well organised 2 guides accompany us They are vigilant and pay attention to safety It’s easy, they wait in strategic places Nice night visit For the snack it’s local, good, simple We pass through very narrow streets in the middle of the market or on sidewalks, on the road with cars: watch out for young children...

Minneverdig tur gjennom Bangkoks bakgater

Det var en høyst minneverdig opplevelse som jeg anbefaler på det varmeste. Vi syklet gjennom trange smug og bakgater der turister sjelden ferdes. Vi var ti gjester og tre guider sørget for en trygg ferd gjennom trafikken.

Super

Very fun to do, definitely recommended and especially in the dark!! Nice alleys to cycle through that you would otherwise never visit. Just do it!

Fun activity for all ages

Very nice bike ride, which we did in the evening, the staff is very friendly and you get a few tasty snacks, that is the only downside that the snacks could be a little more extensive.

Amazing experience

Super sweet guides, what an experience to see Bangkok like this, you can go by bike to places you would normally never go, highly recommended!

Aanrader!

Geweldige ervaring!
