Cape Sounio Temple of Poseidon Half Day Private Tour

Not worth the price

Sky was cloudy so could not see sunset. Dinner was awkward as we were taken to a place where we were the only people in the entire restaurant. Sort of felt we were being set up for something bad to happen. Definitely not worth 300+ euro.

Fantastic sunset tour

We had a wonderful time with STEFANOS, who could not have worked harder to ensure the trip was exactly what we wanted it to be. The car was incredibly comfortable and the drive down the coastal road beautiful. We saw the Temple as the sun was setting, which was very special. Stefanos was accommodating of us wanting to eat earlier and helped us leave the site a little early so that we could ensure we didn’t get back too late. The restaurant he chose for dinner was great quality without being too expensive, with great seafood. We could see the catch of the day and it was all super fresh. This was a very relaxing trip and made a nice counterpart to the busy and noisy sightseeing of any city break.

Poseidon Temple with sunset

It was such a beautiful experience. The view of the sunset was one of a kind, so magical. We had a great time with our guide Manos, he knows quite a lot about Athens. He will tell you everything you want to learn and he will make you laugh a lot 😉. Would recommend for a comfortable tour.

Ship to Airport - 1/2 day tour of the Temple of Poseidon

Wonderful Day!.......picked up on time at our ship by our friendly knowledgeable guide with a Mercedes van........sunny day traveling along the coast from the port to the Cape.......a photo stop at the lake........and at the Temple of Poseidon early before the crowds - photos!!.....rested at the sea view restaurant before being taken to the airport at 1 PM....perfect!

Terrific experience from start to finish

We had an amazing experience seeing all.the sights with Adonis. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant and specifically tailored the tour to our desires. He went above and beyond our expectations.

Nasos Does Not Dissapoint!!!

My wife and I had an amazing time with Nasos! He picked us up right on time and was super friendly and kind! He was extremely knowledgeable and shared so much history and great stories with us! He is very personable and funny too! We reached the Temple of Poseidon early enough to walk around and explore and find a great place for the sunset. It was out of this world and did not disappoint! Thank you, Nasos for an incredible time! When we come back we only want you as our guide!

Exquisite Sunset At Temple of Poseidon

Truly one of my favorite experiences in Greece. Our group of six shared a beautiful coastal drive with a quick stop so we could dip our toes in the Aegean Sea. We then had a delicious casual dinner at the base of the site. The sunset at the Temple of Poseidon was truly magical. Thanks to Olive Sea and our amazing driver, George. He was so engaging and knowledgeable.

Andreas was awesome, absolutely 5 stars!!! He was extremely knowledgeable, incredibly polite, and funny. It was very entertaining to learn all the stories about Greek Mythology & the historical significance of Athens and all the towns on the way to Cape Sounio and the Temple of Poseidon. This was a beautiful and romantic drive and the sunset was stunning. The perfect way to end a perfect day of touring!! We took the private tour to be by ourselves, which was perfect. Andreas was waiting for us with a smile at every stop! Our experience was absolutely 5 stars and I would definitely recommend Andreas as a tour guide again. ROMANTIC COASTAL BLISS

This was a fabulous tour! Chris, our guide was very professional. He showed us all the best highlights on the way to Cape Sounio including the MAJESTIC Temple of Poseidon at Sunset!!! So beautiful…We also enjoyed a fresh seafood dinner afterwards, sitting outside overlooking the Temple which lights up at night while enjoying a sea view. DO NOT miss this opportunity if you enjoy a nice relaxing ride along the coast and a chance to marvel the beautiful ruins. This tour was the highlight of our trip to Athens. Thank you Chris for the wonderful memories we will have. We give 5 stars 👍👍👍👍👍

Outstanding customer service!!

Wow, if you are going to Athens on a cruise, be sure to contact Olive Sea travel they really took care of us! Our cruise skipped out last port of call (in Turkey) due to some political issues and we ended up in Athens a day early. Since we already had tours setup with Olive Sea Travel for after our cruise, I text them the morning we arrived in Athens hoping there was some way we could add another half day tour for that day. They were able to get a drive to meet us at the port with only a few hours' notice and take us out the Cape Sounio to see the Poseidon Temple and then took us to a great little restaurant nearby. They saved our day as the cruise ship was still scrambling to setup excursions and Olive Sea Travel was less cost than the tour excursions for a private experience for our party (2 couples)! Great driver, great company! So happy we booked with them.

Last hurrah in Greece

On our last day in Greece we decided to contact Olive Sea Travel about an evening trip to the Temple of Poseidon because we so enjoyed our Athens day trip with Taz. Petros was our driver and we had a beautiful drive along the coast then got to wander around the Temple which is really amazing and unlike the Parthenon is the only monument around. We then ate at a fish restaurant nearby but the most enjoyable part was hearing about Greek life and a more personal touch. Thank you Petros for our memorable last evening in your beautiful and friendly country! We will be back.

Flawless !!!

Olive Sea travel was first class. The service and professionalism of everyone was second to none. I hired them for airport and cruise ship transfers as well. The drivers were timely and professional. The office was always more then happy to accommodate my changing schedule. The tour to the Temple to Poseidon - should not be missed, it is a magical spot. The drive is beautiful along the coast and don’t skip dinner at the taverna just below. I can’t say enough about how easy and safe the entire team made me feel during my stay. I look forward to returning soon.

Excellent Half Day private shore excursion tour to Temple of Poseidon

Looking for something to do when in the port of Athens, the trip to see the temple of Poseidon makes a good 1/2 day. We are elderly and not good at walking and so the private tour was tailored to our needs. The tour company provided an immaculate mercedes sedan, and though we were not expecting to have both a driver and a guide the company included both which was a real bonus. We stopped at sights all along the way both coming and going and learned a lot from the guide. It was a very good way to spend the day away from the bustle of Athens and an excellent alternative to those who like ourselves have done Athens many times before.If we find ourselves in Athens once again we would not hesitate to contact them for yet another tour.

Great Trip to the Temple of Poseidon

We had an awesome trip to the Temple of Poseidon with our driver Vas. Vas was on time and waiting for us when we came down to the lobby of our hotel. He was soooo knowledgeable of the ancient history of Greece and specifically the Temple of Poseidon, and he pointed out many of the landmarks as we drove thru Athens and the countryside on our trip. He was extremely friendly and spoke fluent English, and he knew a great restaurant where we stopped for lunch where the owners took very good care of us and the food was delicious. One word of caution, the dishes are huge! We ordered a few things in order to try out some different local recipes, and could only eat a fraction of the food they brought! Our next trip to Athens we will definitely use Olive Sea Travel and request Vas to be our driver!!!
