Great tour

The guide was amazing showing us and telling us the history of Greece. Very informative and interesting. The drive to Poseidon Temple was long but worth the view. One thing to note is the admissions tickets for the locations are not included and for us totaled ~60 euros per person.

Awesome first class tour!

We ended up skipping the Poseidon monument as the city was very crowded with cruise ship passengers and traffic was very bad. Instead we opted to spend more time having lunch and walking around the Plaka neighborhood. Our van driver was the best Nico’s was very accommodating to ensure we had a great time. He timed it perfectly for us to have front row seats for the changing of the guards and we did not have to wait in the heat for it. Thank you!

A not-to-miss experience!

If you only have a day or two Athens, this is the way to go. Nikolai, my driver, was kind, entertaining, personable, and caring. He took excellent care as he toured the city on my behalf. It was worth, too, adding on the services of a guide for the Acropolis. Betty was exceedingly accommodating, helpful, and provided excellent context and details to all that we saw.

Great experience in Athens

Our tour driver and certified guide were both fantastic! They made the trip exciting, fun and informative. We were able to adjust our trip as needed to accommodate our schedule. Viator communication was also very good. Definitely recommend.

Amazing Tour Operator!

We had a lovely experience. Our driver was ready and waiting at the allotted time, in a clean, roomy sedan – stoked with cold water. We spent the day driving to all the big spots, getting some history and context along the way. In retrospect, I don't know if I would have burned half the day driving way out to Temple of Poseidon. It was super cool, and we had a great lunch out on the coast. However, we only had one day in Athens, and that was a lot of time to burn on driving. If I could do it again, I would have stayed closer to Athens and hit more of those sites in the immediate area, and have more time to enjoy a proper cafe lunch and enjoy the culture and vibe of the city. Oh well... that was our mistake, and I would barely call it a mistake because we had a good time. Just something for others to consider... and 8 hour tour, and 3 of those hours are spent driving to one site that takes 30 mins to experience.

Best 1 day tour from Athens

We loved seeing the Acropolis and Acropolis museum and having a private guide for these sights was amazing! Lisa our guide was very knowledgeable and provided the perfect experience for the Acropolis. We also enjoyed seeing the Riviera and especially the lunch by the sea. Dimitris, our driver, was also excellent and able to provide for a safe and comfortable ride throughout the trip.

Great choice for a one day condensed view of Athens

Great tour and informative

Petros made the tour great!

Petros is amazing. Beyond knowledgeable; he is a wealth of historical references and information. He was generous and kind. We travel a lot and have experienced a lot of guides and Petros is top tier. He was also very protective of us, making sure we didn’t overpay for things and giving suggestions. This was a highlight of our trip to Athens for sure. Petros deserves a raise!

Best day in Athens

This was a full, busy day but both the private guide at the Acropolis and the driver who took us to Sounion were amazing. So knowledgeable, so helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better day in Athens than this one. Would highly recommend it to everyone.

Amazing Way to See Athens!

It couldn’t have been a better day! Andreas was a wonderful guide: so knowledgeable and personable, and he really cared about giving us a great day and teaching us about his city! We saw and learned more than we could have expected. We couldn’t recommend this tour more highly especially if you have limited time in Athens and want to try to see and understand the city.

This tour was EXCEPTIONAL and our tour guide Petros was UNBELIEVABLE! He was a wealth of knowledge and such a joy to be around. On May 6, we had an exclusive tour of Athens city. Our guide was Bill who was great. There were many queues in the Acropolis but Warmpenguin made reservations in advance, so we went sightseeing without waiting. We visited the Acropolis, Zeus Temple, the museum, Poseidon Temple, and so on, and we could see everything in one day with the right time arrangement. It was a perfect tour for a trip without time like my family. Awesome day in Athens.

This was my first time in Athens and I only had one day to see as much as possible. This tour seemed to fit the bill. Let me first say that everyone at warm penguin was extremely helpful. My Guide for the day was Petros. From start to finish he was great. Always checking to make sure I was enjoying and the tour was meeting my needs. The amount of detailed knowledge he had regarding the locations and area were quite astounding. I honestly don't know how he retains it all. Exceptional!

We had exceptionally good time with the tour guide Mr. Will. He was very knowledgeable and explained to us about the various locations we visited with the help of Ipad and other illustrations. Excellent conversationalist and has been very patient with our inquiries. He understood our requirements as senior citizens and did all he could do to make us comfortable. We had a very enjoyable drive with him at the wheel as he was a very safe driver. We are so grateful to the tour operator for making him available to us whole day. With him, we are sure the operator is in good hands. We wish him the very best and the tour operator with all the success going forward. God be with you all.

Highly recommended, great value

Our guide today was Yannis, and I cannot think of anything that would have made this experience better. He arrived promptly on time, was extremely professional and courteous and made us feel like celebrities. We arrived at all destinations quickly, thankfully right before hords of tourists arrived via the big tour busses. This allowed us to avoid all lines at the Acropolis and museum. We also got a nice tour of the city with added extras. He was very knowledgeable about ancient Greece and surrounding civilizations, and as a lifelong resident of Athens was able to give us personal insights and local history. He brought us to a great local restaurant for lunch (I recommend the lemon chicken dish). Driving through the country to Temple of Poseidon and Sounion was very enjoyable and he takes an alternate route to return which gives more depth to the true Athens.

Decently Accessible for Athens!

Had a great time with our driver, Dimitri, and our guide, Eva! My travel companion uses a wheelchair, and Dimitri and Eva were very knowledgeable about how to access the accessible parts of the sites. Full disclosure: the acropolis and temple of Poseidon were only partially accessible. The acropolis museum and other sites on the tour were fully accessible. Lunch on the water was excellent! The fish tasted as if it was caught that morning. If you're interested in ancient Greece, I'd recommend this tour and hiring the professionals guide. Eva's depth of knowledge was awe inspiring, and she was very gracious in answering all of our questions.

Amazing way to explore

Fantastic Tour. All the things you should see in Athens in the am (and an empty acropolis), a great seaside lunch and then the Temple of Poseidon our guide/driver was great. Very knowledgeable and customized our tour

Great first day Athens!

Demetris was a great tour guide and flexible with our schedule. He is also very knowledgeable about the history. It was nice to see the main sites in Athens but then also to see some of the surrounding area outside of the city. Our lunch by the Agean Sea had a beautiful view, but the food was not that great. Overall, we really enjoyed this trip!

The amazing Theodore

We had Theodore as our guide and he was AMAZING. He picked us up from our hotel and he used every ride to give us very detailed explanations on what we were going to see at the next stop. It gave us the chance to better appreciate what we were about to see. He knew exactly where to take us and explained routes on where to walk to get the best experience with the best views and shortest waits and NO stress. He also took us to a great local lunch spot that we definitely wouldn’t have been able to find on our own with some of the best Greek food. We would 100% recommend this tour (and Theodore)! Truly worth every penny!

Great overall experience

The guide, Vasilis Doudis, was the best, really provided a lot of insight and information. We had plenty of time at our stops, and a great lunch at a local restaurant. We have done many tours in our 4 week trip, Vasilis was definitely the best guide!!

Wonderful day!

Our driver Petro (not sure if I'm spelling it correctly), was wonderful. He explained so well everything we were seeing and doing. Gave us many details and back stories. Made sure we saw everything and got us there safely. He answered our questions and was very knowledgeable about everything. He clearly knows and loves his city, the surrounding areas, and his job. What a very enjoyable day! Everything we saw was amazing and the lunch along the seaside was delicious as well.

Great tour of Athens and surrounding areas.

We had a great time during our tour. Our tour guide Vasilis was extremely knowledgeable, professional, kind, and friendly. we learned a lot about greek mythology, history, and politics. We visited all the main sites in Athens and surrounding areas. We felt very comfortable, and taking care of during our tour. We also had a delicious lunch, next time we visit Athens we will most definitely book with this agency and request Vasilis.

Great tour especially with guide on acropolis.

Great tour Dimitri was very knowledgable and funny. We did as shore excursion group of 8 which including a licensed guide in the acropolis. The included seaside lunch was nice but the upgraded fresh fish option they offered was very pricey as were the drinks. 380 euro extra for the group but the food was good.

Great day in Athens with Dem!

Since this was a private tour and therefore your guide is extremely important, it's imperative you get a good one. Dem was terrific. He started our tour at Poseidon's temple which is not close to Athens. He calculated we would have no people there and then we could do the Acropolis later. He was 100% correct. When we got to Poseidon's temple there was one other couple there. It was like having it to ourselves. By the time we finished there were 3 tour buses pulling up. Going to the Acropolis later in the day was a winning move. Was not nearly as crowded as it would have been in the morning. All in all a great full day in Athens. Could not recommend more highly!

Lunch, was amazing. Our driver Andreas, took us to a small fishing village, we ate on the water, the owner served us himself. The entire tour from start to finish was very personalized. Great knowledge and easy to understand.

Wonderful personalized tour

The tour was amazing. We traveled together with our young daughter and my 88 year old mother. She has some mobility issues but can walk with help. Yannis and our guide Betty was patient, warm, and catered to both of them. The lunch place was delicious and everyone was happy. Everyone had a fun time and was well entertained the entire day. If you have some extra definately add the license guide.

Great Tour of Athens, Greece!

We experienced a Full Day Tour with Yannis! What an amazing person, so full of knowledge and expertise! His Mercedes van was so comfortable, and we had cold bottled water for the full day for 4 people! We really enjoyed our stay in Athens, and the Tour was a highlight! :)

Concierge Best Tour in Athens

We were able to see the very best Athens had to offer thanks to our tour guide, Andreas! We had a white glove concierge experience that left us with memories that will last a lifetime. Andreas was very knowledgeable about the history of the archeological sites and temples. The experience was very intimate and designed at our pace with Andreas there every step of the way.

Well worth it!

This was a worthwhile tour to take and our guide/driver, Ellis, knew the best place to watch the changing of the guard at Parliment. Honestly, we have been in Athens two other previous times and never had the view we did or experience in the changing of the guards. We felt safe, secure and received a lot of good information regarding the sights we were seeing. By all means, book a guide for the tour of the Acropolis and start your tour early in the morning, less crowds and not too high temps at the Acropolis. Would do this tour again.

Athens is a day ! One-off

Our driver Dimitrius was awesome. He couldn’t have been more knowledgeable and friendly! He Showed us the essentials of Athens and the best places to see. He also took us for a great Greek lunch. I would recommend this tour highly.

Athens in a Day

Andreas was our guide. He was professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable about the history. We spent 11 hours together, and it did not feel like it. It felt like we were being guided by an old friend. He made sure to take us to all the important sights in the city and even the changing of the guards in front of the presidential house. Ask for Andreas if you take this tour.

Fantastic day in Athens!

Our driver, Vacili, was exceptionally timely, responsive, kind and informative. He picked us up directly from our cruise, and we spent the entire day with he and the guide, Vickie. I think it was well worth having hired a guide as we were able to gain so much more knowledge of the Acropolis and the Acropolis museum. Lunch was fantastic as well. Simply thrilled with our fun filled day in Athens.

Great tour oh Athens!

Our tour guide, Demetrius, was a fantastic guide, his knowledge of history and Athens was wonderful. The restaurant he took us to for lunch was outstanding. At the end he recommended a shop that turned out to overcharge for items but he immediately got refunds for us. The tour itself was top notch.

Excellent Tour

Our tour guide Eva and tour guide/driver Marco were just the best - kind, knowledgeable and fun. This tour was the best way to see the Acropolis and Temple of Poseidon. We went to the Acropolis early, which even so was starting to get crowded but Eva knew where to go to beat the crowds. She also took the best pictures of us which we will treasure forever. We opted for lunch on the coast on the way to the temple of Poseidon and the fresh fish was so good. My husband said his chicken souvlaki was delicious as well. Would do this tour again and have already recommended to friends and family.

Fantastic day. The places visited on the tour covered modern day all the way back to ancient times. Our driver Dimitris was the absolute best. His knowledge of the places visited along with the history associated with them made our tour so much more enjoyable and informative. His personality also made our interaction with him very fun.
