Austin live music pub crawl. Was as expected

It was so much fun! Almost didn’t go as my travel partner cancelled on me but went solo and made several new friends! Tour guide was fun and entertaining.

Lack luster guide

Not much history was shared and the guide was just ok. Could’ve just wandered the street ourselves. Wish the guide had more to share about Austin.

Great for music lovers

This was a great tour of 6th street. We started at the Driskill which was beautiful inside. It was a weeknight so bars weren't packed, but the music was still in full swing. Met some new friends.

Great pub crawl in a thriving city!

Awesome pub crawl highlighting lots of local talent and bars. Lisa was my guide, she really knocked it out of the park. 10/10 would recommend to anyone

Great fun

We really enjoyed our pub crawl with Edward! It was a great experience, we got to see a lot of downtown, and it was fun meeting other folks, the bars all had cool music, variety of rock, blues, country, covers, and the drinks weren’t too expensive

We really enjoyed the selection of bars on this tour. The music was fantastic! We especially loved Darwin’s Piano Bar. Lisa was great with coordinating to make sure we would have seats at each upcoming bar. Gave us a good overview of options on Sixth Street

Edward our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the live music scene on 6th street. He was very fun and had lots of stories to tell. This tour is a great way to meet people and have a great time!

Needs improvement.

It was entertaining, but we could have gone to the bars on our own. There are no cover charges, so that was not a cost savings. We took the tour for some local history and the history of the bars. We were given some information, but we wanted more and would have made it more fulfilling.

Take this tour for live music!

Edward our guide was awesome. He took us to 4 great venues. Loved the talented musicians at all the bars but especially the duo at the piano bar and the blues band at San Jac. It was an awesome night!

Fun, but music was meh

Not knowing Austin at all, we wanted a guide to the music scene. I know the tour guide has a predetermined route and can't really control who's playing, but I'd say we batted .500 at best. The first act (blues-rock guitarist Brad Stivers) was really good, and I'd recommend the piano bar just for the fun vibe, but if this is representative of the Live Music Capital of the World, then the city specializes in cover bands. Not quite what I was expecting. I'd like a little more info between stops, too.

If you're a fan of music and drinking, this is for you.

Great way to get to experience the night life of Austin, in terms of live music events. Our tour guide made sure we got to see a little bit of everything which was greatly appreciated.

Edward was great, I was solo in Austin for my birthday. Meet a great group of people, we went to four different bars with different vibes. One even sung happy birthday.

This was a good way to get us to go visit a few bars. However, given that there are so many bars open with no cover, we could have easily seen many of them ourselves for free.

Embarrassing

We met our guide at the meeting point and he was quick to tell us we were the only ones, it’s election night and he would rather be home watching the polls. He said it’s ok if you don’t want to go. We quickly dismissed him at the first bar (bc he couldn’t care less and his nose was in his phone) and all he cared about was if we were “checked in”. Maybe that insures he gets paid?? Nonetheless we were completely let down as we had been looking forward it. It was my husband’s first trip to Austin.

Okay but crowded. What you get is not worth the money

The guide for my tour had some good facts to share during the pub crawl, but the tour group was far too large. It was difficult to keep track of him at each pub (there's no dedicated space at each bar or anything). Worse, the guide couldn't keep track of everyone on the tour. My tour guide thought I was a random person from one of the bars and insisted to see my ticket and photo ID before continuing with the tour even though I had been with him since the start of the tour.

Oliver’s tour is great

Oliver the guide was terrific, knowledgeable and fun. It’s the perfect way for, in my case, a solo traveller, to have instant company and to meet some more along the way. It gets you right into the very lively Sixth Street Austin world .

The coordinator never returned my message and they charged me without attending. Total scam. Very disappointed

Good music lousy tour

The music was awesome. But the description of what was to happen is incorrect. No stories were told, no real interactions. We were taken to the bars then Oliver would go to the back and stay on his phone.

Funtastic tour

First time visitor from Pittsburgh and found this tour with Oliver very interesting and entertaining. Would recommend to an outsider.

Great way to take in 6th street when not familiar with the area

Got taken to 4 great bars with different music genres. Without the guide we wouldn’t have known where to go. Good way to spend an evening. Guide gave some good background information

Want to have fun and yet be safe? This is it!

Edward, pur guide, was great! He was fun, considerate and knowledgeable. He made sure no one was left behind before we headed to the next bar. It was a great idea to take this tour because I felt someone was looking out for me. The bars we visited had great local bands.

Great Mix of Music

Edward took us to four bars, each playing different types of music. It really showed us what the Austin music scene is about and all the musicians were very talented.

Oliver rules. Had a great time hanging with him on the tour. He was very knowledgeable of the area and the history. The tour is great for solo travellers.

Good for Weekdays too!

It was really fun checking out the live music scene in Austin! Oliver was nice and led us to some great places. We were here on a Monday so I didn’t think there’d be good music, but it was actually better than the weekend because it wasn’t crowded in the bars and the music was awesome!

Austin’s Live Music Scene is Alive!

Edward was friendly and informative fellow, quick with a laugh and very helpful. He called ahead made sure that there the band wasn’t taking a break when we arrived at each club. The Austin Live Music scene is lively and happening for sure. He actually had the police shut down the streets to cars to make it safer for us to walk between clubs (JK).

Really fun tour

Really fun tour especially if it’s your first time in Austin. Went to 4 bars and all were different. Everyone in our group had a great time.

A great way to learn about the bar music culture in Austin!

This is an absolutely great experience and gives one an excellent idea of where to go back to at a later stage.

Worth is if you’re new to Austin!

Oliver was a great guide! He did a great job of wrangling all of us and keeping track. Variety of music styles and venues. The best was the second floor of the blind pig. Lots of fun!

We had a BLAST!

My daughter and I recently visited Austin for the first time. We wanted to go out on Sixth Street but were intimidated. This tour is definitely the answer! I highly recommend. We were with a group of woman, some with friends, some visiting alone and two young gentlemen visiting from Australia - We had a BLAST... no-one left on time... we enjoyed the drinks and the different music. We were given answers to any questions we had... This was fun... it would be a shame to miss the experience of Sixth Street if you had any misgivings... this is definitely your answer and so worth the cost.

Traveling solo? Do this!

As a solo traveler I really enjoy doing pub tours as a way to enjoy nightlife and connect with other travelers in an unfamiliar city. Oliver was a lovely host and it was fun talking with him and the other guests about what brought us all to this fascinating city. Despite our various backgrounds it’s kind of cool to remind yourself that with great live music and a few drinks maybe we can set whatever differences aside and enjoy what we all have in common.

We got to visit a few venues and enjoy some great live music from local artists. I had a great time and would go again.

Don’t do it solo! Just go find a bar with music you like.

Booked this for Memorial Day as I had a few days off after a work trip. The host, Ollie, called to say I was the only one so the following night would be better. Following night, I was again the only one on the tour but he said it would be a ‘good time’. It wasn’t Ollie hosting the tour but his colleague Edward and it was quite clear he wasn’t told that he was hosting that night because was 20 minutes late to the pick up point. Edward was nice enough and appreciate him dropping what he was doing to come and host me very last minute. We got to the second bar and thought I’d give the rest of the tour a miss as it was pretty dead on 6th and I wouldn’t recommend doing the tour solo.

Oliver = 10/10 total babe

Oliver was FANTASTIC!!!! Such a great guide very knowledgeable and so much fun we loved him! :) The bar options were great too!

Great Sampler of 6th Street Austin

Oliver was an amazing guide and host of Austin. We went to four different bars and each was a great time. Friends, The Blind Pig, Darwin’s Piano Bar, and San Jac Saloon. Oliver made sure we had a place at the bar and easy access to drinks and was a lovely conservationist. This was a couples night for my husband and I, perfect date night with 25 other people! Great way to get a “flight” of 6th Street for tasting!

Definitely recommend

Best way to explore Austin and meet people when you travel solo…absolutely wonderful group. Made 16 new friends and had a fantastic time.

Great music and a good time

Needed a fun way to make friends while I was in town for a week and this was the way to do it! Had some cool folks from all over and ended up having a blast! Definitely check this out!!

What a great time! Definitely was helpful as there are a lot of places with live music, and our guide was great!

Not worth it

Our guide Edward was nice enough but we had a five minute talk about the hotel where we met and twice we had a 2 minute conversation about Austin. Nothing about the bars we went to or the bands we saw. We could have walked down 6th street and done the exact same thing but had $35 in our pocket

Must for Austin night life!

The Austin live music pub crawl tour was an awesome night out. We checked out several bars with live bands, and each place had its own unique vibe. The guide was super knowledgeable about the local music scene and took us to some hidden gems. From rock to blues, the music was top-notch and kept the energy high all night. If you’re into live music and want a fun way to experience Austin’s nightlife, this tour is a must.

Fun tour to do alone!!

Incredible tour. Loved the music and the scenery. Awesome and thoughtful guide. 5 stars for the service and content!
