A delicious , colourful experience

Incredible experience, 4 courses, and ending with mango sticky rice. The school is colorful and beautifully decorated. On each floor there is a preparation room, cooking room (kitchen) and dining room. This easily allows for a smooth transition from bed inning to last stage where the food you cooked can be tasted. The teacher was well in control of the 5 kids and all had an amazing experience. And a gift pack to each on leaving. Truly wonderful

Must Do

The best tour I did amongst everything planned, this was such an immersive experience to Thai culture and food. Plus our instructor was so funny and made everything fun, I was at one point crying because of the chili but every other time because of her jokes 🤣

Going to the markets to get the food was fun. We enjoyed five different dishes. Very clean and comfortable and the staff are so friendly.

Best Cooking Class Experience!

This tour is hands down the best one we have experienced. Recommend selecting the class with market tour. There were several options in selecting a cooking class tour, after a good amount of research we selected this one, even though the cost was higher. And it was worth it all. The experience is unforgettable, be prepared to take tons of photos and come hungry! The cooking environment was quaint and our teacher was excellent. Food was beyond delicious! They also gifted a cook book and a special item.

The instructor Ju was first rate!Informative, funny, thorough. We started with a short walk to the local market where we were shown the different Thai basils, gingers, and a few ingredients that I’ve never been able to find in the US (different eggplants and panana [not banana] leaves). After returning to the school, we began our first dish of TomYum soup. The help staff busily prepared and measured the different ingredients for the next stage while we were either cooking or eating so it flowed very smoothly. The cooking stations were separate from the prep and eating stations. THIS IS IMPORTANT!! I have been to another Bangkok cooking school before (had a good time, good people, great food, etc), BUT it was outdoors, all under a covered structure. Trust me, after cooking with high heat outdoors, it feels SO GOOD to come inside and eat in the air conditioning. This alone sets Silom Thai Cooking School apart from my other experience. After the TomYum soup, we continued the same routine (introduction of ingredients, chopping/cutting, grinding with a mortar and pestle) to make PadThai, then green Papaya salad, then green curry and finally mango sticky rice. All of the dishes (except the dessert, which was prepared beforehand) were the absolute tastiest I’ve ever had in the US and best of all…I MADE IT MYSELF. This was really quite revolutionary to me and underscored the fact that it all really comes down to having the best local spices/herbs AND an instructor that thoroughly knows the proper proportions of all of those ingredients. My next trip to Bangkok (and I WILL be back) will be another class at Silom with hopefully more and different dishes to prepare. I can’t wait to get back to the US and scout a market where I can find the ingredients to make my own dishes. I cannot recommend Silom Thai Cooking School enough! I guarantee that you will enjoy your time there. OH and the price is extremely reasonable. Even with a generous tip to instructor Ju, I consider it a great value. Learn how to cook the best Thai food you’ve ever eaten and kill 3 hours doing it for a reasonable price! No brainer.

Yummy Thai food with Jewel

We enjoyed cooking Thai dishes with our instructor Jewel. She was patient, kind and funny. She kept the class interesting. We walked to the market to get fresh vegetables for our dishes. It wasn’t far. Everything was so organized. We prepared food in one area, cooked in a separate area and devoured our dishes in another. I was impressed with how everything went so smoothly. After we returned from eating each dish, the preparation area was always set up for the next. I’m so happy I chose Silom cooking class. I could eat the food everyday.

Good beginner class

Great tutor with class of eight. Everything was shown clearly and then we prepped some of the food. The program ran smoothly as we prepped then cooked then sampled each dish. Some might prefer that all the food was prepped then cooked but this way worked well for the number attending. The market tour gave us the chance to try some fresh fruits and experience the busy atmosphere. The tutor gas a good sense of humour and showed how to keep safe with a long handled wok over the heat.

Very informative and fun cooking class! Class was run smoothly between learning about the ingredients to cooking to eating. Market tour was a nice start to the day!

An immersive experience in Thai culture via food

Jeju was our instructor and it was such a great experience! Not only was a lot of prep done, there was still plenty for us to do. Unlike some cooking classes where you do mainly the prep, we got to do the prep AND walk through the cooking aspect and get a recipe book to take home. Also, a LOT of food was included in this - come hungry! It was a five course meal of Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai, Green Curry with Rice, Papaya Salad, and finished with Mango Sticky Rice. It was doable, fun, and Jeju was super funny and informative. Definitely a highlight during our time in Bangkok!

Cooking with joy and happyness

2 hours of enjoy. We cooked, loughed and ate. Choochoo was wonderful. She dxplaned everything with a lot of pacient. Thank you for a wonderful cooking class.

Had the most wonderful time!!!!!

We had an absolutely wonderful time!!! It was so well organized. There was an outdoor cooking area, indoor air conditioned prep area and air conditioned eating area. We ate each dish as we prepared it and it was definitely the best Thai food I have ever eaten!! All fresh ingredients and so delicious! The presentation of each dish was spectacular. I learned a lot and will definitely try and recreate the dishes. Ghi was our teacher and she was wonderful. She was humorous, knowledgable and made sure she included everyone. Thank you for a wonderful experience, I will definitely tell everyone I know visiting Bangkok to go!

Exceptional food that I can cook when we get back to Australia

The cooking lessons was done in a funny and easy t understand with exceptional food that I can cook when we get back to Australia. It is an experience I recommend any tourist to do when in Bangkok. The tutors were great and showed every detail require in a receipe and you take away a receipe book at the end of the menu that was prepared and cooked by yourself.

Highly recommended. We can’t wait to try to cook what we learn in this tour. The staff are excellent and we had some freebies after completion.

Enjoyable afternoon learning how to cook Thai food

Really enjoyed our afternoon with the Silom cooking school…our teacher was not only very knowledgeable but great fun and full of jokes. It was a small group - just 8 of us - mostly UK/USA but all english speaking and our teacher spoke good English. We all cooked our own meals, so make sure you go hungry! We did the afternoon class which did not do the market tour. I am absolutely going to now cook Thai food when I get back home

Really awesome experience, worth booking!

We booked the morning class and this has a tour at the local market which i liked because i wanted to see what new kinds of food or ingredients i would be able to discover. The Chef instructor was very polite and nice, accommodating to questions. I would recommend the activity to anyone interested with food its fun,and the thought of being able to cook thai dishes would make you love the food even more. the classroom and kitchen was very vibrant and colorful filled with a nice ambience making you feel at home, plus at the end of every cook you get to eat what you made which for me the food is really delicious and easy to make.

Great fun! I really recommend Silom Cooking School.

I booked our course ahead via Trip Advisor and got my confirmation on the next day. We took the morning class that includes a short market tour. We all got cute baskets and carried fresh food from the market. The school is very nicely furnished, it stretches over 4 or 5 floors with air-conditioning and good cooking equipment. Our teacher was very knowledgeable, told us about all the spices and flavours and explained all the steps well. The food we cooked tasted delicious. I was very happy with the experience. A clear recommendation to anyone visiting Bangkok!

Was ok

The teacher is a very experienced cook and speaks good English. Somehow the class was full of Korean people and I think it is generally like that and the teacher spoke a lot of Korean which we didn't really understand. You don't do much in this class and the food is partially prepared for you to save time. I expected a bit more.

Amazing Thai cooking class!

We had a great time cooking 5 typical Thai food dishes...Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai, Papaya salad, Red Massaman Chicken curry and Mango sticky rice. The food was delicious and the class was very fun and organized. We had Gee as our chef and she was funny and I would highly recommend her and this cookery school. Great value too. We didn’t do the market part to buy the ingredients as we did the evening slot and ate what we cooked for dinner. Highly recommend!

Recommend this super cookery class

Really enjoyed it, very professionally done. Only note is the cookery book they give you does not reflect the recipes you cook on the day so take notes and photo's of what you cook. All absolutely delicious!! Lovely coffee shop next door if you are early.

We had a great time at this class. All of the people there were extremely friendly and helpful. The school is multilevel with classes on 3 floors. Simple dishes to learn . The facility was new and very well appointed. Would highly recommend it to all levels.

Perfectly organized cooking class. The highlight was our moderator Chu Chu, who looked after us so friendly, competent and motivated, it was a pleasure. Cooking school lovingly decorated in detail, very friendly staff and super clean! A unique experience, you should definitely have this cooking school! Everything is explained very well, all ingredients are bought fresh at the market with the cooking students and differences are explained. We chopped, cooked and ate, it was excellent! It was great fun! Clearly recommended!!!

Ich habe mit meinem Freund die vormittags cooking class in der Silom Thai Kochschule gemacht. Es hat uns beiden so viel Spaß gemacht ! Auch die Koch Lehrerin war super nett und lustig.kann ich nur jedem empfehlen und würde es sogar nochmal machen :)

盛り上げ上手で明るいお姉さんが楽しく教えてくれました。 今回のタイ旅行で食べたどこのお店よりも美味しかったです。 市場巡りや、お店の雰囲気もタイを感じられて人にオススメしたいと思いました。

Sehr empfehlenswert!

Super organisieter Vormittag, waren zuerst in einer kleinem Gruppe auf dem Markt und haben dort einige Zutaten für die Gerichte gekauft. Anschließend haben wir 5 Gerichte (+ Currypaste) selbst gekocht. Echt super und lehrreich!! Richtig sympatische Leute hier und am Ende des Kurses bekommt man noch ein kleines Rezeptbuch. Danke für das tolle Erlebnis♥️

日本でもこのような料理教室があると良いですね

自分で作ったタイ料理がこんなに美味しく仕上がるとは思いませんでした。日本食と違い、タイ料理ではスパイスや食材の組み合わせがいかに重要かがわかります。それらのほとんどはうまくデコレーションされていて、見栄えもよく準備され、写真に収めていくだけで楽しいものでした。残念ながら日本では調達できないものばかりなので、レシピを学ぶというより、本当の味を覚えるという意味で良い体験です。この経験があると、ローカルマーケットで売られているものが何か、再認識できます。

Trés belle expérience à l'école de cuisine Silom

Ce cours de cuisine est vraiment très bien organisé, le fait de faire le marché et de cuisiner ensuite les produits pour les déguster tous ensembles est vraiment bien. Les plats sont de très bonne qualité. Notre chef (Rung) est vraiment sympathique et rigolote. Ce cours permet aussi de comprendre les ingrédients utilisés dans la cuisine Thaï.

Trop bon !

Expérience au top partagée avec mon chéri, dans un groupe venus d'un peu partout (Malaisie, Corée, japon, Angleterre...). Vraiment très chouette de pouvoir discuter avec toutes ces personnes tout en apprenant à cuisiner des plats Thai délicieux. Un grand grand merci à notre chef Chin qui était d'une gentillesse extrême et avait un super sens de l'humour. On s'est éclatés !

Super sympa à faire en famille, en couple ou entre amis

Nous avons été très bien accueillis et avons passé un super moment avec Joo et son équipe. Le cours de déroule en anglais mais il est accessible même si votre anglais n’est pas parfait. Les jeunes enfants sont aidés par leurs parents. Voire le contraire 😬. Nous avons cuisinés trois plats et l équipe de Joo et elle-même avaient préparé une Mango Sticky Rice que nous avons dégustée à la fin du cours. Ne venez pas le ventre plein, les portions cuisinées sont copieuses. Joo est super sympa et nous avons bien ri tout au long du cours que nous avons partagé avec une famille coréenne et un jeune homme coréen lui aussi. . La barrière de la langue n’en a pas été une car la glace s est rapidement rompue grâce aux échanges de prises de photos dans l’action. Nous nous rappellerons du « Fire, Fire , nine o clock nine o clock et photo time «  qui ont rythmé toute la session. Attention sur la session de 18h00 il n y a pas de visite du marché ( normal, à cette heure tout est remballé ) . À faire et à refaire sans hésitation 😉
