Best cooking class experience ever!

You have no idea what's in your delicious Thai food? Would you like to know how coconut milk, cream and, oil are made? Or you just want to try some delicious Thai food. Then the course is definitely recommended. After my initial appointment was postponed, I came to my cooking class on Sunday and realised - it was a private lesson! Never before have I had all my questions answered so patiently during a cooking class. If I wanted to photograph something, repetition was never a problem. Highly recommended for many reasons. Regardless of the very nice chef, the very kind kitchen staff and the super clean environment - everything was perfect. It is a very special experience that you can only have in Thailand.

Amazing day cooking with Chef LeeZ. There were two of us in our class, one of whom had attended a class with Chef LeeZ in 2014 and wanted to return. We were both delighted with our cooking experience. Chef LeeZ explained all the ingredients, some of which have only become familiar to me on this trip, such as kafir lime leaf, galangal, holy basil and tamarind juice. All of the ingredients were fresh - we watched her open a coconut and grate the coconut and we helped to make a coconut milk and cream for a coconut sticky rice dessert. After finishing each dish, we tasted them and each time, looked at each other, and said: “this is so delicious”. Chef LeeZ made everything look easy and we are planning to try some of the recipes when we get home. We highly recommend Chef LeeZ to anyone wanting to learn Thai cooking. Sue & Graeme

High quality instruction, recipes and ingredients!

The dishes we made were absolutely incredible. Some of the best, if not THE best, that I had in Thailand. We made all pastes, sauces, etc. from scratch. Chef LeeZ is so passionate about food and Thai cuisine. She is an excellent educator and explained techniques more than other classes I've been to, so I walked away a better cook and more knowledgeable about Thai cooking traditions, techniques, and ingredients. I was lucky to get a small class but considering the quality of the class, I'm sure it's usually very busy so I reccomend booking early!

Our day with Chef Lee was the highlight of our trip. This is the best Thai cuisine you will have in Bangkok. Great for all levels, my husband went to French cooking school and I find cooking to be intimidating. Class was well paced, with both instruction and eating each dish while hot/fresh from the wok. Echoing the sentiments of previous reviews, everything was made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Have you ever thought about where coconut cream, chili paste/oil or tamarind sauce comes from…besides from a jar? Chef Lee easily teaches hands-on how to make all of these ingredients, that you will use in your dishes throughout the day. She trained in the US and is well travelled, she was very knowledgeable on ingredients we could likely source back home. She also keeps a very clean and organized kitchen. As for logistics, don’t let the distance be a second thought. We stayed in Thonglor, it was easy to get an (inexpensive) Grab both to and from class. Book this class and bring your appetite!

Good times and great food!

Chef Leez's class was absolutely fabulous! We were on our honeymoon and took her class. Not only was it incredibly informative but also highly entertaining! Chef Leez is charismatic, knowledgable, super fun and talented. We learned some great recipes and techniques that we brought back to the states. We only wish we could have brought her back as well! What a fun time we had. We miss you Chef Leez!!

Amazing cooking class! MUST DO in Bangkok

My mother and I did Chef Leez Thai cooking class in Bangkok. This was the best cooking class I have ever done. The food was absolutely AMAZING! We learned to make everything from scratch- even coconut milk and cream. We went to the market before the class to try fruits and see the ingredients we would be cooking with. Chef Leez taught us how to use everything and start from scratch. The food tastes SO good. This was the best Thai food I had in Thailand BY FAR. It is so worth it for the amount of time she spends teaching you. It ended up being just me and my mom so we lucked out. This is a must do experience in Bangkok and was a highlight of my trip to Thailand. I now know how to make amazing Thai food at home. Thank you for such a great class!!!

We were two guys and have had a privat Class. ChefLeez took us to a journey through how to cook real Thai Cuisine only using fresh ingrediences. We‘ve learned so much basic methods you need to get an authentic result. We never ever had heard about in several classes prior to this unique experience. I am amazed and thankful

I love Thai food and have been cooking a few dishes for years but I rely on crutches such as premade sauces and pastes. I always wanted to learn how to make delicious Thai food from scratch. This is why I signed up for this course. Chef Leez did not disappoint. We began by making coconut milk and cream from coconuts. Then we made our own Tom Yum paste, chili oil, and curry paste which we used to create the dishes we cooked and ate later. The amount of knowledge presented to us was overwhelming. I wish I could spend a couple months cooking with this wonderful woman. She was a delight to work with. The food we created was much better than anything I had ever made previously. Better than most Thai food one gets in restaurants too. Fresh ingredients made from scratch definitely makes a difference. This class will, without doubt, be one of my most memorable experiences of our time in Thailand. Thank you chef Leez!

Amazing recipes and so much fun

This is the second time I have taken Chef Leez cooking class. On both occasions I have attended with my work colleagues, who also attended the first time. The dishes are easy to make and they taste clean and fresh. They taste so good it is hard to believe they are so simple to make. Chef Leez is an amazing Chef who is willing to share her knowledge and she is highly entertaining. I highly recommend these classes to anyone who would like to learn how to make delicious traditional Thai food from scratch. After attending these classes, eating at the local Thai restaurant will never be the same.

The reputation is accurate- a great day out

Chef LeeZ has worked hard for her TripAdvisor ranking and it is worth it. This half-day activity was very hands-on and we both learned a lot. We were fortunate enough to be the only couple in class today so benefited from very individual attention. The approach is very much on translating Thai classics to the home kitchen and is very practical. It was particularly great how we made both an 'authentic Thai home' Tom Yum and then a 'tourist' Tom Yum to see the difference between the two. It is a bit of a schlep from downtown Bangkok- we had a dream run with traffic and it took us about 30mins with a Grab we booked the night before. The plus side of this though is that you will see a real Bangkok neighbourhood off the tourist track- during the market tour we were the only non-locals there. Chef LeeZ is an excellent teacher, ably assisted by her two excellent assistants (in our class, a 3:2 staff:student ratio!).

Immersive cultural experience through food

We didn't have to check into our flight home on our last day in Bangkok until midnight and we wanted our last day to be the best. We thought it would be fun as professional Thai food consumers (lol) and avid home chefs to take a cooking class. Chef LeeZ was highly recommended. We were a little concerned because it was described as covering the basics that it would be a beginner's course but we were intrigued by all the reviews and we were able to easily book a class online for our desired date. Let me say the reviews were not wrong! We re-learned the basics the RIGHT way - no short cuts! - and then went on to learn new techniques and traditions of Thai food shopping, prepping, cooking and presenting. Chef LeeZ was friendly, funny, and informative. Her English was very good and she was as much a skilled teacher as she was a chef. I can't recommend this experience enough to those wanting an immersive Thai experience that was so much more than a cooking class. Plus you walk away stuffed from all the best fresh Thai food you just made with ingredients from her garden and other hyper local sources!
