I really enjoyed the experience and learned so much about food. Som was really helpful and knowledgable showed us around the food market tasting various things and provided alternatives if we could not find it back home. The school was held in such a relaxing venue and great place to cook. I did want more hands on in cooking but due to time and the 4 recipes we went through it was limited but enjoyed it all. Thank you Som to you and your team for making it a positive experience.

Fantastic way to learn to cook simple but delicious Thai food at home

My husband and I booked on an afternoon cooking class, after really enjoying our class we did whilst on holiday in Kuala Lumpur. The whole experience was great fun and one that we would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting to learn about Thai food and culture. We were collected from our hotel at 12.30pm and then taken to the cooking school about 30 minutes drive away. We then spent a lovely afternoon with four other guests learning about Thai ingrediants and cooking (and eating!) a variety of dishes ourselves. I was the only vegetarian on the course but was very well catered for and was able to cook the veggie equivalent of all the dishes that the others were making. All the food was quite straightforward to make which meant that we left feeling confident that we could try them ourselves at home. All the staff were friendly, knowledgable and fun and really seemed to want to make our day special. They even gave us fridge magnets with a photo they had taken of us all individually to take home and then also emailed us the other pictures they had taken of us throughout the afternoon! Fantastic afternoon which filled us up so much that we didn't need dinner that evening! I would recommend this to anyone!

Beautiful Open air cooking school

We had a wonderful time at Baipai cooking school, the site is beautiful with large open air spaces. Pop and Charles were super nice and they both spoke great english. The dishes were simple, pretty much fail proof. It was very good as an introduction to Thai cooking. The market we visited before arriving at the school is very clean and organised compared to other markets in town. The only thing to keep in mind is the Bangkok traffic is crazy. If you are getting picked up in the city, they might choose a nearby location for you to get to from your hotel.

Cooking class on Honeymoon

It was such an enjoyable experience for me and my husband for our honeymoon. 100% recommend for anyone that loves to cook, or just looking for a fun experience

A superb Thai experience

Started with introducing us to some of the core flavours and ingredients used in thai cooking, including herbs picked directly in their garden! Both Pop and chef Charles were really friendly, giving clear explanations and helpful tips. Was really impressed at how our food turned out, and enjoyed both the variety of dishes we learned and getting to use ingredients we weren't familiar with. Also a beautiful venue, and the transport to/from our accommodation was useful. Really highly recommend!

An enjoyable morning spent with pleasant people on a beautiful property

We cooked 4 dishes and ate them all. Go hungry! All the hard work is done for you so sit back and relax. Your knife skills will not be tested.

Crash Course in Cooking

Loved the cooking class. My teenage son and my aged mother could keep up with the pace and there were helpful folks at hand to guide us through the various steps in creating a complete Thai meal - appetizer, salad, curry and dessert. Charles is very clear in his instructions and provided some valuable tips. Loved the ambience as well. Overall great experience in the world of Thai cooking!

Amazing cooking class!

Gorgeous property, amazing chef and guide and delicious food! The chef was very attentive and demonstrated a great passion for cooking. Our class was small so it was very focused and intimate. I couldn't have been more pleased with this cooking experience. Thank you SO much Baipai! I'll definitely be back when next I visit Bangkok.

It was an very enjoyable experience. It made me look like an expert after the course. The staff were extremely helpful ensuring that you got things done correctly. Pop and Charles handled the class very well. Value for your money. I will definitely take up more classes with them in the future.

One of the best cooking experiences I've had.

I definitely give high marks to not only the cooking school but our guide Pop as well. She is an excellent guide and showed us around the market, tailoring specific parts to our groups taste before taking us to the school. Once there with her and Chef Mai we were taught how to not only cook the food, but what goes into the preparation as well. I just had some friends land in Bangkok today so I hope they are able to see them before they leave. Thanks to the Baipai Cooking School and staff for capping off my trip to Thailand on a high note.

Learning to cook a delicious but simple meal

I wanted to learn how to cook a Thai dish and I was not disappointed by this experience. The day started with a visit to the market where various fruits and vegetables were explained and tasted. The cooking instructors were clear and the menu and ingredients were things that could be easily purchased in the USA. This was an experience that I would happily repeat.

Easy cooking

The cooking school is in a beautiful, tranquil location and staff are very friendly and helpful. The dishes we made were delicious. One complaint is that the prawns were already cooked, and the chef made a couple of sauces for us. I would have liked to have done these tasks myself. The other complaint is more with Buffalo Tours I guess than Bai Pai. I was traveling alone and had been picked up from my hotel and shared the trip with three American college students who were in the class with me. We had all been getting along really well. When it came to the end and we were walking back to the van when suddenly a man and woman came and hustled me off to another vehicle. I wasn’t given the opportunity to say goodbye to the others, and I really felt that was in poor spirit by the providers. Other than that, it was a lovely experience which I would recommend to others interested in a basic overview of a Thai cooking.

Solo visit

I travelled to Bangkok with my wife and my 5 month old son. before booking the course we called Viator to confirm if my wife and son can come along to observe as my wife would have to attend to the little one so wouldn't be able to cook. Viator contacted the school and they agreed for my wife to come and observe. When we got to Bangkok we called the school to arrange pickup and they then informed us that there was no space for my wife to sit which was not true. I continued alone to the course as it was too late to find another decent cooking class. Overall the the day was good, the instructor was attentive but only 2 of the 4 courses were worth while. I would recommend this course so as long as you don't have any special requirements.

Great experience!

Had an eventful day with June and Chef Noi and the rest of the staff. The class is held in a very nice location, where you will arrive after being picked up from your hotel in Bangkok. We made 4 dishes, including 1 dessert. The chef will first prepare the dish and explain all the steps. Then everyone will get to taste the chefs food, so you know what taste you will be aiming for. You will then go to your station and cook the food for yourself, with guidance from the staff if you need. Another positive is that you get to take the recipes back home, so you can try it out in your own home! I will return for another class next time I'm in Bangkok!

Fantastic experience!

We had a wonderful time at this morning cooking class! Amazing four courses with cute recipe cards and brilliant staff who were knowledgeable and fun! We learnt so much and if we come back to Bangkok would certainly do another visit!

Time Well Spent

Authentic and friendly. The place is very nice with a serene atmosphere. I didn’t know what to expect but the whole experience was top notch. I highly recommend this class and coming from a person who has little cooking experience.

Fullfilling experience

Another way to spend time getting to know Thai culture is to enroll in a Thai cooking class. Experience- wise, it was time well- spent and fullfilling for a Thai foodie like me. Included in your fee is being picked up and droped off from your hotel in Central Bangkok and back. With professsional (and funny english-speaking) chef Puu and assistant Oui, I got to know the basic thai ingredients, make curry paste from scratch, learned 4 new recipes, got to eat my own cooked Thai meal and gained a bunch of friends. Wonderful Class

We were a group of four with varying levels of experience. The staff at the school were wonderful and professional. We all had a great time. The school picked us up from our hotel which was a good thing because we would never have found it on our own. If I am ever in Bangkok again, I would book this experience. It is not to be missed.

Very enjoyable experience

The visit to Baipai was definitely a worth while experience. Although the cost is a bit more than some of the other schools it was worth the extra expense. The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating and small gestures like a photo at the end of the class adds to experience. I would definitely recommend this cooking school

Wonderful!

Best cooking class I ever attended. The school offers a pick up/drop off service, both chefs were very knowledgeable, patient and very nice to work with and easy to communicate with. It was easy to follow the instructions and I enjoyed very much the kindness and hospitality. An additional point is the visit to the market before the class, were ingredients and produce is explained and also tasted!! Very recommendable!

The Baihai Cooking class was without a doubt one of the best things I did on my holiday in Bangkok.

We were picked up from our hotel and brought to this beautiful garden with waterfalls and so much greenery. Everything was set out and arranged so well and the food we cooked delicious and we got to try the chef’s dishes before we then made them ourselves. I made satay tofu skewers (everyone else did satay chicken), then savoury prawn salad, then chilli mushrooms and tofu (everyone else did chilli beef) then panang prawn curry and we made the curry paste from scratch. We were given all the recipes to keep so will definitely try this at home Both Puu and Pae were so lovely and funny and had very good English. They made this day so enjoyable and were very patient with us so thank you Such good value for money and a great day out I cannot recommend this enough and would give this ten stars if I could.

Awesome cooking experience in Bangkok

This is my first time to try cooking class, it was a very nice. The school sent staff to pick us from the hotel and dropped us (at JJ market) after the class. The school located at the district of JJ market, so you can spend a trip there. The cooking chef and assistants have good English and able to explain the food and cooking in an easy way. I am glad to know some more knowledge about cooking and food. Although the class fee is a bit expensive compared with others, it still worth to try and enjoy. I like the gift from the school ( a fridge magnet with our photo), to remind us the fun of cooking.

<p>Baipai Cooking School 10/10</p> <p>This is a unique amazing experience that I highly recommend to anyone in Bangkok. It was my first cooking class and my first experience in cooking, so even as a beginner I found it easy and had a great time.</p> <p>I got picked up at 8:30 from my hotel in a nice clean air-conditioned van. The organization was excellent Baipai school called my hotel to let me know that the car is stuck in traffic and they will be 5 minutes late. At 8:35 sharp the car arrived. We made another stop to pick up 2 more participants. We were only 6 people in the van and in the class 5 adults and a 5 years old boy Leo. </p> <p>Getting to the school was a 30 minutes drive, as the villas door opens and the car gets inside, you feel as if youve transported out of the city to a beautiful oasis. There is a beautiful water pond with live fish and a small fall. The greenery and the plants made a nice scenery contrast to the city concrete. I was in awe, the attention of details in building the Baipai cooking school is mesmerizing. Just to visit the school is an experience that shouldnt be missed. </p> <p>Pae our class coordinator welcomed us, offered us free drinks coffee, tea, water and explained to us what we will be cooking and presented us with a small book of menus. We were also offered aprons and a towel each. We were introduced by Pae to different herbs and ignredients that are planted in the school garden. We each had two station a prep station and a cooking station, every thing is organized and laid out perfectly.</p> <p>Paes English is perfect, she is very articulate, patient and fun. She answered all our questions and assist us throughout the day. When I struggled in wrapping my chicken with Pandanus leaves she was there for me and showed me again how it is done, Im now an expert : </p> <p>We learned to cook: Coconut sticky rice with Mango, Papaya Salad, Chicken in Pandanus Leaves, Red curry paste, then Red Curry with Pork/Chciken/Tofu and Bamboo. Chef Eye made things look so easy and simple, as Ive never cooked before I didnt struggle at all. Even Leo who is 5 years old managed to cook all the meals and when I asked him he said he had fun. As a gift we were given colored detailed recipe cards with all what we cooked, a fridge magnet with a picture of myself while cooking. </p> <p>Once again Id like to thank Pae, Chef Eye and the whole team @Baipai Cooking School.</p> <p>We enjoyed eating the food that we cooked, we had a great lunch and I personally had a blast. By 13:30 we were done. The staff asked where do we want to be dropped, you can ask for a different destination other than the hotel, the same van dropped us back to our hotels. </p> <p>I highly recommend Baipai Cooking School to anyone visiting or living in Bangkok. It is an experience that you should not miss 10/10.</p>

This was absolutely the best cooking...

<p>This was absolutely the best cooking class I've ever taken! We were shown how to prep the ingredients for each of four recipes, then we had individual stations to cook our dishes. We then sat and ate each one- an appetizer, soup, curry and dessert. Most classes I've taken, most of the prep is already done, and participants sharing the cooking of just one of the dishes. Jun and Fya showed us the ingredients growing in the garden, and gave us a great deal of detailed information about how to handle the ingredients. We received all the recipes in a handy holder. I definitely feel I can go home and replicate the dishes. <br/> The cooking area is open air, It was fine in the morning, and there was plenty of cold water on hand to drink. But be prepared if you're sensitive to the heat.</p>

<p>Loved this amazing place! The grounds and place feel like a beautiful spa getaway. Fun and informative staff. We made and ate: a beef salad, a chicken stir fry dish, pad Thai, and a dessert. Needless to say, you won't leave hungry! My 12 year old chose this activity and we all had a great time :)</p>

The tour guides were friendly, helpful, and taught basic stuff without making you feel like an utter fool in the kitchen. All the equipment was top-notch, the place was out-of-this-world, and ample times was given to make food and socialize.</p>

They even send you photos taken during the class which is a thoughtful and gesture. I could not recommend this experience enough.</p>

<p>Excellent tour! Great way to learn about the ingredients that goes into Thai food, the difference in the various peppers and how to safely handle them. The different herbs that change the flavor of the dish, by the intensity of the flavor, like seasoning Soy Sauce, Galangal vs Ginger, different Basil's, once you taste this, you understand what you are missing.<br/> Also this is an individual cooling class so each person prepare their dish, A group activity was grating coconut to make coconut cream.<br/> The cooking techniques apply also to all cooking, like heating pans, checking oil temperature, the thing I found I really need at home is a Wok burner.<br/> The staff was great, the setting was excellent, with garden, partially open air classroom and kitchen, excellent afternoon, fellowship, meeting new people, maybe from your home country. Different than museum or temple tour as everyone is focused on cooking and tasting the final product.<br/> To Viator, Please try to list this as a Morning and Afternoon class, I asked and did afternoon, this way you/I did a Temple tour in the morning, got back to hotel, short break and was ready for pickup for the Baipai class. With distance to the school, Bangkok traffic, and if the class runs a bit long, the afternoon session lets you do more tours, if time in Bangkok is at a premium.</p>

<p>Excellent facility, great instruction, and great quality food we made ourselves! Learned a lot - how to use coconut milk vs cream effectively. Also how to use lemongrass, which we have growing at home. Excited to do these recipes again at home!</p>

<p>This was fabulous. Very professional and well-organized class held in a beautiful facility with both decorative and herb gardens. Not far outside Bangkok. Great introduction to classic Thai ingredients and food prep. We made five dishes from scratch, down to shredding the coconut on a traditional 'rabbit' shredder and pounding all ingredients for the curries by hand, and were sent home with a recipe book and photographs. Would absolutely recommend, and plan to do it again with my teenage daughter on my next trip.</p>
