Thermal SPA - Wellness & Leisure Experience At Lake Vouliagmeni in Athens

Will recommend, worth the drive out there for a few hours … it goes by fast

The natural beauty of the lake and history to have just outside of busy Athens was spectacular! Temperature was just right in a hot Athens day!

Our driver Nathan was awesome! Arrived on time and was very knowledgeable about the lake and surrounding area. The views at the lake were amazing. The water was refreshing and the fish pedicure was an added bonus! (:

Great Excursion

Beautiful lake and scenery. Swam for over an hour and felt rejuvenated. We had a wonderful driver who was very informative about the area, Greek history and the landmarks. This is a definite must do if you have time. Just about 30 minutes outside Athens City.

Fish, Feet and Fun!

Alex was wonderful! He answered questions as we asked them and provided a nice experience. The lake was beautiful, too windy for me to swim, but putting my feet in the water was nice. The fish made for a wild experience and brought plenty of giggles. Lunch was also delicious! Note that you must pay the entrance fees for the lake in addition to the tour price.

Amazing experience

The place was super nice, Anthony the driver was helpful and gave us some historic info, u will enjoy the swim and the place super clean.

MISLEADING TITLE!! YOU STILL PAY FOR ADMISSION!!!

Firstly, all love to our drivers George and Chris. Fantastic talking with them, they’re so kind and knowledgeable, and I hope they flourish for the rest of their lives. Secondly, you are not actually paying for admission to the thermal spa. The spa opens March 15th, and we were here March 3rd, so the spa was closed. And we had to pay an extra 19 euros for admission to the lake. So don’t say “thermal spa” in the title and then not include the actual admission to the spa. What you are paying for is the chauffeur and the lunch that you aren’t advised to spend over 70€ on. Even though our price tag for the whole experience plus lunch was like $340 for 2 adults. Our “culinary gift” was two plastic water bottles. Also, the word “thermal” is misleading. “Thermal” in this lake does not automatically mean “warm.” It means “less cold than the ocean.” Overall, you can get a taxi and pay significantly less. You don’t need a third party chauffeur to take you to the lake. (One more time, to George and Chris. You two were so cool and we’ll remember you forever 💛)

Hidden gem, not to be missed

Pack your swim gear on your city break to Athens! Amazing geo-thermal lake, about 30-45 mins downtown from Athens city centre. Can reach direct via the Hop-On Hop-Off bus. This is a private venue and you'll pay 15-20 euros per head to enter. Once inside there are deckchairs to use on a boarded platform next to the lake. There is a decent cafe on site which can bring food to your seats. You could easily spend all day here, away from the beach hordes. The lake shoreline is shallow but full of the tiny fish that nibble your toes to eat the dead skin, so can be off-putting for some. Once in the water, they don't bother swimmers and you can swim in water as deep as 18 metres in a quite stunning setting. Water temperature is @23-25 degrees: not warm but not cold either. In the Athens summer, a cooling joy. Shower/changing facilities are very clean but likely involve a long wait to use in high season. There are free lockers. Pack a towel, or two. Small tip: outside the venue you can catch the 122 bus to the nearest metro stop of Hellinko and be back in the city centre quickly.

Well worth a visit add the lunch option

Driver very friendly and helpful. The lake was very clean and even though it was a cold windy day the water was managable. If you sit on the steps in the water you will get an amazing fish pedicure. We chose to add the lunch option in beach taverns, food and service were great.

Beautiful trip to the lake!

The ride to the lake was beautiful along the Athenian coast. Our driver pointed out any interesting points, and answered all of her questions about any buildings we saw along the way. Our driver was easy to communicate with about the pick up at the end of the visit and allowed us to stop for lunch. The Lake is absolutely spectacular. The water is clear and there is room for quite a crowd. Someone will come to your seat and take your order for a drink or food. Beautiful way to spend a day.

Amazing Lake experience

At first looking at the trip, I wasn't sure what to expect. Once I got there, it was amazing. The beauty of the lake, the atmosphere and the drinks were great! I had never had the little fish eating at my feet, never wanted to, but so glad I decided to do this. It was amazing! Fish were nibbling but it wasn't something scary or bad. It's just a tickly feeling. I am glad we decided to take this trip. We did the lunch after. The drive to the restaurant was beautiful. The meal was great. This is a must when you go to Athens. It's 2 hours at the Lake, just relaxing and then you can choose the lunch option.

Amazing tour!!

It was much more than we expected! The water was amazing and the whole vibe of the area was great, very relaxing. The little fish were exciting and felt very good. We also had the best driver, Ioannis. He was amazing and very accommodating. He was like a friend. I highly recommend him and this tour.

Need a relaxing day in Athens ?

What a wonderful tour for our last day in Athens. Our guide, Melina, was outstanding! She has a great personality and is very knowledgeable about her countries history. The private ride to the lake gave us time to ask questions and have a few laughs. We had two hours at the beautiful lake. The water was super clear and refreshing. The fish pedicure ( ha, ha) was an experience I will always remember. After Melina took us to a local restaurant for lunch. It was delish ! We could not have ask for a more pleasant , relaxing day at the lake.

Make reservations if you can!

Totally worth the trip for this gem! Water was brisk and beautiful. Suggest reservations if you are planning to go as we did not and had to wait until people left to purchase a spot inside. Honestly, I've waited longer at Disneyland for a ride than we waited here but it was hot and not much shade for the wait. Finally got a table for 2 and additional 2 chairs quickly for our party of 4. Ordered food right away and it was fabulous. Swam and soaked for over an hour and was totally worth the cost. If you don't really like the fish nibbles, just keep moving! Staff were great too! Got the best picture ever from our trip as our sister-in-law photo bommed our pic 🤣

Good morning adventure

The trip to the lake was as promised , comfortable and efficient. The lake had full facilities for swimming, restaurants and lakeside patio. Timing was excellent courteous and informative personal service

Soothing, relaxing and a bit daunting but definitely worth the experience.

Our tour guide Melina was the best. She was just incredible. She was punctual, extremely knowledgeable and beyond pleasant and thoughtful. We learned so much from her and got extremely useful information. We couldn’t have had a better guide. The Vouliagmeni lake was relaxing, refreshing and surprisingly interesting. The experience is beyond explanation. The salt water was a great temperature and the little “Dr. fish”, although took a little to get used to, we’re very interested and amusing. We would definitely go back. We then had a wonderful lunch at a nearby lovely restaurant with some delicious food and atmosphere. Followed by a scenic, interesting and informative ride back to our apartment.

Lake and Temple

We had a wonderful time on this tour, It was super relaxing and interesting. The lake was wonderful and a must see if you have the time to visit while in Athens. The temple was also incredibly impressive with its views of all the blue water surrounding it. Crispy Local were a brilliant company to go through and we couldn't fault our driver.

Nice and relaxing day at the lake

Beautiful lake to visit for the day. Most people visiting are locals of Greece. We rented 2 sets of beach chairs and had a super relaxing day. Service was spectacular and the water was beautiful and the perfect temperature. No outside food or drinks are allowed. We did take in water and then ordered additional food and drink. The only thing that I didn't care for was the little "pedicure" fish at the steps where we entered the lake itself, but once you got past, they left us alone. I recommend water shoes if you are particularly picky about touching the bottom murky lake as it does have some mushiness and seaweed. We took a pool noodle along and it was perfect for our son who doesn't swim. I recommend purchasing your spot ahead of time as the first-come, first-serve loungers were already full when we arrived at 10 am and a queue to purchase tickets was starting to get long. We purchased our tickets ahead of time though and got in pretty quickly.

Fantastic!

We had a lovely day out, very much looked after by George, our driver, who was able to answer lots of questions and talk to us about Athens and Greece generally. It made the trip for us, nothing was too much trouble. The lake was beautiful and we were not hurried in any way. Communication before the trip was smooth and effortless. We would highly recommend, thank you again

Fun time in Athens!

Our guide was on time and really nice. Had a ton of great info on Greece. The lake was really nice.

Beautiful Lake

Great host. Flexible with our plans. Beautiful lake and not overly crowded for a Saturday. Would definitely go back. Actually enjoyed the lake more than the beach!

Just a average lake

nothing special about this place, its just a average lake with sun beds and over priced food and drinks.

Thermal lake not thermal...

This is a beautiful place and when we were there in late May, it was not crowded at all! However, when I hear thermal lake, I assume warm, and it is not warm, not even tepid. So, if it's not a warm day, don't go. Also the price viator charges includes the driver and lunch, not admission to the lake. I thought it included lunch AT the lake, but it did not, the driver drove us to a restaurant. I would have preferred lunch at the lake or to pick lunch on our own. Not really worth the price, considering.

Relaxing Day in Athens Port

This was a wonderful quiet day in Athens after spending days in over crowded ports. Our driver “Johnny” was amazing. He was right on time, communicated through text throughout the day, and drove very safe. The lake was beautiful and not too crowded which was great. The only negative for me personally was the fish. I have only seen tiny fish at the spas which nibble on your skin, but these were a little larger. I could not go in the water because they just turned me off, but most of the people there enjoyed the natural fish doing this. I would go go again just for the beauty and relaxation. Also we purchased the lunch option. The lunch was fabulous. We had stuffed tomato and pepper with rice which was excellent. In fact every part of the lunch was great from the view, to the service and food. If you have been to Athens before and seen all the history highlights, this is a great way to spend a port day.

A nice chilli day after a packed few days.

Enjoyable day. Ioannis was polite and very helpful. Car was very clean and comfortable. He gave us information on the area as we travelled through. We spent a couple of hours at the thermal spa, then he recommended a nice place for lunch and took us there. A nice relaxing day.

Incredible Lake Trip!!

The whole trip was outstanding. Our driver was George, who is extremely knowledgeable, professional and very down to earth and great to talk to. The lake is absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Please bring your own towels if possible because they charge for towels at the site. We brought our own towels from the hotel and snacks and were perfectly fine. There are also private rooms to change clothes so you can leave in a dry pair of clothes feeling refreshed. After the lake, George to is to a restaurant and the food was excellent! George jas taken is a few places to eat and they all have been terrific. I have now taken several tours with this company and each time they provide incredible customer service and no matter the tour you will have a great time! Picturerd below is our Driver George and I, we love this guy! Thank you George for making great memories for my wife and I.

Fun day at the lake!

Socrates was an excellent guide! He was knowledgeable, the lake was beautiful, and the food was tasty. Fun outing that was something different on our history heavy trip!

Good experience

*READ* the fine print. This does not give you entry to the spa. You will need to buy tickets when you get there. On a lighter note this place is BEAUTIFUL!! Little fish will nibble on your toes and dead skin. This is a thermal spring, NOT a hot spring. Highly recommend for the experience and amazing views!

A nice swim

Our driver and tour guide George was great and very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the lake. The lake swim was fun despite the cold outside temperature. But if you are cold adverse look at the weather forecasts before going. The lunch option was wonderful at a nice local restaurant with many great choices.

Beautiful day trip with a great guide!

Our guide taught us a lot about the city on the way to the lake. Once at the lake he let us take all the time we needed enjoying a beautiful and relaxing escape from the city. The lake was great for swimming in December and very peaceful without much of a crowd. After we had a fantastic lunch that we will remember for a long time. Highly recommend booking this personalized tour to better take the day at your own pace. Especially if you have small children.

Lake Vouglameni w/ driver Lysandros

Our driver, Lysandros, made the experience amazing. Heeas ver knowledgeable and conversant in English. We loved the lunch spot. The food was fabulous.

Best Experience!

George was the best tour driver! He was friendly and his service was truly genuine. It was just my boyfriend and I on this tour and George made sure it was a very memorable, educational, and relaxing one. We didn’t get to say our proper goodbyes as we were rush by traffic; so George, if you are reading this thank you so much again for your GREAT services and take care!

Experience

The place is super beautiful, the spring is so relaxing as well as a great garden area for drinks and food after your fonts tanning and swimming. the only thing I don’t recommend is booking this tour. It’s not a “Tour” it’s just a private drive to the lake he leaves u there for 2 hrs and picks u up. Not worth paying through the tour. The entry fee is only 18 euros and they make u pay 130$ Per person just for a fancy car. Getting around is super eAsy with metros and taxis, it’s cheap and ur not on a time crunch.

Beautiful day trip

We had such a great time swimming in the Clearwater. Had a little fish come and nibble at your feet, so you get a full spa treatment without paying extra! LOL

We booked lake vouliagmeni tour and we had a great time. The location is breathtaking, the water warm and the surprise were the fish that were giving you a SPA treatment. We traveled with our child and we highly recommend this tour!

Très jolie lac aménagé. Arrivé vers 10h nous avons pu s'installer dans des transats mais il ne faut pas arriver plus tard. Attention aux chatouilleux avec les petits poissons. Contrairement à ce que j'ai pu lire, il n'y a pas de soucis vous pouvez emmener votre boisson et nourriture. Entrée : 15e par personne en semaine et 18e le week-end
