Great food tour with Sudarat!

My family of three (teenage daughter) did the food tour with Sudarat and loved it. Very informative, well paced and delicious. We got to choose our dishes and learned about more items that we actually ate (declined some offers to try things like the bugs). Sudarat was wonderful and I'd definitely do another tour with her. She was also very quick to respond to questions I had while planning.

Amazing food tour with Big!

Out group of 5 including 2 college aged kids had a great time doing a food tour with Big. He explained everything from the 7/11 to how taxi stands work along with all the food information and great tastings. He also gave us excellent history information as we went through the tastings. Big spends time between Thailand and the US, so he is especially good for Americans as he knows both cultures well. If you are in Bangkok, take a tour with Big!

Great local food and conversation

I had a great time with Patomporn, or JoJo. I was 1/2 hour early, and she came right away to the meeting place. She thought her English was not that good, but she was able to explain everything to me. There was only one word for a local fruit that she had to look up on google, and it did not have an English translation. She had to ask for thai chili peppers and spices for me. She was also able to get only a couple fruit to try instead of a kilogram of fruit. I highly recommend her, but you should have two people. It was a lot of food for one person, and I took some back with me.

unforgettable food adventure in Bangkok

I had such a great time with Piyaporn tasting my way around some of the best food Bangkok had to offer. one of the primary reasons I was visiting Bangkok was to try the food, and taking this tour with Piyaporn was like getting shown around by a local friend. her passion for food and sharing what she knew about Bangkok and the items we tried made the tour that much better. she even provided me with recommendations for items I wanted to try that we didn't get to try on the tour! I would highly recommend Piyaporn and this experience to anyone wanting to explore Bangkok's food scene.

Night in China town

Kim was a great host! He took a group of 5 of us around China Town on a fast paced and fun food tour! We ate plenty of food, sipped tea, rode a tuk tuk, and went out of his way for one last stope with our group. He answered questions for us and was funny! Thanks Kim!

Awesome

We (2 persons) did the ‘A taste of Bangkok: Street food tour’. It was a great afternoon. Sammy can tell great stories about the area and customs. We had some delicious tastings, and next time you know where to go. It is not “just” a food tour but the tour also tells a lot about culture and we visited a Hindu Temple, with a lot of explanation from Sammy. It really feels like you are walking the city with someone you already knew. The funniest thing was that the next day we visited one of the many many temples in Bangkok, in a complex with even more temples and many visitors, and we suddenly saw Sammy with two guest among the visitors. Such a coincidence. It felt like meeting a friend!

Fun and Informative

Kim was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about good quality food. A great start at a locals restaurant then a visit to a market with lots of tasting opportunities. It was also great to have Kim as our guide in China Town as it’s an amazing but all senses consuming place! The tea shop is not to be missed either. Thank you!

Hidden gems!

We did an evening street food tour with Sammy. Everything was perfect and all 6 members of our group loved it! We had 2 vegetarians and Sammy made a big effort to ensure they had great options too without comprising for anyone. Went to some fantastic vendors that we never would have found ourselves. Highly recommend doing a tour with Sammy!

Informative and tasty food tour

Great food, great guide

I had a chance to do a Thai street food tour with Araya and it could not have been a better experience. I was about 10 minutes late as I had to navigate myself around the BTS but Araya was patiently waiting for me. Her meeting place instructions were spot on. We started with an amazing fresh spring roll, then curry noodle with chicken at a Michelin rated spot, then a rum til to the market for some fruit and more meals. There were 10 things to try and taste. More food than one person could eat. The food was amazing…there was nothing I did not enjoy. The best part was learning about the different foods, ingredients and cultural aspects from Araya. She is a great ambassador for Thailand and our conversation over three hours spanned a lot of topics. I probably enjoyed that more than the food. If you are looking for a great way to spend 3-4 hours where you can experience a lot you need to book this tour with Araya. You will not be disappointed.

Best tour guide

Sammy was fantastic. 100% would recommend him to anyone. He is very personable and gives useful tips. Not only that, he was informative and attentive to our needs/wants/situation. We couldn’t make one booking but Sammy was understanding and even waiting for us the whole time while we were going through customs and waiting in traffic. But he made it up with our 2nd booking with him which was so generous and kind of him. He showed us around the city, popular temples, went on different transportation, and experienced delicious street food. He can customize your trip to your needs. I highly recommend him.

Best guide to explore the BKK food scene!

We absolutely loved our food tour with Sam! He was very friendly, laid back and extremely informative not just about food, but about Thailand and history as a whole. We love street food and trying different things, and he had great unique choices that we may not have found on our own. We would love to spend more time with Sam the next time we visit!

HIghlight of our trip

We booked a food tour with Sammy for myself, my husband, and my two children (aged 9 and 6). It exceeded our expectations. Sammy was such a perfect host, great with the kids, and teaching us a lot about the local area and the history. We got to eat so much food and try so many different things, and although we're adventurous, we wouldn't have had the confidence or knowledge to go into many of the places Sammy took us. The whole tour was really well paced, with a great mix of restaurants, street markets, and even a tour of the supermarket to show us some of the packaged goods we might want to buy to take home! He was so patient, enthusiastic and kind. Thank you so much Sammy, for what really was the highlight of our trip!!

Great experience!

Sammy was really caring and took us to great places for tasting different samples of street food, all delicious :) We also visited a supermarket to check what we could buy to bring home and cook Thai food. It was a lot of food, so we could not finish it up. He also shared a lot of info about his country. We asked him for not spicy food and only in one place, even if he requested it, it was a bit spicy. I highly recommend the tour.

Splendid experience

We had a great time with Araya. She showed us round some of the places you can get great food. She was able to answer our questions and gave us loads of information about Bangkok and Thailand. Highly recommended to kick off your trip to Bangkok

We did the Street Food tour with Nat and my only regret is not doing it at the very beginning of our trip, when we could have benefited the most from everything we learned. Nat's English is basically perfect. He met us on time at the meeting point and answered all of our questions. This is a fun tour where you learn a lot about food and Thai culture. You will be STUFFED with food by the end so pace yourself and make sure you leave enough room to try everything.

Great street food tasting in Bangkok !

Kim took us through 4 different places where we could taste various dishes, desserts, fruits, drinks... All of a sudden, every food item which looked new and sometimes strange, turned out to have a name and often, to be delicious! It was great to be able to taste all these typical meals not blindly, thanks to the help of our enthusiastic guide ! Even though Kim was a nice guide and we haven't paid for anything we tried during the tour, I though it was a bit expensive compared to the prices of the food products we were buying and the poor cultural/historical explanations we were getting around the food. Overall a good experience - and I would do it again, but a bit expensive to my opinion.

Great street fodd tour!

We really liked our tour with local guide Araya. She is super friendly and showed us around Bangkok. She took her time to explain us about the history of the city and answered our questions. She took us to local restaurants and let us taste yummy dishes. She asked about our preferences and adapted the tour based on our wishes. She really is amazing and I would recommend choosing her for your Bangkok street food tour!!

She is top tier. Read the room well. Anticipated what we wanted to eat. Personalized every experience. Took us around in comfortable air conditioned car. Called me a movie star and that was very important to me. Extremely hospitable. Brought us to a pharmacy to help us with tricky meds. Sweetest tour guide ever and we hope to meet her again! Delicious and authentic Thai food tasting

We had a fantastic time in our food you with Piyaporn. It was a great combination of delicious food and a ton of great insights about Thai culture and traditional food. We tried a combination of sweet and savory street food and other wonderful dishes like a super tasty Kao Soi that my daughters loved. Piyaporn was super nice, flexible and knowledgeable and kept us away from the crowds. We were very happy (and full) customers!

Kim did an amazing job showing us some amazing places we never would have found on our own. The food he chose was so good and he really looked after us. Highly recommended!

Great time with Jik

Our tour guide Jik was informative and fun :) He showed us around a local market and was very helpful when we arrived at the wrong metro exit. We walked around the tour and Jik helped us try all the things we wanted to try and recommended others to try. All very good. At the end Jik had prepared for several street dishes for us to try at a sit down area. But we had to leave early due to other meetings we had booked. Jik was very helpful getting us to back to the metro and showing us how to get to where we needed to. Highlights included street sausages, mangosteen sampling, durian sticky rice, mango sticky rice.

Best decision ever

We did the tour at the beginning of our Thailand trip and it was the best decision. After Araya showed us really cool food locations and especially the Thai specialities and let us taste them. We could better choose the food for our further restaurant visits. Thanks to Araya, we discovered super delicious places in Bangkok, including the best noodle curry ever.

Great food tasting experience.

We had our food experience trip with Piyaporn of the Withlocals organization on the second day of our holiday and it was one of the highlights of our journey. My husband explained Piyaporn that this was our second trip to Thailand so that we are already familiar with some Thai food. Piyaporn adjusted her tasting experience for us and had us taste food we had not eaten before. She gave us background on the food which we found very interesting. We had a wonderful time and would recommend everyone to do a tour with Piyaporn.

Amazing food tour

Araya was an exceptional tour guide, good at communicating with us from our first contact. The tour itself ran really well and she listened to our likes and dislikes. The food she introduced us to was amazing and she even sent us a list of what we had tried for our reference later in our trip. What we didn't eat she collected and donated to the homeless which sums up her wonderful character and personality. She is obviously an experienced tour guide and is extremely knowledgeable about the city and the Thai culture. Thankyou Araya for a wonderful experience.

Highly recommended tour

From the minute we booked this tour, Kim gave us a fantastic experience. He contacted us to discuss what we were loooing for, what our spice levels were and anything else we wanted included. When we met him on the day of the tour we just knew we were going to have a great time. He is so knowledgeable and clearly has a passion about Thai cooking. He took us to an amazing food market and as we wandered round all the stalls he explained so much about the local culture. The food he chose for us was incredible. We have never tasted the like before. He even took us to a tea shop where we got to experience and taste different varieties of teas whilst hearing about how you brew them. It was incredibly interesting. I would highly recommend this tour and Kim is an amazing guide.

A 1st Day Must

We love tours using With Locals and Araya’s tour was a fantastic way to start off in Thailand for our first visit. Food is essential to life and Araya shared street food and a couple of markets in a way that allowed us to feel comfortable going it on our own afterwards. She shared the history of many Thai dishes and the food in general but best of all she gave us the opportunity to try things that we never would have had she not been there to guide us. Not only to we recommend this tour with Araya we recommend you start your trip with her as well!

We had a fantastic evening with Araya at the market, tasting new foods, learning about Thai history and culture, wandering quiet back alleys (yes there are quiet spots in Bangkok!) and so much more. Best few hours of our trip to Thailand!

Streetfood tour with a real chef

If you're into your food, what could be better than a streetfood tour with a real chef? Chef Hnoi is the best guide we've ever had. She adapted the tour for two veggies; she met us at a pier and took us across the river to a real locals market. The food was incredible - so many things we'd never have tried without a local to guide us, and her foodie knowledge let us into all sorts of secrets on how things are made. We even went to a local temple. Chef Hnoi's English is perfect, we had so much fun chatting. And her communication beforehand was excellent, easy WhatsApp messages keeping us informed. You won't regret it - just book her!!

Amazing tour

It was our 4th stay in Bangkok and we love it. After meeting Araya we love it even more, because she introduced us into places and dishes who had been hidden to us before. And she did it in a wonderful way.

Best first day of our first visit to Bangkok!

This was our first day and first visit to Thailand. Chef Hnoi was exceptional with us newbies. Her warm smile, calm demeaner, and perfect English set the tone for a delightful market ramble. Meeting at Tha Chang dock made it super easy for us to find one another. We jumped on a boat and shot across to Wang Lang Market for a leisurely food crawl. Everything we tried was absolutely new to us and delicious. We couldn't eat another thing all day (except that Mango sticky rice we got to go). Chef Hnoi is a pleasure to talk with, quite the traveler herself, and knows her Thai foods. In addition to our amazing tasting experience, Chef Hnoi helped me buy some lovely linen clothes and took us to a silk bazaar when we asked about buying fabric. Thrilled by our time with Chef Hnoi, we hoped to arrange a full day with her and a driver to visit Elephant Haven and the River Kwai / Burma-Thai Railway area. She was busy, but set us up with a colleague, Nui. Since Chef Hnoi arranged it all, we are confident this next adventure will be amazing.

Tasty local food tour

Sammy was great. Initial contact and meet up time and location was smooth. He was cognizant of my wife's gluten sensitivity. He took us to a local street food market near the subway where we tried the best papaya salad I have ever had. (Almost all of the food is the best I've ever had) We went to several other spots and Sammy knew to slow down on the heavy foods when he saw we were getting stuffed. It was very hard to not try and finish everything that was ordered for us but we knew there was more food coming. At the end of the tour in Chinatown, Sammy gave us some additional local insights and hints and we parted ways. Would definitely recommend a tour with Sammy.

A perfect evening with Chef Hnoi and Bangkok's incomparable street food scene

I absolutely recommend taking this street food tour with Chef Hnoi. She took us to Chinatown where we sampled a variety of dishes. Chef Hnoi was sensitive to my dietary preferences (I don't eat pork, which I'm sure you can understand presents significant limitations for me eating street food in an Asian country) and was sure to find food I could enjoy. We had a mix of savoury and sweet meals and Chef Hnoi took the time to explain the components of each dish and how it fits into the Thai flavour preferences. She clearly has a wonderful rapport with the food vendors in the area, who all greeted her warmly. One vendor even trusted her to manage his pot of doughnuts while he ran inside his home for a light. My husband and I left really satisfied, not only with the food but with Chef Hnoi's excellent company. I truly cannot recommend her enough.

Take this foodie walking tour!

We had the best day of our holiday thus far after meeting Araya at the designated meeting point. Her pre-meet communication with us was perfect and we had no trouble finding her despite being unfamiliar with the city. Araya took us to five eating spots and tailored the choices to suit our preferences. Each of them was good of its type and Araya’s extensive historical and cultural knowledge made the 2.5 hours pass in a flash. We would recommend Araya to anyone with an interest in Thai food, history and culture.

Kapunka Chef Hnoi

Bangkok is an assault on the senses and taste buds in the best possible way. It felt wonderful and reassuring to have a guide like Chef Hnoi to crack the touristy exterior and allow us to swim into and be able to enjoy, experience and taste a small bit of the real Bangkok. Chef Hnoi is a very personable and well informed guide - we left feeling like we had made a new friend. Good taste

Food was fantastic and just the right portions and our guide was nice and knowledgeable, this is a good tour to really taste authentic Thai food.

Learn and taste Thai street food and culture

Great activity with good tasting food. It was educational and I'm so glad we did this at the beginning of our trip to teach us about Thai food and what we might like or not like to order going forward with our time in Thailand. Having it be private with just our group was great. We got to sample many foods and pleasantly I was able to eat everything even being gluten free. My only problem was they told us to meet a train station but it was the wrong train station which led to some confusion. So glad we did this, thanks for having us!

Delicious Experience

My traveling companion and I are still debating our favorite dish on the street food tour. It's so hard to decide! Piyaporn introduced us to so many new dishes, deserts, and drinks while also sharing delicious renditions of some of Thailand's classics. Her knowledge of Thailand's culinary history and culture added depth to the experience. Can't recommend enough!
