Chaophraya Cruise - Amazing Dinner Cruise

Overall average experience

Staff were friendly and attentive, but the food was very average, drinks weren't included and there was a hidden cost on the drinks you ordered. I'd recommend paying a little more for a better dinner cruise experience.

Good experience

Good experience but gets a little hot in April. I would wear shorts next time. But food was good and the view was really nice.

Fun cruise

Fun cruise. Entertainment, views, complimentary drink, OK buffet... relaxing and fun evening. Staff were excellent.

Amazing river /dinner cruise !

Best money spent on our trip. Great food great entertainment.. not sure how but we were vip at the front of the boat. The sights from the boat were amazing . 45 us dollars is a steal for this can't go for a meal at burger King for that price

Great night, good food and drinks, had a bit of a hiccup when we arrived because of the language barrier but we got it all sorted, live band onboard, great atmosphere

A Fun Night Out.

Good fun. Very professional entertainment. The singers were great fun. A bit chaotic getting on the boat but it worked well.

First evening in Bangkok

Food varieties are ample, entertainment is beyond expectation, services are very friendly and the lighted sceneries are just incredible!

Loved the dinner cruise!

Views were amazing! The food was plentiful and the service was great. I would recommend getting there early as there is a line to check in. Entertainment was great and overall of great value.

Good cruise

Enjoyed the cruise , entertainment and food The line up and boarding is choas and you can easily get lost in the crowds as needs a better system to ease people's anxiety before boarding

Amazingly, we enjoyed ourselves!

Not sure about amazing but it was certainly a fun cruise with drinks and dinner down the river and back! The entertainment is baffling, seriously lame singers but kind of cheerful and enjoyable at the same time. In the end we were dancing in a Conga line to BRAZIL while people giggled their way around the food island. Food was OK, seriously good french fries and a few other items, but come for the view especially the nighttime lit up Grand Palace and temples along the river. Service was fine, people were very nice and we enjoyed the evening.

Great views, good food, fun entertainment

We had a table for 2 by the window overlooking the beautiful scenery of Bangkok. The dinner buffet was versatile catering to many tastes. We were free to explore the boat and took many pictures of temples and city lights by night. The entertainers were personable and invited guests to participate in dancing and singing. A conga formed dancing around the boat with participants of all ages.

Outstanding experience

The scenic boat ride was absolutely beautiful. The energy the hard working employees put into making the evening a true hit. Outstanding experience! Will not be forgotten.

Great fun and perfect way to see the city

We have used this cruise. This is excellent quality! We went for Dinner. It was very good experience.

Absolutely amazing from the food the entertainment then finishing watching the midnight fireworks 🎆 its one for the bucket list

Good value and good entertainment

Had a great time. The entertainment was good. I was worried when we got sat up the front because of the reviews about noise. It was a bit loud but there were some tables that emptied out and we were able to move early. There are 2 levels. We were inside on the bottom level. You can go up the top and explore if you wish. Food was good, not spectacular but enjoyable enough. At the end the waitresses joined in with dancing and entertainment which was cool. Overall a cruise worth doing. I do recommend getting there early to check in just so you work out where you are going. You can catch a shuttle boat straight there which we did for 30 baht per person. There's lots to look at while you are waiting for your cruise

Bland River

The food was a disappointment and would compare it to average cafeteria fare. This was made worse by walking around the stalls at Asiatique while waiting to board as everything there looks and smells amazing. The music was poor with a selection of mid seventies American AM easy listening (Carpenters etc) songs you have heard a million times and wish you hadn't. Some non English Asian pop kept my attention but too little too late. The buildings lining the river were not as brightly lit as expected but the illuminated bridge at the turning point and fireworks were good. The ride was fine but I would eat at Asiatique either before or after the cruise and just have a drink on the boat.

Must do the river by night

Wow! The river by night is stunning. Fantastic experience and would recommend. Good food and service. Entertainment was fantastic.

A very Thai experience filled with of energy

This was a very Thai experience. A little bit cheesy but great fun. We were worried that as a buffet that the food would run out or would be of poor quality. Actually the food was very good and was replenished throughout the cruise. The performers had a lot of energy and kept us entertained. We were sitting near the back near the speakers which made conversation a bit difficult but otherwise we enjoyed it.

Wonderful cruise on the river

I decided to try a cruise with my friends and it turned out to be an awesome cruise. We were all assigned to the upper deck of the boat and the views were beautiful. Food was nice with a vast choice and the crews were helpful. If you are hesitating on this trip you should try it out. Definitely worth it!

Very Bad experience!!!

It was terrible!!! We expected a beautiful and calm cruise with thai cultured presentations. What did we get? Loud American Disco Music with Polonaise Dance like in our home town in Germany. They recommended to be at the pier at 5:30pm. We got on the boat at 7:15pm. Why meeting 5:30pm? They for sure wanted us to spend money in the shopping area. The whole experience was upsetting!!!

Highly recommend if you want a great night out

Had an amazing night. Even in the thunderstorm it was awesome. Great food, great entertainment. A fun way to end a night

Worth every minute

Overall great, but be warned of what happens before

Firstly, the positive. Lovely buffet food (once you get past the usual race to get it), great service and fabulous entertainment which ends up in a mini party. All to the backdrop of the Bangkok riverside skyline! However, the push to get you there on time is ridiculous. We rushed to get there well before 7pm and then just waited for an hour as it started later than the advertised time. In terms of it being a five star experience, I’m not sure how standing around in a crowd waiting with no queuing system and no information whilst a balloon seller tells you off can be counted as five star. I felt we were treated like cattle. If you can deal with that. It’s worth the wait.

Not recommended

Terrible experience , we had a confirmed ticket , but asked an evening went to the pier to be told that the cruise had no place , the operator was incompetent , they could have messaged / called / mailed on the previous day same morning, shoddy service , very disappointing for someone travelling from afar x

Fun!

I went with my wife and 4 year daughter. We had a great time. The crew was great. The food was very good. Fresh and a nice range of items. The atmosphere was really fun. It was much more like a party than I was expecting but everyone seemed to be having fun.

The service, food and performance were amazing

We enjoyed this cruise very much. The crew were very helpful and even freshly prepared our vegetarian food. There is a huge selection of food on the cruise. The cruise sights of Bangkok were great and we enjoyed the live music and the singers were super friendly and dropped by our table to sing. A wonderful experience in Bangkok

Good experience

We really had a goodtime we enjoy the food, live music while we were eating, the staff are nice, good food.. it was very good to relax and enjoy the view of the city.

Average

The food was divine, but the Chairs were shaky and the tables definately need replacing. They are well worn and old. This does not make a person with a Disability or a heavier person fell safe. Please address these issues.

Excellent dinner cruise

The view of the city from the cruise was beautiful. The buffet was excellent and the singers were very good. It was a lovely evening.

Fantastic night, best river cruise you could ever choose

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing. Most other cruises did not have entertainment the singers were fabulous on Chaophraya Cruises getting us all up dancing, clapping. When we went past the other cruises they were taking photos of our one. The food was plentiful with lots of choices Thai, Indian, Chinese and Western cuisine. Staff were brilliant like have your own personal waiter the whole night. Would go again and I am a harsh critic but could not find fault in anything. Tricia

Guide in Thai not English; table next to the loud speaker, which ruined the evening.

We bought tickets for the "Amazing Dinner Cruise" with entertainment and guide in English. The entertainment might have been ok if we hadn't been seated right next to the loud speaker that carried the sound over the whole boat. It was not only impossible to speak to one another; the sound was loud to the point of pain. As for the English guide, it was almost non-existent. The host said, for example, "Wat Arun on the left" in English and then four or five sentences in Thai. We knew what the sites were before boarding and would have wanted to find out more about them than their names. The views were lovely of course and the food was ok for mass catering. The experience could have been so much better had we been away from the speaker, but then some other poor person would have been seated there and would now be writing this review!

Overall bad, but entertainment was entertaining

Don’t choose this option for dinner cruise unless you want cold food (without any description of content), bad service - feels like the boat is understaffed - and noisy (but entertaining) entertainment. Your money can be spent much better! For the views you can take a classic taxi ferry through Chao Phraya and regarding the food, you are much better of eating at the restaurants along the riverside. The food is better and the same sightseeing for a fraction of the price.

The food was bland and the table was right next to the speakers which resulted in a bad headache by the end of the cruise

Fun family experience

This was a fun experience for me and my family. The food was average, but the overall experience was fun and exciting. The cruise was a good way to see the city. I would recommend this trip.

One Night in Bangkok

The experience overall was good to very good. The shore crew and on board serving crew were well organized and helpful. The food was average. Selection ok, but not 100% of the cooked items remained hot until served. So much of the serving were cool to cold despite the serving flame warmers. The entertainment was good and everyone seemed to enjoy the singing and interaction. The toilets were very clean which is important for most civilized humans. We were seated downstairs. The windows were filthy dirty on the outside with likely sea spray. It wasn t windy and i suspect they just don t understand the importance of clean windows for a tour on scenic river for photography. I would recommend the experience for 1st time guests, but we won t be doing it again. The biggest challenge is using public transit to get there. Be prepared to ask for directions once you exit the BTS train station. Remember the nearest station is stiil 2-3 km away from the ASIATIQUE dinner cruise departure point which requires extra time to wait and transfer to the free water taxi to the cruise departure point. Maybe 15-20 min transfer travel time add to your trip schedule.

Great way to see Bangkok by night

A great way to see the city lit up at night and the entertainment was decent. Don't expect amazing food though.

Cold basic food, disorganized, good entertainment

When we booked we received a confirmation number and the directions to the boat. When we arrived to check in we were told we were not confirmed and the boat was full. After some unhappy discussions they found us a place on the boat. Just takes the fun out of the evening right away. Waiting to board the boat is an absolute cluster. There is no signage, hundreds of people milling around trying to line up and there are no cue lines other than a man yelling who you cannot hear unless you are within 2 meters from him. Finally got on the boat, the cruise was nice at night and the entertainment on the top deck was very good. Now the dinner. The food was cold and basic. If you rushed and got in line first it might have been ok but we did not do that as we wanted to enjoy a drink first. When we were returning to our table with our cold food we noticed people with shrimp on their plates. There were no shrimp at the buffet. Turns out there were shrimp at the bottom deck buffet which nobody told us about. We went down to get some twice but both times there were none there. Seems you have to rush to that buffet also to get a hot variety of food. We have travelled to a lot of country’s, taken many dinner cruises and this was by far the worst ever. They need to hire someone from Germany or Japan(someone with organizational skills) to straighten out that entire mess. If it wasn’t for the good singer’s on the top deck it would deserve a minus rating.

Fun NYE dinner cruise, worth it.

Took the NYE 2023 cruise, it was pricy compared to the standard dinner cruise but had a great time, try to get an upper level table. Fantastic DJ's. Buffet was ok, not great, I would definitely recommend.

Very enjoyable

It was very busy to get food and the choice of food was not very big, plus the queuing system for the boat was a little confusing not just for us but everyone

Fun day out

Boat ride was amazing. Tour guide Victor wonderful and spoke good English, and the coach driver was a bundle of fun and a great driver. Thank you so much. Thoroughly recommend. Also good lunch!

Great Food, Music and Sights! Awesome

What a wonderful night. The boat was beautiful and very full when we went recently. The food is a buffet and there is many choices and you wont go hungry. I recommend the fried noodles as so much flavour. They had live music which was fun and we saw Manny sights. Fantastic views as well.

Review for Chaopraya River Cruise

During our recent business trip to Bangkok, Thailand, we enjoyed this cruise trip. The cruise provided top entertainment for two hours trip with spectacular views, dance, live music especially the female singer was fantastic, and you'll love them on your way via the Chaophraya river. . Starting with the welcome drink, they provide wide range of food and beverages from starters to main course to desserts. If you're vegetarian you'll have to inform them earlier for them to make some arrangements. . Overall, the cruise was excellent and I would highly recommend this if you're in for some chill time.

Great foods but

Had a great time. Only negative comment i would say is that there should had been an announcement that there are different menu or foods on the upper deck. I would have enjoyed it better.

Like pigs to the slaughterhouse

Arrival 5:30 p.m., departure 7:15 p.m.??? , basic food and some empty dishes if you do not react quickly to access the buffet. Guide in English??? no audible information on the boarding platform and no information on places to see. The guide has a table like the tourists?? I limit myself to this because everything is said in the previous negative messages which apparently have not brought any improvements.
