Fabulous tour

My three teenagers, my husband and I all thoroughly enjoyed our private 1/2 day tour. Our guide, Peggy was so knowledgeable and personable. She did an expert job of navigating the crowds at the Acropolis on a day of record setting heat. We all learned so much and would highly recommend this tour (and specifically Peggy) to anyone. The driver was fantastic as well.

Fantastic day

The best part of the day was Alexander and George! Alexander went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. He shared a lot about Athens and the people of Athens. George took us through the acropolis and it was amazing. We got to see the changing of the guard which was a beautiful ceremony and tribute to the Greek people. Definitely will ask for Alexander next time we are in Athens.

Parthenon Greek experience

Peggy our new our tour guide was a wealth of knowledge and had a lot of great information. Adam was a great and safe driver and gave a great recommendation on an excellent Greek restaurant. the food was fantastic and you know it’s good when grandma was in the back cooking. Best greek expierence

Adam was our driver and he provided a very comfrotable ride in a clean vehicle. Peggy was our tour guide for the acropolis and parthenon. Peggy was fantastic and provided a wealth of knowledge. Peggy made the experience fantastic and we could not have had a better tour dude. Adam was even kind enough to show us a great greek restaurant which was beyond excellent. Adam and Peggy were worth the time and money for this tour. I would recommend these two to my friends and family!

Great Acropolis Experience

Visiting the Acropolis was an amazing experience made even better by our guide Makaia. She was incredibly informative.

The private half day tour is an excellent way to experience Athens

This tour was a great way to experience the main historical sites of Athens in a single day. In 8 hours we saw the Acropolis Museum, Acropolis, Parthenon, Poseidon Temple and the Ancient Agora. Effie guided us through the Acropolis, Parthenon and the Museum. She is very experienced, knowledgeable and an excellent guide. Teddy was our driver who took us to the Poseidon Temple and Agora. He is very personable, a great story teller and enjoyable to be with. He gave us tips on restaurants, IPhone camera techniques and other things to do in Athens.

Maria our tour guide was amazing! The tour showed us all the highlights and let us stop for coffee and even recommended a great lunch spot after the tour!

Great Tour

Picked up at airport by Alex. Great tour of city and we added George for a tour guide. Alex stopped so we could see the changing of the guard. Passed the lines at the Acropolis.

Truly a great experience! Personalized attention and opportunity to really dig in and learn. Couldn’t be more thrilled with the tour. Avoid the large group experience and do this one on one opportunity.

Athens 4 hour tour

Climbing the steps to the Acropolis and seeing the original Olympic stadium were the highlights of the tour. Even with all the traffic we managed to see everything we wanted and more.

Incredible experience!

Our TA recommend a private tour with a guide. So glad we listened. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and provided information and facts that we would never have found on our own. Would definitely recommend the tour! Worth the higher cost.

Good tour but not great. Overpriced and not customized.

I would give it 3.5 stars. We did receive excellent communication prior to our tour as there was a strike in Greece on the day of the tour which impacted and complicated pick up and start of tour and any questions that we had were quickly addressed. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. However, it was not customized nor were we asked about places we wanted to go and was only 3 hours. We thought the tour was overpriced and a little rushed. Compared to other private tours we have taken, this was the most expensive and disappointing.

Recommend this tour company

Great guide (Theo) he was very knowledgeable had a good sense of humour and kept us entertained. The sights were very good, everything explained in detail and we had enough time at every stop. Only reason we did not give it a 5 star was the fact that the audio packs didn’t work at the Acropolis and because it was very busy we couldn’t hear the guide.

Our tour was terrific. Our guide Epi was so interesting and knowledgeable. The driver was very nice as well. There were 8 in our family group and everyone enjoyed it! Well worth the price.

Great tour

Efi and Alex were both very knowledgeable and polite! It was a great tour. Very educational which we both liked a lot!

Disorganized and not as advertised.

Overall a nice tour but wish it could have been more personalized. The tour booking said 48 hours before the tour would email us but they never did. The driver got lost finding us but was very nice. The guide did not meet us at our pick up point as indicated and instead joined us later on the trip and then left before we were dropped off. Would be better if the guide was with us the whole time as advertised. She sat in the front of the van with a microphone instead of being more personable sitting with us. The acropolis was great but a storm was approaching and we kept asking her to move quicker to avoid the storm. She said it would not rain and of course then it poured on us the everyone tried to leave at the same time causing a massive delay while it was raining. They never offered to take us to the acropolis museum even though it was advertised - we much more would have enjoyed that instead of driving around in wet clothes in the van for an hour after the acropolis. This review sounds more negative than it was. They were nice but overall for the money spent not worth it.

Great time in Athens

Visilis and Efi were awesome as driver and guide. We got in and out of the places we were set to see and Efi provided soooo much information about the sights.

Great double tour

Mrs Effie and Alex were wonderful. Even though it started with a missed connection they were gracious and we quickly were back on track. We did everything we wanted and then some. Alex then took us on the drive to Cape Sounion, so beautiful and the Temple of Poseidon is not to be missed. Being able to skip the line at the Acropolis was a nice perk. I definitely recommend Mrs Effie and Alex. They make a great team and are so knowledgeable about Athens history, past and present. We had a thoroughly wonderful time!

Learn More About Acropolis with a Licensed Guide

We were picked up on time at our hotel to start our private tour by our driver. We then headed to the Acropolis to meet our tour guide. There really is no such thing as "skip the line of Acropolis" per our guide. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait long (<10 min). So, don't get duped into purchasing a ticket for this. Parris was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide. He spoke exceptionally good English and accommodated all the sites we wanted to see (We planned ahead of time what we wanted to see during our time. Parris and our driver then figured out the best route/time to see each of the sites. We highly recommend doing pre-planning to get the most of your private tour). He gave us Greek, historical, and Christian (if applicable) insights to each site we stopped at (8+ sites). It was helpful for us to see a broader perspective. Parris took his time and answered any question we had without being annoyed. He even showed us a favorable place to exchange money and a great Greek restaurant to eat dinner at that was non-touristy and authentic. This was a fantastic way to see all the sites we wanted without all the crowds or having to walk everywhere in the hot sun. It is at your pace and based on what you want to see!!! We learned about all the structures on the Acropolis instead of just wandering around wondering what we were looking at. This tour is pricey and only included tickets to the Acropolis. But it was soooo worth it!!! If you stop at other points of interest, you may have to pay to enter as it's not included in the tour. I highly recommend seeing the top tourist sites + those off the beaten path with a personal tour - specifically Parris!

Excellent experience

The tour and staff were superb! They were well informed and personable. The skip the line for the Parthenon was the best idea. Our guide was educated and interesting. Tour of the city of Athens was thorough and informative. Highly recommend this tour.

Unbelievable experience with this Private tour!

The driver and the private tour guide was amazing! They both had lots of knowledge about the area and the Acropolis & Parthenon! It was amazing to be able to skip the line and not have to wait for entry as well as not being rushed in and out of any event! We would recommend this tour to everyone and will do it again!

Wonderful way to see Athens when you want Quality, but need Flexibility of Schedule!

The half day Athens tour was exactly what we hoped for. We were a group of five family members who had a limited time window to fit in a tour. This tour was perfect because of the flexibility it offers in time and schedule. Our tour guide (Peggy) and our driver (Alex) were both friendly and ever so knowledgeable. Peggy is a wonderful and experienced tour guide who took us through the skip-the-line acropolis tour with fascinating and informative commentary. I can't imagine doing that tour without a guide like Peggy. While watching the changing of the guards at the presidential palace, Alex added a personal touch sharing his own first hand experience as a former member of the elite guards. We strongly recommend this tour to anyone who values their time and wants to make the most of their visit to Athens!

Super Half Day Tour

Our tour was just super. Excellent explanation about both the historical and architectural significance of the Acropolis - while also covering the history of Athens and Greece overall. Both our driver and tour guide were clear and courteous. Would recommend!

Katarina was AWESOME! Deeply knowledgeable of history and culture made a richly insightful tour of the Acropolis, the museum and other key Athens site. Booking a private tour allowed us the flexibility to pick how much time to spend and where to visit... Katarina was so accommodating! Highly Recommended!

Beyond Expectations

This tour was perfect for our multigenerational family. They picked us up promptly at our hotel and the tour guide Theodore (Teddy) is amazing. He also passed us off to an expert guide for the Acropolis, who was knowledgeable and accommodating for my senior age mother. We also had a short walking tour of important buildings in Athens and even arrived perfectly on time to witness the changing of the guard! Again, our guide Teddy arranged the perfect viewing spot for my mother. We then continued on to the Temple of Poseidon for beautiful golden hour sunset photos. Also along the way, our guide stopped for us to take photos at instagram worthy photo spots. Overall, this tour exceeded our expectations. Teddy even provided water and biscuits (cookies) for a snack!

Half day tour to the Acropolis/Parthenon and sights of Athens.

I booked the tour wanting my grandchildren to see the Acropolis and sights. Alexandros "ALEX" was our driver. Love him! He was so engaging. Taking his time to explain sights and on a special note, telling us how he was an EVZON and explaining the role of the EZON It was Very informative and I couldnt' believe our driver was a former EVZON. Our tour guide PARIS, was very informative and engaged the boys in asking them questions and answering their questions as well. Paris was so much fun and kept us all engaged. I. loved how he related the Acropolis. And Greek mythology to the childrens interests as well as making comparisons which the they could relate to and understand. I have been on several tours to the Acropolis over the years but PARIS. Is definitely the best and I highly recommend him if you are planning to visit the ACROPOLIS. We took the half day tour which is a definite must. Private car, air conditioned not having to deal with the traffic of Athens and as well as seeing all the sights, great enjoyable time. Private Athens Experience

We booked this half day private tour and had the extreme fortune that our guide (Gari) was an archeologist and knew so much about all the spots she took us to. Our tour of the stadium, acropolis, changing of the guards, etc., was made so much better by her knowledge. She was very engaging during the travel time and never a dull moment. Big thank you to her, Vasilis (driver) and Maria for making our day in Athens so memorable!

Efficient way to see Athens

We only had a couple hours in the morning before leaving for a cruise so this was perfect to see the city. We were met at our hotel lobby by our guide who took really good care of us. Peggy filled all our time with immense knowledge of Athens and local culture. They timed it so we could see the changing of the guard with parade that happens once a week. We rode around in style and comfort in the van which we were able to keep our luggage and drove us to Piraeus port to catch our ship.

Acropolis private tour guide

The tour guide was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and prepared. She made the experience so much more interesting. We didn’t go on the second half of the tour because it was 1.5 hours away and we were exhausted from the acropolis tour. There’s no skipping the line though. That was not possible we discovered. Which was the reason I picked this particular tour so that was a bummer. But the tour guide Lydia made up for it.

Wonderful, welcoming tour of Athens

Chris was an amazing driver and was very friendly and welcoming. We booked a private tour. Our flight was delayed by hours and Chris waited for us and gave us our whole tour without rushing us. He was absolutely wonderful.

Great time very informative

Effy and Sotiri were great. We felt safe and comfortable the whole time. Effy was a great guide. She gave us a great explanation at both the acropolis and the museum. Sotiri was a great host as well, took us around the city and talked to us about all of the stuff we were seeing on our way to our ship.

Half day tour of Athens and the Acropolis

Our guide Efi was so passionate and knowledgeable. Tour was excellent but it should be noted that the skip the line refers only to purchasing tickets, there is still a line to get into the Acropolis. Well worth the experience and Efi was so knowledgeable-she really made the experience for us!
