Unforgettable Experience

I can't recommend this enough. Alexandros and Fotis were great tour hosts, very friendly, and Fotis kept us entertained every step of the way with facts about Greece as we passed through key areas. The beach stop was really relaxing, but I will caution by saying the bar isn't super cheap. It's still really nice though, we dipped our toes in the water and enjoyed the beautiful view. Visiting Sonunio and The Temple of Poseidon was unforgettable. Watching the sunset bounce off the water and cast a gold glow onto the temple is just too good to put into words, really. Great photo opportunity and a chance to get some souvenirs. Overall, I recommend this to anyone looking to explore beyond Athens. You won't be disappointed.

Great view and worth the drive!

I had George as a tour guide who was very personable and very apologetic when the van broke down. Despite this the company organised a replacement very quickly. I would recommend eating before or taking food as the hour stop along the way isn’t quite long enough to enjoy the restaurants without rushing. Once at the cape the view was well worth the wait and the long drive. Would definitely recommend.

This was a small group tour in a very comfortable van. Right from the time of pickup to drop off, our driver Alex and guide, George were very caring and always making sure everyone was comfortable. George was very knowledgeable about Greek mythology and told us many stories. The trip to the beach stop and then to the temple for sunset was spectacular! A great way to spend an evening.

Tony was a great host and guide. He gave us a lot of information and guidance about the area and Greece. A must do in Athens!

Cape Sunion Trip

It was a wonderful trip. Great views, and a great guide. Theo was the most amazing and engaging tour guide I have had in a good long while. My only suggestion would be to increase the time for the beach stop by 30 minutes - that part felt rushed.

Beautiful tour

This tour was very enjoyable. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We made a stop on the way there at a beach where we were able to eat, swim, and drink. The temple of Poseidon was well worth the trip-the Temple itself is magnificent and the sunset views from the top were perfection.

Great option for a more bespoke experience

This was a really good tour for a small group. Our tour guide Lily was so friendly and kept us entertained with stories and information about the local area. We were picked up by a mercedes sprinter van that had very comfy seats and driven to Sounion. We were given ample time to look around and then the beach stop on the way home.

A must do when in Athens

Great tour! The guide was very pleasant and the sunset was stunning in the temple. I also liked our stop at the beach where I could have dinner.

Incredible tour. Don’t miss this one

Catarina and Kostas were incredible guides. They kept us on schedule to see everything on the itinerary and gave great insights between the sites. Catarina even offered to take photos for people if they needed extra help.

Super Sounion Sunset

Highly recommend the sunset tour to Cape Sounian and the Temple of Poseidon. Our guide Athina and driver Sotaris were excellent - request them if you can. Athina is engaging and super knowledgeable....imparting interesting points about Greece present and past. The view and temple site cannot be beat!

Excellent sunset tour to the temple of Poseidon

We had an excellent trip to the temple of Poseidon. We travelled by a very comfortable minivan. The view at sunset was amazing and our guides Katarina and Vasili were amazing! Very friendly and competent.

Wonderful experience!

The views from Cape Sounion are extraordinary!! Additionally, our guides were very friendly. They told us the history of not only the temple of Poseidon, but also other tourist objects of Greece.

Good way to get out of the city and relax at your own pace!

Overall a pretty good experience with an amazing sunset to finish! The transport was comfortable with great air conditioning. Pick up was easy as I was assigned a time a few minutes walk from my apartment (as the road was too small to drive down into). Kostos, our driver, was very professional and helpful. The tour guide Katarina was excellent, very friendly and gave good insights on everything. The tour itself is a good way of getting out of the city for the evening, spending some time swimming on the beach and seeing a great sunset over the Temple of Poseidon. My only warning would be that you need to be prepared to take your time and relax at each stop as you get a lot of free time which some people may not like. We had 1hr 40 mins to ourselves at the beach and still got to the temple very early and there isn’t a great deal to do for the 90 odd mins you’re there. The lake stop is the only short one where you spend 5 mins just looking at it from a distance. Overall enjoyed it!

Excellent tour, lessons in Greek mythology and amazing landscapes

Made a long journey fun and interesting through really engaging commentary by Caterina, providing good insights into Greek mythology. Costas was a great driver too.

This was a beautiful chance to see beyond the City Center of Athens and experience a magical evening along the Greek coast! Lake Vouliagmeni was beautiful and ending the tour with sunset at the Temple of Poseidon was incredible and truly a cherry on top of an amazing time in Athens. Our guide, Athena, was so knowledgeable and friendly! We learned so much from her!

Always listen to your parents and someone who’s Greek

This tour is packed with information, stories, facts and myths. Alex is an amazing driver and with a lot of charisma (that word probably came from Greek as all). Theo was fantastic and a wonderful tour!

This was an excellent tour All 11 of us ranging in ages 14 to 88 loved it. The beach was great too. Make sure to bring your swimsuit . It was a great way to get away from the heat. Temple of Posieden was wonderful. Theo was great!!

Lovely tour!

Loved this tour. The tour guide was super knowledgeable about the mythology behind the Temple. (He also made a joke about not bringing home a pheasant--joke was on us when a bunch of baby pheasants popped out of the temple!) We really enjoyed seeing the lake and getting a chance to put our toes in the water. My only wish would be to have a slightly longer stop so that it is possible to both eat and swim. The restaurant service is fairly slow so we were not able to do both. The views were incredible from the Temple.

The guide and the driver were incredibly nice, making the journey very pleasurable. Shout out to the amazing sunset at the archaeological site!

Wonderful visit to the Temple of Poseidon

I really recommend this tour to the Temple of Poseidon and doing the sunset version made it really special. Our tour guide Athena was fabulous - friendly and very informative. Our driver Vasilissis was also really good. The minibus was comfortable, the pickup was on time, the organisation was great and the sights we saw were stunning. I’m glad a beach/dinner stop was included, along with a brief stop to look at Lake Vouliagmeni. It’s a small group tour and I met other really lovely people which added to the experience.

Loved our guide, Teddy!

This was such a great experience to get us out of Athens in a way that was easily coordinated. Our guide, Teddy, was extremely knowledge and we could listen to him talk about the history all day.

Beautiful location with a combination of history and natural beauty.

The unexpected spot an the beautiful lake on route to the Cape. Another memorable moment, was being able to step into the Aegean Sea.

A lovely way to see the Sounion sunset and important monument

The tour was well organised. Our guide Athina was friendly, informative and made the trip interesting. The driver Vasillis (Bill!) was very good too. The coastal route and photo ops were lovely. Tips: don’t forget a towel for the beach stop! They don’t give those at the beach bar but food , drink and spots to lie by the beach or wade in were great. Keep some cash - quicker for the temple of Poseidon entry ticket. All in all a relaxed and beautiful tour to explore an important site with fun stops. Good for all ages and only moderate exertion. Perfect for families who want to explore and learn more about Greek monuments in a relaxed way.

Fabulous sunset

The guide was very nice and knowledgeable. It was a relaxing and informative experience. The Aegean Sea was beautiful and we loved watching the sunset from the temple. It was a perfect way to spend our 1st day in Athens.

A “must do”!

Very lovely break from all the walking and heat of Athens. The drive along the Aegean Sea was picturesque and our guide kept us entertained. The temple site was a beautiful spot to watch the sunset. Great excursion…would do it again!

Poseidon v Acropolis

Nice half day tour, our time in Athens was limited and it was quite a long drive, our guide Theo was very friendly and engaging. The Poseidon temple was good to see, if I was a little more familiar with it and after visiting the Acropolis probably wouldn't have bothered. The big positive was very few tourists at the site. Stopped for lunch at a local place, the food was great although we were very limited on time.

Amazing experience!

The tour guides were fantastic! Great personality, humor, and friendly. The view of the temple was amazing, especially with the sunset in the back ground. The guides shared a lot of cultural info, and mythological stories during the drive. All in all great experience. We highly recommend!!!

Worth a day out

Good trip, stops were timely. It was lovely to visit the temple when it’s less crowded. I would do this trip again however next time at sunset.

Alexandros was awesome. He provided us with time to enjoy our trip while providing historic information along the way. I highly recommend this tour to get outside of Athens but still experience history!

Highly recommend this tour

Great tour, highly recommend and totally worth it. We wanted to visit Sounion during our visit to Athens but didn't want to rent a car and have to drive in/out of Athens so this tour was perfect. Van picked us up within a block of our Airbnb. Our tour guide Teddy was amazing, very charismatic, funny, and knowledgeable. He learned all of our names within the first 15 minutes and explained a lot of history and culture on our way there. The time allotted at each stop was perfect, we stopped for 15 minutes at the lake for pictures, an hour at the temple of poseidon, and a little bit over an hour at the beach. Everyone grabbed drinks and food at the beach bar, which had decent food but somewhat overpriced. Our van was full with 18 people total, which we thought was a good size. On the drive back to Athens most of us took an afternoon nap.

Great way to get out of the city for 4-5 hours.

Alex and Pericles did a great job. Tour guide and driver both friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Van was safe, comfortable and air conditioned. Was fun to meet travelers from other countries and share experiences.

Sunset Tour

Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon at sunset is a beautiful not to be missed experience, but find another company to take your there. Unfortunately our tour was not as expected. We were told we had hotel pick up and received a message to walk to another hotel for pickup. This would not have been a problem if the mini bus would have been on time. We had to wait outside on a busy city intersection in the heat for 45 minutes. When I called the provided phone number to see if they were coming it was not available. I had to search for another phone number and finally got through to be told they were coming for us soon. When the bus arrived the tour guide never explained or apologized for the delay, We got on the bus and the only seats available were tiny uncomfortable squished seats in the back. I counted heads in the bus and they were over the maximum number stated on the tour by 2 people, which is why we had to sit where we did. This was a long ride to not have a regular seat like the other guests. We never stopped at a lake, probably because we started so late. We did stop at the beach for a swim, but the changing facility was a wooden coral on the side of the beach, and were weren't allowed to use the lounge chairs, which were only for hotel guests. We recommend going to see the breathtaking sunset but do your self a favor and use another tour company.

A pleasant end of a day

Nice excursion. The guide and all staff are very pleasant. The explanations from the guide were a little bit difficult to understand.

Worth the money.

The explanation and history of athens was fantastic. Athena was wonderful with her guests. The drive along the coast was beautiful. The explanation of the excursion needs to be more detailed. Was unaware of swimming opportunity.

Breathtaking!!

This tour was amazing. Athena (guide) and Salvador(driver) were so friendly and helpful. I learned so much from Athena’s expertise in Greek history and archeology. It was a fabulous way to start our adventures in Greece. I highly recommend bringing your bathing suit - swimming in the Adriatic is so relaxing after the heat of Athens. If I could give this tour more than 5 stars, I would.

Most relaxing

This was the easiest most relaxing trip we took during our two weeks in Europe. A small group bus came and picked us up at the hotel. We enjoyed seeing the coast line and sitting at a beach on comfortable relaxing furniture and tasty beach food and drink options. We continued on to beautiful Cape Sounion as the sun set. We took many pictures. Highly recommend.

Calm day out

Very pleasant, low stress excursion. Lovely tour guide and gorgeous scenery we drove by! Very sufficient amount of time at Temple of Poseidon, and a nice stop at an OK beach. We loved hearing about ancient myths and history as we travelled

Inexperienced guide. Best to hire a driver.

The guide need to improve her english; not able to follow what little information she was talking about on the bus ride there. Also she needed to be at the meeting point at the end of the temple site with a sign because people were uncertain where to pick up the bus. Other guides had signs at the site. Never will book a bus tour again with Viator

Poseidon sunset

Enjoyed the beautiful sunset at the temple! Our guide, Theodore, was excellent, friendly and informative! We were not impressed by the food or facilities at the beach stop.

Poseidon Tour

This was a very easy and relaxed tour. Our driver was careful and tour guide Dini, was very good with lots of stories. The ruins were easy to view and lovey sunset. I recommend this Guide Arhensaway

Great excursion!

We loved our trip to Cape Sounion and Temple of Poseidon. Our tour guides Katerina and Aria (spelling of her name?) were so informative and entertaining. Pericles was a great driver as well! We loved the beach stop at the end as well. Highly recommend this tour! The small group made it possible to ask any questions and they gave us ample time at each spot.
